The Mole and Badger Restaurant in Windsor and Maidenhead

Went for Sunday lunch having been recommended by a few different people. Had a table booked inside the restaurant after 45 minutes and having to share one menu between 4 people we ordered . The restaurant/ hotel seem more bothered about serving what can only be described as a pool party outside. Lots of people drinking and shouting. It reminded me of Spain in the 90s. Not a restaurant to go for a nice Sunday lunch. After 1 hour and no service we paid for our drinks and left. Went to a pub in the village and had a lovely meal. Won’t return and REALLY wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

What a find… a gem of a pub restaurant ! Fabulous staff , very cosy and lovely food… giving 5 stars although wine list needs improving which I was assured was happening imminently !

We were so lucky to take a wrong turn and stumble upon this beautiful pub! We were met by the staff and locals like old friends and once seated by the roaring fire we warmed up with a drink and a sharing platter which was absolutely delicious. We liked it so much that we retuned the next day with family for drinks and they loved it too!!!! Will definitely return and next time may stay over as the rooms look great.

I recently hosted a dinner here for a large group and I could not have asked for more! The service and attention we received was excellent from the moment we arrived. The management and the chef helped to plan the evening and put together a special menu for us due to the size of our group (c. 20 of us) and each course was absolutely superb. This is a gem of a venue that is tucked away in a stunning and peaceful area with a really special interior blending its traditional pub heritage with cosy modern features - great surroundings that made for a really excellent evening. I look forward to coming back soon and enjoying the other offerings on the menu.

Lip smacking food, great service , memorable experience. Was planning to visit this place on recommendation of friends. A hidden gem in the Tiny beautiful Cookham Dean. My husband and I came to the Mole and Badger for new years eve, Jack was welcoming when we arrived, dinner was lovely, however, came to breakfast in the morning, Jack had said the chef had not arrived because of new years eve celebrations, so no guest had a full English breakfast, we were given a couple of croissants and a yogurt, we were not offered what yogurt we would like, there was no toast to be offered because the chef was bringing in the bread on new years day, quite honestly, if concerns were stated the chef might not come to work as it was the new years eve, where was the owner to see to the guests, poor Jack was so embarrassed, we should I feel be offered a refund on our breakfast, simply was not good enough

The place was empty except for a couple of men having a drink at the bar. We had booked but they hadn’t even checked bookings. We were then questioned about the booking as they couldn’t find it. After we showed proof of online booking, we were seated. Unfriendly, disinterested, felt unwelcoming. Felt like we were a nuisance for turning up. Perhaps why it’s empty! Not coming back and will never recommend. The food was grossly over priced and not what I would even remotely call Japanese - the waygu was fatty, extremely salty and otherwise tasteless; the squid was tasteless. I visited M & B for dinner on Sat evening with my family. Food and service were excellent and place was cosy and busy! Planning a return visit for sure !!

We came for dinner on Friday night to try out the new menu. It was buzzy and fun, the menu was great - simple but plenty for everyone. We tried the chicken teriyaki, the pumpkin katsu and a chicken katsu - really delicious and beautifully put together. The gyozas are sublime. We will definitely be back - we’ve waited a while for this fantastic location to have food and service that matches. Lovely and great value. The tofu tempura was the only bland thing, served with a fierce sauce to be fair - but everything else really delicious. And great, chatty attentive staff. A new find!

We had dinner at the Sanctum/Mole and Badger on Saturday night, we were a group of 4 Cookham residents. I'm very pleased to report that all was extremely good...manager Rob allocated a dog friendly table behind the bar, all 4 of us enjoyed excellent starters and main courses - tasty well prepared food, innovative dishes - different to the standard gastro pub fare. The Sanctum has been a good place to stop for a drink for a while, it has beautiful gardens and plenty of shaded areas - it's great that the restaurant measured up too & I would have no hesitation in recommending it to others - I look forward to many more pleasing experiences - based on last weekend the M&B certainly deserves its place on the Cookham gastro trail!

This is hands down the best Sunday roast! We have tried a lot and always come back here as it’s simply the best. Juicy chicken and all the trimmings YUM

Came for the House of Tasty Taco night. The fish tacos were out this world, put me right back on the beach in Mexico. Authentic flavors and amazing service from the staff, especially Jack, who took care of our table all night. Would definitely come back again! :)

Amazing Sunday lunch with delicious cocktails all served by fun and attentive staff. Great setting with huge garden.

Dined twice in as many days it was that good! The crab starter was so light and refreshing and then the sirloin steak was deliciously tasty, tender and with all the trimmings. Food heaven!

We visited the Mole and Badger restaurant in Cookham for the first time for dinner last night and absolutely loved it. The staff were warm and welcoming, the young man behind the bar was particularly helpful and knowledgable and the atmosphere was buzzing. The food was really excellent, both starters and both mains were cooked beautifully and full of flavour. A really great night, we will be back!

Top presentation,top quality lunch!!! That was my second experience to visit Karma Sanctum on Sunday lunch and there is a big changes. The menu offered a selection of roast dishes and my meal was cooked to perfection. The portion size was good and there was a nice atmosphere. Strongly recommend roast beef. Will definitely revisit again!!!
