The Lyppard Grange - Sizzling Pubs in Worcester

Ive been 5 times in 4 weeks and again tonight. Must collect my brownie points, I keep forgetting! Allow plenty of time to get your food as service is slow, but it's very good and freshly cooked. Nice atmosphere. Dog friendly inside and out.

Would need to visit again to write a full review and rate. Battered fish was cooked perfectly, but the portion of chips was on the small side. Does have some day time drinkers, which could affect atmosphere and enjoyment for some.

Great local pub with a varied menu and very good value for money. Managers and staff are all lovely and welcoming. Also, a good selection of vegetarian options and always helpful with any dietary requirements. One section of the pub is dog friendly including a "sausage for the dog" on request.

Passing by and dropped in for a light bite. Great menu selection and staff were very helpful and friendly. Food was tasty and affordable.

They seem to have atleast two managers. One of which is lovely but the other, not so much. The tall lady with the black hair who I believe is one of the managers is really quite rude. I’m a regular and come once a month and I’ve yet to have a good experience with her. She makes things difficult for no reason, for example I came to the bar to order food with my 3 month old baby and didn’t note my table number, she acted like she didn’t know the numbers and couldn’t serve me until I walked back to the table, noted the number and then came back to the bar to order (with baby) she has worked here for long enough so I find it hard to believe she doesn’t know the table numbers or have a chart of some sort. Also, I had a baby and she didn’t offer to look for me despite it being myself and two other tables in the whole restaurant. I honestly dread ordering when I walk in and see her at the bar. The other manager however is lovely, polite and seems to go down great with customers. Maybe the big woman with black hair could work on her attitude or maybe look for a new career that isn’t customer facing because she has a weird way of making you feel really rubbish.

Food was hot, lovely meal . Every one ate it . But to find a table was hard. As a table for 6 only had 2 people on and table for 4 only had 2 on . Put was loads of table for 2 with no one on . So we struggled to get a table for 4

Had a lovely mixed grill and dessert. Lovely place to eat.

Fairly typical urban pub, plenty of parking and large garden with plenty of outdoor seating. Pub grub menu, good quality food. Friendly staff.

Lyppard Grange has everything we look for in a pub - proximity, ambiance, good staff and the food, when it finally arrives, is excellent. But the wait for our food was 1.5 hours!

Fantastic service, bar staff was very helpful, the waitress with the septum piercing was particularly helpful!

Visited on Sunday, service was friendly and prompt. The food was lovely, one small observation ... the sausage and mash was a little dry due to insufficient gravy (appreciate 'prepared ') we did ask for extra but declined to pay an additional £1+. Other than that a very pleasant time was spent.

Lovely staff and food. Had a little mix up but this was sorted immediately. Hubby has an intolerance and we were notified that the chef was cooking things separately to ensure no cross contamination. There's a lovely path nearby to walk around as well. Loads of outdoor space too.

An absolute pleasure. Everything you could ask for as a local establishment to us as a family.the food and service have always been 100%. I have also personally made new friends while in this atmosphere. Very easy access for parking. Over all the staff made and confirm the experience for us as a family.

Fantastic local with a really great vibe. There are plenty of quality beers and wines on offer with good food options and very reasonably priced. A real gem of a pub and we love coming here regularly.

Food decent and good service, but unfortunately no draught beers available as all pumps out of service so had to settle for bottled beer.

Went on fete day had a few drinks in the garden with friends , had chips that came out within minutes. Great service

The first time we went it was great, but the second time they were closed due to a power cut. The third time we booked a table for dinner at 8:45 and the kitchen was shut, so we could only have drinks. We think the website should have made it clear that we couldn't book for dinner at that time of day.

Got there at 6.30pm ordered straightaway,then despite chasing food didn't get it for an hour and a half and mine was luke warm..Also people were being allowed to vape even though it is a family pub with children.

OMG went for a evening with friends for a meal it was a 40% off but we ordered at 7 05 had to ask where our mea l was at 8 40 said it would be 15 mins told we could have a free dess as the had forgoten out order when it arrived chips were stone cold food was cooked so much the chicken was thsr dryyou could nor chew it and steak was so tough it made my jew ache i have brought better steak from ALDI alfull meal i dont know why we bother

Pretty bad. Waited 45 mins for food. When it came the sizzling chicken which I’ve had many times has shrunk to one tiny piece of chicken. I couldn’t believe it. Also there was no broccoli as advertised. And on a smaller plate. I won’t be going again

Went a couple of times whilst I was away and couldn't fault it. Visited 3 times and each time the food was delicious. Friday was a bit busier but was warned there was a wait so was worried. Yep it took about 40 mins for the meal but was not disappointed

I have been here lot of times and every time I leave with a smile on my face. The food is amazing and the ambiance is truly wonderful. The staff is polite and friendly. I miss the half roasted chicken though. Hope they add it back on the menu.

We've been on a few occasions, to eat with family and it's not overly expensive. The food is not bad for what we pay but anyone expecting al la carte, it isn't so you'll have to pay a lot more elsewhere. We had Xmas Day lunch there in December 2023. Not bad at all considering how very busy they all were there.

