Always a pleasure to eat here & Sunday lunch is second to none. I had the trio of meats & it did not disappoint- tender & full flavoured Gloucester old spot pork, slow cooked beef & a very nice portion of chicken. As always- Luke and Toni the stars of the show. Great food, great drink & Great service!

We booked well in advance to take my 89 year old mother out for a birthday Sunday lunch. On being seated we were told they have No Beef No Pork and that only Chicken was left for the lunch menu.We stayed and had a mix of at best cold ham with vegetables. In hindsight should have not bothered as the food was below par versus the many other times we have visited. On leaving they asked for extra payment as we were a table of more than 4 (we were 5 ) and I refused payment mentioning the menu was very limited. We won’t be going again and we will go somewhere you can actually have a choice of Sunday Linch that’s offered on the menu.Very Disappointing.

We were told by a member of staff that they had 3 members of staff phone in sick on the Saturday evening when we were in attendance. I must say the staff were superb and very friendly . The meal overall was the worse meal I have had at the lo keeper had the special which was a shin of beef pie and it wasn’t presented very well and not much taste to it & the sticky toffee pudding was so hard I left it as it was the worse one I have ever had . I will put it down to perhaps some of the staff that phoned in sick were kitchen staff and Hope I will have a better experience should I decide to go again .

it was lovely to be able to sit outside in the garden with the dog ( although I do find picnic tables and seats rather uncomfortable). It was a warm sunny day and good to see plenty of decent umbrellas. Quite a varied menu.; however, when we went to order I asked the manager if I could have a bread roll with my quiche as it was only a starter and quite small. He looked at me as if I'd asked for the moon! Stated flatly that they had no rolls. Did not suggest an alternative - a piece of bread would have been nice, or chips. Apart from that the service and presentation of the food was excellent. Manager needs a bit more training!

Been coming here for years however the last couple of visits have found the new 'manager' (could be french, could be polish guy who looks like Simon leviev -the tinder swindler) extremely rude and unwelcoming. on the last visit, we spoke to a member a staff who said to find a table that was free on the terrace as usual. So we made our way when this new guy shouts something at us, we stop and turn to look at him and he does this weird head guesture as if to say 'what do you want'. Not only rude but embarrassing Infront of the whole restaurant/bar. Then when it comes to paying he snatches the money or your card out of your hand. we also caught him staring at us whilst we were having drinks which made us feel really uncomfortable. Truly awful service. Contemplating complaining to senior management.Hope he is replaced as won't be going there again until he is. The previous manager was lovely.

The service and food were great. We were very well looked after when we arrived without booking on a Saturday lunchtime. However, I would recommend booking as they were really busy and they only just managed to squeeze us in.

My son had fish and chips last Sunday it was full of bones i mentioned it to the waitress who said a lot of people were complaining about it. I mentioned to a friend we had eaten there last week he said they had eaten there in the week he had had fish and was very ill afterwards. Not good. We will not be eating there again.

Burger was rather dry, pie decidedly average but the staff were friendly and attentive on a busy evening.

Visited with friends on a saturday late afternoon about 18.00 after a walk along the river The reviews looked good on line and the walk was very enjoyable apart from the amount of dog mess (obviously not the pubs fault!) The pub was a nice setting which obviously gets busy due to the great location. The bar staff were not particularly welcoming or friendly although there was a great range of draught drinks available. I chose the beer battered fish and chips and it was not great unfortunately. The fish was quite soggy and the chips a little anaemic.

Went here to meet up with some old friends and have dinner. Resturant was fairly busy for a Monday night but got a table for 4 without having to book. Menu was ok for pub grub albeit a little limited, specials board looked a good option and I chose Steak pie and Mash with seasonal veg and a red wine gravy. Have to say I was a little disappointed as whilst pie was ok it was an average pie I could buy at a supermarket, mash again ok nothing special... veg was serves in separate dish and consider of sliced carrots and Broccoli which were very hard, I don't mind my veg al dente but these were undercooked. No Gravy to put over veg or meal just a tiny slither on top of pie. Food came out very quick which made me think this was a microwave meal. Although as I say it was all ok I do feel it is expensive for the quality .. 13.95 for pie and mash that's not freshly cooked feels a tad expensive to me.

The second they bring you disgusting processed mustard in a plastic sachet you've got an instant clue to the level you're dealing with. And it's not premium. The cut, quality and prep of the meat was dubious, the veggies variable, some quite nice. The crumble really oversugared likely packet derived bleurrgh. The portion size was excellent. Service slightly confusing I couldn't tell who to order from or ask for things different people seemed to be doing different things puzzling. Also seemed to be quite a bit of waiting around considering they didn't seem busy. They were pleasant though. Really overpriced for what it is. I paid extra for cauli cheese and stuffing. Yorkshire pud is extra too! Everything extra! I feel a bit ripped off tbh I paid £61 for 2 roasts 1 pudding and 2 soft drinks and it was really average..

Got a takeaway Sunday lunch. It was nice. The Yorkshire pudding, turkey and triple cooked chips were very nice. The stuffing, beef, vegetables, potatoes and gravy weren't at all appetising. The customer service was good, very friendly and helpful.

Ordered a large roast beef dinner takeaway. The order arrived with vegetables and gravy but no beef whatsoever. I submitted a claim on just eat and called the restaurant. The lady who answered seemed disinterested, took my details and asked if I wanted the beef sent out…, the original order took 1 hour to be delivered At first I said yes, but then having looked at the un appetising, soggy vegetables, I the called her back and told her I no longer wanted to wait for my beef, she then hung up on me!! Disgusting food, awful service. Do not order from The Badminton Arms, Coalpit Heath, Bristol
