The Lyndhurst Teahouse in New Forest

Had some very delicious freshly cooked food. My friend said her vegetable soup was really delicious and so was the scrambled egg. My toastie was tasty and so was my husbands salad. Well done to the chef. The young people serving were a delight, well dressed and attentive with such nice smiles. Thank you everyone.

Stopped here for a light lunch and afternoon tea for 2.. Service was friendly and efficient. The food was very good. Scones were light and crumbly. The place was packed out, which says it all. We will definitely be back.

This is one of 2 of our favorit cafes in the area and will always stop off for bite to eat and drink. This is everything you have come to expect of a British cafe. Simple, reasonable priced menue of food and drink. Service is with a smile and happy glow, food is nice good quality and its dog freindly.

Stopped here for lunch. Lovely food and friendly service. There is a wide selection of food including for those that require; both vegan and GF selection. Although we didn`t try them this time, the selection of cakes looked very tasty. There are a wide selection of cafes in the high street, but will def. come here again.

We popped in for lunch. We were greeted warmly at the door and shown to a table quickly. There was lots to choose from on the menu. We went for a croque monsieur and Welsh rarebit. Both meals were tasty and well presented. The staff were friendly and efficient throughout our visit. We didn’t have cake this time but would be tempted if in the area again, as they looked great!

Have visited many times and never disappoints from a spot of lunch to a lovely tea and cake. Staff are always friendly and welcoming!

Great food, lovely friendly service and reasonably priced. I stopped here for lunch with my 5 year old, the staff made a fuss of her, service was quick and the food a child’s ham sandwich and small cream tea for me were very tasty. The scones in particular were still warm and freshly cooked.

A very busy tea room. We were lucky to get a table but there was only 2 of us so they managed to squeeze us in. Made very welcome. My hubby had the cheese scones with the chutney and it was very tasty and he managed to get 2 cups of tea out of his tea pot - a bonus. I had the toasted tea cake which was really fruity and the orange squash with lemonade which was very refreshing. The only problem we had was we didn’t have any white sugar for the tea so asked one of the young waitresses and she came back with just ONE sachet and when we asked for more she looked at us as tho we had 2 heads and went off and came back with a couple of sachets. The place was very busy and perhaps they hadn’t had time to top up the sugars but perhaps in future if they are asked for more sugars they think perhaps I should fill the container up. Thought it looked good when I wheeled my disabled wife past. Ended up sitting outside as the young man’s made a half hearted attempt to consider any seating inside. So decided to stay outside even though it looked like it was going to bucket down. Told someone would be with us shortly. Waited and while we waiting table for 4 became available in the window. We were 6 feet away but no attempt to say anything like would you be better off there etc. Then a couple took that table and wee promptly seen by the same guy while we were still twiddling our thumbs outside. Gave them another min then decided the place wasn’t for us. Not what I would call disabled welcome. Perhaps we were too much trouble. Hope they get better.

I went here yesterday with my 2 kids and partner, on arrival we was greeted with miserable faces so immediately didn’t feel very welcome! We sat down and my 1 year old pushed the door slightly and the (manager I think) marched over opened the door back up but didn’t even give one bit of eye contact. I was on edge even if one of the kids made a noise that may have interrupted their day slightly….. cake was not the best and definitely would not return as many other better tea rooms on the same street!

Looked at several restaurants in Lyndhurst, settled on this one based on menu choice and prices. Greeted by a friendly young lady with a smile and given our choice of table. Once at our table we wasn't hurried into making our choices and, when we had decided what we wanted, it arrived within 10 minutes, was hot and delicious. We also liked that the same young lady enquired if everything was OK, sadly not something that happens much these days. The staff, including the manager, all seemed happy and mucked in together. Full up atm but coming back later on for afternoon tea

we had lunch (soup and the croque monsieur followed by millionaires shortbread) all of which were excellent! the staff were all brilliant and service was very quick, we will definitely be returning next time we visit

I had the fish and chips which was very disappointing. Dry fish inside a battered coating, obviously cooked from frozen. Probably chose the wrong thing to have, may have been better to order a sandwich. My husband had a burger which was also very disappointing....

Excellent stop for coffee and brunch. Try the breakfast muffins with rarebit sauce bacon and egg - delicious. Great service - very attentive and polite. Clean and well kept - I would recommend a visit here if you're in town.
