Great beer garden, plenty of space, my first visit, seems like every one knows each other, but soon was chatting, very friendly, we only had drinks as meeting friends, reasonable prices,, friendly staff.

We stayed here recently it is such a friendly hotel. Breakfast was superb and nothing was too much trouble. From when we arrived to when we left (2 nights) we were looked after, a young man helped carry our bags and helped us up to our room too. The breakfast was full of choice and they even went the extra mile when my partner was a little ‘cheeky’ haha. We will defo be booking again. Hired the venue for my Daughters Bridal Shower , Lisa the owner lovely lady and her staff are fantastic ( Big thank you to all that helped 😘) I got the buffet from here and the food was amazing and well presented perfect venue to hire 😍....... A cracking place to go for a drink on a sunny day. Has a courtyard that is a proper sun trap and we go regular when it is sunny. Always offers on the beer. So reasonably cheap. And always welcome our dogs. Don't know if they are doing good or not at the moment

I hadn't been for a long time and found it friendly and comfortable. It was very quiet. The lagers on offer are bog standard, so Mr J3KTN wasn't too impressed. All in all, it was ok.

Nice bar for a drink and good outside area. Not sure if they do food, was just up visiting in Southport so popped in while we were passing. Believe this place is a hotel aswell but we didn’t view as we were staying in The Bold.

Lovely funtion room, lovely sit down meal, very pleasant staff, nice comfy chairs and nice to relax.

Called in for a light meal and drink in the early evening. The outside was littered and dirty. We hoped the inside was better, but turned around at the door and left. It was smelly. We have eaten here in the past but will not return or recommend this now.

We decided to have our wedding reception in the function room here and we are glad we did. The function room is lovely, the food was delicious and the staff couldn't have been better. Was also impressed with their organisation, it gave us confidence that they had everything in hand so we didn't have to worry about things going wrong. All in all we had a fantastic reception here and I'd recommend anyone looking for somewhere to hold a similar event to check this place out.

What a fantastic team you all are! From start to finish you supported the organisation of our son and daughter in laws wedding. The staff couldn’t do enough for us, and I could tell it wasn’t that it was their job, they REALLY wanted to help. Everything went smoothly, the room was fabulous and the food delicious . Booked in for one night for a concert and found it to be a good value hotel Room price okay and the drinks were very cheap. Excellent customer service from Ethan and rooms were quite modern. It was a bit noisy and continental breakfast only but does a good job for the money.

We decided on a short break in Southport after seeing the Metro offering a deal on Groupon. What we didn’t expect that when we are the so called deal was the normal rate. Upsides were a comfortable clean bedroom; downsides no long term parking close by, though could park in the street at a pay and display overnight; we booked bed and breakfast assuming breakfast was a hot breakfast, no it was a continental cold breakfast - very disappointing, noise from the bar could be heard in our room. Overall it was ok for an overnight but that’s it for us.

We booked a 2 night break at this hotel through Groupon and arrived at 8pm last night, having traveled 90 miles, and were shown to room 2 which has NO WINDOW!!!

My wife and I was invited to My sons Nephews Bar Mitzvah, we had the ceremony in the morning at the local venue and the party was held at the Metro in the evening. This venue has been recently refurbished and we had a very enjoyable night at this venue. The bar prices are reasonable and the room was clean and tidy with comfortable seats and tables. The staff was very friendly and always sociable and nothing to much trouble and free wifi if required.Would definitely recommend this venue for a party or a night out.This venue was part of a brilliant weekend. I live just around the corner from The Metro Hotel Bar and Restaurant and have enjoyed many sunny afternoons having drinks with friends. We eat out often and could not believe that when we asked about menus we were told they do not serve food! How can it be classed as a bar and restaurant if they have nothing to eat! What a waste as it is newly refurbished hotel with a lovely outdoor area but when you get hungry you have to leave and take your patronage elsewhere. It seems such a shame to spend a lot of money on signage advertising "Food served all day" when it isn't. Come on manager sort it out even if is just some sandwiches and a bowl of chips!

