The Ling Bob in Bradford

Me and the hubby called in tonight for a meal and we was blown away with the service and the food :) we will definitely be back ;) great value too;)

Popped in for tea on a Saturday night and hadn't realised that booking is advised. However, the owner was brilliant, and managed to squeeze us in. Service was excellent throughout, with both owners/managers very personable, knowledgeable, and helpful. Lovely little place, that feels cozy and welcoming - though for me personally it was too warm with the two open fires. However I know others who would have really appreciated them! Proper local pub in a way, full of special evenings for quizzes, cheaper drinks, parties, and more. Brilliant selection of lagers both alcoholic and also non alcoholic which was nice to see. The food.... Well, just wow. There's a very special specials board, with some very unusual and interesting dishes. I went for a special starter of king prawns and roasted grapes, and it was outstanding! The game pie sounded phenomenal too, but I just wasn't hungry enough to have done it justice, so opted for a couple of other starters. My partner meanwhile went for the big fat greek grill, and he was not disappointed! The plate was laden with expertly cooked meat, and very interesting sides. We both then finished with the orange semolina cake, and it's not something you want to miss out on. However, I suspect the chocolate ice cream it came with was bought in, as it didn't taste as high quality as everything else we'd had to eat. So that was a tiny disappointment in an evening of excellent food and drink. We will definitely be returning again, because there were so many things on the menu we wanted to try, and the quality was excellent. Definitely not one to miss, but do phone and book in case you aren't as lucky as we were and they can't squeeze you in!

Excellent. The owners accommodated our large group with friendly service. The Greek/english food was amazing. If you’re in the area I would highly recommend!!!

Make sure that you're not in a hurry when go there, and by that I don't mean anything against the service, which is prompt, efficient, and very friendly. The reason is that the food is absolutely wonderful, and the portions are extremely generous, so it deserves to be savoured at leisure. Went there with my father on his birthday, and after the gorgeous main course I didn’t have enough room for a dessert. Next time I will make sure I am absolutely starving when I arrive there.

An excellent discovery. The staff are friendly and efficient and the Greek based menu is excellent (classic English options also available) The prawn saganaki was excellent

The staff are lovely, but the food was over salted and it was impossible to eat the chips.

Food bit overpriced. Fish lovely, chips ok, should be about £12 at the most burger bit too small. Lovely staff and very welcoming.

Family meal for a birthday. A few of our party chose the steak and ale pie and not one of them finished as the meat very over salty. Mentioned this to the staff and I assume the owner was very annoyed with our complaints. Definitely will not be visiting again.

One to avoid for the price at least, previously good but it seems corners are now being cut, not sure if it's quality of Chef or ingredients or both? Ordered the pie which was overly seasoned. The T bone steak (which was £30!) was a huge disappointment! Service was good. Overall disaster food wise.

We've been driving past this pub for some time and never called in, so after another sortie to collect logs for the winter we decided on a whim one lunchtime to give it a try. Glad we did. A well kept pint of TT's Boltmaker was a good start for me. Greek cuisine seems the forte here. I tried the lamb meatballs with skin-on fries which were excellent. Portion sizes were generous. It was quiet but the decor had obviously been improved recently and there was evidence the owners and staff were keen to impress as service and cleanliness was exemplary. We will return. Recommended.

Quiet Wednesday lunch but great starters for mid day meal! Service brilliant!

Very good table service. Good selection of ales and largers. And a good variety of food on offer, not just greek. Always the same on returning, which in my mind is a 👍

Bumbling across the countryside we were starving and happened along to the Ling Bob, the owner and staff were amazing and so helpful. With some steering from the owner, my wife had the Fish Pie, (very good) and I had the Greek Beef stew (very good), the starters of fried feta balls and greek sausage were amazing. A very nice pint of Ossett's White Rat and a stellar wine went down well, with some quality pub comfort food. Again, the food (with a greek flair) and the drink were very good on their own, but the staff and owner were top notch! Great old pub with visitors and neighbors alike in attendance. We will be back!

We stopped by chance on way back to hebden bridge what a find lovely friendly service fabulous moussaka and bougatsa could not fault it Excellent if we return to this area woujd visit again

Great music, great beer, friendly staff would go back again and again. (Plus they had a really cool vintage after shave dispenser in the gents !)

