Excellent food and great service. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and the service is very attentive throughout. The surroundings are smart and comfortable, with tables for couples and for larger parties. The food is excellent, with a good range of dishes, which are always well cooked and well presented. I've been many times with a number of different friends; everyone has been impressed by the food and the service, and no-one has ever been disappointed. Best food I've found in the area, and good value for money. They have a very good website, and some interesting offers if you want to visit mid-week.

The food was the best tasting food I've had in entire UK. A few people in the group were vegetarian and we ordered pumpkin curry and others ordered fish, both of which were amazing.

What a wonderful evening, the food was outstanding, the seabass was exceptional and there are just 2 places that I would eat it, this would make 3, but one is now closed so I will still stand at 2. It felt as if we had hired the whole of the restaurant just for us as the service was so good. There are very few restaurants that I can say I’ve been to and have just about eaten everything that has been put in front of me, it was that delicious. Somewhere I would definitely go again and most highly recommend that you go try for yourselves.

This place is so welcoming. The food is delicious, especially the sea bass. Also been to their tribute nights ,they're amazing value and lots of fun. I've never had it but also have a child menu available.

The food was of very good quality and the service from the waiting staff was very good. Sadly we were one of only two tables in what is quite a large restaurant.

On Saturday 9th Dec 2023 we were at Sunlight for the 3 course meal and entertainment, which was Andy James as Elvis. The food was so much better than the previous year in December. Staff were friendly and pleasant. The bar bill was reasonable. Andy James was exceptional and had them up dancing the night away. Great audience interaction and involvement. Andy and crew are truly professional and give a 1st class outstanding performance. We are looking forward to Andy's return. A show not to be missed.

Super fun night at the 80's do at Sunlight with good friends, food was excellent, delicious and hot. Red wine very good and reasonably priced. Singer superb and she got everyone up dancing, the minute she started singing. We all had a great laugh and most people on our table got dressed up

Had my 60th here avoid at all costs ! £13.50 per head for buffet that looked like a child’s party ! And hardly any food ! Unironed table cloths , grubby conservatory ( where food was served was more like a storage room!) emailed the manager he hasn’t even bothered to reply !!! AVOID

Went to the soul/motown night on sat. And what a night the welcome from the friendly staff was great, the food was excellent all 3 courses were lovely, finally the entertainment was 1st class great night

Visited on a Sunday and told to sit where we like. Plenty of room and not many people dining. We were seen quickly and our drinks and order taken. We opted for Sunday roast, bit of a wait considering how quiet it was but not too long. The food was presented very well and was delicious. Good portion and loads of flavor. Interior was nice and the staff were all great. They also do themed nights with entertainment. Will certainly return.

We visited on a random Tuesday afternoon after some local shopping. The waitress was nice and we were able to pick our table. We both ordered the pie one steak and ale and one chicken, ham and leek. The atmosphere was dampened by the soundtrack of downbeat tunes. The food arrived and was presented well I soon discovered the mushrooms in my pie that had not been listed as thankfully I only dislike mushrooms and don’t have an allergy, and I did mention this to the waitress who did offer to swap the pie for a different one. The pie pastry was a little hard and needed a firm knife to get through. The thick cut chips looked good but the centres were not soft and fluffy but still had a bite in the middle.

Food and service was amazing. Presentation and flavour of the food was second to none. Place definitely deserves to be busier.

First time I've been, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by not just the food but the staff as well . We had the 3x10 tapas, which was very filling and absolutely delicious, food presentation was superb, and everything was cooked perfect . Interior of the restaurant is modern and clean with a nice decor. The staff are the finishing touch to a good experience here , very polite and attentive not overbearing and annoying like I have groan to expect . For me a winner of a night out, my only moan is they didn't have Stella on tap, but that would've just been too good ha ha 😉.

A friend and I went for a catch up lunch and were pleasantly surprised to find that the a la carte menu had 50% off starters, mains and desserts. The food was freshly cooked and even though it wasn’t very busy we weren’t made to feel rushed at all. What made the experience was our waitress Lucy. She was friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely return.

A family celebrating grandchildren's & great grandma's birthday. What an awful experience , despite all the food being pre ordered & a deposit been paid it did not run smoothly. Meals returned as inedible other food badly presented & cooked. Food left on the plates as it was just not good. We felt for the young lady who was serving us as she had to deal with the issues. No management in sight. It wasn't even that the restaurant was busy as there was only another small party in. We were polite & respectful of the young lady serving us but it was very embarrassing to keep calling her over. We booked the meal early as great grandma eats early & she was the last one to be served & by then she could not eat it. What a dampener to a special event. We were told we would not have to pay for the meals returned & we were given a £20 discount (on a party of 15) but all we wanted was a nice meal with our family. We certainly won't be returning.

Had my daughters baby shower here today. Can not fault it one bit. Lovely venue, the afternoon tea was absolutely delicious!! And the staff were absolutely brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble. Went to this restaurant to celebrate my grandsons christening have been to Sunlight to celebrate different events and the food has always been lovely . This time chips were not the nice chunky chips just hard french fries the sandwiches really dried up . Last time we went was October for my daughter's baby shower the staff would put a bowl of chips on different tables and a selection of sandwiches really nice This time they put the food on a small table for guests to help themselves. Did complain to the manager not interested. Will not be going back .

Firstly, the food is overpriced. Saying that the chef didn’t feel happy sending out ribs (rather just admitting you’d run out) and then sending out a steak so overdone I could have made shoes from it and gammon so black it was inedible, was clearly just a lie. We have came here for many years but noticed over the past two years that food quality had slipped. We decided to give it another try with the current offer on (50% off starters, mains and desserts on Mondays and Tuesdays throughout September) and so glad we did. The food we had was lovely. We had 3 courses (mine: Autumn Veg Soup, Chicken with garlic mushrooms and fondant potatoes and treacle tart). Well worth taking advantage of the offer to dine in on these days! My sons portions were a really good size for him that he couldn't finish. Husband had meat and potato pie which was delicious and again a good size. Restaurant was empty so plenty of seating. Hopefully word gets out that food standards are on the up.

Was quite a disappointing experience in all fairness. Food was pretty average, one of our party ordered the tomato soup for starter but was only told moments before the other starters arrived that it was actually a totally different soup. I ordered the fillet steak and asked for it to be medium rare but it came out pretty much well done. Wouldn’t go back which is a shame