Our friends have been visiting us from down south so on a sunny afternoon we found the metro lovely big front courtyard for sitting in the sun have a drink & a chat & with happy hour upto 8.30 pm & a pint of carlsberg 2.20 how could we go wrong, lovely friendly staff will definately make a regular visit

Teníamos fiesta 18 cumpleaños de nuestro hijo en la fantástica sala de función última noche. No podría haber ido mejor. Impecable. James y su equipo nos enorgulleció. Desde el momento en que reservé la habitación hace varios meses James cumplió con todas nuestras peticiones con una sonrisa y se desvivió para garantizar nuestra noche fue perfectamente. Todo el personal era cálido, amable y extremadamente eficiente y todo el mundo se volcó para hacer las cosas. La decoración es elegante y moderno con iluminación super. El buffet caliente / frío fue increíble. Incluso consintió vegano/amigos vegetarianos que pasaron por en su complemento sobre la gama de opciones que nos daban. Igualmente nuestros amigos no vegetarianos y familia disfrutamos de la deliciosa selección.

It was a great welcome to The Metro. We got shown to our room which was a lovely change and even shown the late door etc. That really made a difference. The rooms were nice, clean and well maintained. It has obviously be refurbished recently and it was more than I expected. The shower this morning was fantastic. Not a little trickle like you get in some places. We were there for a family 21st which was held in a great function room. Really really nice. Toilets gorgeous. Bar staff friendly and efficient. Really was a fantastic nightWould defo recommend The Metro

my self and my sister in law have been here several times, for an afternoon tea, one of the best ones we have had good service tea and coffee filled when you like rather then a tea pot put down and the tea left to stew nice selection of sandwiches and cakes the cakes seemed home made? I would definitely recommend it we did us Groupon vouchers but it didn't seem the reduce the quality like some places you go to .

I regularly pass this bar and whenever I do its outside drinking area is invariably packed. Having called in recently with my wife for a drink I can understand why: a pint of Guinness and a pint of Peroni cost me £5. The bar area is clean and welcoming and the staff were friendly and helpful. We only had time to stop for one drink but with prices like these during its Happy Hour (12pm to 8.30pm til further notice) it will not be long before we go back.

Nice place to stop off on a summers evening and watch the world go by. Pretty central and you can sit outside.Not stayed as guest but often stop by for a quick drink.

Thr food here has always been good. Not too expensive for a nice meal and wine with it.my husband always says he has a good pint as well. Quite a few TV 's as well.

Stayed last Saturday just for one night whilst seeing relatives and visiting the flower show in Southport. Lovely clean, spacious room. Staff all friendly and very helpful. No noise at night and excellent breakfast. Will definitely visit again.

Ate here with my Partner. Service was great and the food was too. I must admit I wasn't a fan of the chips, a little too crisp for me, but everything else was great and the sharing dessert was fab.

Had a brilliant night at this hotel, clean, friendly. Not far from the beach, only downfall it doesn't say about parking n that you have to pay from 8am to 6pm which next to the hotel cost you around £14 but we did discover at the pier it's £8 for all day which we will do next time. The breakfast was really nice.

I stayed here for one night on business, it's in a great central location. The staff though busy and seemingly under staffed that night were very friendly.Only down side was no food on an evening and rooms were very hot as no windows. Very spacious and clean though.

My wife and I visited for afternoon tea courtesy of a Groupon voucher. We received a warm welcome and sat down for our tea. The hotel is tastefully decorated. It wasn't long before our tea arrived. We received a good selection of sandwiches but the cheese and tomato were disappointing as processed cheese was used rather than fresh grated cheese. The size of the sandwiches was small but tasty. The scones were a bit disappointing as we expected home made scones but at least they were nicely warmed. Also the chocolate muffin was cut in half as was the battenburg. So it was ok but could be a lot better with a bit more attention to detail and presentation.

