The Longshore in Adur

Food was excellent, staff were friendly and helpful. Missed the order ticket to start with and we had to pop to bar to check when no drinks appeared but after that fast and efficent. When dinner arrived fries had been put on one instead of chips but very quick to fix the error.

We went to The Longshore for our Staff Christmas Meal (7 of us) and the staff made us feel very welcome. The service was excellent and everyone enjoyed their meals. We all had 3 courses, the Paté was delicious, the Festive Burger was huge and so full of flavour! Everyone enjoyed the Turkey roast and commented it was excellent. All desserts were also fantastic, huge portion of Sticky Toffee Pudding!! Will definitely be back. Special mention to Chris & Gavin for their great service.

We would not recommend this place waiting for my food for two hours then when it did turn up, it tasted like cardboard and burnt then had to check to say they’ve taken a discount off sorry I don’t want a discount.

Karen, whom I believe is the manager managed to squash a party of 22 in tonight knowing how busy she was. We all had such amazing food and drinks which were served with smiles from the lovely staff on shift. We were all greated with smiles and very welcoming behaviour. We will all certainly be returning guests.

Our group of 12 turned up without a booking and were greeted and seated with no issues at all. We had fabulous service, fabulous food and the manager was more than happy to take a photo of us all 😊 Thank you!

Had a roast turkey dinner which was really nicely cooked. Then jam sponge and custard, very nice.

Nice Christmas atmosphere, helpful and friendly staff, the food took a while but very tasty and large portions, it was quite busy at the time.

Went to the Longshore today and had the chicken tikka massala. Was really tasty, soft naan, crunchy poppadom and mango chutney. Just enough spice. Plus, I used my 30% off voucher. Friendly staff, all working hard. There was also a little market on in the conservatory. Some lovely gifts and treats.

Friendly staff greeting us with a nice ambience in the pub. We used 30% vouchers which was nice as the prices and food are affordable. Dog friendly too, so next time I'll be bringing my dog for his own lunch as well!

As a group of four, two of had steak which was extremely poor- tough and gristly. This was acknowledged by the friendly and understanding staff who gave us an overall discount on the total bill as compensation. The other two meals were good in comparison.

I try and bring my dad here as much as possible, he’s in dementia care home so I have to keep things that are familiar to him and we always used to go to the Longshore, I booked online and requested a table by the toilets and quiet, that’s exactly what we got, Gavin was welcoming as usual and made sure our request was all sorted before our arrival, service is quick which is great as dad doesn’t sit still for long, we always get a warm welcome.

Received some of the worse service on Sunday. Not all but most of the staff are very lazy and rude. And if you have kids, be prepared to be treated like your non existent and get put into the lesser end of the restaurant and receive minimum service. Shame on you!

All the staff were very courteous and helpful especially Gavin who took customer service to the next level when I phoned, after I got home, as my husband thought he may have left his mobile behind. Beef dripping and merlot sauce is amazing especially for dipping chips in.

Friendly staff, good meal for the price, would visit again

When we arrived nobody knew where to seat us, when someone did show us to our table it was still dirty, so we ended up being sat somewhere else. Our table was sticky & the area in general did not feel clean. We ordered our food at the bar as advised, we were then told that one of the items we wanted wasn't available, so we picked another item and was told this also wasn't available, after a lot of back & forth an item was picked. We were told the food would take 30-40 minutes & was almost an hour before we actually received it, this was after we went & asked how much longer it would be. Whilst eating nobody came over & asked how our meals were, there was an issue with almost every dish, however we didn't complain as we didn't want to wait any longer for food. Overall really poor service.

Tables were sticky, when I asked if the table could be wiped, I was told he could try but it probably wouldn't make any difference as it was the sanitiser that they used. Won't be returning because of the sticky tables.

Great food, kind staff, and it wasn't a long wait even though it was busy. The atmosphere was very comfortable and relaxing. I will definitely recommend longshore to anyone for a quality and inexpensive meal.

The friendlyness of the bar staff Gavin and last night was Lathen when ordering the food or drink, which makes it very homely, and the food is full of flavour and good.

Really good food gavin was so professional and kind and friendy

We were “greeted” by a sign that told us to seat ourselves and the table we happened to choose was sticky, presumably from not being cleaned properly. We ordered a simple Turkey roast and beef roast. Despite the pub being quite empty (1 hour after opening), the food still took 26 minutes. When it arrived, the small amount of vegetables were hidden under the thickly cut, cold Turkey that was from a manufactured roll and not carved from a bird. The roast potatoes were also cold, the stuffing was extremely tough and the Yorkshire pudding needed to be torn, not cut. The bottle of cider was cold though, so that was nice. The only time we learned our server’s name was when we were asked to do this review and that was only because his name was written on the card. Overall, not brilliant and won’t be going back, even though it’s close by.

The burger was uncooked the curry was a kids portion along with the 8 chips with the burger disgusting sizes for what we paid would recommend going somewhere else not there food

We came down on the Sunday to scatter the ashes of my partners late father… it was a very wet and windy day, thankfully they found us a table and served us amazing tea and coffee plus the free WiFi kept the kids busy… great establishment friendly staff

Came in late on a Sunday afternoon and totally blown away with the amazing Sunday roast. Vegetarian options were great. Service was quick and very friendly, I would highly recommend.

We had a great meal and were looked after by Gavin and his team brilliantly!

I had the Chicken & Mushroom Pie, the pastry was mostly undercooked, and the whole pie was soft and stodgy. Asked for additional gravy when meal arrived, 10minutes came back to ask if I still wanted it, and then a further few mins before it came out. I left most of the Pie and when plates collected the server said nothing. My chips were mostly cold, and the gravy was bland. My partner had mozzarella dough balls and chicken sides. Both were very disappointing, there was no cheese it had come off and burnt. Music was quite loud for a quiet place. Only positive was the food came out quickly. Overall a very poor meal unfortunately, and not value for money, and it has put us off coming back.

Wasn't going to go to the pub, however I got stuck in the rain and thought I'd wait inside till it calmed down. Had a couple of nice pints of lager, it's clear that they look after their lines as the beer was lovely. Would've stopped for food, but my wife had dinner waiting for me.

Went to The Longshore for my Birthday Lunch & was very pleased that we did. The Food, Service & the Price was excellent, my partner had steak which was succulent with no fatty or gristley bits & cooked to perfection! I had a Cowboy Burger which was absolutely beautiful & seriously tasty. The service was excellent & Gavin & the other staff were very attentive. We had a glance into the kitchen on the way out & saw that it was mega clean, which is always reassuring. The previous Sunday we had lunch at the newly refurbished Harvester in Grinstead Lane & let me tell you that apart from the staff the whole food experience was AWFUL & OBSCENELY OVER PRICED!! Steak was £21.99 & wasn’t even fit to re-sole a shoe with, peas were over cooked & fries were like rubber. Won’t be going back, will be The Longshore for light lunch every time now. Well done guys & MASSIVE BOO TO THE CRAPPY OVER PRICED & CHEAP SOURCED FOOD HARVESTER.

Have been to the Longshore a few times now as Shoreham Airport restaurant is not the same as it was. Always a busy pub and we had a 40 min wait for food but that was ok. Good customer service from the staff Gavin Aston. Good curry. Will be back
