No local fish food, many dishes no longer available at 12:30 lunch. Raw sausages sent back!! Curry in my burger! Awful. Avoid. Not a Padstow experience

Hate giving negative reviews especially for a pub in a place I love like Padstow. Gave a poor review last year and had a response asking me to try again....sadly I did today (13/8/24). The service was again shocking, so slow and with only one person serving, who was swearing, not great, with no social skills. Another member of staff wandering around eating a chocolate bar but assume too young to serve. This is a place I should love as a quaint old pub but the staff (which makes a place) are out of their depth. The toilets stink as well. Place to avoid sadly.

Extremely disappointed with Sunday lunch. No trio of meats, we were offered a duo of meats but not charged accordingly. The roast parsnips I’m sure hadn’t seen an oven and the cauliflower cheese was raw. Roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding were inedible! Don’t be fooled by the advertising boards outside reading “ famous Sunday lunches” And despite having to wait 35 minutes for our food it arrived at best luke warm. Never again!

3 of us ate our evening meal here. Service was very slow waiting for the food to arrive. Two of us had the curry which was meant to be madras but was very bland. The other had the catch of the day curry which for £25.00 was extremely poor. 3 prawns and 3 pieces of fish and a small portion of rice. It didn’t have all the ingredients in it which were listed on the menu! Where was the butternut squash ?! When asked at the bar when we paid if everything was ok I don’t like giving poor feedback but was honest about how disapppinted we were. The barman just struggled and said I don't do the cooking!

This is a lovely pub tucked out of the way in Padstow. The two lads who are serving do a sterling job and are so friendly. The calamari and soup starters were very well executed as were the mains of fish and chips and Greek salad. I was really impressed with the affogato which came with a generous portion of shortbread. All in all, a lovely experience away from the hustle and bustle of Padstow.

Terrible fish & chips! Four of us had them and they were 80% batter with barely and fish. Avoid. Roof terrace is filthy and not somewhere you would want to eat food

Beautiful roof terrace , lovely feeling in and around the pub , kept its old beautiful characteristics over the years , tony , Aaron and the team were very helpful in doing as much as they could to make our visit as good as possible, will definitely be back !

Good beer and very friendly staff. Lost some of its old world charm since being taken over and interior changed.

Such a lovely place to visit. Breakfast is amazing. Food is amazing. Service is sensational. Aaron leads from the front, supporting his guests and ensuring quality guest service. Absolutely love this pub padstow, perfect location, does everything you need good food, drinks with friendly bar people and accommodation although not stayed. Definitely go back and recommend highly if in the area.

i came here on a busy wednesday afternoon, it was very full but the friendly staff managed to get us a table, we waited with drinks and the real ales we fresh and crisp. the manager (tony i think) recommended the fish and chips and wow, the batter was crisp and the portions huge!! dont worry we still had room for another beer and some ice cream on the sun terrace. the deck chairs up there are such a cool touch, so comfy i almost nodded off...lol i will be back now that ive found this hidden gem

We’ve always loved the London Inn but now we feel its standards have slipped. The beer is always good and the staff friendly but certainly upstairs on the sun deck it feels dirty, tables with empty glasses not being cleared away and deckchairs just abandoned in the middle of the floor. Why do you need deckchairs when there is ample seating on the benches. Sadly guys, that’s our last ever visit.

Visited here on 12th June and ordered 4 fish & chips at a cost of £70 and how awful they were, more fish in 1 fish finger than all the 4 fish we bought !! Saw barman and complained but fair play to him he couldn't apologise enough and gave us full refund. Time to get a new chef 👍🏻

I cannot comment on the accommodation as I have never stayed here but I have been here for dinner several times and have always been so impressed. There are plenty of choices on the menu and the food always arrives hot and plenty of it. It has been busy a few times but that does not impact the service. Dog friendly too which is great.