As seems to be the way these days, little in the way of a personal service, the expectation seems to be that you place your own order online and you're asked to pay a tip before you've experienced the service. The food was mediocre as you'd perhaps expect from a grill chain. The chilli is more like a sloppy bolognaise sauce with beans in it. It would have been nice if the chef had at least waved a chilli at it. The bits of steak that weren't gristle were very pleasant and the garlic bread was the star of the meal.

First time here and will be returning! The food was really tasty and the staff are so polite and helpful, we’re only 3 girls working on the Wednesday night we came in but all were lovely! - Didn’t get any names but all looked young! Was a bit of a wait on food but nothing to complain about as the food was delightful! Did hear a couple of tables complain about the wait/ food but the staff dealt with it really well in my opinion and it’s good to know issues are sorted promptly when they occur! I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and will be back to try more of the menu! We had the Mixed Grill and the Jerk Skewers I highly recommend both!

Service and food absolutely terrible! Waited an hour and a quarter for Mac ‘n’ cheese with bacon to arrive luke warm. Having been sent back returned microwaved to the hilt- could have done that at home. Duty manager said whilst walking away over her shoulder “sorry for the wait”- words escape me!!! No table check done, no care given. The team really couldn’t have cared if we were there or not. Being in a customer driven environment all I can say we wouldn’t have any if we treated people the same. For other customers to complain to us about it too is absolutely shaming surely? As it’s our local we enjoy the outdoor drinks but that’s it for indoors and food

Friendly staff. Unfortunately some of the locals were quite unwelcoming. Food was good but there were quite a few items missing from the menu. Fine for a quick bite but we won’t be returning.

Been to the lypards many times over the last 10 years, always been a nice local well priced pub and probably still is as I enjoyed my meal. But my 6 year old son wasn't too happy, is that it for my baked beans he asked? I have never seen such a small portion of kids baked beans in my life, it was served in a shot glass 😂. I will happily pay you an extra 10p if it means a kid can have a decent portion of baked beans with their dinner.....

We were a party of 15. The staff were great, a couple of our party had never been before and they were very impressed. Alena was amazing, helping my sister in law who is gluten free to choose the right options. They went above and beyond xx

First time for me with grandchildren. They enjoyed the food, of which there was enough to please them and us. The pub does some decent offers as well.

ABSOLUTELY GREAT PUB. We'd walked locally and built an appetite for fish and chips. It was super, and along with a shandy went down a treat. The pub is very welcoming and the staff friendly. Service is excellent too. All you need in a pub! Well done team, top marks

Staff were again very helpful and friendly, my only fault I found was having to wait at the bar for someone to arrive from out the back somewhere. But what an improvement with the food it was excellent well cooked, hot and tasty well done.

Miserable staff!!! Extremely long wait for food even though they weren’t busy?! Food came it was just warm!! My daughter had a build your own sundae that included a few chocolates and 2 scoops of ice cream, it took 25 minutes for that to come!! Tables were really sticky and toilets weren’t that clean!! Definitely won’t be returning here!!! Used to be a cracking pub with food here, shame it’s gone down hill so much!!

Our last visit was not the best, but this time it was very good, the food was excellent, service brilliant and all the staff very friendly. also very good value for money.

I have eaten here about 15 times. Food generally takes 40 minutes to 1 hour to arrive, even when they’re not at all busy. They usually apologise and act like it’s out of the ordinary. Some things are regularly burnt (like burger buns, chicken wings) and other things are always undercooked (soggy onion rings). Other things are actually very nice (such as the gammon), so it’s completely hit and miss. Portion sizes are also very inconsistent. Value is good (especially 2 for £10.50 deal which includes fish and chips!).

Great time at The Lyppard Grange today, food was very good and lovely to see Alina and the team. Always a nice atmosphere and very dog friendly which is amazing. Thanks for looking after us today. Five stars 👍🏻

Nice and quiet, good food, but very relaxed staff (by which I mean extremely slow)

Ordered big breakfast and only a small breakfast arrived. Top up filter coffee Luke warm and tasted nothing like coffee. Luke warm baked beans with breakfast. Later, ordered desserts. Took over thirty minutes to arrive. Other customers at the bar saying they had been waiting for 40 mins for their food. Man behind the bar didn't seem at interested ! Really poor service and still waiting for desserts despite asking how much longer and being told " not long".

Overall a very useful pub with an above average pub food offering and reasonable prices. Plenty of good offers via the app. Main drawback is slow food service sometimes (my record was a one hour 25 minutes waiting for a salad). If you don't have unlimited time, order at the bar and ask about any delays as you don't get any notice if you order on the app. Plenty of outdoor space in a pleasant garden but the outside tables need some refurbishment as they are looking very old and tatty. Staff are always very pleasant and helpful.

About once a year we think that we'll give the place another chance. Never , ever again ! Dismal service, we had to chase our order up after half an hour. It had obviously been rushed after we complained as it was burnt. A child's meal was placed on a hot plate. The portion was , so small. Previous meals have included lasagne made of pastry, cold food, wrong orders. Had it not been for an hungry child, we'd have sent our meals back and gone into Tesco and bought snacks ! Miserable staff consistently.

Terrible food and drink I’ve been using this pub for 30 years now it’s so run down and disgusting the place smells the tables are sticky the toilets are filthy and as for the food I’ve never had such a bad meal the beer was vile when was the last time the pub cleaned the pipes I will be spending my money elsewhere in future
