The Little kitchen Bistro recently catered a funeral I attended in Shawford. The company is so professional & efficient. Every morsel from the samosas, the mango chutney & sandwiches to the lemon meringue pies … It all looked like something from Alices’❣️Wonderland. I shared a mini victoria sponge & I don’t even like cake. Thank you for making everybody feel at ease on a beautiful summer’s day in an English garden. 🪴

Better than the high bar I remembered! I called in for a brunch this morning - brilliant vegetarian breakfast (poached eggs absolutely perfectly cooked) with really fresh ingredients and a choice of toasts. Amazing cappuccino all combined with very well executed and friendly engaged service. Can’t recommend highly enough. Please seek them out - it’s worth it!

Oh my goodness. What a find. A little gem in the most unexpected place. The staff were fantastic and the food came so speedily. The Aussie breakfast my wife had was really good (and we live in Sydney so we should know) but I have to say the wild mushrooms with basil cream sauce, which I had, was a triumph! Absolutely gorgeous. They do all sorts of events and outside catering too. Really reasonably priced, too. They won Winchester business of the year this year and rightly so. Do yourself

My second visit and simply blown away by the food - presented and cooked to perfect (poached eggs to die for with the Vegetarian Breakfast), service along with warm and friendly team and great lively ambience (clearly has strong patronage). Looking forward to trying my other option competing with the Vegetarian Breakfast when I ordered - the Roasted Portobello Mushroom Brunch. Back in September for that! Simply brilliant and rare experience!

This company catered for our work lunches/dinners during a few weeks. The offerings were stingy and tasteless. Costing £12.50pp for a company of about 50. Very easy to make tasty food on the cheap for a lot of people but I wouldn’t recommend this place to do it.

13th Jan 2023: Arrived 8.55am for breakfast. By 9.30am no one had come to offer a menu or take my order. They only have 6 tables, yet people who arrived after me were served, ate their food, paid and left yet no one even acknowledged me. Staff often walked past & didn't stop to check if I was waiting. Worst service ever. Won't be going back on principle even though it's really convenient and looks great.

Was looking forward to visiting here for lunch with my partner and family. Unfortunately the menu looked great but didn’t really hit the mark. Me and my mother in law had the salt beef sandwich, I asked without the cucumber and when it came it had the cucumber but was missing two of the main ingredients listed on the menus.. we then had to awkwardly ask for sauerkraut and mustard to make our own sandwich basically ourselves… in addition to this we also asked to upgrade or change our chips but we just got given the standard chips, which we would have understood if someone had told us we couldn’t change them, but no one did. In addition to this the chicken burger and prawn sandwich were under seasoned and to be honest be had to wait quite a while to be served when they weren’t at full capacity and would have then understood the wait. We also had to ask for one of the dishes that didn’t come out with the other food. My partner did say the coffee was great however so maybe just head there for a coffee! Did tell the staff but only got an acknowledgment that there was a new chef…

Usually nice food, but had an awful experience when it goes wrong. I'll try and keep it brief! Ordered a burger for pick up - asked for very well done. Don't worry, we only do well done burgers, they said. Got home, burger was red in middle and lukewarm. Rang them, and the lady just kept saying "that's not possible - they're all checked". There was no "sorry", or "what can we do to make it right". So, I had no choice but to walk back and show her the burger. All I wanted was a refund over the phone, but she basically didn't believe me until I took it back, at which point the chef apologised but the lady I'd spoken to still didn't apologise (but did say that she's usually very good at customer service!) I just left. They have our number, but there has been no contact from them to discuss or make amends since. Avoid.

Still hungry after this takeaway! More like nibbles to have pre dinner with drinks but at the cost of a meal. Friendly and helpful staff obviously working very hard producing freshly cooked takeaway. Delicious food, however couldn’t swap one dish for us which was a shame, as they said they were too busy….and the food for 2 was barely enough for one person, for £55 for two it was extremely poor value for money even allowing for the hike as it was NYE. The hospitality industry has been hard hit during the pandemic, but even so I expect that when I have restaurant produced food not to feel hungry afterwards!

