45 minutes wait for a breakfast that was uneatable,the plate had been left on the hot plate so long that the butter in the plastic container had turned to liquid eggs had turned to a rubber consistency bacon, sausage, mushrooms and toast all burnt,at least they gave me a full refund.

Really lovely place, with a real pub feel, served cheerfully by staff and the food was good, friendly lively locals to boot 🤣

Nice little pub / hotel. We stayed for 1 night while visiting the local area. Room was nice, a little on the warm side and no fan or air con and a very noisy street if the window was open. Not the end of the world though. We had dinner in the pub and breakfast the next day, both meals were good value for money and tasted great. Staff were friendly and polite.

Hands down the best burger I’ve ever had in my life!!! I can’t believe there’s hardly any reviews for this place, not sure if they have recently opened or had a refurb, but my god, what an absolute gem of a pub. I had the Paris Stilton, honestly unreal!!! Compliments to the chef! My partner has the fish and chips which was also delicious and my daughter the pizza which was really good!! If you are in the area give this place a go! Shout out to the waitress too (American lady, apologies I didnt catch your name) however she made us feel so welcome and a fantastic waitress for my family. Thank you :)

We stopped off in Shipston-on-Stour, on our way to Chipping Campden. I had looked up dog friendly pubs and this was just right! The staff were lovely and made a fuss of our dog. Brought him a treat and a bowl of water. The food was really nice. It was Taco Tuesday and I had a mix of 3 tacos, they were delicious. My husband had the scampi & chips, also yummy! Definitely worth a visit!

Just popped in for coffee, delicious. Welcoming atmosphere. Looked at menus and will come here to eat ( we live about 10 miles away)

Morgan was a sweetheart, more than helpful with my attempts to find a taxi that could get me back to banbury. Was really pleased to be able to get an oat, vanilla latte that just hit the spot specially for a lactose intolerant person like me. Also had a pie while waiting for the taxi and it was absolutely perfect, clearly homemade, with honey roasted vegetables that tasted amazing. All in all a great experience, if I had to point a flaw would be that the place could do with a revamp but not overly important for the quality of what I had.

It's a cute little place. We stayed one night, room was fine, clean, but very dusty and still had crumbs from previous guest, soft furnishings could do with scrub and clean. Rooms are noisy due to the fridge and outside noise. Staff are lovely! Sadly breakfast was below standard, firstly it was not served with sourdough bread, as advertised, bacon beans poor standard, pancakes were burnt , seemed to be thrown on a plate. Coffee, cappuccino ,served in a large tea mug. Also not charged at £10 as advertised on our booking.

A dog friendly environment with great staff. I have been in a few times for lunch and/or drinks and they are a very friendly group who look after their customers really well. Morgan especially is always happy to go the extra mile and make us feel welcome and provide great service. The food has always been great and served within reasonable times when I've eaten there. Would highly recommend anyone to stop in.

The front end; booking, talking with Poppy without any quibble, what follows they shared as I did real time. The long wait after ordering was brought to an end by us being told the chef had felt ill so stepped out then returned, an apology was offered, jokes were made about hangovers as it was New Years day. After about an hour 4 of the six covers arrived, the final two 2 pizza's, so not being cooked as any other dish followed 8 or minutes later. One being for a 5 yr who waited patiently. My Pleased to Meat Ya pizza was to have pulled chicken, pork, sausage, sliced pepperoni and chilli flakes on it. With the exception of the pepperoni the other meat were represented in such small amounts and looking so similar that when the 'how is everything with your meals?' visit came from staff I pointed out underwhelm with meat amount, the lack of ability to differentiate type meat on the modest sized pizza and that no chilli flakes were present, the very embarrassed staffer apologised and said the chef would be fedback too. We finished, there ensued a long wait for half the table to be cleared before a bigger table took the attentions of floor staff. After another short wait during which we had to ask for desert and were told 'The kitchen is now closed', the response to which being 'you've taken so long to serve and not cleared the table or checked for dessert as it two children you ought to be able to provide a scoop of ice cream and sourdough cookie'. This was provided and announced as uncharged due to poor service and the chef had walked out/left their employ, necessitating another step in. I'd go back. BUT I'd ask about staff availability and health. I think it is a great place but our experience was no 'management ' the emerging issue which could have been explained to keep us alongside by being offered an understanding of the problem without the extended waits. If the manager wants to talk about it my booking was for 6 between 12:30 and 14:15 01/01/2024, it'll be on you system with my contact detials.

The one star is for the servers. I’m struggling to describe what was served to me because it was so badly cooked, cold, totally indiscernible and totally tasteless. That this stuff was passed for service is crazy. Lazy Pug cooks…I have always supported local services but I honestly will never return as the experience was so bad. Such a pity, get it together guys and see what you are dishing up.

Not very busy and it lacked a bit of atmosphere but a great selection of drinks just suffering from lack of atmosphere.

“Boutique rooms” is how it’s described on their web page…… what is boutique about grubby, bare, noisy rooms? Walked in to see ear plugs on the cups and soon realised why……. The huge gap under the door and no doors between the bar are and our room meant our bed May as well have been in the middle of the pub. Then the loud music started again before 7.30 so no lie in. Plus no double glazing and overlooking the main road meant we might as well try to sleep on the M6. The person in the room above obvious got no sleep either as was pacing most of the night and every step sounded like they were coming through the ceiling. The food in the evening was ok but breakfast was awful. My eggs benny was fishy tasting (turned out to be salmon on it) and hubby’s sausage on his bun was burned. Cups were returned as dirty.

Great pub and hotel, stopped I night after a visit to Cotswold Distillery, really friendly and helpful staff helped us with our luggage, cosy room with everything you need, lovely gluten free pizza and breakfast too,would definitely return.thanks to all the staff.

Stayed here whilst on a course at the Fire Service college. My room was called Dream on the 1st floor and it was fine for my needs. The bathroom looked like it had been recently refurbished and it was to a high standard. My hearing isn’t great ( I’ve seen some previous comments re noise) so I had no issues with noise but it’s a pub so if you’re after an early night you’ve got to expect some noise. My room was very warm but I’d brought my own fan so was ok but there wasn’t one in the room. Definitely worth asking if one is provided before you book. I ate here every night and what I had was great, plenty of it and at a fair price. The staff were great. The Cotswolds is expensive but I thought the Lazy Pug was fairly priced for the area.
