Came in here with two Sons for cheesy chips. Landlady was great with my kids, and food was good. Cider very nice. Ideal to have a local pub that's so welcoming

Shockingly bad! £220 for a buffet that probably had £30 worth of food on the table. The food was totally bland and the very cheapest ingredients were obviously used. No sweet or dessert option. The pub is very run down and dirty. Toilets were abysmal, filthy and stinking. I dread to think what the kitchen is like as everything is so grubby here. Wouldn't recommend this place.

As a visiting Welshman,was upon entry greeted with a smile and an enthusiastic Lady behind the bar,I asked for the possibility of a Carvery. Which was available.apart from 1 piece of beef,which was a bit chewey all was fine,made to feel welcome,1st time here. But to quote a famous Governor of I think,California... Il be back. DDA iawn

Staff were friendly enough. Although good portions, the food was mediocre. Usually I would expect a Friday evening to be packed but the place was dead as a dodo.

Last came here four years ago with my dad it was his favourite place to come for a carvery, but he's sadly passed away now, so we decided to come here today to bring back memories of happy times, even the landlady recognised us, we had a lovely carvery all the staff make you feel welcome see you again soon

Here for a private function but a big thank you to all the staff for a warm friendly welcome service exceptional

Just had a Sunday carvery here. Food lovely and plentiful even though we arrived after 2PM. Great value would definitely recommend .Staff all very friendly, overall a very pleasant experience 😃

There sparse website says they do food, no menu though, in fact very little on there. Shame to have to rate the pub down but it's very tatty these days, it could be so good if it were turned into somewhere like the country pubs that serve decent grub, there is nothing like that at all in the area any more, surely it would make a killing. I got to go all the way to Whitchurch for some grub now the winford has gone all poncy

Attended a private function, very nice and welcoming.

I was enquiring wether they do food on Mondays for a group booking and they said I worked in there but never have was not happy with answer I got back

Unfortunately toilets not very nice and stopped selling food. Very quiet pub now.

I was looking for a Sunday dinner take out and friend recommend the kings head. Wow it was lovely i arrived to collect from the carvery, happy staff and great price I would strongly recommend. I think nearby pubs should take note. We will be back.

Visited yesterday with family for my husband's birthday - we ordered for roasts and one Caribbean platter. The food came out so quickly and was honestly delicious - the chicken was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Also tried my husband's meal and the curried goat was fantastic. New to the area and will definitely be going back,

I was crossing by and I was hungry. They told me that I have to wait until 17:00 when they will be able to start the kitchen.

Went there after a funeral for a drink but was closed .but the lanlady opened up for us early such a nice welcome great looking place to very happy and the pints of fosters went down a treat .changed a bit since i went in when i was 20 thoe but still a great place thank you

The landlord Mark and the landlady Sarah are very family orientated people with young children of there own, the pub has a bar and lounge eating area which is very clean tidy and popular with local people, they do a wide range of foods and a lovely Sunday roast, a big car park and easy access for the disabled,and people with learning disabilities. I like it 👍it's really friendly and so are the staff

Food menu seemed to be from the 90s and had the burger of the menu, which was worse burger i eaten i wasnt able to get refund because the lady behind the bar said I was lieing, so I said to the chef when he came out the same thing and had them both say im lieing, so I walked out and never come back again, as I realised when looking at reviews the owner is the chef, maybe next time control ur pub and employe a chef 😀

They have replaced the Sunday carvery with a plated Sunday roast. Fantastic food, large portions. Staff - super friendly and attentive.

Nice place but the food is poor when this was pointed out to the chief he didn't care I would have asked for the manager but he is the chief ok for a drink apart from that avoid

Souless space, poor beer choice and gruby dirty toilets. This could be so much better with the right management. So much potential with the closure of near by pubs and restaurants. Gastro pub?........Really, having read some of the previous reviews on the food would suggest you have never visited a " Gastro Pub" I will visit again and post supporting pictures to back up my previous comments.

So after a walk in the sun we decided to get a coffee, ordered 2 latte's. What we got was 2 warm cups of milk with the slightest hint of coffee. The service was quick and cups were clean, but the coffee seemed non existant. The beer and food may well be good, I shalln't bother risking it.

Spacious pub, with a large carpark. It has a pool table and a Juke box with a large choice of music. Good variety of drinks, but if you are a real ale fan, you could be disappointed

We some weeks ago called in the kings head for the sunday carvery, and now we go every sunday for dinner. Food is great and the staff are very helpful, we would recommend this pub to anyone , a very warm and friendly atmosphere. Always have time for their customers no matter what.

Tasty, spicy food and polite friendly service. My jerk chicken was overly indulgent, they really overdid it on the sauce and cream and it just felt really unhealthy. I’ve had better Caribbean food at other establishments in Bristol. Very basic decor fine for friends but not for a celebration.

We had an early morning funeral to go to and the family wanted somewhere to go to have coffee and cake afterwards & bless them, Mark opened up 2 hours early to accommodate us - amazing. On such a difficult day he was amazing - it made such a difference to the family - thank you very much.

Had my husband's 50th birthday party here. Mark and Sarah were fantastic. The food was delicious and nothing was too much trouble for them. Highly recommend.

Quick stop after work back to the city centre

My daughter and I visited here on Friday evening while visiting my son at university. We had a very nice meal and drinks which were reasonably priced. The manager was helpful and made us feel very welcome.

Teníamos la habitación trasera para una función familiar privada. Nos dieron permiso para decorar la habitación. Nos gritaron como niños por mover las mesas por el propietario. Luego envió a su esposa a dar una vuelta, ¡luego ella envió a su hija para que nos resolviera! ¡Prometo nunca volver a pisar ese pub! ¡Nunca les daré a esas personas mi dinero para que sean tratadas como huéspedes que no pagan! ¡El propietario y la señora de la tierra son groseros y poco profesionales!

This has been my parents local for years now. The staff are always friendly and welcoming whether you are a local or just stopping for quick bite and a pint. I’ve had a carvery here a few times which are always good but today I had a ribeye steak cooked by the landlady herself and it was delicious!! Cooked just how I like and had asked for which can be uncommon even for some upmarket restaurants. Lovely place to go.

I have been here twice for a Sunday lunch buffet. The staff are really polite & friendly. The adult carvery portion consists of slices from 4 meat types & as much veg &'potatoes as you can manage. Hot gravy & all condiments. Really great value for £7.95! Children's portion cheaper & a slightly smaller plate.

We arranged a buffet for 20 people following a funeral. There are two function rooms - we used the sports bar at the front. Everything was ready when we are arrived, and the staff were friendly. The food and drink were fine, with both caffeinated and decaffeinated coffee and tea available. The only criticism is that the toilets are a bit basic, and the only comment is that you might struggle for parking spaces with a bigger party.

Fish & chips no taste with fish & to many bones

stopped here for sunday lunch ollie behind the bar was a credit to the place helpfull friendly and knowlegable as was clair the waitress who ask if all was good and did we need anything else not forgetting the cheif dont miss this place if your passing .we wil go back

Paid just short of £8 For all day breakfast and it was vile most of it burnt on the outside and raw on the inside and transparent eggs. Definitely would not go back!

Very noisey family with kids banging on Windows inside shouting at each other parents just as bad just what you want after a days work .will be giving it a miss for a few weeks shame realy because food was ok
