Caffe Nero in Sefton

Needs a good refurb as looking very tired. Bloke on till didn't bother to ask me to scan my loyalty app on my phone, and then appologised by giving me a stamped loyalty card instead, second consecutive time this guy has done this and both times too busy chatting with his colleagues.

A regular haunt of mine whether with my other half or to meet up with family or friends. Could do with a refurbishment and brighter lighting but okay otherwise.

Sometimes short staffed. Good coffee. A little 'dated'.

Lovely member of staff very polite and helpful but coffee was a bit bitter. Dog friendly.

I wish they would follow the Nero practice of putting the coffee straight on top of the hot water instead of via a glass for an americano.

Nice coffee ☕️ 😋 Bar staff are great , but depends how busy it is as sometimes a bit stressed 😅 and not making you feel welcome.

Title sums it up, staff other than Nat are awful. Place is scruffy, tables left uncleared and rubbish left on floor. Have to repeat simple orders several times and they still get it wrong. STOP taking days off, Nat !!!

A nice branch of Caffe Nero, and busy on a Saturday morning, when we visited.

Ok for a takeaway but can feel like a vets waiting room with all the dogs

Don't bother going. The opening times are largely ignored. As a regular visitor I am fed up of being told its take a away only. This has happed on a almost weekly basis.

The space is dark, it is not welcoming, looks like they are just about to close down. Shame.

Got to be the worst coffee shop o have been in. Scruffy decor, dark lighting possibly to stop you seeing the dirty floor as it looked like hasn’t seen a mop in months, and the toilet not only stunk of wee but the floor was covered in water (but could possibly have been urine) The 2 staff where totally overwhelmed with customers with no time to clean tables so lot of dirty items on tables Definitely one to avoid!

Good coffee food try the soup very good tomato and basil these also now have Christmas sandwiches they do have hand gel good spacing

We arrived an hour before closing but still met with cheerful and positive staff. Plenty of options on the coffee and cake front to choose from.

Nice staff, always really fast in the morning even during rush. Significantly faster than Costa so I've started visiting nero more. It is also dog friendly

Cafe Nero is always my favourite high street coffee house. Unfortunately at this one the Covid 19 compliance left a lot to be desired. Whilst sat opposite the counter it was piecemeal whether folk wore masks as per the instruction, only 1 person in 6 was being asked to put their mask on, glass counter surfaces were being lent on by customers and not wiped down etc - far from ideal iny opinion.

Polite and helpful staff, took a complicated order of coffees and cakes with ease - everything was promptly and perfectly prepared - infinitely better than their Costa neighbours !

Staff usually miserable, don't no why they are in the job if they are so unhappy, I've started going to independent coffee shops, appreciate your money more and so much better, don't understand why people won't try smaller businesses just give them a go rather than big chains that kill off other businesses.

Miserable staff always, never smile clearly hate the job,go elsewhere now. Also insane that they allow dogs in.

On arrival, number of tables needed clearing, not busy,one member of staff pretty sullen asked for sugar grabbed a handful and chucked it on the tray far to many.coffee okay, other than that a nice environment.

We went there today , 2 female members of staff on duty, countless tables full of dirty dishes, We looked at the ingredients on the tea cake, no candied peel was listed, which we both abhor. we ordered 2 latte's, which took ages to prepare as the 2 members of staff were too busy talking to each other, The coffee was insipid, very watery, not creamy as a latte should be. The toasted tea cake was full of candied peel, which was horrible. Not a satisfying experience, we certainly will not be returning

Got a book box for kids, good coffee shop atmosphere and staff are lovely. Oh and obviously serve the best coffee

I am a frequent customer at this Caffe Nero branch and I've always had awesome service from the team. The food is good and the restaurant is dog friendly for those with well behaved pups. The recent addition of espresso and tonic is fantastic and I would highly recommend anyone to try it.

Nice little franchise in Formby, close to Formby railway station. This venue is very popular and is opposite to Formby community market. They sell the usual high quality fayre here that you would expect from cafe Nero.

Coffee is always made perfectly, nice relaxing atmosphere. HOWEVER, service with a smile? Nope. Service comes mostly accompanied by miserable faces and minimal interaction. Shame about it.

Staff are ALL marvellous, service is knowledgeable, friendly and professional. Always worth a visit except for friday and tuesday mornings

Fab, had an amazing cream scone

Our favourite coffee shop, delicious cakes always so fresh and tasty sandwiches and toasties. We love dogs so not a problem for us that this place is full of them, however if you dont like them or are scared then its not the place for you.

