the kings arms have a regular carving on wednesday evenings definitely worth a visit, good quality food and plenty of it . the decor is a bit dated and it's a bit scruffy in parts , but it didn't distract from our visit staff generally very good

Called in on spec, do not be put off by first appearance, extremely friendly staff, good real ale but for us the real treat was the food, well prepared with no pre-frozen veg, nicely presented and hot. Only downside for us was the constantly flashing big screen.

The food was nice, although slightly overpriced. But okay, given the area. There were muted sports screens about which again is fine. Maybe later we could have sensed a nice environment but except for a couple of men at the bar we were the only ones inside. Neither the bar person or waitress smiled at all. The beer selection was very generic, not local, no craft beers. Overall an ok experience, quite functional. I left not needing to eat again that day.

Came for the carvery with my family, really well cooked food and loads of choice, more than enough for the most fussy and hungry carvery eater. Nice selection of drinks as well, would happily recommend for Sunday lunch. The popular comment was best carvery we’ve had and we’ve had a few.

The best carvery we've ever had! On our Holiday along the Norfolk Broads we stopped at Womack Staithe and booked a table at the King's Arms for a mid week roast dinner. Only annoying thing is that it's so far from home! Every single item on that carvery was delicious!

I had high hopes. I always go into a pub and have a drink before attempting the food. If you can't get the drinks right in a pub, don't eat the food. The bar staff were lovely and we were not put off by the outside area either being a child area or having cars parked in front of your view. However, the red wine glass stank of old dish cloth and the wine inside was awful. I ordered a Malbec in a pub, as it doesn't go off, but that one was horrid. I didn't take it back as someone had just said the staff were busy.. Always a good idea to check your red wines, as they turn quickly and people will avoid them rather than say. It's not a customer's job to tell you something is wrong, it's your job to check before they are served.

We visited the pub due to staying in accommodation nearby, a quick google located this one less than a mile away. Dog friendly too. The Sunday carvery was absolutely fantastic. 7 different joints of meat were on offer with the option to choose two or four. Plenty of options of veg on offer too. If you are ever in the area, this pub is well worth the visit. Good choice of lagers and real ales as well 🍻

This is our 3rd visit at The Kings Arms we returned for the Easter Sunday Carvery and again, it didn't disappoint. It really is the best carvery on The Broads, ample choice and very tasty. The staff couldn't do enough, so friendly and polite. We like it so much, I've decided to book again for my birthday in a couple of weeks.

We went for the Sunday Carvery as it had been rcommened by a friend and yes the carvery was excellent. The meat choices were the best I have encountered; turkey, lamb. pork, 2 different roasts of beef, one was rib,I think the other was sirloin ,smoked gammon and unsmoked gammon. The choice of vegetables was equally good. A great meal for £14.95 each person. It is not the cheapest carvery but so far it has been the best.

Lovely pub been coming here for years but noticing every time we come that the prices keep on creeping up and up. They have the captive audience of the boating holiday makers who are prepared to pay the high prices. Feel sorry for the locals who are getting less and less every time we visit. Greedy pub.

Telephoned yesterday to make a Carvery booking to celebrate our anniversary. Advised that the Carvery commenced at 4pm so booked for that time. The place was virtually deserted and we were asked to select our drinks choice in our raincoats before even being given a table. The choice of veg was good BUT all the veg had been sitting there for hours. Only four roast potatoes left and like ALL the veg were barely warm. The meat was OK but, like the veg, barely lukewarm. The gravy was hot……thank goodness. A very, very disappointing meal for a special occasion. I have no idea how anyone could give a review of more than one star if their meal was like ours. A dreadful meal for my wife and myself and a special occasion spoilt by a complete lack of any kind of customer care.

Great service, a nice chat with the locals and the food was okay. My burger (ordered without additional cost extras) came plain with nothing except a bland meat patty in a poor bread bap. Skin on fries were nice. My wife’s crab salad was good but the crustacean was on the small side compared to other places we ate. My son liked his ham, egg and chips. Daughter’s sirloin steak was underwhelming. They make a play of meat being sourced locally which sets an expectation that wasn’t met in our visit. Would likely try again but not order steak or burgers.

On a recent cruising holiday on the Norfolk Broads we moored at the nearby Womack Staithe from where it was only a few hundred yards walk to the King's Arms. We called in for lunch where we had a very reasonably priced sandwich then returned in the evening for dinner. On arrival we were informed that there would be a 45 minute waiting time for our meal but this was actually served after less than 30 minutes. The food and service was first class. The pub also boasts a reasonable selection of real ales. Recommended.

