I've frequented this charming cafe on multiple occasions, often stopping by with friends during our bike rides for a delightful coffee break or a delicious breakfast. This time, opting for lunch, we were greeted by a note at the till, explaining their current understaffing situation and the potential for a wait, but this didn't dampen our experience. Despite the absence of vegan cheese, I was intrigued by the roasted vegetables ciabatta. My sister enjoyed a tuna sandwich, while my dad opted for the toasted cheese and onion sandwich – all of which were delightful and promptly devoured. The coffee received mixed reviews; I found it delightful, whereas my dad, preferring his coffee with milk on the side, thought it was a bit weak. The young lad serving us was a delight, embodying respect and kindness. He subtly encouraged us to indulge in more coffee and cake with a friendly demeanor, a tempting proposition we might have succumbed to if time had permitted. Overall, this quaint cafe in a picturesque village earns my support for its unique charm, steering clear of the corporate giants like Costa and Starbucks. A thoughtful touch was the availability of games on the tables, though I didn't partake this time, it's a feature I may explore on a future visit. 👍🏼

I was on a cycle ride from Whitstable to Rochester which took me via Iwade where decided to stop for lunch at the Mews Brewhouse. (Ideal for cyclists as bike rack is located right outside). The lunchtime menu included either Eggs Benedict or the Avocado Smash so I opted for the latter. It was delicious and surprisingly filling as well as reasonably priced. The young guy serving at the counter and waiting on tables was really polite and welcoming - he almost persuaded me to have a tempting slice of coffee and walnut cake but I had to resist because of needing to ride on afterwards! During a quieter moment, the chef and proprietress came out of the kitchen and chatted to customers and was likewise really friendly and helpful. There was a nice relaxed family atmosphere and a couple of young children enjoyed eating with mums and grandparents. All very clean and tidy, wouldn't hesitate to come here again! Prices are out of proportion to food served. Even with the cost of living increases £8.20 for a small filled Ciabbatta is extortionate. Dolls house size tea and coffee cups are another issue.

I was searching the area for a Dog friendly place to eat, found this little gem of a café, its clean and tidy, staff are friendly and attentive, excellent menu, food freshly cooked and delicious, and when you've finished your breakfast, just walk across the road and you'll find a little park where you can walk your dog. I give it a five star rating, and we will be back. Give it a go, you won't be disappointed.

Was a bit early visiting friends, noticed the brew house and decided to stop off. Easy parking at rear, lovely little tea room, had a latte and mince pie, wife had a cream tea, consisted of 2 scones, butter, jam and clotted cream together with a pot of tea. Excellent value and service, friendly and polite staff, good menu selection as well. Recommended and would definitely return.

Stopped into The Mews Brewhouse while I was waiting in the area, had a coffee and a flapjack and both were excellent. Everyone was really friendly in there and the atmosphere was really good with families and couples popping in for a bite to eat or just a nice warming coffee. As usual the welcome was cheerful and genuine. The staff are friendly and interested in you. Ordered a bacon sandwich as my real reason for visiting was the Lemon drizzle cake an all time favourite of mine, which was as great as expected! It’s important to know that the owner sees her cafe as part of the community and thus she arranges all sorts of “events” to include many different groups of people from toddlers to people who sew to older people and enthusiastic cyclists. Always worth checking her Facebook page to see if anything is going on! The venue is a hub and sometimes can be busy, so if visit remember she might have lust said bye to loads to happy toddlers! The cakes are really worth the pilgrimage, although my partner tells me the cheese scones (not my thing) are lovely! Well worth the trip!

This cafe is nothing like what I would have expected a coffee shop to be like. Numerous hairs over the floor, food overpriced and over cooked. When I visited this restaurant me and my friend shared a brownie for £5 A BROWNIE FOR £5 CHEAP but being honest it wasn’t the best brownie it was too sickly and hard not warm and stone cold when it’s being called HOT FUDGE BROWNIE so u do not believe this is up to the standards to what this is being called.

Took my family to try out a local cafe, but wasn't impressed. The floor was covered in lots of dog hair, and even the loos had dog hair around the sink. We were there on a Sunday afternoon, it wasn't busy and no dogs currently there, so perhaps if they allow dogs they should try and clean the floor now and again when they've got time, as the hair seems to easily move around with any movement being a hard floor.

I went for lunch today with a friend ( she suggested here ) and I have to say it was lovely. It was nice and bright and very clean. You have to go to the counter to order but that's not a problem. I had the triple toasted sandwich with bacon chicken avocado which was delicious and served with coleslaw crisps and a side salad my friend and the cheeses and tomato toasted sandwich again served with side salad and crisps . Unfortunately they were low on cakes but my friend had the Victoria sponge and said it was nice but I had icecream and it was divine...will certainly visit again.

Could do with some fresh fruit on sale for those a little more health conscious or diet specific. Cakes were to die for, looked amazing and the one I had was incredible. Moist and tasty, definitely a must have with a coffee. Seems to be quite family orientated with babies and older people mingling. Will definitely go again sometime, as nice change from the usual branded coffee shops that do the same thing week in, week out!

This place is a real hidden gem. In a world of big brand coffee shops that all look and feel exactly the same wherever you happen to be it’s so refreshing to find one that has it’s own charm and identity. We have been visiting the Brewhouse since it opened and we have met so many lovely people who we no doubt would have just passed in the streets of the village without any sort of interaction otherwise. The staff here are always welcoming. I’ve seen the negative comments from others about being left standing around waiting but when you consider the queues at the well known High Street coffee shops that often extend out of the door the question I would ask is where would you rather be? Personally I’d prefer to pop in here and be greeted by people who know my name, have a chat with people who aren’t glued to their iPhones and wait slightly longer for my sandwich, which incidentally I know will be made fresh rather than having been sitting in a plastic wrapper all morning being picked up and prodded by god knows who. The cakes here are amazing, the coffee as good as the big brands if not better and the atmosphere never ceases to take the stresses away. Mandy has created something here that we as a community should be grateful for. I get the impression that a few impatient people have missed that point, but they’re probably the one’s sitting in Costa staring at their phones.

Absolutely love the Mews Brewhouse. From the friendliest staff to the delicious food, it’s a relaxed place to visit. Mandy, Emma and the entire Brewhouse team are amazing - especially if you need a chat to go with your coffee. Always enjoy the wide range of cakes and wonderful coffee, but I’m partial to a smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich. Try the Farmhouse Tea for a savoury alternative to the Cream Tea - warm cheese scones, cream cheese and caramelised onion chutney. Yum!

I'm not sure how Swale Borough Council could have possibly given this establishment a 5 star rating! As an animal lover it is welcomed that we are able to nip in for a drink with our furry friends. However, I do believe there should be a segregated area and I certainly don't approve of Animal Awareness Days. How hygenic can it be having rats, guinea pigs, snakes, tortoise and blue tongued skinks being handled by staff who although may wash their hands after, do not change their clothes. What a pity that customers aren't treated with the same care. We had a young baby, a few weeks old, in a small buggy and were asked to move seats by the owner when we'd sat in an area we thought would keep baby safe from hot drinks spilling onto him. Not somewhere we will be visiting anytime soon.