Last Sunday afternoon we went out for a coffee only to find the coffee shop full of dogs (at least 7or 8) whilst I like dogs myself I do think they should not be allowed in places that serve food and drink. Other than that the coffee is very good and the staff also are very friendly.

Always a decent, properly made drink here. Very rare to have to get a cappuccino re-made again unlike some other well known chains that seem to fail constantly to do them right. This place is due for a bit of a refurb, otherwise it would be 5 stars.

Pricey but all coffee shops are but damn fine coffee and cakes!

Always enjoy visiting this Caffe Nero. Always relaxed with very good coffee. The cafe is situated in Formby Village and is perfect for a mid-morning coffee.

We came here as the Costa is always full of kids.. rookie mistake. Nero was full of babies who all seemed to be hungry or teething or just mightily pissed off. Coffee was great tho!

Always popular here. Good coffee easy chairs and sofas to slump in. Dogs allowed in here. You can sit and chat as long as you want without hassle. Toilets superficially clean but the door plates and handles could do with a good bleaching.

Great little place. The hot chocolate is cheaper than Costa. The staff will kick idiots out. Go there 🙌 ( and try the gingerbread hot chocolate 😋)

called in after a wet and windy walk around the woods, I do enjoy the nero coffee, it's stronger and has more depth the visit, and this is seeming like a common theme when I review places was ruined by dogs. Why are animals that have obviously been running around either the beach or the pine woods be allowed, it honestly drives me mad, it is like every cafe, everywhere now allows dogs because they think that the owners won't come in and spend their money otherwise, and my opinion, whether you like it or not is that it shouldn't be allowed

Go in Nero regularly. Nat and Annie are lovely and are always pleasant and make good coffee. One of the servers is awful, I think she has come as a stand in from another shop. she talks all the time and doesn't listen to what the customer wants. The place is always dirty now that dogs are allowed in. I have seen dogs licking tables, trays, sitting on chairs on customer's knees, they sniff and lick around the stand where popcorn and crisps are and the fridge. it is madness that they are allowed in at all. It is unhygienic and makes the place smell. plus the noise when they start barking is unacceptable when you are paying to have a quiet coffee. Get the dogs out, there is no need for them to be inside at all. Toilets are also dirty and unhygienic, they need to be completely overhauled. floors are always wet from either a leaking loo, or urine, hand dryers are dirty and they smell. Nero must make enough for a revamp of this deteriorating shop.

Caffe Nero in Formby is my coffee shop of choice. The staff are good, both very professional and friendly, though I must admit there has been a slight drop in the friendlyness side recently. For example, no longer a cheery goodbye as you leave (but as they are busy I can understand).

I'm more a fan of Costa as far as the taste of coffee is concerned. I find Nero's rather bitter.

The staff are always pleasant and helpful, coffee and cakes etc are reasonably priced , the only downside is the cafe is calling out for a deep clean and redecoration and pictures put back on to the walls. Come on Cafe Nero ,get your act together.

Staff always very friendly and attentive. Great Nero coffee served very well. Could do with a new awning and chairs outside (looking a little shabby), but nice inside. Always a smile first thing in the morning and at the end of the day.

Went in yesterday for a coffee, just two comments. The Sicilian lemon cheesecake has been changed (in other Neros too) to a cheaper quality synthetic one so no more for me, and the staff weren't the enthusiastic ones in other reviews. Teach them to smile and apply exceptional customer service please. Let's raise the standards in our cafes especially where they charge £2.90 for a coffee.

Nice to have a coffee bar which allows you to take your dog inside with you. Really good atmosphere. Plenty of people in there on a Sunday - some with (well behaved) dogs and some without dogs.

Friendly staff and the Best Coffee in the town ☕

I visited here yesterday after doing some shopping, it is not my usual pit stop, but there are not many cafe's to choose from in Formby so I thought I would give it a go. I had a free range egg sandwich, tea and a mince pie with cream - all of which were lovely, however, I thought £2.00 for one mince pie and an extra 40p for a bit of cream a bit steep but it was delicious.

Dissapointing to see about four large dogs in this coffee shop. Not everyone likes sitting near dogs when paying for coffees and a bite to eat especially when you have a child with asthma and an animal allergy. We had to leave straight away after paying nearly 20 quid. When did dogs become acceptable In an eating establishment?

Good Atmosphere, coffee is nice and the seating is very comfortable.
