Tucked away from the market bustle was this little gem. My sister and I, disappointed by the selection of venues for breakfast, happened upon the Larder, and we were in for a friendly treat. My sister, living in Newcastle, had never been to Lymington, and the man who greeted us was jovial and accommodating. He made us both feel like we were family coming to share a meal at his home. In these days of overpriced and underwhelming, the food cost was appropriate, and the taste was fantastic. Poached eggs were done to perfection and they beautifully crowned the smashed avocado, which was seasoned to perfection. The meal is simple one, but many a restaurant can somehow manage to bore the tastebuds with their renditions. The Larder is not one of the many. Each bite was flavoursome and the drizzle of extra virgin olive oil (a very good quality one at that) really brought sophistication to the staple brunch food. What was best, though, was the gent who made us feel like his kin, joking with us, recommending the hot chocolate, which was superb, and being an all around wonderful host at this little stop with BIG personality. Thank you for a lovely Saturday market experience. I will be returning with friends and loved ones...got to support the independent businesses that make it THEIR business to be real and create a warm experience for their customers.

Our second visit for breakfast and we were as impressed (and satisfied) as our first visit!! Great location in a delightful and charming alley off the high street. Really nice select choices for breakfast (limited but we prefer quality over quantity ) which were fresh and delicious. We met the owner who is lovely and obviously loving what he is doing - his enthusiasm was refreshing! The team were also lovely and the atmosphere is super chilled (but efficient) The deli shopping is fabulous and authentic (definitely going shopping for gifts for our foodie friends..) The best coffee in lymington hands down. We will be joining in on a Tapas evening for sure!! Loved it!

The tapas was awesome. We really appreciated the host Karl who was very enthusiastic about the food and super attentive. We only wanted some tapas dishes with a drink as a starter before we had somewhere else booked for a main meal. This was perfect with cold craft beer. The tapas menu is very extensive and we were recommended some tapas dishes that perhaps we wouldn't have chosen by ourselves. These were incredible and the Karlos meat stew was the stand out. Nice atmosphere and interesting deli inside where you can buy some of the Spanish ingredients. Btw Tapas is only on certain days and in the evening I believe. The Larder do a lot more than tapas. See menu. Highly recommended

Discovered this café tucked away in Lymington. Really friendly staff and brilliant service. Food and coffee tasted great. Couldn’t recommend more highly. My partner wanted half a shot for her coffee. Without asking, they’ve put the full shot in a separate little jug so she could put in exactly what she wanted. Really thoughtful.

Wow, amazing food and service. Alex and Karl went above and beyond to provide a fantastic experience. Dropped by for a late lunch, and found this place up a little alley. It's full of local goodness, tartines (open sandwiches), salads, and all sorts of homemade cakes and scones. Great place to stop by for breakfast, lunch, or a coffee. Their "scotch eggs" come highly recommended by the locals, but I didn't eat one.

The Larder in Lymington is simply a great place to enjoy a coffee with family and/or friends. It has a relaxed atmosphere with great staff and lovely coffee. Food always looks so nice although I haven’t tried any as yet but their entrepreneurial music evenings throughout the summer are brilliant. Fairy lights, great drinks, service and live music on selected Friday evenings. If you sign up they send you an email invite and it’s up to you if you want to turn up. Tucked away off of the High Street it is a little gem and well worth a visit.

A quaint little place ideal for coffe and snacks. The staff seem very pleasant although don’t always here or listen to what exactly is being ordered. Well worth a visit.

We popped in as we ventured the high street whilst waiting for our ferry to the IoW. We only had a coffee, pot of tea and water for the kids, but everything was 100%. If we’re ever back in this neck of the woods, we’d definitely visit again.

I came here for the first time with a group of ladies. The counter service was slow but at least a waitress brought the food to the table. I had a coffee and chocolate brownie, which wasn't the freshest unfortunately. I will go back in the morning when the cakes are hopefully fresher.

Visited the Sail inn with my uncle who lives in Lymington. Previous experience at the pub had been very good however this visit has left a very poor taste in the mouth. While the fish and chips were adequate the use of some sort of paper to "soak up the oil" from the food was less than appetizing for my uncle who is elderly. While the stated serving hours were 12 to 3pm when I requested dessert and coffees we were told the kitchen was closed as the chef "had to be somewhere" Given the choice of quality establishments in Lymington we obviously regretted choosing The Sail Inn and won't be doing so in the future - the fact there was no warning that the kitchen was closing early is annoying however the actual decision to shut early on a Friday lunchtime in a competive marketplace is beyond me.
