The Longshore in Adur

Food was ok but a little cold when it eventually arrived, Service was terrible, Over an hour wait for both courses. No one appeared to be clearing tables, we had to take our used plates to the bar ourselves while we awaited deserts. No one asked if food was ok. Only one barman working who was totally over run with trying to take orders and get drinks. No care taken with food or drinks, our drinks were almost thrown at us and spilled, food rolled around the plates as they dumped down on the table. This was the worst experience I have ever has eating out.

Gavin the bar manager was very attentive and his team were were polite and very happy.

Pleasant staff, order was delivered to our table in good time, there was 4 adults, in which each of us were very satisfied with the service and the food. We will definitely return again.

We booked my daughter's 18th birthday meal just after Xmas and staff were very helpful and quick to respond to questions and communication was outstanding. On the evening we were offered a choice of places to sit and staff were again extremely helpful kind and interacted with our evening in a very positive manor and nothing was a problem.

I had lunch here , food was really nice and very helpful and friendly staff especially Chris.

I was here with my wife and son on Tuesday afternoon. The chilli I had was really tasty as was the chicken pie and cowboy burger and chips. Cannot fault the meal and friendly service of the staff made for a lovely visit. Will definitely be going back.

Nice food shout out to Chris for good service

we went in there because we are local but we had not booked for lunch in Shoreham . The wait was a bit longer than we thought but they were very busy. We had a dog with us and the staff were very dog friendly. We ordered 2 roast beef roasts but they only had 1 left and no cauliflower cheese . The staff were lovely but the food was so bland ….the roast potatoes were soft and no crisp to them , no cauliflower cheese . I’m not the burst cook in the world but my roast surpassed yours on every level.

The pub was fairly busy so the loudness of the piped music was unnecessary. I ordered food and drinks at the bar. I returned with the drinks to our table and half an hour later I had to return to the bar to hasten our food. The 2 ladies made no positive comments about their food, but mine was the worst pub meal that I have had for 30 years. It was steak & ale pie with chips and peas with gravy. I managed to cut the cardboard looking pastry in 2 so I could pour the gravy onto it. Result by item = pastry bad, content minimal and taste was achieved with plenty of English mustard, peas = lots of green bullets, chips = below average but some enhancement from the gravy.

Friendly staff, they gave us a warm welcome. Food was good, one of us is veggie, gluten and onion intolerant which unfortunately left them with no real options apart from fries. However it was handy that the online menu has filters to take the guesswork out of it. We had two children with us and they both enjoyed their food.

Been to the longshore a few times now, most recent being the pizza and donut making event for the kids! The kids love going, the food and drinks are delicious and reasonably priced. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Most importantly for us it has a place when the kids can play and is fully disabled friendly, so have been able to meet up with family with ease. Thank you for making each time we visit special and enjoyable ☺️

Wide selection of standard, classic and unusual dishes at great prices. A small misunderstanding was cleared up immediately and we all enjoyed it. Only downfall was the Irish coffee - bar person didn't seem to know what one was and it came like a latte, all mixed up.

Great roast at the Longshore! Partner had the turkey and I had the spinach tart. Service was good particularly Chris who was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back :) Oh and music was nice choice of jazz, blues and old easy listening classics perfect for a Sunday!

Stopped in for a quiet meal with my dog and 1 year old, before I’d even ordered food one of the staff members was popping balloons from a previous party scaring the crap out of my dog, had to leave before even picking something to eat…..

I booked a table but when we arrived it was right next to the toilets. I asked to have the table changed and Alana (our waitress) was able to offer a much better position. Service was very good and timely but not overly attentive (I don’t like people asking if things are okay mid way through a meal). The overall quality of the food was very good but the music was too loud for us, but we got used to it and were able to talk. Steak was a good medium rare, not over cooked!

A very nice evening at the Longshore. The salad was beyond expectations, lots of healthy ingredients with chicken and bacon topping. Gavin, our waiter was very responsive and attentive. I would give 'atmoshere' 5 stars if the background music was turned a tad lower but a great dining experience.

Easy parking, Friendly and efficient service. Although our first choice of meal was not available, due to a kitchen equipment fault, the chef provided a meal which we both preferred to our first choice.

My husband and I had a lovely Sunday roast. Food was tasty and plentiful and service was excellent. My husband is a wheelchair user and the pub is very well equipped for this with disabled parking and facilities and the staff were mindful where we were seated. Great service from Gavin, would recommend and return.

Booked for 12pm lunch with my friend. We had a discount voucher from Meerkat which we used and the lady explained it is off everything we have. Lunch always amazing as is the pudding and cafe late’s. Perfect dining for the perfect catch up. Friendly staff great atmosphere, plenty of parking

Went to the longshore yesterday for lunch,sat at table 3. Food was ok,but the surf and turf was missing some bits that stated on menu . No onion rings,no tartare sauce, no mushrooms. We asked for tuna mayonnaise jacket potato, but was informed that the tuna was not being used as chef said it smelt funny. Asked for cheese and coleslaw but was told,we don't do coleslaw. So ended up with a plain cheese one. No butter so found it quite dry to eat. Don't go to the longshore very often as usually not good food or service. But thought we would try it again to see if things had improved but the answer to that is a......NO!!!

Place was busy on arrival with what looked like a wake. We had pre booked a table for 6 but there was no table set aside for us, we were just told at the bar to find somewhere. Luckily alot of people were standing in the bar area as I wonder where we would of found to sit otherwise. No complaints about the food which we all enjoyed or the service which was quick and attentive. Main gripe is if you book, a table should be set aside for the no of people in party and shown to your table. We had to push tables together to seat us.

I have been here on lots of occasions

Don’t eat the mixed grill. Unless you like to spend a lot of time on the toilet. I was gagging while eating it had to leave most of it. Mozzarella dough balls are good it’s the only reason I come here but they always seem to run out of dough.

Very good choice on menu. Very good prices. Nice staff and friendly people. Only thing is food could be a bit hotter.

Leighton and his team always go above and beyond for WFL. We really appreciate it and look forward to retuning again soon