I recommend this pub to our friends as we had a lovely meal whilst on holiday last year. So embarrassed this evening, half the menu wasn't available on arrival 19.15, our food didn't arrive to the table until 20.10, my husband and I had the king prawn curry which was the most bizarre meal I'd ever had , basically 5 prawns a small piece of fish with curry sauce on a large plate with rice £25...shocking . I didn't want to complain as I thought it would spoil our evening with close friends that we hadn't seen in a long time. We then had to complain about the desert as x3 of us ordered sticky toffee pudding the last to arrive was basically the leftover brought to the table in a small bowl. The waiter knocked that off the bill but the whole experience was embarrassing . Will not ever be returning sadly .What's happened London Inn ? you used to be so good.

Went for my birthday dinner. Tony looked after us straight from our arrival. His service was great, very attentive. Could not have asked for better! Good food too. We’ll be back. Thanks Tony.

Visited today 22nd May, first impression not too good as the girl serving was more interested in talking to her friend than acknowledgement of customers, however it was raining and we were hungry, service not ideal initially and certainly not helped by the necessity to virtually undergo an interrogation as to which table we were at when we were the only 2 in the restaurant section, this is aimed at being constructive criticism hoping the management read this. As for the food, it was nothing less than excellent and what was basically bangers, mash, cabbage and onion gravy was as good as anyone could hope for, the cabbage was exceptional as were the sausages described as butchers sausages. I would happily eat at the London Inn again which is a possibility because I live in Cornwall, service less than desirable but food wonderful

Brilliant place. Room was stunning and all the nice touches of coffee pod machine, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. Seriously great value for money and such a warm welcome from the local folks which makes all the difference for us. We’ll be back, Thankyou Darren and Phil 🤩

Found this little gem, an we were highly impressed. So friendly and welcoming. We popped in for a quick drink and ended up having some food too honestly if your looking to go somewhere for food and drinks go here. The fish and chips are so fresh and by far one of the best I've had. Tony who served us was very friendly and welcoming. 5*s from us. Will be coming back 🙂

Definitely do not waste your money Fish and Chips £17 per head. Soggy batter fish grey in colour and taste and very small fish.Mushy peas just tinned and battered. Very disappointed should have visited Rick Stein’s

What a lovely pub! Popped in for some lunch and drinks and stayed a lot longer than expected. Great prices and the food was amazing. A wide range of drinks that will keep everyone happy. Served by Tony who was awesome, made us feel welcome as soon as we walked in and he's such a charasmatic person. Will definitely visit again, infact I can't wait to!

Lovely friendly pub. Maggie, the pub dog, was the best though! Although all the staff and other dogs were fab too!! Can't wait to return!

We had 2 rooms, as we took our Son and Daughter in law as a wedding present. We booked here as we were going to No6 for a meal and this place was literally 2 minutes away. We were so disappointed. The entrance was smelly with plaster bubbling off the walls. The room was dirty. Thick dust on the headboard and pictures. The tin cups supplied for tea and coffee were dirty, I had the wash them before I used them. The coffee machine was so dirty we didn't use it. The radiator was rusty, and the window broken,it wouldn't stay open and the glass was broken. The shower room had holes in the wall, the door was broken, so my husband got shut in there and had to force it open. The shower room was very tired, the grout and mastic was black and mouldy the ceiling had paint peeling off, the shower hose was broken and the water didn't run away in shower, so it nearly overflowed over the top of the shower tray. Our Son and Daughter in laws room was marginally better, their coffee machine was filthy and the room not overly clean. Tge rooms were quite noisy too, from the pub, and you had to keep your curtains closed as you were very overlooked. I raised this all with a member of staff who said they have just had a new cleaner start, so they would have a word with them. Our room had not been cleaned for weeks to get as dusty as it was with thick cobwebs. The only plus side to this place is the bed, that was comfortable, the pillows were horrible, the location is good for exploring Padstow though. We would not recommend this place and would not stay here again

What a great traditional pub tucked away in Padstow. Great atmosphere with both locals and tourists made to feel welcome.

Lovely venue but food very disappointing.

