What a great little pub!! So Family friendly and so incredibly welcoming and accommodating! We went as a very large group and the staff couldn’t have been nicer! The food was great but by far the best thing about this pub is how welcoming of kids it is! There is a small playground in the garden which the kids loved and great to see baby change in the men’s toilet as well as the women’s! Would highly recommend for families ☺️ Thank you to the staff for such a lovely afternoon!

I am very disappointed to have to write this. We tried The Limping Fox on Saturday, it seemed like a nice pub and was child friendly. Unfortunately we had an accident with a child tripping over on the decking and resulting in a trip to the hospital for stitches. The accident was in no way the fault of the premises. It was one of those things where accidents happen. The food came out as the accident happened so of course we didn’t touch our food and were very disappointed from the lack of help from the owner. Whilst the front of house staff were really supportive, sympathetic and helpful which really went a long way, we are aware the staff relayed what had happened to the owner who sent back a message which equated to tough, we’ve done the food and you’ve paid for it, “it wasn’t our fault." We do understand the food had been prepared but when things like this happen, it is very upsetting. It would have been nice to receive some indication that the owner cared about the accident regarding a child on their property. As a business, in situations like this a caring attitude is worth a lot more than the money itself, the staff went above and beyond but if the owners showed the same support we would be coming back frequently. Due to this they have lost more than our, or our friends, future custom, they've lost our goodwill too.

We love it here. Lisa is amazing. Glad to see her be promoted to manager, well deserved as she provides an excellent service and buzzes around making sure everyone is looked after. The food is great. Beer selection a real pull factor as it’s varied and I particularly enjoy it when they stock the local Big Smoke assemble! The other staff are always friendly. The new climbing frame means you can entertain a little one if needed or get away from the madness by having a drink indoors. A really decent place on all fronts and that’s not an easy to thing to say when so many pubs suffer from attracting and keeping their staff. 5 Stars for The Limping Fox.

Staff out of their depth, shocking service, lashing out at customers because they weren’t in top of service and liking and contradicting each other. No apologies for snatching unfinished drinks. Poor all around. Me at pubs would appreciate trade on a Tuesday night.

You know when you’re traveling and you find a restaurant that’s so relaxing and welcoming you just wished it was local to where you lived? Introducing The Limping Fox. Located on a residential street, the environment was overwhelmingly friendly- the staff so helpful and kind, even the patrons (and their dogs!) had a quick hello and a few words of good cheer! The food excellent and the environment relaxed and open. Welcome to all- children and dogs too! Definitely worth a visit. Grateful to have visited.

Those who follow these pubs from a local perspective will remember this as being "The New Inn" until around 2017. Heard mixed reviews from various people on the previous incarnation, I'm not one to drag on a pub for being bad, there is always an audience for a manky Stella and a comfortable view of the footy, but it's hard to imagine it was as good as the pub is now - albeit a subjective opinion. Taken over in 2017 by Luke & Heloise after a successful stint as landlords in Bristol at The Victoria Park, this family-owned, independent pub floats under the radar landing somewhere between those train stations you wake up at if you miss your stop at Surbiton although still not quite near anything. Walkable though, and an enjoyable one at that. The quaint backstreets of Long Ditton, various parks and a Cricket Green, give way to this inviting pub, that I've been drawn back to a handful of times, and another one where I wondered why I hadn't been there sooner. Met immediately with the bar, there's a healthy mix of accessible craft and it's fairly priced too. High Wire which I hadn't seen in ages was clocking in under £6, and it's the little touches like the matching glassware for Lervig, Tiny Rebel and Magic Rock that make the difference sometimes. Cask from locals such as Park Brewery too - you are spoiled for choice. Inside it's spacious, comfortable, and outside it's enclosed, quiet - a place for the kids to play and even space for the dog to run about. The staff are lovely and helpful, spoke to Luke for a bit too - always nice to meet the head honcho in these places. We came back for food again, there's loads to go at. From picky bits to pizzas and what was voted the best Roast Dinner in South England (2017) too. I'd imagine if people weren't desperate to go on their holidays, this place would usually be buzzing over the weekend. Shame it took me so long to find this pub, but it's one I'll be coming back to regularly. Just so happens to be at the end of one of the dogs favourite parks. Winner.

