We called in for lunch. The food and service was excellent. Lovely staff, well worth a visit. We will be back

I just want to praise the incredible service on Sunday provided by Georgia, Liam, Chloe, Ellie and Lucy! Very busy but they did not stop and tried their best. The food was incredible and then in the evening a great quiz hosted by a friendly host!

Music is very good staff are very friendly sometimes they have no pizza bases

Went for the Bottomless Bruch yesterday. We had a fantastic time. 6 of us. All our food was delicious and the cocktails were gorgeous. Staff were amazing. Will definitely be returning.

Went here on Saturday for a bottomless brunch, there was myself and two others. Bottomless brunch was well organised and the waitress was friendly and pretty on it to be fair! Food came quick and the portion size was HUGE we were so full. Great ties for a Saturday at 4. Loved the secret garden too where we went after to finish our drinks. Highly recommended, bravo brings the buzz to Idle!

Our first visit to Symposium today,meal for my Birthday and we weren't disappointed. The place is tastefully decorated and a nice atmosphere. The menu is varied with choice for all tastes.we had starters and mains,which were all presented well,warm and delicious. My Grandson's had food off the children's menu,and by the clean plates they were happy.My Daughter and i also tried a few cocktails which were good too. All in all a great first impression and will be back to try the Sunday lunch soon.

Came for a meal with friends and the menu was so good that we ended up getting starters, mains and desserts. The cocktails list is fantastic (the cherry bakewell is my personal favourite) and everything is incredibly reasonably priced. The staff were super friendly and helpful booking a table over the phone and in person. We will absolutely be back very soon to try out more food and cocktails!

Food is amazing, and the loaded fries were the best while I visited the area.

Hired symphosium for a couple of hours for a 50th gathering. The service was great and the food was amazing. Georgia made sure we were looked after.

Brilliant bottomless lunch, disappointing food. First, we had a fab time. Staff were attentive and joined In with jokes and some of the fun. Our time started once our party had arrived, they gave us 15 minutes grace. The drinks were brilliant. If we asked we got, no fuss. The food was terrible, my loaded nachos were dry and cold with sour cream and guacamole from a bottle not fresh. The chicken wings and fries were tiny served in a small ramekin. The festive platter for 2 was slightly better but was 15 minutes behind everyone's else's food. Such a shame but we came away hungry, merry but hungry. One other thing to consider are the stairs of doom if you need the loo, they are narrow and steep not ideal for our party with various limb issues.

Food is amazing and decent priced .. fab atmosphere had such a good night here .. staff were all friendly especially Chloe nothing was to much trouble for her will definitely come here again!

What an asset to Idle! Providing enjoyment and social opportunities for big kids and small ones too. Our most recent visit was for the Symposium Halloween Party which the kids loved. Well thought out in terms of entertainment and food to keep the kids entertained and happy. Food is always great and service brilliant from the most helpful and friendly group of staff including the owners.

Loved the bottomless brunch. Ellie and Chloe were brilliant!! Had chicken and halloumi gyros omg it was so nice.

Disappointing. We spent around £40 on a round of drinks only to find out that virtually the whole establishment had been booked out for a private party and that there was nowhere to sit. The member of staff was rude, telling us to leave the table where we sat initially. The sign on the table said "reserved from 7 15," yet we arrived at 6 45. She said the signs were wrong- no apology. Wish we had known BEFORE they took our money (eg a sign on the door) that it was a private party because we would have gone elsewhere.

Great Atmosphere, Tasty Food, and an Entertaining Chef! I recently visited Symposium and had an amazing experience! The staff was incredibly attentive, friendly, and made sure we were comfortable throughout our meal. The food itself was delicious—everything from the appetizers to the dessert was spot-on in terms of flavor and presentation. The highlight of the night, though, was the chef! Not only was he talented at his craft, but he also had a great sense of humor, which added a fun and lively element to the evening. It’s clear that he takes pride in his cooking, and his personality really shone through, making our dining experience even more enjoyable. Have been drinking in the Symposium / Beerhouse / Symposium on and off for many years and the latest version is probably the best. On Saturday night it was quite busy with a lot of folks enjoying the bottomless brunch and had we known it was on later in the day then we'd have enjoyed this but had already made a booking elsewhere... anyhow busy as it was we got seated in the upper area by the bar for a few cold Pravha's , got to say lots of full plates going out and all empty going bsck which says it all. To finish off , great bar staff , nice atmosphere and only rate as 4 star as we didn't have food...... but will next time 👌

