Just spent six months holiday in Wakefield Yorkshire coming from Queensland Australia and was a regular at the newly renovated Magnet Hotel lupset.I will say what a great renovation the pub has had and also good beer from the hosts Andy and Claire Bower,yes I was magnetised at the Magnet and what a great night Friday,Saturday and Sunday .From Tom Robinson Gold Coast QLD Australia

Lovely clean pub, friendly staff with drinks at good prices, not sure about food as didn't go to eat there!

First visit on Saturday 6th May 2023. Management and staff were amazing. Clean and welcoming environment. Huge outdoor space for families / parties etc. Locals are a great bunch of people. Beer is spot on and karaoke night was so much fun. Highly recommended.

Haven't been in this pub for ages, since years ago it's been well decorated throughout and feels clean. The bar staff were friendly and the beers were good. I had Guinness and my mates had lager and bitter. Played good music and had good TVs We were watching some football . Didn't feel clicky but did get the odd look from some regulars I think they were just curious. Didn't feel threatened. Never went to toilets but if anything like the rest of the pub would think there ok. Overall a nice pub would definitely go again ,we called in on Thursday but think with the sound system which was good they probably play some good tunes that sound good over the weekend. So probably give it a go to see if it's more lively

Great night out with the family

Haven't been here for years and thought I would give it a try. Wasn't disappointed brilliant for watching sport with TV'S on every wall so had a choice of 3 screen in which to watch football. Recently priced drinks and very friendly staff and will definitely go again. Highly recommend

Nice pub great atmosphere decent pint

Had a decent couple of pints of John Smith's. There was a reunion happening on Saturday night but turnout want not the best we left before the band fired up as we had a prior arrangement. No trouble, just a friendly atmosphere.

booked a 60th there had nearly 70 ppl to turn up,the pub would have easily of made a £1000 in beer sales if not more shud av been a gud old knees up but worst communications in arranging party kept telling us yes yes but day b4 i had to arrange alternative party accommodation,great comms form pub down road wich accommodated for all the needs in just a short time.wud defo book at other pub,NOT HERE.

ok so not the best location to find but as an experienced food eater for the price of £3.95 you get a sunday lunch with fresh ,yes that's freshly baked yorkshire puddings. The silk wood car very near by costs more than twice the price and tastes like sh"""e this is due to food being left under lights to keep warm from 9 30 am, i know been for breakfast and seen the so called chefs getting ready for the rush in 3 hours, so please try the magnet and i am sure you will find all food as good as expected, even had freshly baked yorkshires this week well worth the wait. give it a try and tell them mickey from wakefield sent you u might get a surprise.

i have only been in the once on a sunday night for the karaoke. It was a fantastic night. A typical local where everyone knows one another but we were welcomed and included in the social standing and had a good night. It is a huge place, rough and ready full of lovable rogues. A good choice of draught and especially bottles and shots behind the bar.

We spent a lovely day and eve here..the food was lovely and would defo visit again..the staff were friendly and helpful ..even nippin ny hub to the shop down the road due to weather...thanks guys keep up the good work 😊

We come to the magnet every Sunday for lunch. My 2 year old loves it. The food is lovely, staff are friendly and the prices are great. There is a children's play area outside with seating for nicer days so you're not trapped indoors. And if you have any special requirements with food every effort is made to ensure you are catered for! 5*****

We came here for Christmas dinner me and my family, it's the first year we have gone anywhere instead of having it at home. Because there was lots of us we wanted to go somewhere reasonably priced. I was apprehensive at first however we were not disappointed at all, we had a spacious room to ourselves and the food was gorgeous, the staff are really nice helpful people and I will definitely be returning in the future

The food here deserves more than 5 stars so heres 6 ☆☆☆☆☆☆ Drinks are at a fair price. And its nice to see a family friendly pub.

Sunday lunch here is a treat. The portions are generous and the price is spot on. Very homely surroundings and smart decor. The beer prices are good too. They try and cater for everybody during the week too with a great open mic night on Tuesdays. Give them a try, you won't be dissapointed.

Really enjoyed our Sunday lunch yesterday. Go here most Sundays and never a compliant. Food always hot and fresh and cater for even the most fussiest eaters! 5*
