Service was great, no problem. However the steak let the meal down. Asked for medium rare, but because it was served on a skillet the carried on cook. By the time it was served, the steak was well done.

Amazing service from the manger dave and Natalie and the waitress megan we had a fantastic time! We loved the food we will be back

Just another terrible pub. Food took forever to arrive and when it did, it was below average. Atmosphere was that of a closed morgue. Just a dreadful place overall.

As a veggie it made a change to have something that isn't pasta, I had the vegan sticky ribs which was delicious and the other people with me enjoyed their meals. Lady behind the bar was a bit miserable but we thoroughly enjoyed the visit, will definitely go again.

Merebrook Pub is an huge disappointment. With no air conditioning, it felt stifling inside. They served wine in tumbler glasses—how unrefined! The kids' fish finger meal was a sad plate of cold chips and just two fish fingers. To top it off, the apple pie was frozen, and the profiteroles were equally unappetizing. Save your time and money!

Winners of the rudest bar staff award 2023-2024 always rude. Some of the male bar staff have an indifferent attitude. Always a degree of rudeness.

The staff were friendly and welcoming. The food was great and arrived quickly. The toilets and baby change facilities were clean. Overall it was a very good visit.

Great pub overall. The food is great as always & i am a regular customer with family or friends. However, when going to eat there is a lot of reservation on the tables to eat. When paying attention to the people coming in & when I go in to eat, there is a lot of wandering about from everyone to find a table available without having restrictions on time to give the table up. A first come first serve basis would be better. J.

Recent visit to Merebrook was a reminder of how good this local pub can be. Visited with friends for food, which was of quality that had to ask for chefs name as steak was cooked perfect thanks chef John. Natalie made night perfect by accepting all visitors were there to enjoy each others company and left intrusive flashing lights off, well done Natalie, music stayed at good background level allowing conversation not shouting level. Bar staff are credit for their helpfulness Thanks James, Megan & Lucy. Can we enjoy this atmosphere every week please? I guarantee number of drinkers would go back to old levels & not mass exodus as flashing lights go on & volume cranks up. Great night thanks to all.

Sorry, I rarely write bad reviews, but our meal for 6 was really poor. On the plus side there was a 40% off meal deal. The service was good too, both the friendly waitress and the barman. The food was a big disappointment though. We all went for Ultimate plates; 1 was good, 1 was OK, 1 was below average (fried egg forgotten too) and 3 were dreadful - My beef rib was so overcooked, although I ate it, it really wasn't nice (and mac cheese forgotten). The 2 chicken Gyros were even more burnt, charcoal on the sizzler. We were given 3 free deserts that were very nice.

Currently work within the company great atmosphere, great to talk with Dave again who runs the pub, will definitely visit again.

Been to the merebrook before and the food previously was spot on, so after getting a fine at the clipper despite putting reg into machine, we decided to go back to the merebrook as it’s the same menu. Unfortunately tonight the kitchen staff were not up to standard, as the steak could of got up and returned to the field , despite being asked to be cooked medium to well done, and the chicken could of been resuscitated by a good vet as there were some parts not properly cooked.

After spending £85 on lunch and drinks some weeks later I receive a parking fine for £100 claiming I was not given permission to park in pub car park.Beware. Make sure your car registration is recorded by pub before even ordering any food/ drinks at this location

Took my dad for a meal for fathers day and it was one of the nicest meals I have had, I ordered a steak which was cooked perfectly and my dad got a burger which he loved. Levi and nathalie were both very welcoming and kind. Would definitely recommend😀

Lovely pub,friendly staff,nice Guinness 👍,good for sports, good atmosphere when football is on,good selection of beers wines and spirits and real ales,quiz,live music, didn't eat,so can't comment on the food,but,plenty of people were, clean,loos spotless,hot water and soap, just a nice place to go to,to drink, and or eat ,and to relax, Bromborough station next door, and a regular bus service 38,41 and 42s,go and enjoy, you won't be disappointed 😀

What a fantastic little pub. Our bar man, James Yeardsley is an absolute credit to your bar. He was very hospitable and makes a fantastic lager shandy. Will definitely be back with all my mates

I don't normally take to Tripadvisor but felt I had to on account of your special barman James. He made an already good birthday do a brilliant one. He bravley dealt with our rowdy party with a sile on his face. He deserves recognition.

Took the family here for the first time recently and was absolutely delighted with the fabulous service, especially from our bar man James Yeardsley. Not only was he brave taking a large order but he even brought the drinks over to us with a cheeky smile. Everyone loved it. Will definitely be back!

So went to The Merebrook today for the First time with my fiancee, Our Two Daughters and my Father in-law and my Mother in-law. We arrived at 1pm and had booked a table for Six of us, We had a nice big table, the pub/restaurant was really quiet and we ordered drinks(2 pints of Guinness, Bottle of water, half a pint of San Miguel, Pint of San Miguel and a pint of Coke with ice). Then we went to the bar to order our food my mother and father in-law had sausage and mash with garden peas and lashings of gravy, I opted for the Curry feast(Chicken Tikka masala, Skin on Fries, Side salad, Chicken Tikka skewer, 2 onion bhaji's, Naan bread, Poppadoms and mango chutney and garlic and yoghurt sauces), 2x Surf and Turfs(Steak and Scampi), Hunters chicken with fries). Food came quite quick, Food was well presented and generous portions, Food was hot, tasty and we all enjoyed our food very much, Only negative is the Surf and Turf we didn't get the Turf(Fish) but mistakes happen. We then ordered another round of drinks which were ice cold, crisp and went down a treat. Restaurant was clean, ample parking(Make sure you enter your registration on the computer near the bar so you don't get a parking ticket/fine). Polite and friendly staff, Food was great, service was good and we definitely enjoyed ourselves. 5☆ We highly recommend The Merebrook.