Unfortunately the food was a big let down, 2 burgers came out 15 minutes later cod and chips missing the peas and a kids burgers, another 5 minutes mussels came out .... cold sent them back. , after everyone had finished my mussels came out, yes they were lovely. Puddings again 2 of us got ours and had finished before the other 3 got theirs .. Unfortunately this really spoilt it for us . Unfortunately was not worth the money.

We stayed in The London Inn for 2 nights over the Easter weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our time. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the location of the accommodation was fantastic and overall cleanliness of the room was very very good. If I was to nitpick then there was a little bit of wear on the bathroom ceiling, the shower could possibly win a world record for the worlds loudest (however I found it to be a very good and powerful shower) and the hairdryer also followed in the pattern of the shower in sounding like it could spontaneously combust at any point. None of these however took anything away from our stay. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at The London Inn and would definitely be inclined to stay again in the future.

Lovely dog friendly pub, good food, friendly, efficient staff!

Pretty cool little pub just set back from the main harbour area. Staff are very friendly and they have a good drinks selection. We had fish and chips with curry sauce, barring one or two chips which were a little hard the fish itself, curry sauce and mushy peas were super. Pretty good value for Padstow and we would return.

Dropped in for a quick pint after dinner. Nice friendly staff and clientel. Well kept pint of Tribute.

On our visit to Padstow stopped off for a drink at the London Inn and it was very cosy. Staff at the bar were friendly and the live music was great.

Fantastic place always go when we are down in Padstow,which is usually once or twice a year. Clean and lovely cosy feeling. Food is fantastic and the staff are so welcoming and friendly. Always feel like we are in our local when we visit.

A great stay. Lovely big room, even had a coffee machine with plenty of pods.The check-in was quick and friendly. Service in the pub was great, nothing too much. Food was delightful, chef even popped out to answer a question. Oh and super dog friendly.

Always pop in here on our Christmas week in padstow Last year things seem to of gone hill lot with regards food This year we were always welcomed by the staff and manager The food we had over lunch was to a great standard and served in good time We will be returning next time we are in padstow

We had a nightmare with an Airbnb booking and needed a room asap, the manager in charge on the night of 7th December could not have helped us any more. What amazing customer service. The drinks were nice as well! Thanks again!

Great pub, great beer and great staff. Easy to say, but had a really good night in here. Actually, I’ve had a fair few good nights here. I come to Padstow once a year and always make sure I visit this pub. Always made to feel welcome and a good selection of beers and gins.

Fantastic food & service.... lovely cosy " proper pub" atmosphere..... Ate several times in one week... the food & presentation great & sunday roast with music was spot on ! That coupled with the friendly staff & VIP service for lulu the husky/akita cross dog means this pub gets top marks ! We will be back soon !

Amazing service, atmosphere and friendly staff. Starter of Camembert with tomato and chilli chutney with focaccia bread was divine Battered fish and chips with crush garden peas - the batter was light and crispy with perfect white fish that was very fresh. Gins was a definite and great accompaniment Definitely a pub that cares for both the local community and also visitors by the friendly welcome - thank you for a great evening see you again soon x

Went here for lunch when in Padstow. Ordered 2 Chicken Madras which were £18.00 each. Pricey for a pub grub but Padstow is expensive. The curry sauce was nice enough but certainly not Madras. The problem was the chicken which was rock hard and we struggled to cut through it. Seems as though it had been completely overcooked. We did eat it as we were starving, and no one came over to check if our food was okay. Maybe okay to pop in just for a drink, but we would not return

Great little tradition pub in the heart of padstow. Popped in by chance and was greeted by the friendly staff who recommended some great meals for me and my partner. (Mussels are to die for) Would 100% recommend and visit again.

