Honestly hard to understand the high ratings for this place. Maybe the rooms are good, I don't know. What I do know is that I've never felt more ripped off for food. Three mozarella bites for 8 quid? A 'large' portion of chèesy chips (think small or regular in most pubs) for the same price. We were also made to feel lucky they could fit us in. Avoid, go to The Smithy or the pub in Nunney where at least you'll be treated with some respect.

We only went for a meal & it was lovely. A really great atmosphere, staff were lovely & the food was delicious. Menu was varied & fresh. Would definitely recommend this.

Good homemade food made from scratch on the premises with a selection of changeable specials and a good choice in the cellar. Exactly what I want from a good pub

Lovely little pub. Lovely atmosphere and gorgeous inside. Owner is very welcoming and talkative. Only came in for a drink but look forward to coming here again for some food.

Fantastic gluten free food and great for kids

Called in for breakfast 😋 it was great. The staff were great, and nothing was too much trouble. If you are passing and fill like breakfast, call in. It's well worth it 👌

Great pub with quick friendly service. Nice bar areas with a good selection of drinks and outdoor garden area. Food is first class and piping hot? Couldn’t fault anything.

Rooms are spacious. Have good technological standard/ USB Ports. Modern fascilities. Matrasse was ok. Good sorted Bar and restaurant. The breakfast was very good. We will come here once again.

Two had the Duck, one had Hunters Chicken, I had fish & chips. Latter two were with freezer chips & fish was hard in the middle perhaps also out of the freezer? Although duck & hunters chicken was reportedly very nice, disappointed in the rest.

We visited quite some time ago on a quiet lunchtime, but I forgot to review. It was absolutely delicious, proper home cooked pub food. Very good portion sizes, friendly staff, we will definitely return soon!

Stopped here on our way home, the food was delicious we both chose from the specials, chicken stroganoff & black and blue burger. Staff were friendly and welcoming, will definitely be returning.

Absolutely lovely local welcoming place to be, lovely atmosphere and wonderful food.

This is a vilage pub with a good local trade and visitors from further afield. It serves well kept cask ales with a choice of three or four. There is a good selection of ciders and lagers, bar snacks and decent well priced food all served over lengthy hours.

You know what, I'm actually really impressed by The Bell Inn 🔔 The staff behind the bar and who brought our food out were really professional as well as friendly. My meal was perfect as well. I liked that it came with a mix of veg, it didn't feel too heavy. Others had lasagne and said it was delicious. A few people made the comment that some choices on the menu were also shown on the specials board, it would be better for The Bell Inn to only show their weekly dishes on the specials board instead. I'd be very happy to return.

Food always excellent and never disappoints. Any dietary restrictions are dealt with, you only have to ask.

Recent sunday roast. Nice pub. Ok food though did have to wait a bit for table service for carvery.

Food was amazing, but the table layout wasn't great for conversation at our staff Xmas party .

First visit for Sunday roast today. Delicious! The roast beef and pork very tender, the crackling was crisp without breaking your teeth and roast potatoes perfect. Great it was a carvery and you serve yourself a variety of veg and plenty of gravy. Have been doing the rounds looking for best Sunday Roast and this wins hands down! Staff all very friendly and very clean interior traditional and attractive. WE'LL BE BACK!

Went to The Bell Inn for a birthday. It had been booked by a friends family. Great pub with ample choice of very good beer and cider. It also has a party venue out back which is where the party was held. A great evening was had by all and that all starts with the venue.

Lovely pub, busy with the rugby. We'd reserved a table as we had our dog with us. The specials and main menu gave a good selection. Food freshly cooked and homemade. Very delicious. Definitely recommend a visit.

Only a cook on duty when at a birthday get-together, no waitresses, you had go to the kitchen door and she pass it to you. All pre ordered a few days before. Food was one the best I have had.

Can recommend the fish and chips and also the brie and bacon baguette. Parking avaliable at the front of the pub. Dog friendly. Staff checked if all was ok with our meal, which I liked them doing. Toilets clean. Drinks and food reasonably priced. Staff friendly.

