Was recommended so we thought we would give it a try! Price was good.., around £15 for a roast beef and all the trimmings! Flavour was on point, plenty of food on the plate! I’ve been to places where we’ve paid £22 for a similar quality but smaller quantity! Spotless as well, lovely decor! Our new go to for Sunday lunch I think! Definitely recommend!

Had an hour and an empty stomach to fill. The Mayflower did both commendably. It's a well well frequented pub/restaurant and practically every seat was taken. Plenty of effortless hubbub. I went for the rack of ribs and was ABSOLUTELY NOT DISAPPOINTED!! It's a bit of a thing with me. I love ribs. I always choose them. I'm always disappointed. NOT THIS TIME! Succulent, fall apart, deliciously and generously seasoned. Chips were equally good. Staff were attentive and quick. Top notch. Very happy I decided not just twiddle my thumbs in the car for an hour.

The plate of rolls was a 'bread sharing platter' at a ridiculous £9 for four rolls, and absolutely awful olives (could get better at the corner shop - no exaggeration). The seafood sharer at £23 was tasty enough but the only items not deep fried were the prawns and the smoked-something pate. If the seafood sharer was the only thing we had ordered we would have left hungry. It came with, wait for it, two slices of ciabatta. As a sharing platter?! The only reason we left full was that they brought us an extra four rolls! In their favour, the waitron was delightful, and they didn't charge us for the two plates of rolls. It was also nice that the young 'senior waitron' (definitely not a manager in sight) stood up to say goodbye with good grace. The place has very little atmosphere to speak of. (And, by the way, the 'beer garden is right next to and no hedge to the busy road.) I asked AI to tone my review down a little, and it only managed a little: 'Here’s a polite but firm revision: We were quite disappointed with the value and quantity of food, particularly for the prices charged for the bread sharing platter and seafood sharer. The bread sharing platter was £9 for just four rolls, accompanied by olives of very poor quality—honestly, we've had better from a corner shop. The seafood sharer, while tasty, was £23 and consisted mostly of deep-fried items, with only the prawns and a smoked pâté providing non-deep-fried variety. It was far from substantial; had we only ordered that, we would have left hungry. Calling the seafood and two slices of ciabatta a “sharing platter” felt like an oversight. The only reason we left feeling full was that the staff kindly brought us an additional four rolls at no extra charge. On the positive side, the waitstaff were delightful, and the young senior server saw us off graciously. However, the venue itself lacked atmosphere, and the "beer garden" was right next to a busy road with no hedge or barrier to improve the ambiance. While we appreciated the service, the overall experience did not justify the high cost, and we hope the establishment considers adjusting either portion sizes or pricing to better reflect the value offered.' The image shows two plates of food. - **Plate 1 (Seafood sharer, left):** £23 - A small cast-iron pot containing prawns in a buttery sauce garnished with a lemon wedge. - Two slices of ciabatta bread. - Several pieces of deep-fried seafood, including fish goujons and breaded calamari. - A ramekin of a pale sauce, likely tartar sauce, and another dish with a yellow creamy sauce. - **Plate 2 (Bread sharer, right):** £9 - Four small bread rolls with different textures and toppings (e.g., seeds, herbs). - A ramekin of green olives. - A small dish of butter and another with balsamic vinegar and olive oil for dipping.

Returned to this pleasant pub which has tasty food. Generous portions. Popular and noisy and regularly used by locals for a good feed. Pleasant efficient young staff. Best to book and ask for table in quieter area as lots of shouty elderly ladies seem to often attend as a group and shrieked away while we were there. As a result everyone else starts raising their voices. Prices seemed reasonable and better than some other restaurants in the area. In good weather it's nice to sit outside. Play area for kids too. We hadn’t been to the Mayflower before, having driven past it on numerous occasions. I am so glad my wife and I called in on the spur of the moment a few weeks ago and have been back several times since. One of us has a range of food allergies, and it is sometimes problematic to choose food from a given menu. Not so for the Mayflower, who have a wonderful chef and staff prepared to change things to accommodate our unusual requests. The food tastes delicious, is freshly prepared in generous quantities and great value for money. This is a wonderful place to eat, and highly recommended.