I live close by & have tried the Ling Bob a few times with family & friends for food & drinks. I have been made to feel unwelcome each time but kept giving them another chance. I feel this is because I am not a regular. I feel there is an obvious clique of locals that frequent the place & that management/staff are happy with this & are hostile to outsiders but you would surely think they would want to attract new custom? Anyway I will not be going in again & will certainly not recommend the place to anyone either.

Great place...choice of English or Greek food but predomiably Greek. Delicious meals....veey attentive staff....nothing is too much trouble. Will be going back. Highly recommended.

Just had a splendid meal at the ling bob, I booked the table a few days ago for 16 people ! We got a very warm welcome, service was great, spoilt for choice with the menu, we all had a lovely time. Food was great and hot, we had a 3, 6, 7 and 9 year old with us, they all had different meals and ate the lot. Portion sizes really good, great value for money, we’ll certainly be back very soon . X x

Excellent restaurant. Visiting friends who live very local to here I have been a number of times now and the food has always been superb 10/10. The portion sizes are very big and the taste is second to none. Good bar as well and excellent service by Thanos.

Recommended to come here by friends and it didn’t disappoint! We fancied a change from a Sunday roast lunch (although they do that too) and opted for the Greek menu. I have family who run a Greek restaurant down south so we’ve got high expectations 🤣 but the Ling Bob food exceeded our expectations and then some! Absolutely fabulous. Our daughter is dairy free and they were more than happy to change some ingredients to suit her. Busy place with diners and people popping in for a drink which made for a good atmosphere. All in all a 5⭐️ experience and we will most certainly return.

Visited with relatives. We arrived early but the staff were great and sorted out seating to get us a table. The service and food were excellent with the 3 Greek dishes we had particularly good. Highly recommended

Brilliant pub hosted by the ever friendly Thanos. Great food, great drinks. Even a fantastic open mic night every 1st Sunday of the month.

Great little pub, popped in for a drink and was greeted with amazing and friendly service. We were given some solid gin advice and recommendations.

Lovely evening with friendly staff and great service. The food was really tasty and a great choice of food on the menu. Reasonable prices to suite all budgets. I had two starters rather than a big main meal and both were delicious. I will definitely come back. Ps. The lovely fire was so welcoming 🔥.

Very welcoming. Exceptional food of a very high standard. Very cold outside but we were like toast inside by the wood burning stove. The owner was very helpfull & courteous. The staff were friendly & polite, nothing was too much. A super evening and tasty exquisite food. Thank you for an excellent evening for myself, my wife & my daughter.

We booked the Ling Bob for my retirement meal as some of us have been before. I have been previously with a big group (17) which has not caused any difficulties. The owner is always obliging. The numbers, unfortunately were less than we had booked for (14 to 9). This did not seem a problem for the owner. He was very attentive and interested to know where we worked. They put us in the room to one side with the log burner, which kept us very warm! The food was delicious and good choice for vegetarians. I had the Falafel burger and chips, which was delicious. Nothing was too much trouble. He did 2 starters for one of our group as a main and served them both when we got our mains. They also packed a desert for her as she had to leave early. Everyone said they enjoyed their food. One commented on the lovely Greek food. I will definitely be back.

Went up for lunch with my elderly father who has recently moved along with my mother to wilsden. The pub was very quiet but the lovely log fire was burning and the staff were welcoming . Dad had scampi ( hadn't had it for yrs) I chose 2 starters as I couldn't choose between them, calamari and tempura King prawns which were presented on a bed of samfire and sweet chilli sauce, the latter was absolutely delicious. Unusually the also did chenin blanc by the glass ( my favourite) hence we stayed longer than anticipated.

The proprietor was warm and inviting. He loved serving his food and was proud of the desserts he made! The place was neat and tidy plus the patrons were quite friendly. I would definitely go back.

Food was lovely, although they don't do rare steak (personal preference) the food was absolutely gorgeous. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Dogs allowed. 😁

Lovely family meal. The manager was very accommodating making room for our grandson in his pram. All staff were friendly and polite. The food was lovely and it will be a firm favourite of ours going forward.

Had steak and ale pie, not great. Unevenly cooked pastry and dry meat towards the edge of the pie. Peas undercooked.

3rd time eating here from Greek menu. My daughter and I chose pork or chicken skewers. 3 on each plate with rice, and greek salad. Delicious and excellent value for money.

