Don’t come here expecting michelin star quality gourmet meals. Come here to expect the magic of wakefield. It’s like going home for me. The staff here look after you like your mother would. Nothing but good experience every time i visit. I dont even really care what the foods like, it is only a part of the whole experience. Its like going back to good times. Everything from the opening hours, to the radio station choice, to the decor, its just perfect wakefield in like a glorious un spoilt time capsule. I love it I truly truly love it. Kids love it too Do not change a thing. The whole place is fabulous

Nice but expensive for a breakfast

Really expensive. Eggs on toast and a cup of tea ridiculously priced.

Ridiculously expensive for what is obviously frozen food. However, the cafe has a nice atmosphere, it was very clean and the staff are friendly.

A bit pricey but breakfast was decent enough and service swift.

Ordered a jacket potato with tuna but they gave me coleslaw filling which I do not like. All staff said I ordered coleslaw. Funny when I dislike it. They obviously did not want to change it. Will not go there again.

Went there yesterday morning and had the best full English breakfast I've had for a while.

The staff are lovely including the owners 😀 The food is proper homemade 😋 😋 Can't say anything else been coming for years and never changed.

Not the best food for the price, chips tasted horrible and the fish tasted very bland. Although the waitress had great service skills, couldn’t say the same for the manager, he wasn’t friendly in the slightest.

So I decided to go to Neptune diner on Sunday for a sausage and tomato dip sandwich. Paid 40p extra for not even what I call dip it was just like juice not even a proper spoon ful. My friend refused to go there so she went to Greg's. She got 3 sausages in a bread cake & a latte for £2.90 I got 2 sausages a bit of juice in a bread cake £3.90. I know were I'll be going in future

Only cafe worth going in Wakefield town centre

Nice brew. Pot for 2 got 4 cups out of it. Lovely. Straight up no fuss food and friendly staff.

The food is okay not a great deal of choice in wakefield, food is handled with bare hands which is a little bit off putting and the bloke that runs it isnt all that friendly, the ladies are always polite and friendly , the price doesnt reflect the food quality i have had better for less , that been said the place okay , not great not terrible. Price 2* Service 2* Quality 2* Speed and convenience 5*

We had a couple of meals and they were delicious and served super quick. The mug of tea were just what I needed after a rainy morning in Wakefield!! We will definitely be back!

This is our regular place for Breakfast on a Saturday and we decided to try their Sunday Carvery. Good quick service and could not fault the food in any way. We will definately be going back a lot more

Classic simple no fuss food - full English, all day roasts dinners, deserts, teas coffees....no fuss, good value and really great service.

Food disgusting and hairs in our food it was absolutely disgusting and the burger was hard and gritty. The staff were mean and there was a very bad service . Do not come here it is awful.

Called into this cafe,we are not local Sunday lunch was spot on so Called in Monday morning for breakfast before travelling back home enjoyed both meals, will call again on our next visit...

This place is a treat. A delicious treat! I have tried different items on each visit, and I am consistently impressed. Breakfast, fish and chips, delicious fresh pies, chips, mash, vegetables and gravy. Trifles, hot drinks and cold drinks. I have tried and enjoyed them all here. The staff are efficient and friendly. The restaurant is lovely and clean. Great work Neptune Diner.

Absolutely spot on food for breakfast. The food is cooked perfectly and there are plenty of options including spam which is one of my favorites at breakfast. You can choose what you would like and even have it in a sandwich. Service is quick and prices are ok definitely worth a try to anyone wanting a tasty breakfast

They do lovely roast pork sandwiches, that's what I go in here for everytime, have it on a breadcake or baguette.

I was staying over in Wakefield and decided to have my breakfast here. I found the cost of a Full English breakfast (nearly £8) a little pricey and the cost of extras a bit steep but it was well cooked and presented and the service was friendly and efficient.

Visited for a much needed breakfast after a works due. Everything cooked wonderfully, nice and busy and have no complaints. Breakfast late are usually very hard to get to everyone’s taste but I can’t fault this. Bacon crispy, sausage had a nice bite, everything piping hot. Would recommend

Asked someone random in walefield where can we go for a decent full english, neptunes was the reply. We found the cafe very easily and was not disappointed at all, pipeing hot food with plenty of options to add or upgrade the breky, very helpfull staf keenly priced good quality food. All in all a great recomendation staff should be please with themselves hope to be fed again when we are next in the area 30p man.