GOOD ASTHETIC. VERY POOR SERVICE. Went to symposium today as part of my younger siblings birthday celebration. Was looking forward to having a shared meal with family at the Symposium and at first glance the venue is aesthetically pleasing, HOWEVER unfortunately, the service was appalling. After finally finding somewhere to sit (every table on the lower floor had a reserved sign) My mum went up to the bar to order food & drink, I understand venues have to have high pricing to make a profit HOWEVER when the service doesn't match the pricing it is disappointing. We ordered 2 pizzas and 2 Burgers. 2 of those came somewhat swiftly (though I say that to be polite & fair) and then I recieved my burger, My younger sibling had ordered a burger but this item was incredibly spicy (very spicy with no pre-warning) & My dads pizza never turned up. Despite one of the waiting staff telling us "five minutes" This supposed "five minutes" seemed to go on forever. I would understand if it was busy however it was not. So there's really no excuse. Disappointing is wording it politely, Originally due to the pleasant aesthetic and intial feel of the place, We were intending on purchasing desert, again as part of my younger siblings birthday celebration. Plus we wished to support a local business, However the lack of professionalism with the service left us feeling annoyed & extremely dissatisfied with the service. Not to mention the toliets are not disability accessible whatsoever. Is there an accessible option away from the numerous sets of and spontaneous stairs?? FINALLY, If you wish to go somewhere to look at decor and pay for immensely pricey items (that may never turn up) then the Symposium is the place to go!!! HOWEVER if you're wishing to go somewhere where the service matches the pricing and aesthetic then I wouldn't recommend eating/drinking here.

Came here for bottomless brunch with a group of 10. Was so easy to book with us being a big group! Great food (that fills you up!) fast service for drinks and a reasonable price! Love the atmosphere and will definitely be returning again!

Amazing pub with a fantastic enclosed and sheltered bar area downstairs that has been recently renovated. Very reasonably priced with great pub grub! Customer service was outstanding, we will be back!

Had a great time with friends on Sunday for the charity the Princess trust, in which little Albie was having his long hair cut and donating to. We had Sunday lunch whilst there. The beef was lovely and tender. Roasties needed a bit more cooking and a sharp knife would have been useful. Overall the food needed to be a bit hotter but it was very busy so I can forgive it on this occasion. Had the bottomless brunch a few weeks ago and couldnt fault it. Great atmosphere, friendly staff. Will definitely return

We were struggling to find somewhere family friendly to take the children to watch the euro final, untill we messged Symposium who were so helpful and accommodating! The food was delicious, all the staff were welcoming and friendly, even though it was extremely busy nothing was too much trouble. The atmosphere was fantastic and we had a really great evening will definitely be back soon. Thank you xxx

When me and hubby are going out for a few drinks this is the one place to tend to go more often. Bar staff are friendly and service is fabulous. Booked a table for the secret garden for the Euro quarter finals, atmosphere was amazing and everyone singing and cheering on the team. We ordered the tacos wish are a must to try.

Booked for 4 people sat 29/7 for the brunch. Arrived on time to be told table they reserved was taken and because food had been served to this group already we would now have to either sit in the room at the back, outside or downstairs in the “secret garden” I view the secret garden but there wasn’t a soul sat there so declined the offer to be told we could sit and wait for the people to finish (no apology drink etc offered) Eventually 40 mins later than booked we sat at our table in the main area. The service wasn’t great, they were rushed off their feet & i was told by another person eating there they had had walk in’s come in and accepted them even though the bar was hectic and they were clearly short staffed Was also told the chef was off so god knows who was doing the cooking 🤷🏽‍♀️ The food wasn’t great! It was cold and very small portions & the drinks just “ok” The girl who served us was miserable with little customer service skills I felt the whole process was rushed & we wont be booking for the brunch again anytime soon Shane really as it’s local and the venue is lovely

Great might at the secret garden at the symposium. Felt like I was on holiday sat outside with the patio heaters and twinkly lights, table service, great food, music and atmosphere. Really friendly staff. We will definitely be coming back soon.

The secret garden is a lovely addition to the Symposium. The service, atmosphere and food were all spot on and we had a lovely evening with family and friends.

Brilliant cocktail menu, well worth the price. If you get the weather the terrace feels like you could be anywhere (abroad). 12 of us attended a birthday brunch everything was spot on. Music, food, drinks the whole experience was great. georgia our waitress was so lovely and smiley even though she was back & forth for us bottomless ladies :D the whole team Infact where spot on and super helpful. would reccomend to anyone looking for a brunch. Went today after friends and family telling me the roast dinner is one of the best. I can say it really is the best Sunday roast I have eaten. Cant wait to return for another roast and try the through the week menu.

I've been in here lots of times before but i attended the Polish Food Night they held on the 18th April. Food was amazing and different to usual pub food served up. Staff very attentive and pleasant. Great value for money overall. Will do this again soon!!

Me & 19 other girls went for my friend’s Birthday for the Bottomless Brunch. The drinks were non stop, good variety & upgrade option for £3 to have any cocktail on their menu. The staff greeted us as soon as we arrived. The food was amazing too, very good value for money all round, I will definitely be going back. Lovely atmosphere, fantastic customer service & provided everything a bottomless brunch should. Thank you x