We decided to visit this place as the reviews were good and it's website made it seem great. I'm pretty sure it tops my list of restaurant disasters. The menu was uninspiring and limited and it turned out that there were three dishes unavailable. So my mother and I decided to have the fresh stuffed pasta with capers. We got gnocchi with a not very nice tomato sauce and no capers. It was basically inedible. The rest of the family had hamburgers with industrial bread and frozen chips. The service was not great either. We had to take our own drinks from the fridge and then waited almost 10 minutes to get the glasses (they were in the dishwasher). The staff were young and inexperienced. They reimbursed us for the pasta/gnocchi when I complained. I felt sorry for them but the management has to take steps to sort this place out before it goes out of business.

Based at the Winchester Golf Academy just outside Winchester, it offers a warm and very friendly cafe with helpful staff and very good coffee and cakes. I can highly recommend the Guinness and chocolate cake. Plenty of space to spread out with a choice of sofas and traditional table seating. We only had a coffee/cake visit but they also do lunches and dinners with some specialty nights; have to return and try that out. I suppose the only down-side (if you can even call it that) is the lack of outlook (car park and putting green). And very good value for money at £6.60 for two coffees and one (shared) cake. They also cater for parties, weddings, events etc.

Being lactose intolerant, I am normally stuck with weak black coffee or herbal teas whenever I go out, so thrilled to find out that they serve soya milk. I asked for a very weak Soya flat white with less than 1/4 shot of coffee, and this was what I got. It is the only place that I have been, that has actually done the coffee as I like. The young lad that made the coffees was very friendly, and even brought us out some golf clubs and iced water, as it was very hot, even though we hadn’t thought to ask for it. Very thoughtful touch. Never considered myself as much of a golfer, but my friend and I soon found ourselves in hysterics. I was really impressed. I frequent this lovely bistros about twice a week. Food offered is breakfast, brunch, . Lunch, fish Friday, a curry evening, supper club and private catering for dinner parties and events. I regularly go for lunch, coffee and cake, private catering on a takeaway basis and I have also attended fish Friday. They serve wine and alcoholic beverages as well as soft drinks and hot drinks. Every time I have been impressed. I often take my toddler for lunch on a Friday and the food is always home cooked, fresh and extremely tasty. The staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. They are so nice to my little girl , remembering her name, making her feel welcomed, putting a pink straw in her drink and bringing her pots of her favourite condiments.I am astounded that the high quality is so consistent and that I have never experienced 'an off day' given that I'm there so much. It demonstrates the high standards of this gem of a place. Even when busy, there are no unacceptably long waits for food. It's just very well run. When I have used the catering service to pick up dinner party food, it has been easy to prepare and absolutely delicious. Situated as part of the driving range, it was the perfect little place to sit and enjoy some sunshine with a really great brunch. Sure, it's not particularly picturesque, situated next to the driving range, but both the indoor and outdoor seating was delightful and the staff even more pleasant. The chef delivered a delicious plate of bacon, avocado and eggs on a toasted muffin which I'd have time after time. The coffees were also particularly good. There doesn't seem to be a page on TripAdvisor for this, Little Kitchen Bistro page is the same company as them. I've never posted on TripAdvisor but was so annoyed at my visit, I feel other people should be made aware before visiting this place! What annoyed me is that the photo on the website shows a lovely brick wall and looks very trendy and cozy, neither the brick wall or atmosphere exists. Is it even legal to use someone else's photos? I understand why they've used someone else's photos because actual photos of the inside would not attract anyone! I arranged to meet a friend here based on the image of the website, so felt like I'd been conned. The food was ok, although the menu was a little unimaginative- nothing I couldn't make myself. The main problem is the feel of the place, it is very old fashioned, dull and dreary. Plastic chairs mixed with ghastly pink wooden ones around plastic tables on blue carpet tiles and vases of plastic flowers does not scream shabby-chic, it screams shabby-cheap. I had a life size model of a horse "staring" at me the whole time with a couple of very creepy looking mannequins next to it. It was quite empty understandably. There are posters advertising that they do catering for wedding me and parties which ordinarily would have been of interest to me as my friend is getting married next year but no thanks. Good luck to anyone else who's booked them for catering. If we had time we would have walked down to town but didn't have much choice but to stay. Not going back needless to say!

Having not been to the bistro for some time, but living very close, a good friend and I decided to meet for a lunchtime get together. What a disappointment yet again. The menu is very limited and come with fries, fries or fries. There is still no appreciable dessert, and the cake on offer was dry and average. Short on staff it was not the best venue, although the excuse was down to the evening meal preparation? Not wanting fries with my fishcake, I asked for salad instead and was staggered to get a few additional leaves on my plate and little else.I may go again but this could be so good, if they could just grasp what Bistro means, when they do it will be excellent. Yes it was busy and a lot of people may feel it is already excellent, but perhaps their expectations may be lower than mine!