Always a fantastic experience at the Mayflower. This time we sat down for a quiet Sunday meal with our young family. The roast dinners were OUTSTANDING. The chef really appears to put their heart and soul into the food, it’s delicious! The staff, although young, are enthusiastic, polite, friendly and seem to really enjoy working there. Toilets are clean and well stocked up with toilet roll and soap. Play area wasn’t tried as the weather was poor but the fact that it has one is always a win! We didn’t take our dog this time as wanted to sit on the more comfortable carpeted area but if you want to bring your pooch, they welcome you in the bar area! If you want to sit inside it’s always best to book (especially a dog friendly table!) as the place can sometimes be very busy.

Very long wait for food, starters were very good, but the time between starters and mains arriving was so long, we thought about paying up and leaving. It was supposed to be a treat for a friend who goes there frequently, and she knew what she was going to order without looking at the menu "It's superb." When the mains finally arrived, they were all but cold, poorly cooked and looked very unappetising. Our regular friend was hugely disappointed at what is usually her favourite choice, I had the same on her advice - also very poor. Our other friend had something different but said it was flavourless apart from the dressing which she described as sickly. None of us finished our meals, maybe it was an off day or a stand-in chef, but the service was painfully slow, yet new arrivals were being served their food long before ours arrived. Service was not top of their priorities, "We are understaffed at the moment." So understaffed that there was just one person working the bar whilst the other three stood around chatting on the customer side of the bar. First time there and probably the last, a shame as I was looking forward to it as we're my companions.

Having just left the Mayflower I can’t help but feel massively disappointed and extremely confused. Firstly I will state the food was very enjoyable and this review isn’t to detract from that. However what ensued around being able to eat our food was strange in the least. As a group consisting of 5 adults and 3 children, we initially set up in the garden as it was a pleasant evening and the children were playing. We ordered food, and in the wait that took place (a little longer than expected it not out of the ordinary) it began to rain. We tried to move inside before our food was ready and approached a member of staff stood in front of the dining area, which at best was a third full. We asked for a table of 5 please with 2 high chairs. They didn’t have any available. Not a problem we don’t mind pushing two tables together and we can make it work we suggested. As another group who had just come from inside literally did in front of us. We can’t do that we aren’t allowed to move the tables. To cut a long story short this exchange went back and forth and we were repeatedly told the tables car be moved. In the idle of attempting to resolve this the server walked off to the kitchen and returned saying your foods ready where will you be sitting. So despite three different people within our group attempting to resolve the problem of why we couldn’t sit inside, we ended up sitting outside with 3 children under an umbrella in the rain. Our server brings our food out in the middle of the downpour which naturally gets a wash in the rain on its way to us. Having previously asked to speak to a manager or such, and being told we couldn’t because there wasn’t anyone, a man who introduced himself to be the landlord then came out to us midway through our meals. He then set about telling us that we had it all wrong and that they were saying that we would loose two seats if we push the tables together, questioning our version of events and insinuating we were lying. Which considering we were sitting in the rain eating with our children and there was a bar area full of people who witnessed what had occurred and also couldn’t believe what was taking place, seems a little strange. After eventually hearing what we had to say, not once was an apology offered and the landlord walked off without saying anything further. Such a shame as even with being soggy the food was good and good portion sizes and until this happened we had been enjoying a lovely evening for an unplanned special occasion in what seemed like a nice place.

Excellent food at this pub as always, we decided on burgers today. Would 100% recommend all of theirs, today was the halloumi, the mayflower and the black and blue. It is an extensive menu and most everything I have tried is very good, and shall definitely be returning. Two of us opted to go without the included fries and try the pizza loaded fries side instead, I would not recommend this as while okay did not warrant the price. The camembert however was thoroughly enjoyed as usual! Accessibility seems alright with it all being on one floor, however the front door lip is similar to a house door and the doorways themselves are narrow so I don't think they could accommodate a wheelchair although a pram does fit.

