The Masala Express in Cardiff

Although I clearly mentioned in the instruction that the food should have proper salt and be medium spiced, but it was really very sweet and felt like having a dessert.

El paneer como un lado era absolutamente precioso y felizmente tendría un par de ellos en lugar del plato principal. El precio es realmente muy competitivo también. El único problema fue que, a pesar de haber pedido por adelantado a la mitad del día un tiempo de entrega de 20:20 a 20:30, no apareció hasta las 21:30. Dicho esto, les daré otra oportunidad y, con un poco de suerte, aparecerá de manera más oportuna.

Tenía una entrega para llevar desde aquí a nuestro regreso de vacaciones. Esta fue la primera vez que hemos utilizado este lugar, estaba un poco preocupado ya que los precios eran bastante bajos. Llegó a tiempo, era muy sabroso y abundante (lo suficiente para mañana :)). Sin duda este nuevo uso lejos currybtake!

Tandoori chicken was very dry the onion sauce made up for it and was excellent

I won't be ordering from this take away again. Apart from food coming on time.. the food was disgusting to eat an had to throw it away. Lamb an chicken was very chewy and all the dishes had food colouring in them which stained the plates I dished up on. Very unpleasant food.

Masala Empire have become our go-to Indian takeaway and I'm particularly fond of their chicken tikka masala. We did find that the sauce was a bit watery, but otherwise the meal was up to their usual standard. Good size portions.

Bits of gristle in the chicken jalfrezi put me right off overpowered with corriander too greasy and cold way over priced for the quality very disappointed

Was a little frustrated that the restaurant added an additional 15 minutes to the delivery time after ordering. However saying that the delivery arrived early so it was all ok in the end. Food was lovely, big pieces of chicken and very tasty and flavoursome, a tiny bit greesy on the jalfrezi but nothing horrendous. Will definitely be ordering again from here.

Food ordered for 8.30pm turned up at 6 and was delivered to another member of the family. We returned to stone cold food. Chips were awful reheated. Very disappointing from a usually reliable and enjoyable takeaway.

Lovely food. But Lacking in meat quantity and didnt come with any Salad or sauce (mint/onions) etc which makes a difference to meal.. fresh is nice to have 😞

Order here more-or-less biweekly, it is our favourite. However, the Saag Aloo was unfortunately missing from our order :(

Cheap and cheerful, a great no frills take away

Chips came and tasted like they were cooked this morning and were cold which is annoying because you can't reheat chip so had to throw them in bin, rice and curry came freezing but chucked it in the microwave and it tasted nice

Absolutely amazing set meal deal! Been ordering for about a year and it's consistently been outstanding. Plus the vindaloo actually has a decent level of heat, unlike a lot of the restaurants around here!

Been ordering for 18 months. Last night's order was terrible. Waited 2 hours for delivery, mint sauce was spicy and madras was like eating a Phaal. Contacted the store today, he was the most arrogant, unhelpful, uninterested person you could ever imagine. Won't be ordering ever again after that conversation.

I was a bit skeptical after seeing reviews saying it was taking around 2 hours to get food that was then cold but after ordering I had absolutely no problem! It stated it would be delivered at 7:35 and it came at 7:37 which was only 40 minutes delivery time over to st mellons. The food was piping hot the chips were still perfectly fine and the both curries we ordered were absolutely gorgeous. The delivery driver was also nice and polite. Would definitely order again

Long time customer of the massala empire, and over time the quality has ranged from average to good, however, tonights meal was the best Ive ever had from any indian delivery and better than most sit downs ive had - beautiful mixed starter,lovely tandoori grill and the best peshwari naan ever (not dry and flaky).Keep up the good work

Meal delivered on time and hot. Naans were lovely. Order regularly from this place and the curries are usually really nice but this time, despite being tasty, all dishes were INCREDIBLY oily. There was half an inch of oil on top of mine and I had to take the chicken out as I couldn't eat the sauce. Really hope this was a one-off as I like this take-away so will give them another chance.

The food turned up nearly an hour late and the chips were cold. ut thing that annoyed me most was when I rang to ask where the food was I was told that the delivery man had only left 5 minutes ago! This was 35 minutes late and then the man called me "love"!! I hate being called love - he didn't apologise and then he patronized me and then the food was cold. Never again!

Quoted 1 hour ten for delivery which seemed a long time, but delivered after 50 minutes which was a pleasant surprise.

Only 2 samosas on my meal deal.food was ok.nothing amazing.

I ordered lamb samosa and I received vegetables the onions bhjai were rock solid the rice was all lumpy and the curry had no flavour and I ordered 2 cans of pop and I didn't receive them What's the point in paying for something and u don't receive it

Masala curry was very nice, poppadoms and naan were perfect. The lamb in the Biryani could have been cooked better.

Excellent curry. Very fresh, delicious. Delivery was quick 30 min from order to door. Delivered piping hot. Defiantly one of the better takeout curry I've had.

Ordered the meal for one which could totally be a meal for two as its massive! Will be great for leftover lunch tomorrow. Curry was really good! Nice mix of vegetables as it was the vegetarian option. Food was due to arrive an hour after ordering and I didn't get it until an hour twenty however driver was lovely and very apologetic about it. Worth the wait :)

My partner and I are regular customers, and have spent hundreds and hundreds of pounds of our hard earned money on orders from Masala Empire. The experience we have had tonight has been beyond belief, and I am absolutely insulted that the restaurant manager made no effort whatsoever to retain us as regulars, despite knowing exactly who we were. Food just didn't come. it just never ever materialised. After two phone calls to the restaurant, we were initially told on the first phone call when the food was half an hour late that the food had been dispatched 5-10 minutes ago. Obviously I was very patient, but it doesn't take that long to get from Broadway to Rumney. We were offered an insulting 10% discount on our order during the second phone call which we held on loudspeaker. I could hear the restaurant manager farting about with his phone the entire time. That was when I lost interest, and stated that we would refuse the order if it came to the door. he didn't even say goodbye, just hung up the phone. RUDE. I've got no patience for timewasters, I expect a level of service, and I have high standards. if I could give this review a 0, I flipping well would. Get your act together, Masala Empire. It is a MONDAY evening, there are no events on in town.

Food took almost 2 hours to arrive. When it turned up the popadoms were completely crushed and soggy. The food would have been very tasty , however it was cold and thus not enjoyable. I usually order from this place quite regularly and there is a slight delay in food getting to me (usually an extra 10 minutes or so) - an extra hour however, is unacceptable. When I rang them they said the food was 10 minutes away - still took an additional 40 minutes and no apologies/gestures of good will to say sorry.