Tony and his team run a beautiful spot in Padstow.. in my opinion the best for service and a smile as well as the finest menu. Reasonably priced and out out this universe for flavour. First night had the fillet steak which combined with the garlic and herb compound was delicious and savoured every bite. Second visit always welcomed yet again even when busy the southern fried chicken burger with pickled slaw and fries for those not so heavy dining experiences, simply hats off to these guys!! They have the gift of all gab and back it up with the sublime food. 5star across the board. Thanks Tony & team I’ll always remember this and I’ll definitely be back. Called in for breakfast with two work mates, there were no staff around and had to call out to see if they were even open. Eventually we were seated and we all ordered full breakfasts, we waited an unreasonable amount of time for the breakfasts to arrive (there was only one other customer in there) and when they did arrive the items were either cold, just warm or funny tasting. The toast was cold, the eggs were just warm same for the sausage and the bacon was cold and tasted like it was fried with onion or garlic. All in all just a really poor experience. I still paid for my meal even though I really shouldn’t have, I left the plate almost as full as when it arrived! Lesson learnt, I won’t be calling there for food again

Very disappointing. We brought two friends here for lunch as we had enjoyed two evening meals here back in February. What a change. We ordered food and it took ages to arrive and two of us were served and eventually another one of us, then my friend was informed that there would be a few minutes to wait for her "catch of the day" When it arrived it looked as if it had been thrown on the plate and was certainly not pan fried. It was meant to be accompanied by a fricasee of lettuce and peas. It was in fact frozen peas with a few shreds of uncooked lettuce. This dish was £23.00 Our other friend had ham egg and chips that was fine. My husband and I shared the seafood platter. It was meagre with very poor ingredients. (£25) We had been required to pay for the meal at the time of ordering and decided to pass on the desserts. We were going to feedback our dissatisfaction to someone as we left but there were no staff at the bar or anywhere else. Needs much improvement given the high prices.

The worst pub Ive ever visited in Britain, the fact its in Padstow which relies on tourists seems strange, after a fifteen minute wait for bar staff to appear they were rude to everyone in the bar waiting to be served, if people dont want to serve or socialise with customers please dont try working in a pub ,after three visits over three evenings in an attempt to get a normal pub response nothing changed at all,

Nice pub, fab food and staff but very very pricey. Charged £3.45 for orange juice at breakfast which was warm! Room very nice but not soundproofed. Hairs in the bathroom. Communal residential areas were very dirty and the carpet either needs cleaning or replacing. £138 room only. Breakast £72 for two was very nice. So it should be at that price. Will not returm.

We came for breakfast during our last visit to Padstow at the start of the year and it was awesome so decided to return……..unfortunately we wished we hadn’t 😞. NO comparison in standard to our previous visit. Mushroom was dry (to the point it was inedible), the bacon took ‘crispy’ to a whole other level (like it had been left under a hot plate for too long) and the centre of my sausage uncooked (but the outside charcoal!). Really poor ingredients used and would question the ability of whoever cooked it - certainly not worth the price tag and won’t be returning as a result.

We stayed in Padstow for 3 nights and 2 of the nights we ate here. Amazing little pub , Food was freshly cooked , staff where friendly and efficient. We had a relaxed evening chatting and enjoying our food and drinks Thank-you London inn

Long wait for food and when came out only half the order, scrambled egg was running topped off with a soggy mushroom all piled on the cheapest unbuttered white bread. Long wait for tea/coffee which also arrived cold. They even had the cheek to charge...

We had dinner here on Wednesday night and can highly recommend, the staff were great, interior welcoming and cosy and the food delicious.

Was just about OK. Took nearly half an hour for our order to be taken & drinks to be served. The Sunday dinner was 6/10. Beef was chewy, carrots, parsnips & roasts all needed about another 20 mins in the oven - the kids refused...

The fillet steak and mussels were still not ready an hour after ordering so we paid for our starters and left.

A disappointing experience. I ordered smoked salmon fish cakes in plural and got one larger with white fish. When I queried it I was told that the chef sometimes makes one large fish cake and it did have white fish mixed in with the salmon....

For a traditional pub, this was pretty good. We had sausage and mash which was actually very tasty so if you just want simple pub grub at a reasonable price, this does the job.
