Maya in Cardiff

Very delicious food and my first experience and i'm satisfy their services .The staff are excellent, very attentive and polite.

Just had a great night out with my friends (party of 8) at Maya. We all had different starters and main dishes which were all freshly cooked, hot and delicious. Lovely friendly and fast service made it a great evening. Thank you all at Maya. We'll be back!

Excellent food....and service... I've ordered for dhaba lamb , captain pathila pilau rice...i really njoyed them ..and the chef ..he was very lovely and cool

Great spicy food and nice gimmick with the hanging naan breads! Busy but they served well and quickly. I was surprised to have to go across the road to the supermarket to purchase alcohol, but of course it turned out a lot cheaper. The price is extremely reasonable too, by the way.

Their curries are very weak and dissapointing. Felt like going back the next day and asking for a better vindaloo. They seem to agree about the strenght of their curry

We went to Maya's for the first time late Saturday afternoon with my 7 year old daughter and husband, staff were very helpful and although they didn't have a kids menu, they catered for my daughter with something especially for her fussy tastes. My husband and I both really enjoyed our popadoms, onion bhagee starters and vegetarian mains... paneer masala and sag paneer were both delicious and the giant garlic nan was beautiful. The portions were so generous that we couldn't eat it all so the waiter kindly offered to box it up for us. The restaurant had a large booking of friends sat at the back watching the football and they looked like they had a great night watching the match with byo beers and delicious food...great idea! I returned this evening to collect my purse which I had accidentally dropped, I am super grateful for the honest staff keeping it safe behind the desk. Huge relief to be reunited with it so a heartfelt thanks once again!! I would highly recommend this restaurant and we look forward to enjoy another meal in the near future!

My favourite takeaway for a long time ....whats gone wrong ??? Shocking meal My birthday treat was ruined ...vindaloo sauce was sweet ..I paid £15 for a maya platter which was supposed to include amongst other thing lamb chops and King prawns neither of which were included ...im left feeling very let down and disrespected as a regular customer oh ye and if I didn't mention nan bread which aren't cheap were in edible ....see vid Thanks for robbing me maya

Can't recommend enough. Helpful staff, food was amazing! The giant naan and paneer jalfrezi were my favourite. Our eyes were bigger than our belly but they packed everything up for us. Will definitely be coming back

Had a walk around Albany to look for somewhere to eat and so glad we decided on Maya, the food was served quickly and was so tasty, Abdul was very accommodating and offered us extra onion Bahji and Naan, free of charge! So friendly and good value for money, will 100% be returning again! 5* :)

First time visiting Maya and it was fantastic! The service was on point and food was delicious. If you are going to come to this place then I recommend trying out the dish ‘Dil Laghe’ which is a lovely dish. Will defiantly come back again

The chilli chicken bayang was very tasty. The mix of spices was just perfect. The overall atmosphere of the restaurant was simply amazing!!! I felt I was back in India and had a nice home cooked meal. Will surely visit this place again and would recommend it to all my friends.

Had a take away at the weekend have got to say it was the most unusual jalfrezi I have tasted whilst not awful it did not resemble a conventional jalfrezi as I know my wife had a korma with rice and chips that was ok ish but the chips were inedible will not be returning or recommending

Reservamos una mesa con anticipación para las 9 pm, sin embargo, cuando llegamos no había mesa preparada. Esperamos unos 45 minutos. Preguntamos varias veces cuánto tiempo tendríamos que esperar y nos dijeron 5 a 6 minutos más de una vez. Al final nos dimos por vencidos y nos fuimos a casa y pedimos comida para llevar. He oído hablar de varias personas que dicen que la comida es buena y la recomendé, pero obviamente no puedo comentar sobre eso.

went by trip advisor reviews and was quite satisfied. Service was good and quite attentive, food being served from open kitchen in middle of restaurant. Food was OK and good portions, but not one of the best I have tasted. Keema nan lacking keema and was dry, the main course of balti was quite tasteless to be honest. Overall a nice experience just food a little bland.

Food is amazing but have ordered around 4 times now for delivery and takes at least 2 hours to arrive. Only live 1.5 miles away. If I could pick up I would. Due to this will probably look elsewhere from now on. Waiting for delivery again now and it's an hour over the delivery slot. Pity as food is nice.

This place is a gem ! The restaurant is brilliant in every way possible. The decor is wonderful and the food and service is just the best I have seen in Cardiff ! The price you pay is very reasonable and the portions are really big, especially the biryani.

My granddaughter and I visited and enjoyed excellent food served in friendly and efficient way. Food is prepared in view. The flavours of my chicken Jalfrezi was memorable and portions generous. Learning that lager was not available was quickly resolved by a visit to a Sainsbury’s immediately across the road where chilled bottles of suitable curry accompaniment were available at reasonable prices. No problem with this solution. The overall experience was most enjoyable and excellent value.

I don't often order a takeaway, but when I have over the last year or so I've been very disappointed with the quality of the food so didn't bother for a long time. However, I was recovering from major surgery just before Christmas and decided to give my partner a break from cooking. I hadn't heard of Maya before but a leaflet had been posted a few days before and I thought I'd try them out. I've now tried the mega offer and the mega special meal and really enjoyed both. They're reasonably priced with the menu (they give you another with each delivery) you get a £5 voucher off a £25 meal so can order an extra to make up the difference. To be honest a lot of takeaways offer an incentive but Maya stands out to me because the food is well cooked, well proportioned and tasty. Fast delivery too. I have selected 'cheap eats' below because I thought it was good value for money, this is no reflection on the quality of the food

Went here for the first time for sit in meal.Had veg pakora , cauliflower baji , garlic nan and chicken tikka pathia .Good service very good meal and really tasty .Open plan kitchen so we could see everything getting prepared and cooked. Being Asian myself I can say catagorically that none of the food there was authentic Asian food. The curries were colours IV never seen in my life being served in any Asian country and the service was awful. Late, We heard people shouting at eachother in the kitchen. The food was awful and the portion sizes were tiny. Will never be going back

I’ve been going to this restaurant for a while and with good reason. They serve the most authentic Indian food in Wales, I’ve eaten in a fair few in my time. My personal favourite dishes which are a must try are Captain Pathila and massli bora. Shashlik karai is a close 3rd. Service is quick and the chef has come over and checked on our experience a few times. Must say the light music on the background adds to the warm ambience. This place is perfect for a small get together with friends and family or a work dinner. Highly recommended.

I've been here a few times have and always enjoyed it. Last night I came here with the wife, her sister and husband for the first time. They all agreed it was brilliant, and will definately be back, I know I will be. They have no liquor licence, so you bring your own alcohol which makes it a much cheaper night. We had Papps. starters, main course. no dessert, wasn't room after eating all that, £62 for the four of us. Beat that. Great food, good portions, great staff, great atmosphere. Well reccomended. 5stars.
