A broad choice of ales, busy on a Wednesday afternoon, nice atmosphere good for a quiet drink.

Great Ale house. However they don’t serve food.

Deceptively large pub serving casks ales and keg lagers ect. Several cosy rooms spread over two floors. loads of character, liked it 👍

Nothing more I can say about this place thar hasn't been said already. Just wish they would rotate their keg ale offering. Nothing wrong with Virtuous but it's nice to be able to try different beers.

Best ale House for miles Brilliant staff, Simon and Kirstan are probably the best Landlord and Landlady around.

A fantastic place with a great selection of beers and a friendly atmosphere. There are various rooms and cosy seating areas. We both had a Brownie Hunter which was spot on. I can't wait to go back.

I used to live in the village and this was my local. I went back there the other weekend for the first time in many years. You can't go wrong with this place. Always a lovely atmosphere and good beer. The new longer bar qirks well too.

Friendly real ale pub that is much larger inside that it looks outside. I don't eat there, so I can't comment on the food.

Top drawer ale house a short walk from the saltaire world heritage site. Loads of ales on offer that change regularly. Amazing selection of drinks. Several rooms and an upstairs. Real fire and dog friendly. Good vibe . Very highly recommended… 🍻 🐕

Recently moved to Shipley and have been walking past this place on my way home from work in Saltaire. Amazing decor, like a proper old school pub, great selection of beers (as a Czech man I can't drink lagers that aren't Czech or German, so happy they have Warsteiner) Staff are also great as is the atmosphere no matter the day👌🏽

What can i say about Fanny's, iconic, a Yorkshire institution and one of the best real ale pubs you will ever visit. It doesn’t matter what beer you drink it Will be on top form and perfectly poured, also don't be deceived into thinking it looks small as there's extra seating in the back and upstairs aswell. 👑 This is only the second you must visit crown given.

I remembered this as a great venue when I last visited far too many years ago, and was pleased to see it hadn't changed at all. A fantastic range of beers, all in perfect condition - in fact, the guy who served us came back to check a pint we'd had was OK as it was from near the end of the barrel - it was, but that just goes to show the emphasis they put on quality. A great atmosphere where conversation and well-chosen music rules. Just what a pub should be.

A truly memorable night out at Fanny's Ale House. This drinking establishment has a real good vibe about it and a brilliant atmosphere also. The bar staff are very welcoming and very knowledgeable about the different beers, lagers and ciders which the bar sells. Always a good selection of different drinks to choose from. I would seriously recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a great night out.

Great real ale House with lots of choice. It was relatively busy on the Friday afternoon but finding a seat (upstairs) wasn't a problem. The staff are always friendly and pleasant and definitely know how to pull a pint. Worth a visit if you're wanting good beer.

Unique experience, that should be a model for other pubs. Also exceptionally great staff who I think contribute a lot without people realising.

This pub has a great feeling about it. An excellent night out with a great atmosphere. Also an excellent range of beers, lagers and ciders plus excellent bar staff. This pub has great deco and the bar staff are also very knowledgeable about the different products they sell. I would strongly recommend this drinking establishment to both serious ale drinkers, but also to those who are just wanting a leisurely drink or are looking for the ultimate drinking experience, Definitely well worth visiting if you are in the local vicinity. Saltaire village is literally just down the road and within walking distance from here which is also worth visiting, and is also a unesco world heritage site situated on the banks of the River Aire.

A quite brilliant place for a beer in a particularly lovely location. Superb old building, a former police station, great choice of cask and keg with something for everyone, some terrific old pub memorabilia and fabulous staff. Lucky locals.

Didn’t eat here but did pop in for a beer. Great selection of beers including Timothy Taylor’s. Quirky little pub with a lovely atmosphere. Oh, and a fireplace. Always a win in January.

Proper pub, with a wide variety of friendly people and excellent staff. Had such a warm welcome to the area by coming in here. The place has a real fire and really cosy. It's also a bit like a TARDIS - way bigger than you think!

I’ve been coming here on and off for years but in the last week I’ve been twice and the atmosphere and service is excellent. Had an issue with a beer and this was changed without any quibble and given quality service. Thanks

Fannys Ale house never let's you down for first class real ales and for service.....it is a very warm atmosphere ....The best pub in Yorkshire

Shipley is blessed with some very good pubs. Introduced to this gem of a pub by a friend on a visit to the nearby salts Mill this is definitely worthy of five stars. This lovely rustic Style pub has a fantastic range of cask conditioned hand pulled real ales. There is also a good range of other beers and lager. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and so are the other customers. It's dog friendly too. A great pub highly recommended.

During the week it was a bit quiet but still a few people in, more than what I thought because it had so many different places to sit on two floors.

Fanny's Alehouse has a great atmosphere and is a fun find. Quirky interior with lots of rooms and space for boardgames. Love it here so far.

Who doesn't like a good fanny especially when there is rather some good alea on tap. Great atmosphere great ales and just a great pub. You could easily spend hours drinking some really good ales. Really friendly staff and dogs are aloud. Just a fab pub

I was made to feel very welcome even though this was my first visit under this management. Great traditional surroundings with a new modern bar. Good selection of ales lagers and ciders. Will be back

Great little boozer, packed as well which helps in this vmclimate and wasn't too expensive

My first time in Bradford for some years, having lived here for five years as a student in the early-mid 80s. Most of my friends now live out of the city, many in Saltaire/Shipley. So when I took a trip down memory lane (mainly to say farewell to a dear but dying friend) we needed a good pub to drown our sorrows and toast our memories of our beloved friend. I'd never heard of Fanny's, but I now think it's one of the best pubs I've been in for ages. A terrific atmosphere, loads of great nooks and crannies to hang out in, a piano -- which added to the cheery atmosphere, friendly bar staff and an array of great beers. I'll certainly be back. Congratulations to whoever found the site and transformed it into a local drinking hole (Saltaire used to have no pubs back in the day). Highly recommended.

It's been several years since we visited this bar and the changes that have been made are excellent given a brighter feel but still a great ambience. There's a great selection of ales and prices are very reasonable. Service is faultless. We won't be leaving it so long until our next visit.