Order off just eat not long ago and received multiplies hairs in a sausage sandwich, in the bread too I pulled out at least 4 hairs. Like what the hell, surely not hygienic at all haven’t ordered from here since. Used to get it everyday but then found all them hairs, wish I checked my other sandwiches for them too.

Came in for a full English NEVER AGAIN used this place before and it’s been ok but today was so bad …. My eggs was undercooked and snotty as asked for it replacing they just popped it back on the hot plate I asked for it redoing the waitress took my plate with my other items on and came back with one egg I asked where the rest was and she just came and took everything away and never returned as I was leaving I saw one of the waitresses had put the ingredients on a plate raw bacon parked cooked sausage on the same plate a serious health and safety breach I will report to eho

I would never have given this diner a second glance but I called in on a rare off chance & was pleasantly surprised. 😮. I had a small English breakfast & was more than happy with the choice & the portion size. Food was delivered quickly & efficiently by pleasant staff & the only improvement I could offer is 'the gent that was taking the order should smile & show a little bit more happiness'. You have a good business so be happy about it.😊😊.

The clientele is questionable and I wasn’t expecting much from the food, the only reason I went is because I wanted a full English and they do breakfast all day. Well impressed with the breakfast though! everything was delicious, it’s going to be my new favourite spot for a full English.

There was a warm welcome at the Neptune. The menu was basic but the food was good quality and large portions. I chose the Baked Potato and Tuna and that's all I expected but I also got a decent portion of fresh salad. The staff were helpful and the premises clean. I will revisit Neptune again.

Delicious food, great beef pie and chips really good value for money and really nice ham omelette, good portion size. Highly recommend the cherry cheese cake 👌 and the fudge cake was really yummy. Fantastic service and nice friendly staff definitely the best cafe in Wakefield.

If you have a love for time capsule cafes, this place is perfect and right up your street. Inside it's like a time warp back to 1990, and that's a good thing. This place reminds me of happier times. The food is great and I highly recommend the steak pie with chips ( packed full of beef ), as well as either Lemon Meringue pie or Apple pie. Excellent food serving sizes. My only gripe is this place is becoming pricey. A good meal like that with 2 drinks, and you are now looking at £12-£13 region. This is supposed to be just a down to earth cafe. They need to rethink their pricing. It doesn't help that their soft drinks on draught are small size so you have to buy twice, and they aren't exactly cheap to begin with.

Lovely family run cafe all staff very friendly and always remember their regulars.Best Lasagne ever tasted and love the steak pie all home made.Portion size are very generous but too big for my husband so he always requests a small portion

Vegetables was either frozen or tinned tasted terrible and mash made of powder with big lumps inside. Over priced and terrible customer service and dirty staff. waste of money!

Canteen style Cafe with a designated takeaway section selling fast food options (as I understand). We visited the cafe and the staff and service was of good quality. Snacks, cakes, lunch and main meals are all on offer, as well as a range of hot and cold beverages. Plenty of seating indoor and outdoor.

Discusting .we had pie with chips and veg .the carrots were sour .the gravy was so thick and wasnt hot .my niece had a beef dinner .again the carrots were sour .the beef looked as though it was eaten by a cat .and fatty .the boss came out and said that was a new tin opened that morning .I am a chef myself and there is no way that was a new tin that had been opened ,appserlutly disgracefull

The wife and me were in Wakefield centre to do some shopping and fancied a bite to eat but didn’t really fancy any of the chain restaurants. It damp and cold so comfort food was definitely called for! Saw the pie and chips here and that fitted the comfort food bill perfectly! The braised steak pie was really nice with big chunks of tender steak! The staff were polite and the cafe / restaurant tables were nice and clean. The prices were pretty good, you certainly won’t break the bank eating here! I would certainly recommend popping in here for your comfort food fix!

This is a real gem in the heart of the city. Staff are friendly, helpful and the food is expertly presented. Continuing with the food, it is faultless great tasting and fresh. We travel from our town especially to eat at the Neptune. Their toasted sandwiches are second to none and top of our list for a light lunch, presented with a side salad we can highly recommend them to anyone.

This place is friendly and family friendly too. Amazing verity of foods and deserts. Reasonable prices. Come and try it.