Lots on menu to choose from. Light bites, vegetarian, specials board etc. Generous portions. I ordered a burger that came with two sides. It was bloody delicious 😋 Good range of drinks and mixers. Had a gin I hadn't tried before and went back for more (Bombay Sapphire Sunset). Will definitely be visit again. If you're passing and want better than standard pub grub i.e local produce, make sure you pop in.

Great place for a drink or a meal

Great little find. When we were arrived we were greeted by a lovely barmaid, very happy and polite. Decided to eat ,food was fantastic and great choice of gluten free food. All cooked fresh and even met the chef who knew all about gluten free. Good value for money too.

1st visit to pub where we were fitted in for lunch at short notice. Sunday carvery was very good quality, all very hot, meat succulent, and a really good plateful. Excellent value too at £13.95. Four real Ales where I found the Butcombe in tip top condition. Another visit will be on the cards soon.

The Bell Inn deserves it's largely 5 star rating - but I had one really unpleasant experience there that I feel obliged to share. Having been a fairly regular patron of the Bell Inn (fantastic service, incredibly clean, warm & friendly atmosphere and delicious food) I stopped going after being treated very rudely on one occasion. I had just dropped off my two small children with a childminder, and then rushed in because i had a meeting starting in one minute and I didn't have time to make it home. I planned on having a coffee, listening in to the short meeting, then heading home to work remotely for the day. Upon sitting down and beginning the call (barely audible and I wasn't speaking) someone came over to me and told me it wasn't "free WIFI." Shocked - noone had even taken my order yet I had barely sat down - I said I was happy to use a hotspot and they replied "how can we be sure". I have NEVER experienced that before. I then ordered a capuccino to show that I was going to be a paying patron. As soon as it arrived another person came over and basically told me off for presuming they were some kind of coworking space. Bear in mind the pub was virtually empty, it was 10 am on a Tuesday, and I was planning on having a coffee, possibly some breakfast and then going home. I am sad to leave this review because I really liked the Bell Inn, but I won't be going there again after the way I was treated. I hope they learn to give their paying clientele the benefit of the doubt and treat working mums with more respect in future.

Had an evening meal here and a breakfast. Both meals were lovely and good value for money. Staff very friendly. Would recommend the steak and ale pie and the lasagne m. Breakfast was massive we had the big bell and the medium bell, couldn’t eat another thing until teatime! Definitely recommend this restaurant 👍

Great country pub. Great to see the locals keeping it alive during covid. Delicious food and lovely staff. Update: been again and it still remains a lovely place to go. Will continue visiting every time i am in the area.

A great local pub - seems like there is something for everyone. A friendly bar area and a quieter restaurant area. Great food available- enjoyed the Bell burger in particular, and a good range of drinks.

Great, welcoming establishment with a range of real ales and a good selection of food. Visited several times - and I don't go back to places that are not fully satisfying!

We ate at The Bell several times during our period working in the area during Glastonbury Festival. Having not been for 3 years, we were glad to see that the pub had hardly changed and the combination of excellent food and drink coupled with a warm welcome was still present. The food we had on all occasions was very tasty and the real ale was excellently kept. The staff and locals were also very friendly and we all had a great time here over the week we were in the area. We will most definitely return to this excellent and most picturesquely located pub.

I stayed at the Bell for a 3 night stay really relaxed atmosphere but professional and happy staff the team that work there all seem to enjoy there job . The food was amazing a must have is the vegetable lasagna best I've ever had. The lunch menu was also amazing the bacon and brie sandwich I had was wonderful. The Bell is dog friendly and the room we stayed in was so clean no evidence that a pet had stayed before if I could give 10 stars I would really enjoyed my stay.

Friendly service, we had the carvery which had generous portions of beef, lamb,& pork. There was also chicken available with lovely vegetables.

Great food well cooked. And my friend who is a very fussy and critical veggie, thought his veggieburger amazing and left his compliments for the chef. Trust me no mean compliment.

Met up with a work colleague for dinner. This was the second time that we have met up for dinner at the Bell over the last 6 months and on both occasions we were very impressed with the menu choices and the overall quality of the food and service. I would highly recommend the Bell to anyone that is looking for very top notch pub food.