i good to begin with.Had Sunday roast lamb. Never seen a leg of lamb that I could carve in very thin strips 2 inches wide by 4 inches long with an inch of pure fat down the side Very tough could not cut it ,pulled a piece off but was to tough to chew and tasteless. Cabbage was raw may have been shown a saucepan of hot water for no more than a minute,it was cold. roast parsnip woody down middle could not eat Roast potato should be crisp on outside was soft and tasted awful did not taste anything like potato.1 piece of carrot that was cooked but all veg was cold. also said about the horrible potatoes and did not eat. I called waitress that took our order and told her the dinner was inedible and she apolagised and took it back to the kitchen. She returned and said the chef said it would be a few minutes but he/she would do more lamb. What were they going to do with it. I said I would rather have the chicken. When my dinner came back it was the same vegonthe plate and I know this because I could see the pepper I had put on it. The roast chicken was a piece of breast about 2 inches square and an inch thick with a wing bone stripped of meat sticking out. I would have expected a whole side of breast or sliced breast or a leg. Again everything was cold. I did not eat any of it as by now I am afraid of food poisoning as the dinner had been dished up for at least 15 minutes by now without being kept hot. The waitress said if we went there again we could ask for the veg to be cooked more.. When the waitress came to clear the table I would have expected her to ask if there was something wrong as I had not eaten any of my dinner.but she didn't say anything. another waitress came and asked if we would like a dessert menu and we said no just the bill.My daughter had been watching the staff all stood at the bar talking and looking over at us,so obviously talking about my complaint. We thought we would at least get a reduction on the bill but in fact they had charged for the roast lamb that was £2 more than the chicken. I would have thought having complained about the meal and then iwent back to the kitchen uneaten the manager or the chef would have come and spoken to us,but nothing. I don't know about the rest of their menu the place was busy but only 2 other people had the Sunday roast. I would not go back again as they were not interested enough in my dissatisfaction to even come and discuss it with.me. We went to a Pop-in restataunt nearby and had dessert and coffee but could still taste the horrible potato that we only ate a small piece of.

We went here yesterday (31.10.22) for afternoon roast with 2 toddlers and a dog, although originally the booking was messed up and there was a slight inconvenience when we first turned up the staff did all they could do to rectify the issue and accommodate us. The food portions were so good, even the childrens portions were good. We took so much home. The food is delicious. But I wanted to leave a review because the staff were so friendly, always asking us if the food was okay or if we need anything. Especially the young girl who served us, she played with my little one whilst I was trying to sort out all our bags and deal with my other child. Things like that are so simple, yet really appreciated. Great food, great staff!

Pleasant place with good lunch and drinks. Popular and almost full when we visited on a Wednesday lunchtime. Good and efficient staff. Manageress Naomi was welcoming. We'll return and recommend. Congested car park due to street residents also using it. Hope it's not hit by looming national cost of living blitz.

Harmless, though uninspired, food for adults, the stuff they like for the little 'uns. Including a couple of beers for dad and granddad and some soft drinks for mum and two small children, a bill of £62 for 2 kids and 3 adults was decent value.

Went for Sunday lunch and it was super average, even below for the price. Just one tiny slither of beef and the gravy was super watery and thin :( left feeling hungry

We had the burger and hotdogs. Very very average burger, same for the overpriced h/dog and drinks (glad when we had finished it) nothing to recommend ,unfortunately Iwon’t be coming back again. Gone down hill since previous visits some years ago. Burger was over cooked and too compressed and lacked any real depth of flavour . Music blaring even though only three couples in the place . Paying for the name, Butchers counter a bit of a charade and more of a marketing exercise than what was one a proper butchers selling produce.

We used the pub for my father's wake. Lovely open fires. Staff were excellent, as was the food.

I can only confirm Green Delight Bakery is an absolute gem in the heart of Wooburn Green! I can't really understand where the complaints are coming from. My son regularly asks me to stop by for a full English breakfast/brunch after his Sunday matches and every bite is always fresh and delicious. I generally go for the eggs Benedict, the poached eggs are cooked to perfection—silky yolks that melt in my mouth. The ingredients are clearly top-quality, and the service is warm and welcoming. A must-visit spot! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
