Delicious loved the Biriani and nadan chicken

The food was tasty and the atmosphere was great. In my opinion, the nawabi murgh is very poor value for money - over £14 for two relatively small pieces of chicken and a small pot of curry. Also, I'm not a fan of automatically applied discretionary charges - even if they're labelled as optional. Nevertheless, I kept it on due to the exceptional service from the lady waiter: hopefully it actually went to her.

The best Indian in Cardiff! We went there three times in five days and enjoyed ourselves. The kitchen doesn't skimp on spices. The number of chili peppers next to the dishes on the menu is quite fitting. Absolute recommendation!

Amazing Indian cuisine with great starters, dips, sauces, and a high variety in main dishes. They don't skimp on herbal flavors and the heat level indicated is, albeit probably a little toned down for us westerners, very helpful. Great Syrian-style dishes as well as many vegetarian options. The staff is nice and fast. Have visited and will visit again. Update: we've been here three times now and the kitchen is showing absolute consistency in quality. Update one year later: still great, same quality. The interior is a little brighter now, which is nice.

Fav Indian restaurant in Cardiff. Top flavours and good variety of dishes too. Service can be a bit hit & miss though. Takeaway always on point too.

Waited over an hour and a half for our order to arrive. Felt like they were prioritising take out orders over serving customers in the restaurant. Then to top that off, they tried adding a service change to our bill which we kindly requested to be removed, which they did.

Have only ever had takeaways but they've been delicious. Don't go expecting the usual curry options. Would recommend the Punjabi chicken lababdhar, the starter tandoori paneer, the onion fritters, mushroom rice and garlic naan. It's definitely a place you want to get lots of 'bits' from.

I normally order in from this place but I dined in this time and it was a great experience. They are consistent and the food is always amazing. The service was impeccable. I can’t recommend them enough.

Dhansak was good, CTM was ok but relatively chilli hot for this type of dish. The onion fritters were terrible, greasy and soggy. The extras were standard as you’d expect and nice. I was just expecting something special as the vibe from this restaurant implies that and it was average.

We had gone for trip to Cardiff and we ordered biryani from this restaurant for dinner. Amazing mouth licking biryani! We were 37 friends altogether and each one of them mentioned the same comment! Fantastic food! Fast delivery! Definitely must try!

Just a bit disappointed with a few of the curries, lots of sauce but not much meat except the saag which was lovely. Very small portions on the chips in comparison to other restaurants we usually use.

This Indian restaurant takes all the boxes. The food is delicious, the staff are friendly approachable and bend over backwards to ensure your overall meal experience is 2nd to none. The quality of food is extremely high and always fresh with lovely dips for your poppadoms and meals that are always a little bit different from the normal Indian restaurant malarkey. This is the third time my wife and I have been to this restaurant and this occasion was for my birthday with a large group of friends. We had a lovely meal and all of my attendees agreed that the restaurant was excellent. And all of my friends are just as fussy as myself and my Long suffering wife. We will continue to visit this establishment because it is fabulous. Please support this local business because they deserve it.

The food was good, and the portions were good enough. Theeyal was definitely not authentic. It was just some gravy mixture with hardly any traces of onion. Pilav rice could have been better. Lamb shank was quite good, Would recommend Meen Chuttathu, it was quite fresh. Would recommend to friends.

Always lovely curry but it was terrible tonight so watery and 3 bits of chicken for £11 is ridiculous. I wouldn’t write a bad review normally but I’m so unhappy with this today

Had been to Salkaara today as there was onam sadhya!!! Can't resist myself from putting this review because the experience was amazing!! The food gave me nostalgia - authentic sadhya with 13 curry and two payasam, the ambiance was brilliant with pookalam (flower carpet) and with onam songs, with best service from all the staff. Thank you to all staff for giving me the best onam sadhya experience 🙂

One of the Best Indian food in Cardiff with authentic South Indian Cuisines and Taste. Chicken Biryani is highly recommended. The staff and Chef are really friendly and are considerate of your foody needs. Definitely worth a Try 😊