Excellent food and service with Sarah first class. Menu choice good and licensed for wine etc. Only downside was chair discomfort alleviated by coffee on settees.

We live local but if you are traveling south on the A34 this is a far better place to stop than a 'normal' service station. Pull off at Winchester and take the second left at the first small roundabout then at the second roundabout take the first left onto a single lane road to Kings Worthy. Entrance is on the left. The staff are brilliant as is the chef who makes his own sausage rolls, and other things. It is a comfortable place to be in the environs of a golf range with people who wish to look after you. The latter is very refreshing in these days.Great locally made cakes as well.We like a lot.Bill Morrison

Best full English without having to travel in to Winchester. Easy to park. Staff always really friendly and welcoming. Food always hot and fresh. We had a staff meeting here tonight and had freshly made pizzas, wine and cake. Really enjoy coming here, it's warm, comfortable and great value for money.

First morning after the clocks changed and the chef had not arrived yet so a bit unfair to review it but- the young lad who was behind the till was brilliant and managed to serve, take orders and prepare food by himself whilst also remaining polite and professional (whatever they are paying him he deserves a bonus). The food was very enjoyable and made from good ingredients and served well. The location is out of winchester and does require a car but easy parking. Set in the local golf course and part of the golf club shop which makes it prone to noise. The website does not reflect this. The location is also just off the main road and makes it an EXCELLENT alternative to motorway services for a food stop - also does cooked to order take out food.

I met a friend for a cup of tea and an enormous slice of the delicious carrot cake. We stayed so long, I also sampled one of their sausage rolls. All delicious and I took the kids back for brunch the next weekend. They went off for a swing at a few golf balls and the adults got to enjoy some peace, knowing they were safe. It's a great place for friends and families, great food, lovely atmosphere and plenty of free parking (a novelty for Winchester!). would highly recommend and am planning a lunch soon...

Lovely fish supper this evening at the Little Kitchen Bistro. We've been for lunch several times, but this was our first evening foray. It didn't disappoint: the Panko Salmon was lovely, and the Seadog* looked great. Very good value for money for the quality of food. We will be back.* Fish finger roll

The girl behind the counter was pleasant enough but could have had more training in customer service. I don't know why they call it a Bistro as all they cook are bacon baps, sausage baps and breakfasts at lunchtime. There are a few things they have like cold salads and pies or sausage rolls which are befitting for a works café. I think on the board they have a burger for £10!! No fresh fish and I don't know how long they have had the salads on the front counter. Cakes looked o.k although a bit messy looking.Could find much better places to eat and cheaper.Coffee was good though.

My children had a free golf taster session at the golf academy so I had a coffee and the most delicious chocolate biscuit cake, sat in the sun on the patio.

I can't comment on food at all but what I do know is that being charged £2.20 for a can of coke is not normal. The most expensive can of coke I have ever had in my life and this is after trips to Wembley and other massive rip off sporting venues. This place really does need to look it's prices as they are extortionate. I'm afraid whenever people ask me about this place I can't get past the sheer greed of this.whole sale the coke is about 10p a can.

We visit this little bistro adjoining the golf driving on the outskirts of Winchester as it ideally located just off the A34 every time we visit the area. It is a must for coffee, varieties of lunch and the Fish & chip evenings really set a target.

I have heard so many fantastic reviews of this place. Im a local resident and a mummy of 3 so time to visit places like this are few and far between. What a wonderful place. It is decorated in a cozy but clean almost ski resort feel. Very high standard. The prices, in my opinion and certainly for what you got are very reasonable. The cakes are utterly fantastic, wonderful selection, to be honest that was the downside............which cake to choose, the coffee and walnut, lemon drizzle, white chocolate and pistachio, cherry bakewell cake but I decided on the red velvet for something a bit different. It was absolutely delicious! The Rocky Road was just £1 for a piece! The service was very good. The environment mixed with the golf shop and drive is very well matched with a very relaxed classy feel. I highly recommend, its welcoming to all families, couples, friends and there where a couple of gents with their laptops working! The location is idyllic with stunning views! Next I need to go whack some balls on the driving range!

