We visit The Cottage pub on Bristols Harbourside quite often as we are relatively local and everytime the food and service is very good. I always book on the Butcombe app because they are often busy and if it’s a Wednesday and you’re a loyalty member, it’s 25% off of food! All in all a good pub to visit!

Lovely pub with great views, food and staff!

Only stopped for a few pints of cider but really enjoyed. Sitting outside in the sun was great. Lovely pub inside, friendly staff, quick service and clean toilets. Food looked great but we didn't eat today.

Excellent service, great food relaxed atmosphere. Even though we were there late evening we didn’t feel rushed. Great fish cakes.

Another carvery.. another assivedisappointment. I you have the audacity to serve such bad food for such over inflated prices is beyond me.. I went for the £17 pork option - which includes 3 slices of incredibly dry pork, almost no cracking, the oldest and most stale tatties and Yorkshires I have ever tasted and a selection of incredibly over boiled veg, there is no way anyone coming here would say ...'that was worth £30-40' a head unless they have never cooked a decent meal in their lives ... do yourself a favour and eat at home ...couldn't fault the service and I was under charged for my wine... but come on guys ... what's going on ????

Family outing on Easter Saturday and it was sunny so the pub was busy! The staff did a great job and were excellent and remainder friendly despite the rush.

Iv been to the cottage a few times and always been very impressed, but sadly not this time ! The price was about what it is in other places but the food was not good ! We waited around a hour, for burger and fries !! ) then when it arrived it was warm not hot ! The presentation was poor, for the cost it was very small portions, and they mucked the order up so my daughter didn’t get a meal ! They said it was coming another 30 mins went and We couldn’t wait any longer as we were off to watch a rugby match ! So she went hungry! The lady did take her meal off the bill and apologised But then she did go on to say it’s what you can expect on a busy bank holiday! (Umm no I don’t think so !!! ) will not be back sadly 😔

A lovely pub in an iconic location on Bristol’s harbourside. Very friendly, efficient and organised staff - they were very impressive. Tasty food, using an offer from Butcombe’s Members’ scheme; the whole experience was excellent. Would wholeheartedly recommend The Cottage Inn!

Nice beer and food but the only Sunday roast available was beef and there was no Yorkshire pudding, hence only 3 stars for food.

It was a quiet day and I had been for a walk . I just popped in for a drink and rested the kegs for a bit. And thought as the kitchen was open . I would have some food. Yeah everything was good nothing special. Felt it was over priced for what it was though.

Fab staff great food location on the wharf.

I had asked for a quiet table as my Border Collie would be with us. We received a warm welcome and were shown to a corner booth where Monty was given a blanket and a bowl of water. The service and food were both excellent, the steak and ale pie the best I have eaten in a pub. Really enjoyed our visit and look forward to returning next time we are in Bristol.

Disappointing. Went for the Mothers Day Lunch. There was an 'all inclusive' price for the set meal, which displayed 3 drink options at the top (without prices). We ordered the drinks and found out when we got the bill that they were extra, despite getting a Kir Royale made with Chambord (was later told they didn't have cassis). The lamb was so overdone it had to be sent back to be replaced. We had a very friendly waiter, who told us we would get 10% off for the trouble, but another waiter at the end of the meal said we'd only be given £5 off and our first waiter had no authority to offer his previous discount. Friendly staff, pretty view, mediocre food and drink - for 3 people came to £150 which was far more than what it was worth. Will not be returning.

Food was good --- we had the pre-selected festive menu. My shoulder beef was tender but too much gravy for my taste. Other mains we pronounced very good. Bit of confusion on our table of 6 because some had forgotten what they ordered. I had thought there was to be a named place card with our choices but this was not available. We had a good time and enjoyed everything.

Really lovely atmosphere. Arrived early and had a drink at the bar. Taken to our table which was in a lovely spot for the 5 of us. Waitress was lovely and when we asked if meals were gluten free she always checked with the kitchen which was good. Food was amazing. The puddings are delicious. Great service. Would definitely recommend.

We really enjoyed our roast dinner and especially when we had one of the 100% vouchers. We do enjoy coming to the cottage. Especially in the summer as it’s in an ideal spot.

