Delicious food, brilliant service

Food was okay, the atmosphere was okay at the front but as you went round the back just got worse and worse. Felt cold and empty. Service was alright. It's nothing special but the food was nice.

Habíamos reservado para 1. 30 y teníamos confirmación en nuestro teléfono. Entramos y le dijimos nuestro nombre y hora a un hombre que estaba en el bar, fue muy grosero y dijo que nuestra reserva era para las 12. 30 Pero nosotros te hemos guardado la mesa. La mesa que nos dieron era muy fría y calada porque la gente que estaba teniendo un velatorio en el pub seguía entrando y saliendo a fumar. Esta función hizo el pub muy ruidoso y tuvimos una larga espera por la comida. No fue una experiencia cómoda para almorzar y coger con viejos amigos. No volveremos

We really like the Beehive, lovely staff, clean, warm. My only issue is lack of vegetarian food. Used to do a few options, now it's a pizza or burger, bloody yippee.

Me and the family booked into this place for food at 2:30, all be it with the football being played on the multiple TV screens we where seated in front of everyone watching the game when we could clearly see there where seats in a quiet dining area! We finally managed to get seated and chose our meals to be ordered only be told 2 of the 3 meals we wanted arent available!? Shouldn't we have been told this before we got seated? Poor show I say. We left and went else where for food.

Food was excellent and love the refurbishment have been going to the Beehive for over 40 years and love it and Landlords and staff always very helpful and staff very friendly and helpful They always go that extra mile to make sure everything ok.grear for private parties such as Weddings Birthdays Christenings and even Wakes. 😀

What a gem, this was our first to the Beehive and although there were several Christmas parties being catered for we were welcomed and found a quiet table in the Conservatory. The food was excellent, served on hot plates and the presentation second to no none. Excellent staff, we will be visiting frequently in the New Year.

Always good food and nice staff

Just had an excellent Christmas party here for 12 people. The food was really good and far exceeded expectations. As well as being excellent value. We had a couple last minute cancellations, and the Landlord was very accomodating, and although pre-order was required we were not charged for these last minute changes. Service was quick and efficient, even with the place being very busy. Thanks for a great Experience!

My Airbnb is across the road from the Beehive, good beer and food, bar staff and owner very friendly.

Food was surprisingly good and our server was very attentive/keen to make sure she'd got our order right as there was a group of us. Lacking in atmosphere but would definitely recommend for the menu quality and choice.

Fish & chips was huge but tasteless. (Not cod)! Wheelchair access was difficult because of a huge bin that was over the path which meant the chair had to go over pebbles!

Had an excellent sea bass and king prawn dish with a rich tomato and chorizo sauce. The menu is extensive and a great mix of pub grub and more fanciful recipes. Lovely service and garden to boot

Went for a work lunch, delicious food all round and great servers. Somehow no one made a bad choice when it came to their meal which is representative of the quality here.

Muy cálida bienvenida y buena comida. Teníamos un perro con nosotros tan amasado para sentarse en la zona del bar que estaba absolutamente bien. El personal incluso trajo a nuestro perro un tazón de agua y había golosinas para perros en el bar. Qué bar tan amable. Ojalá hubiera tomado fotos de las hamburguesas y el plato de pescado, impresionante.

An absolutely lovely pub with great food and plenty of available parking. OAP portion of fish and chips was substantial and good value for money. Well prepared, and everyone in our party enjoyed their meals. Will be back!

Had the steak daily special. It was a little disappointing bit on the tough side. I would still go back but try something different. Service and staff excellent 👌.

Lovely menu with something for all tastes. Excellent value for money with friendly and thoughtful service. The garden and lower terrace are great spaces with shade and I’d highly recommend the Beehive. Would be a good idea to book at busy times.

Brilliant Sunday lunch at the Bee Hive, great portions, great quality and superb taste. The pub was busy with family groups, younger groups and had an excellent atmosphere. Staff were fantastic and it's well worth a visit.😆🥳😆 Update: just had a superb evening meal at the Beehive. Excellent food, great atmosphere and lovely staff and landlord!!!

Busy, fun pub with great service and a wide menu of delicious food. Lots of outside areas. Specials menu. Kids having a blast in the garden on the last day of school but also quieter areas inside and out.

