Mediocre, no juke box darts.or pool.table. Not really a.locals pub. I did frequent for a while after leaving due to bad customer service. As for food, they're a local kiichen inn, never very hood and then it leaves and they get.another (never lasts long, place is dead in winter) So far some bristol outfit, then pizza and last when I went Jamaican.. Without the local hospital, place wouldn't be serving. Sometimes the music is offensive (staff spotify playlist). Wasn't too bad when Steve ran it and then george, gave locals a card (10 pints, get 1 free) they removed that from some locals (now drink elsewhere). It's OK for a.once.in a while meet up after work, but last pint I bought was nearly £7..overpriced and don't know their customers. And think they can talk to customer rudely.

Booked an overnight stay. Looked promising as has been refurbished since our last stay.......However, no coat hangers in the room, no bin in the bathroom, a totally inadequate brand new ceiling fan that doesn't cool the room in the slightest. Ordered food at 7.55 and waited until 8.37 to receive it. Went up to order dessert straight after to be told no, at 8.59, that the kitchen shut at 9pm. So, no to 3 blobs of ice cream and an Eton mess. Won't stay here again, even though I initially had high hopes I had found a regular Bristol stay. Very disappointed.

This pub could be amazing but for some reason they’ve carpeted the family area and outside the (urine soaked) gents’ toilet. The whole rest of the pub has hard floors. Why on earth someone thought to carpet there is a mystery. Our friends often want to come here but I can’t bring myself to let my beautiful bub loose in the disgusting carpeted toy area and it’s hard to keep her away. If only they could put hard floor everywhere it would be ace.

Miss Arrogant, the blonde girl from the bar, should not work with customers at all! (I just found out later the staff call her Miss Arrogant behind her back.) I have serious allergies, and she was making faces when I asked what kind of drinks they have. I asked about the types I can drink, but she had a very bad attitude towards me. She was not helpful at all and very unfriendly. I asked for juice without ice because I cannot drink anything cold due to my throat, and she was making faces and sassy sighs. I don't understand why people like her are serving customers when they clearly cannot handle them. I haven't made a scene about it, but with this attitude, she can cause a lot of damage if she does not take allergies seriously.

Outrageous! Discrimination against people with lung disease!? This is against customer rights. One of my friends got this whooping cough what is going around, and she has been coughing for days now. She was in the toilet at Craft Cow coughing, and when she came out, one of the staff members said to her, "You are not allowed to order more drinks because you were vomiting in the toilet." Despites she was not ordering anything just wanted to come back to our table from the toilet. She hadn't even ordered anything, and she wasn't drunk. The staff member just came to her and told her this from the bar when my friend were passing by on her way back to out table. My friend got upset and felt offended about the accusation and the nonsense about refusing her when she was not even asked for anything. Security got involved and asked her to leave even after we clarified that she is just ill and has been coughing hard for days. They still asked us to leave the premises and the security escorted us out. We spent a good amount of money there, ordered food, and she had only a half pint. We found out the manager decided to do this. I was talking with her too and clarified that my friend is just ill, has chest problems, and is coughing. She didn't care and asked us to leave. I asked for the book of complaints, but she refused to let me make an official complaint. So she is discriminating against people who have a cold or lung disease or cancer too? As she had no idea why does she coughing. Even worse if she were vomiting really it could be any other health issues, or food poisoning, but instead of asking her, the girl from the bar accused her being drunk and vomiting and "refused to serve her" even when she were not intended to buy anything, as she still got her half pint and her pizza on the table. Yes, the pub can refuse to serve customers. But for coughing?! Evermore she was not ordering anything from the bar, but the girl at the bar came to her and told her "we not serve you any more drinks because you were vomiting" What kind of treatment is this? What if she have lung cancer? By the way she have chest infection not cancer but they don't know that. The most annoying is they refuse to serve somebody who not even ordering, as she didn't even drink her previous drink. It is mind-blowing how unprofessional this bar management! I asked the security to call the manager for me. They tried to avoid this by saying "she is busy" but I waited for her. We clarified with her as well she is coughing because she have chesty cough, but she was made ger mind and not even apologized, and didn't do anything with professional manner. I asked the manager to give me the complaint book, and she said they don't have one! I asked her again, as they must have it. Even the security guy was laughing and said they don't have to have it. The manager told me, "I have a personal license." Well, if she has a personal license and she is the manager, how is it possible she is not aware of this regulation? "Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014: Regulation 16" https://www.cqc.org.uk/guidance-providers/regulations/regulation-16-receiving-acting-complaints I asked multiple times for the complaints book, and still got the same answer "we don't have to have" because I knew they must have. But then suddenly the manager said, "It is online." and left this subject with this. I asked for the details for the online access, but she didn't have the answer."it's online" she said. She didn't say anything where is it, hot to make official complaint. They do not have a complaint log and have no idea it is required! How is she the manager here? Very unprofessional staff and management working at the bar. If you go there, make sure you don't dare to cough, even if you have lung cancer, because they don't ask questions just jump into conclusions and refuse to serve even if you don't order anything. And if you don't like it, you will be escorted out with security.

