We had a wonderful meal here. I took us a while to find the restaurant because it’s in the bar the brick but after a confusing start we were show to our seat by a friendly member of staff. Wine was good food fantastic. I will dream of those mutton rolls forever. If you’ve never tried Sri Lankan food this is a really good place to start. The staff were attentive even bring money back that we excellently over paid. It makes me want to go back to Brighton just to eat here again.

What a fabulous birthday dinner. Delicious food and lovely service, plus complimentary cheesecake for dessert. Not tried Sri Lanka food before but we will return soon. Do yourself a favour and visit.

Absolutely loved our meal at The Lankan, within the Brick. Tasty, tasty food at really reasonable prices. One of Brighton's best kept secrets! Now you know.

Great vade, cheese kottu, jackfruit kottu and egg hopper. Had them delivered All very tasty, felt healthy great portions and impressed at eco packaging. Having lived in Sri Lanka, the hopper and vade in particular transported us right back. Loved the twist of the kottu being with string hoppers. Thanks for a great meal!

Even aside from it being one of the only places in Brighton and Hove to eat traditional Sri Lankan dishes, it’s truly my favourite restaurant - can’t get enough. I’d recommend the cheese Kothu with cauliflower side and a Kiri Hodi sauce. Don’t walk, run If you see coconut cheesecake is in stock… it is perfection

The service is quick, staff are lovely but the food is meh. It’s good, it’s not amazing, it’s just average. We got the dhal vade but it was really dry and way too hard. I think overcooked. Maybe I should’ve given the curry a go. For our mains, we got the Jackfruit & Veggie Kottu and my friend got the Seafood Kottu. I’d give the jackfruit and veggie kottu a miss but the seafood one is nicer.

Super tasty Sri Lankan street food!! The kottus were fresh and flavourful, we also had calamaris and loaded sweet potato fries and there were both amazing! I've been to Sri Lanka 4 times and this lovely gem did not disappoint :) Thank you the Lankan!

Our favourite local restaurant. Customer since before lockdown. Try to visit as often as we can, and always take our visitors when they come to visit.

Large selection of dumplings, buns and tea. Great place to get a quick and cheap lunch. I wish it was closer so I could go all the time !

I was looking for a bubble tea and found this place in Brighton, the lady in the shop recommended a traditional milk tea with mango jelly, I thought it sounded a bit weird but tried it. It was absolutely delicious. I also got a tropical fruit tea which was refreshing and yummy. Highly recommend!