We decided to book a late Sunday lunch during our stay at the caravan site next door. From the moment we arrived we received a warm and friendly welcome from all of the staff. We decided to opt for the three courses for the price of two as it was after 3pm and we weren’t disappointed. Each course was delicious and plentiful. In fact it was the best Sunday lunch we have had for ages and very reasonably priced. Service continued to be excellent throughout the evening. Thank you for a great experience. We will be back.

Great pub in the harbour, about 10 minutes walk from the city centre. Good place to watch a sunset. Great Butcombe ales and comfy tables. Food was nice albeit a little pricey and portions quite small. Highly recommended.

Booked the Cottage Inn after being a Butcombe Loyalty Member for many years & never visited it before. It was my Birthday approaching & my son's girlfriend was visiting from Colombia, so wanted a venue for a joint celebration. I am so glad we chose the Cottage Inn. The experience from start to finish was fantastic. The food, the setting, the ambiance, the helpfulness of the staff, everything was just right to complete a wonderful evening. See you again very soon hopefully.

After visiting Bristol city ended up at The Cottage Pub at Batic Warf , had to wait a little while for a table as it was busy. Well worth the wait friendly atmosphere, food was of a high standard and very well presented, staff although busy were very attentive. We passed a huge number of places to eat that day and none were busy. We would highly recommend The Cottage for a fulfilling experience. Sue & Derek Southampton.

Fabulous pub food, lovely view of the water too

Staff were great. Food was a let down. Sunday lunch. Small portions, overcooked and tough yorkies, half a parsnip, synthetic roast potatoes, a smearing of pureed carrot and a big portion of kale, cheapest veg you can buy. Pork was chewy, chicken was on the bone and only small amount of meat. We have had lovely food here before, but not a Sunday lunch, so disappointing. However we will come back as people are great with a good location, and, hopefully, this was a one-off.

We’ve visited this pub on a number of occasions whilst staying at the next door Baltic Wharf caravan site. Our most recent visit was disappointing. My fish cake dish, although tasty, in quantity resembled a starter rather than a main course, and my husband’s mussel main course appeared less than fresh. Desserts were better and a reduction made on the bill when we complained. However, we will probably explore other options next time we visit.

Stopped off for a drink with the family. Ordered cold drinks for the family but we were refused a coffee because we were a walk in...... We had a table. It was not busy and they just didn't want to serve us coffee... Extremely bizarre! Not something I've ever experienced before. The young lady who dealt with me was lovely and deserved 5 stars. She said she was just following orders.

We booked a table here for Christmas eve. We tried for days nearly a week upwards of 20 times to get through regarding menus. Leaving answer phone messages and not being called back. On arrival we were given a reduced menu. Not what we wanted at all. We queried it and told we needed to pre order. Not really what we wanted at all. Food o.k service from management just not acceptable.

Table booked , great service from the moment we walked in, food is simple but very tasty 🤤.

Excellent service by a great team. Only issue was the central booking system didn't flag the kitchen closed at 5pm but staff were great and we all got our meals

We enjoyed a three course meal here on the 27th December. The staff were very welcoming and attentive and the food was delicious. An additional bonus was that it was 25% off Wednesday if you used your Butcome loyalty card which made our visit even better. We will be back next time we visit in our motorhome.

I booked a table for 4 people to have lunch, only to be told that most of the menu was off. All that was left on the special board was a fillet of coley for £21-99. We use to give that to the cat. We will not return. Mrs M.Shortman.

They coped heroically after a kitchen failure. The extraction fan had broken. This limited the menu options (no chips, fried food etc). But the staff really saved the day with their attitude and levels of attention

Food was very rich but tasty. I couldnt do it loads. But possibly once or twice a year. They ran out of butcombe original and lemonade. Very strange. Lovely pup though staff were excellent 👍

Took advantage of pre booking a table for 4. Brilliant idea, they were ready for us and the first one start a tab. Our various meals were fantastic ranging from gammon egg and chips, to vegetarian Homemade Tortellini. Attentive staff meant the drinks were topped up and no one was left up at the bar waiting to be served. Great time. Would do it again. 😊👍🏻

Id highly recommend the Cottage. Went here twice this week it was that good. Food is fresh and well presented. The pie of the day was the best I've had in a long time. My partner had the gammon and it was a thick gammon and had lots of taste. The menu is small but that is perfect as it has something for everyone. It's a lovely clean pub with a fab atmosphere. Decorated beautifully for Christmas and the staff are friendly and helpful. Anita was particularly lovely. We felt very welcome and found a table with two babies in prams. We will be going back very soon.

