You can see from the photos what kind of pub this is - a proper one. We came for lunch and everything was delightful; from the host to the food, the condition of the ale and the fact that whomever it is that is hell bent on turning every pub in Surrey into some kind of sterile facsimile of a hotel bar has not had a go at this one. I don't live in Hersham but it's now on the list of places to revisit on every home visit alongside The Withies Inn, The Masons Arms, The Park Tavern, The Roebuck (Hampton) The Eagle Ale House and the Willoughby.

The Regent is a wonderful place, and I recently had the pleasure of visiting there. This bar, which is located on Church Street, is a favourite hangout for both locals and tourists because of its welcoming environment, delectable food, and wide range of drinks. As soon as I walked into The Regent, I was greeted by welcoming staff who immediately put me at ease. The pub's exposed brick walls, wooden beams and cosy seating spaces gave it a homely, classic British character. The atmosphere was casual and welcoming, making it the ideal place for a supper with friends or a night out.

Oh dear what a disappointment we found an empty bar last Monday but still sat and had lunch. The Lamb was overcooked with tepid vegetable piled on a cold plate. My bottled water was £3!! My husband's pie was not up to the usual standard either.. We have been coming here for years, mainly bringing my mother in law who lives in nearby Whiteley Village. The food is normally exceptional though not today. I understand that prices needed to increase but I'm afraid the Lamb at £13.95 is simply not worth it. We will not return

Fanastic Roast Dinner We come to the Bricklayers on a regular basis due to the roast dinners being 10/10. The plates are loaded with food and it tastes absolutely delicious, especially the pie! We arrived later than normal this time and there wasn't a seat available so we hung around until one became free, and the food was still lovely. Sadly on this occasion though I left annoyed due to one member of staff being extremely rude. When asking for more gravy (as the first was a dribble) it came across a massive issue for them and they didn't look happy at all, as well as snapping back at me when asking for a 'name'. I would say maybe they were having a bad day but on previous visits they doesn't appear to want to be there. A little customer service goes a long way, especially in a lovely pub like that. Hopefully next time I visit I wont experience this again as I don't want to have to go elsewhere as nothing lives up to these roast dinners. Usually the service is 5/5 but on this occasion it have to give 3 stars unfortunately.

We went here on a recommendation for a really great home cooked Sunday lunch. Service started at midday and the food was plentyful. My friend and I both had the roast beef with all the veg and the plate was overflowing. It all tasted great and the value for money was also amazing. The only thing I would say was that the beef was slightly overcooked for my liking but it may have been my fault for not asking for aa cut from the middle but there was a big queue behind me.

Quiet family run free house pub, having 2 bars and a garden seating area. Has the best carvery around on a Sunday lunch time, usually with a choice of 3 meats + a meat pie and a vegetarian choice. Week days there is a choice of several pub classics served in the evenings. There is also a midday menu which I haven’t tried. All the meals are individually prepared and cooked freshly. The portions are quite large and beautifully presented.

Visited this traditional old school pub for a Sunday roast which tasted great and fantastic value. So much better than many of the local bistro type pubs around these days. But, the service from one of the staff was pretty aggressive and in fact laughable. I felt slightly afraid to say no to the carrots and was prettified to ask for more gravy. I’m not sure she enjoys her job and perhaps should think about less customer facing role. I look forward to going back and hopefully this time I will try and gather enough confidence to say no to the carrots !!!!

My partner and I came out a little while ago for a little date to watch the rugby. I learnt when we arrived that their cocktail menu is very bare. (DON’T come, if you’re coming for cocktails - even the basics ones! also NO food being served even though the website says they do!) I made my disappointment clear to the very young looking bartender about not having any cocktails. He said he could make me an off menu ‘special’ cocktail he learnt while he was living in Africa. It was special type of customer service I had never experienced before! My partner had a very fine New Zealand Savvy B. All negatives aside, the pub is very affordable for it being in the centre of Weybridge, cozy decor and both were staff were excellent. They also have a pool table at the back!! Don’t see that too often nowadays. Recommend if you’re ever in the weybridge area and in need of some cheap booze!