Had a really nice lunch, lots to choose from, opted for several starters as a tapas type lunch. Tempura King prawns were amazing , went for lunch at 1pm and stayed till gone 7pm

Had spit roasted pork, pepper, onion , unfortunately don't believe for one minute anything on my plate had been spit roasted ever ! Came with soaky wilted 'Greek salad' and reasonable chips Girlfriend had seabass, 'Greek salad' and chips Her seabass was lovely, same problem with 'Greek salad ' Still struggling to find good quality food served in local pubs within a 5 mile radius of home !!! Emphasis is on Greek food, given a bit of a UK twist by adding chips. Portions generous and quite tasty. Had to request a second round of drinks as no staff really paying any notice. It wasn't busy. It's OK, lacks finesse. A bit more attention to detail and this could be a regular go-to place for casual eats.

Been twice recently to their quiz with the Happy Friends group. We won £20 vouchers first time and a bottle of wine the second time. A good atmosphere and a fun crowd.

Had an absolutely gorgeous meal at the Ling Bob. The Greek food is so tasty and the pita bread is lovely, light and fluffy. Best trip out in a while. Land lady and land lord are lovely. All in all a great place to visit and I will definitely be returning soon 👍

Their scampi and chips were great, Poseidon burger also, service with a smile and nice atmosphere.

The last time that I visited the Ling Bob was to hear a folk band play something like half a century ago. Then it was a semi-rural local, fairly cheap and very cheerful. It's metamorphised into essentially a restaurant with friendly hosts. It's still possible to go for a drink, and there's a good selection on draught, but it really does not feel like a pub in the way that it used to. The restaurant is brilliant. We had homemade steak pie: totally delicious and a credit to the chef. We were lucky to get a table on Sunday at lunchtime. Although it was empty when we arrived (sometime between 12 and 1) most of the tables were reserved and it soon filled up, so reservations are advised. It's run by a couple, and the male half is of Greek origin, which is reflected in the menu offerings, but happily a good honest pie served with chips was also available. Highly recommended as somewhere to eat. We'll be back next time business takes us to Wilsden.

Fabulous Greek night tonight, service, food and music truly excellent, I even tried a bit of Greek dancing myself, loved it!

Had a lovely lunch with my wife here this week, friendly owner, the Greek options on the menu were a nice alternative to standard pub offerings. Now we have found it we will be back soon.

Very good service, The food and drinks were superb. My dog was allowed to lay by fire which he really enjoyed after a long walk.

Came for lunch yesterday with a friend. She had heard that there was Greek food on the menu. We were absolutely not disappointed. Falafel, Dolmades, Greek salad and Chicken skewers. We asked for those all to come at the same time which amused the lovely lady taking our order. What a feast! Everything was delicious and we will definitely be back, thank you so much

Staff friendly overall but once I complained about Kleftiko it was swimming in thin sauce, was told that was how it was served there and they would get Thanos to come over. We have a lot of Greek heritage in the family and visit Greece frequently so was disappointed in the experience. Thanos didnt appear so we paid bill and left. Green beans waterlogged and roast potatoes black and unpalatable. My partners meal was OK though. It seems a mixed bag depending on what you order.

Food was good, beer was good, and staff were excellent!

Just had couple of beers with my sons. Host and bar staff really welcoming, however some of the locals made you feel less than welcome... certainly had that cliché village feeling about the place, which is odd as my son lives in Wilsden village. Obviously don't like new faces

It was my aniversery 36 years so thought i would treat my wife for a meal, i orderd drinks which the landlord must have forgot them as he only rememberd when he came back into the dining area, i had the steak n ale pie, it was good but had better, wife had kotopoulo lemonato, this was a small portion and the chicken was rather dry, we also ordered a portion of beer batterd onion rings, which they had forgot, they where brought out later after the reminder, but hey ho it was our aniversery so it wasnt going to spoil it 👍

The pie was chicken stue with a bit of pastery on top.the chips.Were overcooked oversaulted shop bought French fries. £13.00 FOR PIE AND CHIPS.£15.00 FOR Sunday dinner. NO Ido like Quontaty over quality this provides neither Toby Calverley next time

We were very pleasantly surprised after dropping in when passing. The professionalism and friendliness of the owners was first class. I was surprised that the menu was Greek themed, although by no means in a bad way. English dishes are also available. It was difficult to choose from the exciting extensive menu. Vegetarians,vegans and gluten intolerant customers also are well catered for. Dog friendly too. Whether you want to eat, or just a drink the atmosphere is excellent. It was so good we are going back again with the extended family.

Enjoyed a wonderful meal here today. They specialize in Greek cuisine and the kleftiko was excellent . Efficient and friendly service completed the experience. Will definitely be returning.
