Been today for Sunday lunch I've given 3 * the pub and eating area was freezing we told the staff it was freezing she did say il check to see if the heating was on it clearly wasn't I'd like to ask why the fire wasn't lit if the fire was lit it would have made it 100% better our meal went cold very quickly has the place was cold and un welcoming we won't be visiting again until the summer months where it will be warming the Sunday lunch was OK the mash wasn't great but the turkey was tasty just a bad atmosphere because of the cold we had to sit and eat with our coats on not good my recommendations are heat the place either put the heating on or lit the beautiful fireplace you have in the pub to make it a warmer and cosy where you can eat your meal

Came here recently with my partner mostly for food and some drinks. The waitress’ were helpful and seated us. However, I noticed there were lots of flies around most of the beer pumps which put me and my wife off of our drinks a little bit. I ordered the steak pie and my wife ordered the whole tail scampi. When the food arrived it was room temperature and by the time we got to the last bit of our food it was cold. When we finished our food, the plates were cleared. After finishing eating, I noticed the waiters were stroking a dog that had come in and afterwards had not washed their hands. These are the waiters that are bringing out and serving food. I felt nauseous after seeing this and wished I wouldn’t have wasted my money. After seeing these things, I noticed the same cloths were being used for mostly everything. For example, the cloths were being used to wipe down the bar, and the tables. Contaminating the rested, sticky alcohol on the bar with the tables where people eat. It also came to mind that allergies were not being considered here by doing this. The people serving alcohol behind the bar also looked underage but seeing what I did, I would not be surprised if they were. There was no health risk or safety considered here for the customers. I also will not be back here.

I am absolutely disgusted with this establishment. A good friend of mine, who is blind, came for a meal one week. The service she got was amazing, and she enjoyed her meal and left. The following week, she came in and was told to go and sit in a separate area of the pub with her guide dog. Why didn't she have to the week before, and why was the person so rude to them? I would like to remind the Brown Cow that guide dogs are working dogs, and the same rules do not apply to them as normal dogs. You should be ashamed of yourself this was clearly a case of discrimination

I never leave reviews however I feel this is needed..... My son & I had dinner at the brown cow this evening. Upon arrival I noticed the menu prices were so much more expensive than the menu prices on their website for the same meal. when I mentioned this to staff I got no response. Our meals were poorly presented & cooked terribly poor. When the waitress asked If everything was ok with our meals I had no option but to give negative feedback. Again I got no response to my complaint. At the very least I feel I should have been offered a small discount. But the full bill arrived. Safe to say we will not be returning.

We went here after it being recommended by a friend and unfortunately have to say it was disappointing. Unfortunately the service was not good at all. Initially drinks spilled slightly on table. Waitress apologised but didn't wipe up. 40min wait between finishing starters and main course arriving. Had request a second drink from the bar as had waited 10 min for it between courses so presume the waitress had forgotten. When main course arrived again waitress struggling to carry 2 plates at a time tipped it towards me. I had to grab the gravy boat to avoid it spilling all over me. In doing so burned my hand. Again waitress apologised and left. Leaving us to clean up the mess and me to go to rinse my hand under the tap. Waitress was very young girl and whilst understand these things happen on occasions the spillages were not isolated to just our table. This needs addressing and training given along with accident reporting as I could have received a very nasty burn (I'm fine but it was sore). Lovely pub and nice atmosphere, but the food average at best so won't be returning.

We visited with our friends for a meal and drinks after recommendations and cant believe the disappointment. The pub was virtually empty save for a group of workers having a drink. Not the image we expected. We were shown to a table next to them. The room was really cold, really cold, and too brightly lit, which doesnt help , the cobwebs on the upper walls are hardly hidden then. We ordered, the staff were friendly enough. The meals were average at higher prices, and not as described on their own website, the prices being much more inflated. It wouldn't be that bad if the meals were good, I believe out of the four meals, only mine was what I would describe as good, that was the Cajun Chicken. The Gammon meals were breakfast gammon and too thin. The sandwich was average. It is so upsetting and disappointing when someone recommends a venue and it just fails to live up to your expectations, we won't return , another crossed off our list.

This is a nice pub with a big car park and good drinks range, but the Sunday Lunch was a huge let down. Price was low, but the 'roast pork' was like baked, thick cut bacon with the rind on (not crispy), turkey was better but nothing to write home about. Yorkshires and potatoes were likely from frozen. Overall, disappointing, nothing fresh and none of us finished their meal. Would stop in for a drink or possibly try their weekday food menu, but wouldn't go back for a roast.

Delicious food made by the new JLo’s Kitchen. Highly recommend. Yummy loaded fries and smashed burgers 🍔 can’t wait to try the rest of the menu

Went tonight menu deceiving. Says 2 course meal but then if you want steak it's extra. Starter was OK not the best I've had. Asked for steak meduim to well done. Came out running with blood. No peas on the plate onion rings very greasy chips not home cooked frozen ones. Manger stated he use to be a chef and they where meduim to well down steaks. (The steak was still mooing) We own 3 pubs ourselves. And would never treat a customer like he did. Chef not a chance the only thing he did in the kitchen was eat the food.
