The owner is a real gentleman. I broke down in his car park at 8.30am and he made me a cup of tea and a breakfast sandwich while I waited for a recovery. He has owned this pub for 40 years and is very friendly. Stop in for a chat or to see the amazing artwork in the beer garden out back.

Met for a (private) function in the back room. Service from staff was very good. Didn't go into the main pub, so couldn't comment.

This is a dying breed and what a find, a traditional British pub, fabulous food, drinks and service, with a brilliant atmosphere, if you want fine dining then stay clear, it's good holesome plentiful food, with excellent service, a pool table, music, sports and a landlord who takes no c@ap. We stayed in our motorhome in the car park, so didn't see rooms but met a group of 7 men who had stayed and go there every year, they said the rooms were basic but fantastic value for money and very clean. Absolutely loved it and so much so we stayed 2 nights, we NEVER do that, was great x The landlord is 84, been in this pub for 43 years and he couldn't do enough for you, what a gem and the locals are extremely welcoming. We will be back,

Room tired, bathroom very tired. I had to clean the shower in the shared bathroom before using. Not enough loo roll and no bristles on loo brush. Room was clean and staff were friendly and helpful. I was late arriving but the barlady did still make me some food. Fried breakfast was great. Not bad for the money but probably won't be back due to the bathroom and number of bedrooms that share it.

An incredible place. An old fashioned pub that has music at its heart. The Lion is unique in this area and deserves support. Go buy a beer!

Not recommended! A pub with a grim feeling, booked a room, mould on the wall, unhealthy and low standards, refused to get a refund.

Came to a party that was held in the back room . The welcome was poor by the bar staff . The room had seen better days , mould on the walls, barman constantly disappeared. Cash only in the bar of the room but card only In the main bar in the pub which sold beer on tap ! Jukebox was paid for upfront , which was a disaster ,no one seemed to know how it worked ! Numbers 1 and 4 didn't work , so we were limited on choice . Considering the free juke box cost £40 was a rip off . Advertised a free rental of the room but actually cost £50 for the barman that was hardly there , £50 for the cleaner, and then £40 for the dodgy jukebox that didn't work properly , it actually works out a very expensive hire for a dirty venue . I felt sorry for the person who was 75 who paid this amount of money. Its an absolute disgrace .

Would give this 0 stars if I could. Room was riddled with mould and filth. Wood is rotting and room absolutely stank of cigarettes. They keep prisoners in better conditions than this. Beds were grim. Lay my own towel on top of the bed and slept on that with no cover as was all so horrible. Don’t think the TV remote has ever been cleaned

Goodbye Goose and hello Annare. Lovely fresh makeover complete with very friendly mum and son team. We were served by the son who apologised for the delay in our coffee. He told us it had been ready but was sitting behind the counter whilst he served a couple of walk-ins...not really what we wanted to hear. We enjoyed a delicious fresh home-baked lasagne and will definately be returning however they serve Illy coffee which is rather too strong for my liking so will try tea next time.

Very nice lunch. As there was a large crowd in, service was a bit slow, but we weren't in a hurry! Have been several times recently and always enjoyed the good food. Hope to come again soon.

Gordon Ramsay level food. I reached enlightenment after 0.1 second after putting the chicken in my mouth. Very nice food with alot of flavour. Staff is very friendly and respect your choices. I will 100% come here again. Best food in the world. Gordon Ramsay got some competition. Phil Johanson is 100% lying, these mushrooms werent covered in breadcrumbs.

First and foremost, the service we received was abysmal. The woman behind the counter was not only rude but also exhibited a complete lack of customer service skills. This behavior made our visit anything but enjoyable. To make matters worse, our orders were consistently incorrect. We received Yogoos that we did not order, and when we attempted to bring this to the attention of your staff, we were met with refusal to acknowledge their mistakes. It is unacceptable to serve customers the wrong items and then not take responsibility for the errors. My child doesn’t even like Kit Kat and had ordered Oreo, when we questioned this your staff member shouted “that we had ordered Kit Kat,” and shrugged her shoulders. Furthermore, I was astounded by the complete lack of child-friendliness. Families should be made to feel welcome, and this was not our experience. This is an important aspect of a family-oriented business that should not be overlooked. What was particularly shocking was when we dared to provide feedback on the subpar service we received. Instead of accepting constructive criticism, the staff member argued back, stating that we were not welcome and shouldn't return, and that she had been in a good mood before we came over. This level of unprofessionalism is not something we expected from Yogoo Guildford. I hope you take this complaint seriously and consider it an opportunity to improve your service and customer experience. Our visit to Yogoo Guildford was nothing short of a disappointment, and I hope you can rectify this situation to ensure that other customers do not have to endure a similar experience.