Fast and efficient service. Food was excellent. Great value and served hot. Been over the last 4 weeks and can't fault it, would recommend it to anyone. But, make sure you book as it's very popular. Natalie was very helpful when I needed to book a table, will continue to go bavk agaib, again and again.

Went to an 18th party here and it was great, would definitely consider it for functions in the future. The food is great as well as the staff and people inside the pub who were really friendly. I'll be coming again.

Just been for dinner and both orders should have had onion rings and one should have had cheese slice. Complained to waiter who said the bar staff should have told us when ordered meal that they had run out of onion rings which they did not. No explanation for lack of cheese slice. Could they not go along to the Co-op and bought some!

One of our meals was burnt when returned we were told that's how it should be I thought lasagne had a sauce not black bits on the bottom my husband then had to wait a further 15min by which time all others had finished there meal

Another lovely meal at the merebrook new menu is great and lots to choose from. Dave and Nat are always very welcoming. Look forward to our return.

The place is a absolute joke. Miserable staff and appalling service. We booked our table for 6pm and when we asked for our table the miserable barman said its over there where your name is!! Terrible attitude. Tried to order our food at the bar and they were understaffed and especially when there was a barman sitting on a laptop who could see i was waiting. My wife and i walked out in the end. This place needs closing or staff who actually smile and show polite service.

Our server Molly was absolutely amazing and so kind! She was always smiling and provided everything that we needed in a timely manner☺️ The food was great and we had a lovely family evening!

So angry! They have "download our APP" adverts everywhere with the following incentives: 1: "Have a drink on us" - a free drink from a selection. 2: "Free Mother's Day Gin & Tonic" - a Voucher. I downloaded the APP and there was no "Free Drink" voucher. The Gin & Tonic Voucher was there so I tried to use it. A very abrupt bar lady said "The till won't accept the voucher so you can't use it". I politely "appealed" and she got angry saying "the APP had nothing to do with the pub and I should complain to them". She then went on to say "...you're not having a free drink..." making me feel like I was a scammer or dishonest. Overall, poor customer service and a very unwelcoming approach by the staff and pub.

Bang average. Not a great selection of beers, the ordering app doesn’t always reflect what they have which must be frustrating for the bar staff. Food is fine, no problems there, standard pub grub. Edit 2024: getting worse. Ludicrously slow service. An hour and a half for food, but we weren’t told till after we paid. It wasn’t even that busy. Staff seem very unhappy, perhaps there isn’t enough of them. Tables left uncleared for over an hour. In an era of very good micro pubs locally and good independent restaurants at a similar price point, it’s amazing they’re surviving

Visited The Merebrook Saturday afternoon. It was quite busy but great atmosphere. We ordered food via the bar. Mac n cheese, southern fried chicken wrap, halloumi fries and a skillet meal. All meals were thoroughly enjoyed. There were 2 staff on the bar. The one that helped us was very chatty and friendly, welcoming. Returned Saturday evening for a friends party. Function room great space and the buffet was fantastic. I definitely have this as a no 1 venue for food and socialising.

Order the old faithful chicken burger on most visits , supposed to come with barbecue sauce.never arrives with it, I ask politely but I’m then asked have you paid for it! Last time the waiter took the menu to the chef to prove it came with it. 😂😂which it says on the menu with barbecue sauce !!

Awful from start to finish, customer service unfriendly and unhelpful: food below par. Ordered at 5:05 and didnt get food until 6:35 after asking after an hour of waiting we were told that we should of been aware of 40 minute wait however it had still gone over that anyway - no apology. Then when the food came my order was wrong and the server replied well thats what it was put through as placed it infront of me and stormed off. My mums meal was not “sizzling” the veg was soggy and cold. We went to have an easy and enjoyable dinner before getting on the train to go to the theatre - instead we missed 3 trains waiting for rubbish food and ended up driving and being late for our show. We didnt bother leaving and getting a refund as we thought that would probably be difficult for the staff too, considering management were in and completely unaware of what was going on around them. I wonder why the chef was on zoom to a call for 30 minutes with what looked like the manager while guests were sat twiddling their thumbs and as soon as she went back into the kitchen the food started to come out. Very odd, i know its a wednesday night but it was busy and the standard of service or urgency to deliver good food to customers should be maintained everyday. Won’t be returning and won’t be recommending either, what a shame and waste of money.

Doesn't even warrant 1 star, food is terrible order was not what we ordered was kept waiting last Wednesday for over one and a half hours, for two main courses. No apology, will never go their again awful place.

We went 9th January wanted to have couple of drinks and a meal, was so cold we didn't eat, did ask barstaff to put heating on, was cold and icy, why would you pay to drink there in the cold when you could stay at home in the warm?

Disappointing, wrong food, dirty glass and 35 minutes for dessert to arrive

First time eating there and loved it. Food was great and our server Kian Saunders was outstanding. Polite and couldn’t do enough to make sure we had everything. We will eat there again.

We had Christmas dinner for 9 people, it was absolutely brilliant, the food was lovely the staff were great.

Large pub with a nice food menu, secluded areas and some areas not so secluded. Outside seating that you can order to and where the dog can relax while you eat. Mega mixed grill came out perfectly, was only halfway through my drink when it arrived, the steak came cooked to my liking (asked at the time of ordering) and was a good enough meal that I had to really think about a desert!

Lovely breakfast and the service was great. The Elf was the better out of the two even though he was too tall for the room