Visited for two nights with my mum, lovely friendly staff, nice sized room, very clean and modern with nice decoration. Will be returning!

Stayed one night on a business trip and was very impressed. Immaculately presented and staff were very helpful with taxi etc etc. Room was great, towels were fresh, nothing was too much to ask for. Centrally located just off Lord Street and all in all, a fantastic place to stay and one that I will definitely look forward to staying at again.

Had a lovely meal it was steak and wine on the voucher, the steak was perfectly cooked and this was accompanied by chips and salad I have never tasted chips like them absolutely gorgeous the wine was great too would definitely recommend this restaurant

We were very much looking forward to our mother daughter afternoon tea at The Metro but we were disappointed to find that the quality was far beneath previous experiences here. The cakes seemed like the ones you would get from Iceland and were clearly recently defrosted. One of the cakes was cut in half so we got half each. Very surprised. When we commented to the waiter he stated that it wasn't advertised anywhere that the cakes were homemade and he proceeded to mush up the chocolate slice at the table that we had complained about as it was still a bit frozen. Very strange experience and not what we had hoped for at all. Would not recommend a visit for an afternoon tea!

Went for afternoon tea and an 80th birthday afternoon, the staff catered to our every need. One of the group had allergies and couldn't have the afternoon tea deal but swapped to another dish from a different menu without issue. Staff were very attentive and prices very reasonable

We went here on a Groupon voucher. Our prosecco came quickly and was cold and bubbly, just as it should be. The afternoon tea came within about 3 minutes and consisted of 4 tuna, cheese, salmon & chicken sandwiches. The bread was cold and a bit hard, like it had been made hours before and had been left in the fridge. The sandwiches were made with poor ingredients, the cheese for example was completely tasteless. The cakes were a scone, a bakewell slice, a mini chocolate eclair and cheesecake. These were all shop bought and very much like you'd expect from Iceland's frozen party range. The coffee was filter coffee but when we finished we didn't get offered another cup.The whole thing was a bit rubbish, and as afternoon tea is supposed to be a special affair, it was miles away from hitting the mark unfortunately.

I have just returned from a function at the Metro hotel I could not fault it the food was superb and the service was excellent I would highly recommend this hotel for a function the décor is lovely and the toilets were also nicely decorated and clean

I had my 50th birthday party at The Metro in October 2015 and what a fantastic experience.Lesley and her team were wonderful throughout, planning and party itself. It was really personalised.My family and friends commented on the quality of the venue, food, bar service, DJ, hotel stay and prices.The only issue was that it was my 50th rather than 21st .I would recommend this venue and staff team without reservation !

My family, a party of 5 and I went to the Metro for our Christmas lunch and although expensive we all enjoyed it. We also booked for three of us, myself, sister and brother in law to return on New Year's Eve and paid up front total £165. Unfortunately, my sister who is wheelchair bound and a cancer patient had a fall and was unable to attend. I called in the Metro on Monday 28th Dec to unfortunately cancel our booking and was told I would get a phone call from the owner the next day to discuss a refund. Although we expected to loose the £30 deposit we never expected to loose the full amount as we were told they had already ordered the food and couldn't refund any money. As this was exceptional circumstances, I thought they would have met us half way and offered something but no not a bean. I was asked if I could come in without my sister whom I am also her carer or could I give it to someone else. So disappointed with this outcome and feel they could have made a good will gesture by offering something but alas no, we will never visit there again

Business lunch. They have an interesting menu, the price /quality ratio is good. I will probably go there again.

We went for afternoon tea for 4 people on a gloomy Saturday afternoon. We were expected, welcomed immediately and taken to a prepared table. The food came quickly and was tasty, freshly prepared and plentiful. Tea or coffee was replenished regularly by thoughtful, friendly staff. We had an enjoyable time and will definitely plan to go again. The site is convenient for Lord Street shops and overnight accomodation is available, the building is clean and attractive.