Great pub!! Highly recommended. Beautiful garden. Parking. Excellent staff. Went here for a funeral wake, we were met by friendly and compassionate staff. We were in a bright and lovely room. Plenty of toilets. Everything was clean. Buffet was delicious. Faultless.

Great food and a really good atmosphere. Came with family and friends to eat pizza (which is amazing by the way) and watch England. From the moment we stepped in every single member of staff were so welcoming and kind and couldn't do enough for us aswell as the kids . You guys are great . 😊

Really beautiful place but I felt like the food was mid. We had a problem with a vegan burger coming out as a meat burger too, which was crazy. Like really thank goodness we noticed and nothing was eaten. When we asked, they confirmed it was vegan, but it was 100% meat upon further inspection The manager apologised but there was no compensation, usually a mistake that big should be rectified

Precioso pub tuvo una comida el domingo 19 que puede que nunca tuvo el asado, pero he estado antes y uno de los mejores que he tenido fue para el pescado con patatas fritas y mi compañero la hamburguesa muy buena y salió tubería caliente encantador jardín de cerveza en 3 etapas que la mayoría de la gente aprovechó al máximo el clima soleado caliente todo el personal era excelente muy educado y con una sonrisa mención especial a Dan que era muy educado y siempre comprobando que todo estaba bien con nuestra comida volveremos.

Sobresaliente en todos los sentidos. Un pub de visita obligada para comer. Personal cálido y amable, gran servicio y comida maravillosa. Recomendaría este pub.

The Beehive has to be one of the friendliest and welcoming pubs in Bristol. The food is good and always good real ales on hand pump, normally including a well-kept favourite Butcombe. Recommended.

Excellent food & service. We had prawns for starters which was exceptional. Vegan burger was good with a smoky flavour & chocolate brownie was fantastic to finish off the dinner

Food was great but slow service the evening I went there. An hour for burger and chips.

We go here a few times a year. It offers by far the best value meals in the city. Even the half portions of the roasts are very generous. Food is delicious. Staff always attentive and cheerful.

If you are thinking of holding your wake here 100% book it. Staff are friendly, understanding, and helpful. The food was excellent and very reasonable.

This is a busy community pub which is well used by locals. For a Monday night it was busy and I was glad that we had booked or I’m not sure they’d have been able to fit us in. It was great to see the variety of groups/families and community events happening. Another draw for us was the ease of parking. The Bee Hive has a large car park and easy access into the pub. I took my elderly parents here this and we had a lovely time. The menu includes a couple of OAP priced items in the extensive choice and I really could not fault the service that we had - a lovely team! Our food was well presented and very tasty. So often salads are not done well but my mother had the Chicken Caesar Salad which was fabulous. My dad polished his Fish and Chips off too! Thanks for a lovely relaxed evening. We will definitely return.

Stopped off for a quiet drink and watch the golf on the big screen. A quiet place with very friendly and helpful staff.

A slightly overcooked vegan burger left a charred taste but the sweet potato chips were 😋

Sunday Roast - absolutely excellent. The Bread & Butter pudding the best we’ve ever had - well done Chef ! We will definitely being going back.

This was an ideal location for a wake after my Mother's Funeral. It's sad that more didn't come along. Though each to their,I suppose.

We had a wonderful time at the Beehive for Sunday Lunch with friends. All the staff were welcoming, friendly and attentive. The food was amazing. Large portion sizes, so be warned! We have been here a couple of times now and it always been a great experience. Thankyou and see you all soon.

Great location and atmosphere great choice of drinks.

We turned up, ordered our drinks and then looked for somewhere to sit. Unfortunately the main bar area was taken up with a wake so we went to sit at a table and were told in a gruff manner ‘No dogs allowed in this area!’ Our dog is a toy poodle, the size of a cat. 🤷🏻‍♂️ There was nowhere else to sit, so we took our drinks outside in -2°C! Chances of us returning? Somewhere between Bob Hope and no hope! All other pubs in the area let us sit wherever we like, so why go to The Beehive?

Had a mini family "reunion" there, the atmosphere was great and the pizzas and chips were really good! Staff were great and the landlord was very friendly adding to the warm and welcoming atmosphere. Would highly recommend for a quiet beverage and/or for the food that I saw passing, and the pizza I ate! =D

We had an excellent time at the Beehive on a Thursday evening. We were shown to our table by the manager Rufus and quickly attended to by the staff. A nice selection of beers and the food was excellent (and good value compared to other Bristol establishments. ) We cant wait to return.

