First time visit to Mode on Sunday for the Carvery. Was impressed with the welcome from the friendly staff. Highly recommended

We took friends here last year and had an amazing meal. Decided to go back. Food was rather dry with very little gravy on the Sunday roast. Parsnip was a little under cooked. Staff were friendly enough but not the best food and probably won’t return.

Sophie the bar maid was amazing! Very smiley and helpful! Recommend to everybody to come here! Will be back again in the future

We usually love the Sunday lunch experience at The Farriers and have been several times. Unfortunately we did not enjoy this visit at all! It appeared the there were only 2 staff members on the floor which was the probable cause of the chaotic service received. We ordered a drink at the bar after being pointed (not shown) to our table however the drinks did not arrive for some time after - we did note people arriving later and being served drinks whilst we were still waiting. When we were eventually asked for our food order we were advised only one pork available no cauliflower cheese left so opted for the last pork, turkey and lamb shank which came with a rather small bowl of vegetables between 3 of us, my partner would have polished it off on his own! I attempted to ask a passing staff member for extra gravy as there was very little, but was cut short with a response of "just a minute, go to the bar" Rude! The same staff member had used the same response when we were trying to get our drinks. The lady serving at the bar was much more amenable and agreed to get us the extra gravy -unfortunately our lunches were not so warm by the time it eventually arrived which did spoil the meal. The lady did apologise for the delay. Although we would have liked to order a dessert, no one came to take our order. We gave up in the end, paid the bill and left. Poor service leaves a bad impression, we hope this experience was a one off as the service and food is usually excellent , however I don't think we will be chancing it for a while unless the very efficient and polite guy is working on a next visit