We came for 2 steak meals with wine on a groupon voucher and we had an excellent meal and enjoyed the super ambiance and exceptional service. We also treated ourselves to a sauce and seasonal vegetables and were brought a lovely dish including 3 colours of baby carrots. We also shared a wonderful pudding. It was such a good experience that with great deals on early evening meals, we immediately booked to return 2 days later

We had a lovely stay at the Metro. Before this visit we had never seen it but we are so glad we stayed and will be returning. The hotel is modern with a beautiful relaxing colour scheme. The bedrooms are of superior quality and the staff are very friendly. The breakfast was lovely and filling. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable.

Groupon Afternoon Tea whilst visiting Southport Air Show. Lovely modern hotel just a short walk from the sea front with a nice outdoor eating area. Friendly charming staff and good service. Afternoon tea was good with the tastiest scones I have had in a long time. If in the area would visit again.

Group of 20 os us went, drinks in the bar then a sit down meal, food was good and service was fast and friendly.

The food was cooked really well, the eggs were perfect, we had them poached, and was still piping hot when it reached us. Tea was good also. Maybe a choice of artisan bread would be good. Only because it's our favourite.

A lovely place to eat. Generally the service is exceptional here, and the food is lovely. The staff are friendly and professional. There is a lovely courtyard for sunny days, but sadly, they do not allow dogs in the courtyard. As there are very few dog friendly places close to the centre of Southport, we only eat here in the evening when we do not take the dogs. This restaurant is close to our locally run dog friendly B & B and it would be lovely to allow dogs in the courtyard.The food is excellent quality and varied. Good wine list and tap beers and ciders.

The wife and I stopped here for a spur of the moment lunch one Friday afternoon. The sun was blazing so we decided to dine al fresco. We both had the Panko Tiger Prawns with garlic, chilli and soy dip. They were so crispy and succulent. The dip was lovely too. Next we chose Haddock and chips with mushy peas and I had the Salmon salad with roast garlic and thyme dressing. Both meals were extremely tasty. It was simple food presented simply and cooked to perfection. All in all a really delightful lunch. The staff were very welcoming and polite especially Linda behind the bar. We didn't wait long for our food. Everything was clean and tidy. The prices were fair too. Our food was the earlybird offer. £20 total. (£10 each) Extremely good value.Somewhere we would visit again. Well done to The Metro.If you visit Southport and fancy a really nice bar lunch then you should give The Metro a go.

The staff are possibly the most apathetic and indifferent I have ever met. The food is mediocre and the prices are extortionate. Hope they had a good luck at my face as they won't be seeing it again. Rude !!!!!

I've eaten at The Metro before and enjoyed the food but my goodness £5.25 for a tiny tuna roll ! When I commented on the size I was told ' it's the quality not the quantity'! A pity cos we won't order lunch there again. There were 4 of us - the only customers in the bar for 1 and a half hours !!

Met with some of the family on a Thursday lunch time and was really impressed with the place. Kitted out all very nice toilet facilities including baby change where all fantastic and the staff where very friendly and helpful. The food was pretty god dam good to i just had roast beef and horseradish sandwich with a side of fries, the kids had spaghetti of the kids menu with garlic bread and cheese and it was all fantastic there was not a frown or pulled face in sight which is quiet a rarity with our lot!! Well done the Metro !!

