A bit disappointed considering the high rating. Our bacon, brie, cranberry panini with salad and crips portion was very small, with the bacon not cooked enough and panini not toasted enough. I can’t quite put my finger on why the atmosphere was slightly off-putting, maybe because one of the waiters was especially loud, making you feel a bit rushed. I personally wouldn’t come back.

Avoid rush hour ( we went there at 2pm) seemingly crowded. Honestly I think it was a bit overrated. Food was OK. The avocado on toast was no match with Gail’s. Ham & Cheese toasties and chicken nuggets were mediocre. However the portions were of good sizes. One male waiter was particularly loud though I am sure he was just being passionate about his job but his loudness was really borderline uncomfortable especially for young kids. We just want a comfortable family dining experience but this “tea house” was really loud and food was average despite the generous sizes of portion.

Forgot the chutney was looking forward to, and cutlery. Pity, because chose sarny for the chutney and wondered why cheese falling out, very dry, lot of work to eat, so forgot about chutney. Was tasty tho, aart from chewy crisps but didnt really buy for crisps so they didnt bother me. Just disappointed because afterwards we realised theyd forgotten the special chutney. It wasnt near closing so only reason i can think is part time weekend staff? Because had problem before in cafes at weekends when service is totally different during week tho here they were still very friendly. Not had part of food or cutlery forgotten before but i visited during the week not weekends then. Dunt matter, lotsa cafes in Lyndhurst

Thought I would try this tea house out today honestly I'm really disappointed felt really uncomfortable to tell them that I was disappointed with my food I ordered a vegan burger & chips were really burnt and honestly as I'm a vegan I could taste meat wasn't sure if she actually put my my vegan burger with the oil just tasted funny to me once I asked from my bill there was nothing said please come again thank you very much none of that so I was hoping to get a refund or they can reimburse me in some way because I felt really awkward and didn't want to ruin other people's experience and it's I won't be going back not worth the money they wasn't interested just wanted or money that's how it made me feel didn't feel welcomed at all 😔 I didn't want to put of over customers off so said something I just thought I would be upfront it felt more like they cared about the money just two guys come in come once your in just treat you like hurry up we want your money I felt pressured to give him a tip as well which I declined after we paid there was no bye take care see you soon or anything like that I felt really awkward and very uncomfortable once I left the place I sign a relief as I left please don't make this mistake by going in their thinking that they are very cheerful customer service friendly once they've got your money that's it it used to be a nice place apparently that's why I went there didn't realise it was taken over by new owners my table wasn't wiped down I'm really sorry this comes as I am being rude but honestly customers are always right and if you want to better improve your service is to think of customers first we don't want to feel uncomfortable we should feel relaxed I was very stressed being stirred at whilst I was eating I won't go back here please don't make same mistake as I did honestly not worth the money are to give them business read the reviews before you go don't be fooled please stay clear of this cafe

We walked in (2 couples) and had ordered: carrot cake, 3 scones; and: mocha, cappuccino, americano (x2). Coffee was average (not bad taste, not great either). Problem was with mocha that had no taste of coffee, just the taste of hot chocolate. My scone was brought on time, the rest was forgotten. We kindly reminded the waitresses, and they still managed to make the situation worse by saying “yes, just a moment” but then later come to ask what else is missing from the order. I’m not a scone fan, but my friends told me that they were also average (they said you can find better ones at Tesco). To summarise, coffee and pastries - average at best, service - horrible. It’s not the girls’ fault, as they were all very young. But to not have the ability to fulfil an order (and not apologising for the repetitive mistake) was upsetting.

disrespectful and rude owner. generous waiters I always go to that town to visit and it is the first and last time I go to that cafeteria. There are not many waiters for decent service. The owner didn't even apologize for the 40 minute delay for a simple breakfast, but he was stressed, he became offended and had a lot of fury in his eyes. You can sit inside or out though it can be very busy as it is a popular place, so you might have to wait to be seated. Visited the Sail inn with my uncle who lives in Lymington. Previous experience at the pub had been very good however this visit has left a very poor taste in the mouth. While the fish and chips were adequate the use of some sort of paper to "soak up the oil" from the food was less than appetizing for my uncle who is elderly. While the stated serving hours were 12 to 3pm when I requested dessert and coffees we were told the kitchen was closed as the chef "had to be somewhere" Given the choice of quality establishments in Lymington we obviously regretted choosing The Sail Inn and won't be doing so in the future - the fact there was no warning that the kitchen was closing early is annoying however the actual decision to shut early on a Friday lunchtime in a competive marketplace is beyond me.

Each year a small group of us meet for a Christmas lunch. This year I saw leaflets advertising a Christmas meal at The Potting shed so we decided to book. From the minute we arrived we felt like royalty. The lovely lady who I think is called Andrea, greeted us with a big smile. The staff were very attentive, getting us drinks and delivering our pre ordered meal in a timely and efficient manner. We were not rushed at all . It was lively to have crackers on the table each containing a little tree decoration to bring home with us. We will definitely be returning very soon.