The manager James and his team were so helpful in assisting us with a slight issue we had(diabetes related) . Have been to a lot of pubs in Bristol, this is the best.!! Great pub on the waterfront in Bristol. It was pouring with rain - the pub was cosy and inviting. A fleece was provided for the dogs to lie on - we were all made very welcome. Well thought out menu with plenty of choice for everyone - delicious. Will definitely visit again!

An awesome lunch - freezing cold outside but lovely and warm at Cottage Inn. I love that there is parking for guests; food and service were great. We booked in advance and sat in a lovely booth looking out over the water.

One of my favourite pubs, serves great food and a great location

We went twice and they were mixed experiences. First the food was slow, not great, and the rowdiness of rowers was incompatible with a restaurant. Manager Harvey recognised this, apologised, and made our return visit very good. Well done him.

Always friendly service and a nice ambience here. Was asked to pre-order our Sunday roast to avoid disappointment, so our order was ready to be cooked on our arrival. Mini doughnuts also a treat!

This is our favourite pub in Bristol. Next to the waterside, so rain or shine it's a lovely place to spend the time and literally watch the world drift by. The food is always consistently good and not ponce - just well done English Pub grub at a good price. It was quiet on the Wednesday we went, which for us meant a very pleasant experience without the crowds. And with the Butcombe Pub Wednesday discount - kerching!

We had a Sunday roast here. The food itself was tasty, but the portion sizes were tiny and overpriced.

We went for food but it was so busy that the bar man I asked about food said they stopped food for a bit cause it was so busy so he was waiting for conformation from the kitchen what time they would do food he thought about 5 but couldn't say a definite time and we would have to book as far as he knew the pub itself was nice and they had a good selection of drinks.

Very busy Saturday lunchtime. Many items not available on the menu. Staff were clear about what was available, and quickly allowed us to order to reserve limited items. Food took over 45 minutes. Portions were quite small considering price. Won’t rush back, large football crowd pre game on a Saturday

We visited at around 2pm. We received a warm welcome by the member of staff at the bar. There is a limited choice on the menu, which we had checked before we visited. The food arrived in good time, and was of excellent quality. We will definitely be back.

Exceptional service, staff are so friendly and helpful. We took our dog - he was spoilt rotten! They brought him his own blanket, water and made a huge fuss of him. The nicest service in a pub that we have experienced and it really made the evening lovely. Food and drink were great too - not a massive menu, but enough choice for us.

Arrived specifically to drink the Butcombe references in cask. Simply heavenly place. The boy at the counter loves his job and knows how to convey passion. Among the best pints of the trip. Highly recommended.

Turned up to a half empty pub - asked for a table - and was told the booking system was down so couldn't sort us a table even though half empty.......what happened to good old common sense. No apology or anything so we're unable to eat. Didn't feel like wasting our money on a pub that couldn't offer us a table. Very poor management style....

Excellent Sunday lunch, wonderful wine and greatservice!!

We had a delicious Sunday roast with excellent beer. The beer has been very good on my previous two visits this week (Three different beers).The staff were friendly and attentive without being too intrusive. I would have preferred more vegetables with my roast but that's just me!

i been in this place a couple of time and the sunday roast its just great!. But i have an orrible experience with the staff very rude, expecially the girl with red hair that he serve me was so rude with me for just asking her another glass of wine her answer was im busy i cant do it now..its incredible i work in tje hospitality for more then 10 years never heard something like that..if u dont like your job just change it!. And another horrible thing was that I was kicked out of my table when I was still finishing my wine because the table was reserved but I had also reserved the table and yet I was told to finish the wine outside by a Manager. I will never go back to this place where the service is terrible and rude people work there who don't know how to work in hospitality. Stay Away from this place!