This bar has a really nice selection of beers but unfortunately the current staff leave a lot to be desired. We arrived on a Friday evening and asked if the kitchen was still serving food. The girls behind the bar told us no as they don't have any kitchen staff. We did then ask if it would be ok if we ordered food from outside to be delivered to the pub and they said no. This was understandable, but we were then slightly disappointed when they ordered a pizza to be delivered to the pub and proceeded to eat it on the bar while laughing that we should have been better prepared and had dinner before coming to the pub. Not the most customer friendly attitude.

Avoid! Was aprehensive on arrival as for a Sunday lunchtime there were hardly any other diners, we were a table of 5 with a toddler and waited over 25mins after already seeing ourselves to menus due to slow and unresponsive bar staff, my partner then went to the bar to order drinks and food to be greeted by a relative of the bar staff who was unnecessarily rude and abusive and belittling for no apparent reason, so much so that we decided we could not stay. I will never be going back here, and would suggest if you are in the area to avoid unless you like slow and miserable service that you practically have to beg for!

I went to this pub due to the great reviews and children's area. This location is within residential road, so only off street parking. I assume gets busy and hard to find off street parking. The children's area is nice and convenient however the prices of the food is very expensive we spent over £70 between 3 adults, so found it very petty the owner refused to swap 1 brownie for a sticky toffee pudding! Both brownies were over heated and melted to make mouse rather than a brownie. I only complained about one so not sure what the problem was. Again the owner refused to talk to me. However after 3 attempts I was refunded my £8 in all 50 pence. I will not be going back to this pub.

Third visit and was very different to the previous.. Very busy so had a very long wait but my issue was the food this time. I ordered a lamb kofta with side roasted slice potato. The portion was good but the kofta kebab (more like a big meatball) was tasty but served on a bed of rocket with a pot of mayonnaise. The potatoes were sliced and roasted and served on a separate side dish. But no flavours... Maybe doing the potatoes with herbs eg rosemary? Or a tzatziki portion instead of mayo on a bed of red onions and feta, that would be more authentic? Service wasn't great, had to remind waiting staff about drinks order... not in a rush to return. Food quite overpriced and is it a pub or crèche?

Very good little pub. The food is really very good and it is always worth booking early for a Sunday lunch as this pub gets packed out. The only bad thing about this place is the craft beer but each to their own I guess. I agree with some of the comments about kids running about unsupervised (tends to be because parents are getting drunk and not looking after their children) but really you should speak to the staff when booking and ask to be sat the other side of the bar as that area is quieter as I am sure they will do everything they can.

Preamble: staff and pub are really nice but don't come if you don't have kids! Unfortunately this pub felt like a children's soft play centre with kids running around . Not really the fault of the pub at all which had a nice feel to it, rather the parents who have clearly claimed this local boozer as a free range children's crèche. This is FINE but we unfortunately we won't come back here and don't recommend it if you are looking to have a relaxing pint.

It's been a year or two since I ate at the Limping Fox, and (although the menu is more restrained and less extensive, post-Covid) it still serves great pub grub. The signature dish is still steak and chips at £19, although the haddock and chips runs it a close second (£14), served with a charred half lemon, mushy peas and tartare. Now I know it’s trendy to serve everything in its own container, but I still don’t see the point. Diners decant sides on to the main plate anyway… and it all goes down the same way. So isn’t it just a) creating more washing up, and b) cluttering up the plate? For all that, it’s a great pub-grub fish supper, swilled down with a pint from the pub’s real ale selection. The pub also does burgers by the dozen on busy days – especially when the garden fills up.It is so well-developed in the garden. A giant awning that you could hold a wedding in means that the pub space extends across a vast boarding patio.Friendly and prompt service complete the experience. It’s highly recommended for family groups. Maybe as we emerge from the coronavirus era the menu range will broaden to include some more adventurous dishes once again.

Went for Sunday lunch, 4 of us and the dog, seated in the cosy heated outdoor patio. No sooner had I sat down from ordering the food at the bar (which you only have to do if sat outside) it all appeared in front of us! Our mouths all fell open at the speed of this order, literally minutes even though it was really busy. The quality and portion size is out of this world and the best part is the price, so reasonable- huge plates of delicious home cooked food, friendly staff, lovely atmosphere and dog friendly- what more could you ask for 😍