Rufus and Dawn made our family instantly feel welcomed and cared for as we planned our fathers wake to be held in the private space in the pub. They made really personalised suggestions, having taken the time to understand what our dad liked. On the day we were very much left to make ourselves at home, knowing that if we needed anything we only needed to ask. Buffet was delicious. Thank you so so much for making this difficult time a little easier for us x

Popped in for a casual early evening pint today - first time in 20 years - and was struck by the warm welcome and can do attitude of the staff. The place had a really nice feel to it. Will be back!

Not been hear for years. Monday night busy and the staff were very attentive and helpful. Loved them making my sons tap water look like a cocktail

My previous encounter with the Beehive left me less than enamoured with my experience and a consequential average review ensued (see below) I noticed yesterday that the review still pops and it's not fair such an old review is still there so here's my update for 2023. They worked hard to keep us happy and I'd say the service we got for a Bristol suburban pub was exceptional. The gent cruising the tables kept everyone topped up (like the best hotels and restaurants do) and my fellow diners commented on how good a salesman he was. The food is certainly less pretentious than it was but far more honest for it. They were busy and honest about it but this didn't slow down the service and our food came out timely and well presented. The ale is still good and they're nailing the basics better so I'm happy to dole out a star upgrade. Come on though Google - time to gradually fade those old pub reviews out so people don't get the wrong impression. Old review: When I had quick nose at the 194 previous reviews of this place, depending on what you want to believe when you read reviews, I was to expect a warm welcome in a gentrified cozy gastropub with an overpriced menu serving great value average food by staff who are both polite and amenable whilst being frosty and unconcerned. Now I know that pubs are a bit like schools (one bad experience and the whole place needs an Ofsted) but I'm starting to think that if you're going to review a pub then you should at the very least stick to the facts and avoid hyperbole. Google could help here too by removing any review over 4 months old on pubs since they change hands and managers so frequently that anything older might as well be a fossil discovery. Anyway - sticking to the facts... Ling is a cheap fish so a £13 portion of it on mash with capers, cabbage and crispy chorizo needed to be special to, well, earn it's place on the specials board. Sadly the fish was overcooked, the piggy bits burned and the cabbage somehow less yielding than the boots I had on. Similarly, the prawns (in my partner's linguine) had seen too much of the sun. The menu was quite exciting so it's a shame we dropped on the one food the chef probably missed that lesson on when they were at college. The beer was good as was the cheesboard (at £8 it had no excuses) which came with a delightful little richly sliced tomato pickle. Not cheap but not expensive but if they want the foodies in you've got to nail the basics down.

Quality of beer has improved over time, and the welcome when walk in has also gone up Might have to make a few more visits to be sure, but definitely appears to be on the right track

Staff was rude, must of all the owner was not expecting the fact the food was terrible! We was made to sit on a table which was wobbling, had garden chairs to sit on and was freezing where we was sat! The carrot almost took my tooth out, chicken looked like it was about to run away. She tried to argue at the fact her food wasn’t cooked very poorly! I felt they was judging me on the way I looked, will not be going back ever again. Not only did we receive this terrible service, I was complaining to my friend and the owner decided to ear wig on my conversation whilst hiding behind her kitchen door and then confronted me on how I felt in my private conversation to my friend, this then set of my anxiety due to having bad mental health and being confronted when I never wanted to be.

Took my parents here for lunch. Food was amazing (best fish and chips I have ever had), service great and able to accommodate a dog and parents with mobility issues. Will definitely come back again.

We booked a table for the family including a wheelchair user and a dog after a recommendation as we aren't local to Bristol. We were made to feel so welcome with the dog being given her own water bowl, and treats. Staff were so friendly and helpful, we sat a long time over the meal and didn't feel at all rushed. Food was lovely, portions enormous. Would absolutely choose to book again if we are in the area. Thank you

We held mother-in-law wake here. There is plenty of space with a large garden. Really quite nice.

Lovely pub for a quiet lunch. Wasn't very busy. Sure it gets a lot busier when there's sports on.

The food is great here, but we asked for a quiet table. The table was in a draughty area - the door to the garden banged loudly as staff went in and out. The inner area near the bar seemed quieter when we walked through - we could have eaten there?