I visit this venue most weekends with my little girl. The staff are all incredibly accommodating, the atmosphere is lovely and the food is exceptional. My daughter is only one and so can sometimes fuss over food - not here. She loves it and happily sits eating it in the relaxed atmosphere. The staff are always very kind to her.The soup never fails to impress me. Everything is homemade. Sometimes I share a piece of cake with my partner or my friends when I visit and they are always delicious. Very generous portions.Everything is spotlessly clean. It's a lovely place with a lovely atmosphere.I love The Little Kitchen Bistro and highly recommend it.

The café in the museum grounds at the top of the high street, Winchester has recently changed hands & is now run by The Little Kitchen Bistro. This café always was a great place to go for a coffee or lunch. It has attached to it a mini museum which kids can roam around, dress up, play floor snakes & ladders, see full size soldiers, a horse & lots of artifacts. Now with an even better menu it is even better! Today the 3 adults had the chicken curry with a nan for £6 each. It was mild but tasty & stuffed with chicken. The children loved the homemade soup with chunky fresh bread, but equally love the delicious range of sandwiches, jacket potatoes, paninis & other meals. The homemade cake is to die for! We shared big wedges of chocolate cake & coffee & walnut - truly delicious! Parking is free, you need to ask for a pass to put in the car window, & park outside the Green Jackets museum. Kids also love going round this museum & the Ghurka one opposite. It truly is a lovely place to spend a few hours with children. Worth knowing it is closed on a Monday. We visited with friends for lunch and were greeted by a very friendly lady who explained what was on offer and took us to our table. We made our choices and the drinks and food was all with us very soon after. We all enjoyed the food we ordered and the service throughout was perfect. On the day we were there it was very peaceful and relaxing which also helped to make our visit so enjoyable. We all thought it was great value for money and would definitely come back

It is not easy to find this bijoux eatery. Do not use your satnav to find it because you will be taken to a rather random section of the A34 dual carriageway. You need to find this off the back road to Kings Worthy from the Three Maids roundabout. This is situated on the Winchester Golf Academy site and there is plentiful parking and a flat walk to the Bistro. We had lunch and there was a more extensive menu than it first appeared. However if you need distance reading glasses take them with you because the menu is only on blackboards behind the counter and I found them difficult to read!Service was prompt - food was delicious and moderately priced. Server was communicative and very passionate about her job. This eatery serves the best coffee for miles around - and it's worth exploring just for your caffeine fix!The interior is really well presented. There are not that many covers so if this is your venue of choice it might be worth ringing in advance. I don't know if they take reservations.Do visit - this place was great!

Excellent food, all home cooked and locally purchased, whether snacks or full meals, absolutely delicious; very welcoming staff, friendly and helpful, much appreciated by we older customers! It's actually quiet enough to hear each others' conversations. Overall, a lovely experience, and I wish I could afford to eat there every day! The only adverse comment would be the lack of decent outlook, but everything else more than makes up for this.

How can you mess up a Ploughman’s Lunch? Come to the D&C and see. Microwaved half baguette that went dry, crisp and stale immediately. Cheese was appalling. The worst type of cheap, tasteless, doughy cheddar. Pork pie that was missing the pork. We will not be returning.

We thought it was good but no more. The staff were very polite and attentive. Excellent sourdough (although would of been nice to be included on a £49.95 for 3 course lunch) and cracking pigs in blankets. Cured trout was a lovely light starter. Beef fillet although accurately cooked lacked the wood fired characteristics. A fillet really doesn't have enough time to get flavour from the wood fired oven due to its size. Other larger cuts of beef with some fat would be a better choice. Accompanying veg were ok but the cauliflower cheese again lacked any of the advertised 'wood fired' flavour and cheese sauce a little thin. We also thought this recently when dining in the Avenue restaurant what a shame there are no real local sparkling wines listed. Yes Ridgeview is in Southern England but some 70 miles away. You've got excellent quality producers like Black Chalk, Hattingley Valley, Louis Pommery, Raimes, Candover Brook and The Grange all within 10 miles.

A big shout out to these guys. Service & food was brilliant. We were visiting my dad in the hospital & as the visiting hours are 2pm onwards 🙄 I thought I would take my mum for lunch first. From thr first phone call, to service, & the food - & I'm fussy!!, you won't be disappointed! And portions were huge! The pickled watermelon 😱 was amazing! Nothing to fault at all. Thank you, we will be back ! Might even bring dad lol