I’ve eaten at the restaurant and had takeaways on several occasions. It is an expensive restaurant and I expect good quality. I was disappointed this time firstly, because the portions were significantly smaller, and as an example, there was six small pieces of meat in the chicken tikka masala!! Similarly, with the chicken Mattie, the meat portions were very small, although the sauce was delicious. And so far as the Syrian beef is concerned, the container had spilled open and a lot of the sauce was in the bag. the only option for poppadoms was £3.50 with chutneys. I actually only wanted poppadoms but ordered the poppadoms as available. I was very disappointed when I received a bag of broken pieces of poppadom which was very expensive at £3.50 Although the delivery was spot-on time and could not be faulted, unfortunately, it was very disappointing and I cannot see me using them again. (I cannot correct the above typing error. Mattie should read Methi)

Nice friendly staff catered to our every need considering we were a random walk in late in the evening after 21:30 good ambient atmosphere personally I had a very spicy swordfish curry with mushroom rice and the obligatory Kingfisher followed by dessert chefs selection and or pineapple in cinnamon sauce

The portions are smaller than one would usually expect for the price. The food is quite yummy and served up quickly. Lunch seemed to be a less-busy time, so we did not have to wait long.

The Veg Biryani was no good it was just plain coloured rice with some vegetables thrown in .very unlike of Salkara where I have had good Biryani earlier.

The food wasn't up to standard quality and quantity for the price we paid we have had a better curry at half the price we paid. Very disappointed and will not be ordering from them again and certainly wouldn't recommend it to any one

Yes finally a great indian restaurant. Really good curry and good starters. Popadoms are okay.

Had really delicious Hyderbadi lamb and there were lots of unusual choices on the menu that I'd love to go back and try. Slightly more expensive than other restaurants around here in Roath but the food and service justify that; it's definitely somewhere you could go for a special occasion 🙂

Piping hot delicious, best poppadoms I've ever had,everything great. Not a huge amount of chicken, but I ordered a main, rice and 2 sides, easily enough for 2 meals.

Absolutely brilliant , the food is very authentic and freshly prepared with the riĝht spices. The desserts are a welcoming fusion twist, especially the creme de brulee. The people serving you explain and describe the food as they are served, which is brilliant. The staff are very friendly and ready to please Overall, it was a wonderful experience. What a lovely surprise. Walked into this place not having heard much about it on a Saturday night. It is now my top choice for Indian in Cardiff. A bit different than your typical Indian takeaway fares in a great way. Reasonable portion. Tasty authentic food that doesn’t skim on the quality or the spice. More people need to hear about this place.

Amazing food for the people who are from south India. They took me back to Kerala once again with the amazing taste of the proper Kerala food. However the food portion was a bit small but it tastes amazing 😋 Strictly suggesting for mallus. The authentic taste 💗

This was our first visit to the Resturant and we had called in earlier to confirm the table. Upon arrival, we were greeted with big smiles and were taken to our table. We were made to feel very welcome all through and the service through the evening was fantastic. The food was very good and tasted super authentic. The Tharavu (duck) main course was cooked to perfection and tasted perfectly spicy for our liking. Among the many things we ordered that evening, Zafrani pulav was another dish that stood out and had a fine touch - it went very well with the veg and non-veg sides we ordered. The biriyani was alright - nothing special but wouldn't fault it either. The staff was very friendly and were always smiling - it was special to see that it was an all-women team managing the restaurant. Would definitely go back. Thank you for the wonderful evening.

Small but food was beautiful and staff very friendly and helpful

First visit and I wasn't disappointed, the food was amazing, fresh and full of flavour, not your usual Indian menu, whatever your taste there are dishes to suit everyone. The service was excellent. Not the cheapest Indian food but as the saying goes you get what you pay for. I'll certainly be visiting again very soon.

We turned up at 9.00pm on a Thursday and were told they would be closing at 10.30pm so we would have to leave then. Poppadoms were sparse broken bits with some strange chutneys in very small dishes certainly not enough for 4 people Naan breads were more like flatbread but tasted ok , rice was of a good standard , curry tasted ok but looked like something out of a tin Asked if we could have a coffee and we’re told they only do instant powdered coffee and the waiter said he wouldn’t recommend it , surely a restaurant should have a coffee machine The service was adequate but not particularly friendly and we felt that the staff couldn’t wait for us to leave even tapping on their watches as a hint, maybe we went on an off day as all the other reviews seem to be good but not sure I would rush back

Chettinad Lamb Kuzhambu and Chana Masala were wonderful. Wish we'd ordered a third curry. Can't wait to go back :)