I have been a regular customer of The Crafty Cow for about a year now, regularly showing up for their pub quizzes. It always has a big turnout and provides a fun evening with friends. I've also had food here on several occasions which has always been delicious and reasonably priced. I'm writing this review because I recently had a tricky situation in which The Crafty Cow kindly stepped in and massively helped me out! The pub has a car park at the back which is ownedfree for pub customers, however I only recently realised I had to register my car at the bar before using the car park (registering only took 10 seconds on an ipad). Unfortunately, I had used the car park many times before registering, and the 3rd party company responsible for the car park had sent me multiple parking notices to an old address, which I had missed and they had increased to over £500! This was a massive worry for me, so I notified the pub and they told me not to pay it, and went back and forth emailing the parking company and eventually managed to talk the charge down to only £60. I really didn't expect such a positive outcome, I'm so grateful for the pub making such an effort for me. All in all a really friendly place that looks out for their customers, I'd highly recommend checking them out!

Busy Sunday, have been recommended this place for a roast. Came here on a busy and sunny afternoon. Staff were super efficient, and friendly. Food is decent and you are given a lot of choices. I went for the pork belly in cider. The bottom part of the pork belly was nice and tender, and season well. The cider taste, gave it an added flavour which was really tasty. Only slight criticism was that the top of it wasn't crunchy enough. Other than that, was top notch. Roast potatoes were ok, nothing special. Veg was cooked well, no complaints. Nice to see red cabbage which is one my roast veg favs. Carrots and parsnips were the other veg. Cauli cheese was nice and creamy, they definitely got the blend of cheese to cauliflower done nicely. Special mention goes to the yorky pud. Was amazingly tasty, the gravy was super tasty as well.

Really really disappointed. I went about a year ago and the food was great so was looking forward to going back, but apparently they’ve recently changed kitchens and it’s so disappointing . The food was so basic and bland, lacked any real flavour - was sort of like eating school canteen food. Severely overpriced for what it is as well. I’d expect better quality and cheaper food at a burger van or even a maccies. Service and everything else was good but food completely ruined the experience so won’t be back anytime soon.

Asked for horseradish sauce no problem (slight disappointment.... no mint sauce). Staff were friendly and helpfull. Can also recommend the pork (as I tried a piece from someone else on my table). I found the desserts to be rather on the small side, but to be fair they tasted really delicious. Also the coffee served here is of a good standard (tasted like real coffee beans) Overall a very pleasant experience. Can't really comment on accommodation as I did not stay. As to location.... Not exactly picturesque it's on the main Gloucester road, but had a free car park and looks good from the outside. Also good children's indoor area.

We've stayed in the rooms here a few times now and they're comfortable and I think fairly good value. It's a shame there is no breakfast option as judging by the couple of meals we've had in the pub downstairs, they'd be great but Bristol isn't exactly short of good breakfast places so it's fine. The pub downstairs is nice and welcoming. Good range of drinks (although not a huge range of cocktails) and prices are what you'd expect. Had food a couple of times and been really pleased. The beer garden is lovely. Each time we've been we've been able to find a space in the car park. Quite disappointed with the pub. This is a local pub of mine and I must say I'm quite disappointed with the lack of signage around the parking situation. I have recently been charged £100 for allegedly parking in a permit zone, however the pub states it offers free parking but clearly this isn't the case. I was informed by a friend of mine that you must input details into a tablet by the bar but this isn't posted anywhere. It's a shame as drinks and the food were wonderful, this has however put me off returning. It feels like I have essentially paid £100 just to attend to the venue. Be careful if you visit.

Do not go to this pub, and absolutely do not park there! I went in August last year and have just received a final notice for a parking fine (of over £150) having not received any previous communication. What did I do to receive this fine you might ask? Park in a disabled spot? Park over multiple spaces? Leave my car there and not even go to the pub? No… none of these. I parked in their car park, in a proper space, went in and had a drink and left after about half an hour. But I apparently didn’t register my car with the pub to get a permit… for a 30 minute visit on a Wednesday evening when it was empty except for our group. This rule was not clearly signed, no member of staff told us to do it despite the fact we were a group of about 10, all having driven individually and were the only people in the pub. Judging from the other reviews I have read for this pub this is clearly a known problem that the pub continue to operate. It’s like they want to punish their customers.
