Amazing little gem of a cafe! 18 covers and take away service. Fast efficient friendly service, nothing is too much trouble. Excellent quality breakfast at a very reasonable price! Butcher quality thick cut bacon, butchers sausages, good quality baked beans, mushrooms tasty and beautifully cooked. The whole breakfast was cooked to perfection and NOT swimming in grease. Thick sliced toast with butter a wonderful touch. There are many other options on the menu including vegan. Small cafe very clean as was the toilet facilities. Can't wait to go again!!

Absolute gem. I don't know the area but I was in need of a fry up. Stumbled across this place while mooching about. What a find! Eaten fry ups in some swanky hotels and cafes all over but I'd say this was top 3. Probably only topped by a hotel in Edinburgh but only just. Friendly fella, clean and well priced. It was so good I told him before I left. Defo come

I get food a couple of times a week to take away while working from home and often with the family at weekends. Brilliant sandwiches and jacket potatoes - bread fresh from the bakery, very generous high quality fillings and reasonably priced. Blt baguette and chicken salad teacake are particular favourites!

Walked 5 mins from the park after doing Huddersfield parkrun and found this gem. Huge full English for £5.95! Topped off with a brew was perfect. Will definitely be coming back soon.

Opened this trip advisor just to say how bad the sandwich I bought this morning. Bacon and egg. Cold egg. Fatty bacon. Dry bread. Couldn't get any worse. Two bite then in the bin.

we ducked into marsh cafe from the cold, very wet weather. we both chose one of their nice pies, i had meat+potato with peas + chips. hubby had pork pie with beans + chips, both came with gravy. the helpings were very generous, i could'nt finish mine, but hubby just about managed. both the meals were tasty + warming, and with drinks it was just over a tenner. the 2 young men were pleasant and chatty, we both called into the bijou bathroom before we braved the weather to pursue our groceries.

Great food, great staff. Would recommend to anyone. Whilst the cafe is small, the atmosphere is always welcoming and the young lad that works there is one of the most pleasant people that has served me.

we called for some lunch on our usual saturday shopping outing. hubby had a pastry fancy, so he had pork pie , peas, chips + gravy, which he devoured with gusto. i chose quiche, salad + chips, the salad and chips were very good. alas the quiche suffered from the reheating, it was quite dry and the pastry was hard, hence only 4 stars instead of 5. that said its a bright, clean, well run cafe, good prices [only £9.95 for 2 with a tea + coffee],Bargain!. lots of choice on the menu, i cant wait to try one of the recommended omelettes [Bridge E on TA. thanks!]. bijou loo, compact all in one unit. natty!.

If you haven't been to Marsh Cafe yet you are missing out on a treat. Offering a full and varied menu within very pleasant (and spotless) surroundings this is a great place to sit awhile. The staff are friendly, welcoming and very accommodating (if you have any particular dietary needs for example). The food is always tasty, well presented and excellent value for money, there's no stingy portions here! An added bonus is that the eggs are very definitely free range, not many places can say that! I'm not going to select any particular meal or food for appraisal as I wouldn't know where to start, it's all great! Why not try it for yourself?

Having visited Marsh Cafe quite a lot, I feel I should share my experiences with you all. Firstly, can I just say that I cannot praise Joe and his staff enough. Their food is fresh and so, so tasty. I have tried their sandwiches and salads which are usually overflowing off the plate!! Also, what I would like you all to know is that there is one meal you must try when visiting Marsh Cafe and that is Joe's omelette. I know I'm gushing about this, but this has to be the best omelette ever, ever. I think the only thing not in one of these omelettes is Joe's kitchen sink, but then he needs that to wash up my very clean plate after!! Thank you to all at this lovely cafe xx

i called for some lunch on my daily toddle to keep the old legs going. it was nearly noon, but i fancied a breakfast,[they do them all day]. i ordered a small one, with no beans or toms. the chef asked if i would like something in their place,[ i chose hash browns].i had a mug of tea to go with, this came with a little milk bottle. my breakfast was cooked well, and came with a thick slice of toast + butter. all very tasty, i cleared my plate and enjoyed doing so. a few customers sat outside with drinks and they were busy with takeaway orders. on my last review i quoted weekday opening hours as 8.00 am but its actually 6.30am, which is good for early customers, e.g. brekky before work. the staff are nice and good at their job, good price for a good meal. thanks.

i had a bank holiday walk in the sun, and i needed a breather + a bite to to eat, the marsh cafe was open. [this was formerly Hansons cafe], i ordered a sandwich + a tea for one, then took a seat.2 more tables were occupied, they open from 8am ish till2.30. i got there at around 1.15. my tea was in a beaker with a little milk jug. my egg mayo baguette was quite big and served with a mixed salad, which i sprinkled some of onto my baguette. this was well filled + tasty and the tea was good too.they still served breakfast to a customer that came in about 1.45 which is good to know. their menu is varied from just drinks to full meals + sweets plus take away orders. i popped to the loo prior to leaving, it was compact + bijou with everything contained in the unit 'neat'. a good lunch and fair priced. they said thanks + goodbye when i left.

Went for lunch, my wife had the fish butty and I had the roast beef with onions and gravy. They were brilliant, a lot of fish and beef, and very tasty. Great ale on tap, what more could you want?

The setting of the Lantern Room restaurant at the Manor House is beautiful. We were given the table in the window, perfect for two people. When we were given the menu the staff explained that there were a couple of extras on it at the beginning as amuse bouches. There were three of them and also some wonderful sour dough bread. These were free. The three very different mouthfuls were exquisite, with the blood orange and trout being our favourite. The sable biscuit was so light. We ordered the crab starter and the mackerel and then both had the line caught sea bass for main course. Both starters were intricate and beautiful to look at with the taste being fantastic. The blend of gooseberry, apple and mackerel was amazing. The quality of the line caught sea bass was first class and the chef did not disappoint in the cooking of it. Absolute perfection. Our evening was made special by the wonderful food, atmosphere of the place and the attentiveness of the staff, so big thanks to all concerned.