I found the Metro in Southport on Groupon. Desperately needing a break I booked the 2nights for £99 which included a double room, breakfast each morning AND afternoon tea on the day of you're choice. On arrival we paid another £69 for an extra night. Lovely smell as soon as we walked in. Nice bar & restaurant. Friendly staff. Small but clean well decorated room overlooking the garden. The continental breakfast was ample & served with tea, coffee or help yourself to the milk & fresh apple & orange juice. The hotel is in town, but down a quiet street, just past the Market Hall, & a few minutes walk to Lord Street with all the shops, cafes, bars etc. The hotel is actually behind The Prince of Wales Hotel on the corner of Portland Street. We didn't use the car till the day we were coming home. However parking around the area is Pay & Display! Leave the car there for as long as you like IF you are a Blue Badge Holder! Just one problem we & other couples agreed on. The beds have mattresses on with springs, & we felt them, maybe we've just got use to our 3000 sprung with memory foam mattress. Let us know how you got on if you decide to go there. We would definitely go again, it is so convenient for everything. And if you like dining at the Hungry Monk it is just up the street, cross over the main road & into the Cambridge Walks building. We go every time we are in Southport, & the Tea Rose Cafe at the top of Lord Street just past the Bold Hotel.

Very filling afternoon tea bought as present so not sure how much it was. We had delicate sandwiches, scones and little cakes and I'm ashamed to say we ate the lot! Washed down with tea or coffee and prosseco. What a treat.

2 nights stay what a lovely little hotel very romantic mainly for couples although there was a couple of children there, breakfast was great help yourself and was plenty to eat, will be back soon.

As I was staying at Vale House for the Flower Show, I wanted somewhere close by for a small evening meal. The Metro seemed to tick the boxes. On arrival it seemed very smart and I got a glass of wine whilst having a look through the All Day Menu. Opting for something light, I went for a small portion of the Thai mussels and I asked for some bread to mop up all the lovely sauce............When my mussels arrived they were cold and dry not steaming and saucy as I had anticipated. Obviously not happy with this I sent them back and a few moments later received attempt to. These were piping hot however there was no sauce in sight which actually was not a problem as the bread had been left under the heat lamp and was inedible. As no-one came to see me to ask if everything was ok, I decided to eat the mussels and the 11 mussels which were actually in the bowl were quite tasty although sparce. The waiter who collected my plate saw the problem witht the bread and offered me a complimentary drink to compensate which was a nice gesture although I am still not sure how anyone can get mussels so wrong. The best bit about a steaming hot bowl of mussels is the yummy sauce and dry mussels are just well, bland. Maybe I ordered wrong however I will never know as I do not plan to return. Maybe I should have complained a second time but that felt rude. Maybe thats the way the dish is meant to be

I enjoyed a lovely Afternoon Tea with my husband in the garden at the Metro last week. The good was very nice and the glass of Prosecco was perfectly chilled. The staff were friendly and attentive. A truly enjoyable afternoon in the sun. We will be back again soon

Excellent food served to a large group of 23 for a 90th birthday. Couldn't fault the service or the food. Staff and owner were very attentive and couldn't do enough for us. They were very helpful in helping us plan such a special event. Will definitely be going again!!!

We visited on a Groupon deal offering tapas and wine. The bar and restaurant are modern and attractive. Service was pleasant and friendly. We ordered our inclusive glass of wine and waited for our food. After a while, a member of staff brought a complimentary second glass of wine and apologised for the wait, explaining that the kitchen was very busy.When it arrived, the food was nicely presented and was very tasty, especially the goats' cheese lollipops and the crispy belly pork.

Went here for lunch with friends. The staff were very welcoming and the prices reasonable, there were also some real ales which made for a good start. We had the £11.95 2 course set lunch. For starter I had fishcake and it was ONE fishcake (not too big) 3 of us had lambs liver which the waiter said would be pink but they were over done and I'm not sure if mine were lamb's as the had the texture of pig's livers. Overall though it was a pleasant dining experience and we would go back.Service was excellent.

Went to the The Metro on a Groupon offer for afternoon tea. A lovely place, very clean and modern and the staff were extremely helpful and very polite. The afternoon tea was sufficient, but the only criticism myself and friends have is, it would have been nice to have had our own teapot and hot water. We were not comfortable having to ask for a refill in our tea cups. We would go back as it is a lovely place. Thank you to all the staff

My friend and I shared a lovely afternoon tea at the Metro recently. The sandwiches were fresh and plentiful. The cakes divine! It was very pleasant sitting in the courtyard in the sunshine listening to the fountain. We used a Groupon deal for the first time and so it was exceptional value for money. However, we enjoyed it so much, we'll be going back next month.

This was the third time I have visited this restaurant since it was revamped and havenever been disappointed. As a relative was visiting, on this occasion we went in theearly evening and had the three course meal. You could not fault the food or the cost,which was value for money. The service was attentive but not intrusive and Jane ourwaitress was very friendly and welcoming. although the restaurant was not full it stillhad a pleasant atmosphere.

I have been walking past this hotel from the very start of the successful renovation and like many others i tend to frequent the from beer garden on a sunny day as it is a lovely sun trap. Until a few months ago unfortunately i felt as though the place was on a slight decline with regards to the exterior apperience and the quality in the food. I can not having again frequented this establishment on thursday confirm that my faith has been restored. The once blanked weed ridden pond has now been scrubbed to display it amazing white features, and although the water is still a bit murky i am sure this is due to the scrubbing and will resolve shortly.The food quality for some time has felt as thought it was depleting, especially over the past few years however whatever has been happening over the past few months has certainly made a difference. The food is again exquisite and the service felt approachable with the staff seeming happy and in a healthy work environment. I saw and spoke to youngish looking gentleman walking round in blue suit pants and blue tie, which seemed to differ to the rest of the staff however his general approach seemed a lot more personal and inter mate with the staff and a few customers i can only assume are regulars. He seemed to be ensuring all staff members were okay and even checked on ourselves with a smile and asking how we were and took the time to see what we had been up to during the day. Again i spoke to an elderly gentleman behind the bar who was very accommodating and reassured us with his knowledge of the wines as well as the other male seemed genuinely interested in us and how we were enjoying our experience.The staff are a credit to the place and i can only assume this is due to the environment that the senior management have cultivated them in. For such a homely experience from all staff, both different ages and only what i can assume different job roles I can 100% assure anyone you will not be disappointed.

I bought an afternoon tea here and was extremely pleasantly surprised. I wasn't sure what to expect when booking it but it was possibly the best one iv had, which is saying a lot. It was great value for money, the food was excellent and the staff were really friendly and couldn't do enough for us. I will definitely be going back here for another afternoon tea and to try the food as it also looked of a very high quality! The atmosphere and decor was also very nice, overall a great experience.

We stayed here on a deal linked to the Portland Hall Spa. First the bad stuff - no car park. that's it, there is absolutely nothing I could criticise about the staff, food, hotel room or location.We had bar snacks in the afternoon in the lovely seating area outside the hotel. Everything is very reasonable.The rooms are very modern, bathroom gorgeous and there is plenty of space too.The location is approx. 2 mins walk to Lord street for all the other bars and restaurants. Plus only 5 mins walk to the train station which we used instead of messing around trying to park.Will definitely be back to try their afternoon tea and stay over again :)

Went on an afternoon tea very god value for money. Very nice surroundings a efficient and pleasant staff.

The minuite we arrived we were made to feel very welcome and also we were upgraded to a king size room. Thee rooms are spotless probably one of the cleanest and modern hotels Iv ever stayed in. The staff are very helpful and very polite. Can't fault it in any way and recommend the metro to anyone wanting to stay in southport. Extremely happy :)

Lovely afternoon tea. Plenty of sandwiches and exquisite cakes. Good quality prosecco and numerous top ups of coffee. Very pleasant staff. Didn't know this place existed but will definitely be back.

.We came here this afternoon with a voucher for afternoon tea, and very impressed I was. The Metro is lovely inside very modern and well laid out, our afternoon tea was one of the best I have had, served with tea or coffee beautiful sandwiches and an assortment of cakes, the tables were well spaced out. The staff were very nice, the toilets were clean with soap and hand cream. They have an extension where a wedding party had just arrived so seemed to be a busy place. although it was really chilly there was a delightful garden at the front with a water feature and also an outside bar and massive barbaque which I am sure would be very popular on a nice summer evening. The menu looks good and prices very reasonable, I would definateley recommend this restaurant. Easy to find just behind Prince of Wales Hotel

Excellent meal and luckily a small bear festival on at same time with 7 or 8 real ales on and pleasant restaurant, a very enjoyable evening

Visited the Metro as a Group from a local Retirement Complex for Afternoon Tea, we were greeted on arrival by professional, friendly staff and shown to a lovely table all ready prepared. The service was excellent, We were served a lovely selection of fresh sandwiches along with an assortment of scones & cakes and a choice of Tea or Coffee.The restaurant area was quite busy but the staff were constantly on hand to assist in any way possible. Tea and coffee was readily topped up.It was a very pleasant experience and I would highly recommend the Metro to others.

My Mum had purchased a Groupon voucher for 4 of us to end our stay in Southport with an afternoon tea. Prior to our visit, she had contacted The Metro about their location and parking and was helpfully advised that there would be no problems. We discovered it was close enough for us to walk, so did.Upon arrival, the Manager, I think, greeted us personally, knowing exactly who we were and showed us to our table in the window. I had to visit the ladies, which were clean, high standard and with easy access for people with disabilities.The afternoon tea arrived, presented beautifully. Mum paid extra for us to have a glass of Prosecco each and our coffees were refilled without question. Despite there being no choice of sandwich or cake, we were happy to discover that the sandwiches were more than adequate, all delicious ( yes, even the ham and English mustard, that we don't normally like!)The cakes and scone were also very tasty and we were all suitably stuffed and content, taking a napkin with some sandwiches and cakes with us!We would visit again and pay full price without a thought and would highly recommend a visit if you get the chance!

I am a regular to the metro and have been going since they opened !! We absolutely love it ! Food is always perfect & staff are always very Attentive ! can't wait for the BBQs this summer !!

Just walked in on the off chance to ask if they had a table for me and my girlfriend. We got told we had to wait half hour, and I'm so glad we did because we experienced an amazing night with great surroundings and great staff with even better food. I was blown away by the blue cheese sauce with the fillet steak, and was asked personally by the owner if we had a nice night. We told her we had such a great night that we were going to write a review so here we go.....Perfect all round and thankyou for a great night!

On first walking in the Metro it was very modern and clean. We were shown to our table which was on a raised area with 4 tables. There was alread a party of 4 sat down and we were sat right next to them, we would have prefered to be seated on a table that was not right next to them as that we all did not feel as though we had to whisper. The afternoon tea consisted of 4 quater sandwiches each with crusts cut off (no choice given) 4 small cakes/bisciuts (ginger cake and 2 small coin sized shortbread held together by a teaspoon of cream and a thin slice of strawberry). 2 scones with small pot of cream (no enough between 2 ) and a small pot of Jam. Fizz was nice (125mm) and then 1 small cup coffee. We went on a wowcher deal but felt it was not worth the money

Valentine's dinner was not only a fabulous menu and reasonable but the decor was tasteful and romantic with a rose for every lady thrown in. This is quite usual for the Metro from lunches to events and dinner you can not go wrong, and the staff are friendly and helpful too.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch here. The carrot purée was excellent and all the food was cooked to a high standard. We had the dessert platter to share which was huge and included sticky toffee pud, creme brule , choc fondant , cheesecake and ice cream. The staff were very friendly and the building was nice and bright .It was nicely located just off Lord Street. Would highly recommend

spent a lovely afternoon Mum and daughter day browsing shops in Southport. Lovely lunch at the Metro. This is my second visit and again it did not disappoint. Very varied menu, I don't eat meat so was plenty to choose from.

Everything i have eaten here has been gorgeous and of a high quality. They are doing a fantastic offer, 2 courses for £9.95 17.00 - 19.00hrs, fab offer