We decided on a stop here for the Sunday carvery. To say the welcome was lacking is an understatement. The bar maid looked like she had never had a happy day in her life. One of the waitress' was surly with us when moving tables around. We made a complaint about the amount of fat on the beef. Next thing the landlord is leaning over us and asking who made the complaint in a very aggressive manner. When we showed him the plate of fat he admitted that it should never have been served like that. Then one of the chefs comes out and apologises and offers 6 deserts on the house but the damage had already been done. I was shocked as I have never been treated like that in any establishment I have been to and the fact that we had children with us. The food was half decent (apart from the fatty beef) for the money but I would say there's a lot better pubs on the broads for you to spend your money.

There were many options of vegetables as well as lovely roast potatoes, yorkshire puddings, cauliflower cheese and much more. The restaurant itself was very pleasant if a tad dark, maybe a bit brighter lighting would better, and as another reviewer has mentioned, the tables are very close together. Visited here with friends. Booked thinking it may be busy in the run up to Christmas but there was only one other table of four in the restaurant. Very wide menu choice, averagely priced. We were seated directly opposite the other table being used - why do this when the rest of the restaurant is empty, we want to enjoy our conversation not that of others and I'm sure they felt the same way. One friendly and efficient waitress and one who didn't have a clue. Main courses varied hugely three of a good size the other looked meagre. Three of us who had chips experienced burnt over fried chips, possibly reheated and oil to hot or needed changing. Other fried goods were well and truly overcooked and batter burnt. We finished main meals and sat for a while, its nice to have a reasonable break between courses but this was to long. Were then asked if we wanted coffees and we requested the dessert menu. Were informed apple pie was not available but it wasn't on the menu anyway and the two apple options on the menu were both available. Asked if the hot desserts on the blackboard were available and told they would check, requested hot chocolate pudding or if not available I would have the toffee crunch off menu page. I ended up with hot toffee pudding?! Were then informed if we wanted any more drinks we would have to have them in the bar as they were closing the restaurant (9.45pm). The other table of four had changed for another table of four during the evening so they didn't seem able to cope with a split of 12 diners. Our bill for the evening was £100 so not impressed and will not be returning.

Excellent very good value lunch today for £5.95. Lots of other menu choices too! Food was well cooked and presented. Friendly staff and excellent service. Ludham has many beautiful walks and combining a lunch at the Kings Arms makes a good day out!

Visited on a Wednesday evening so fairly quiet. Excellent choices on menu and specials board including some lovely fish options. I had sea bass on rosti potatoes with leek and bacon sauce and could not fault it. Marvellous mix of flavours. The rest of our party had other choices but we're well satisfied. Harriet made our visit all the more enjoyable and couldn't do enough for us - very attentive waitressing without being intrusive.

Went here on two occasions during our boat holiday on the Norfolk Broads. On both occasions, the food was excellent and reasonably priced. There is a model train that goes around the ceiling on a track which is very unusual and the children in the restaurant were fascinated by it. The only down side was one member of staff who acted like she really didn't want to be there and let the other efficient and helpful staff down with her attitude.

1st class pub & restaurant. The food here can only be described as WONDERFUL! The staff are so friendly and attendant they cater for your whim. Be warned ! , the portions are LARGE. We all agreed it deserves a HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating.

We visited the above establishment on Sunday during a week on the Broads. The Public House had a very good ambience and the beer was first class. Unfortunately we had already eaten so were not able to partake of lunch. I thought that a real pity because the food on display looked excellent. The smell was delightful. The staff were well presented and helpful. I was really disappointed that we couldn't eat because it looked and smelled like really good value. We tried to return later in the week but unfortunately couldn't get a mooring. We had a very pleasant drink sat in the garden with lovely sunshine. I would recommend this eatery

Good atmosphere and drinks selection. Dog friendly, food menu extensive and the best priced out of the six pubs we had visited whilst holidaying on the Broads. Food quality decent as what we would expect. Only ones women toilet which could prove a bit of a wait to spend a penny at busy times. Would visit again.

We were moored up at Ludham and wandered to find the pub. We initially just popped in for a drink and had a little look at the menu. It looked yummy. We booked for that evening and went into the restauarant end. The venue is very nice and large, there is a play area for the kids in the Beer Garden and a wonderful train that runs around the ceiling of the restaurant. There was plenty on the menu and a great choice for children. We all thoroughly enjoy our mains and desserts. Well worth the 10 minute walk from the boat. More of a roll back as we were so full. There is a specials menu I had Tandoori Chicken and Rice, the other meals were Ham, Eggs and Chips, Pork Chops And a Burger. Everyone enjoyed their food. Our Daughter had Chicken Fingers and Chips and then a DIY Ice Ceam, she was very happy.

Visited the Kings Arms which moored up at Ludham on our boating holiday. A short walk into the village we booked a table for later that day.The food is pretty good. Plenty of options on the carvery including loads of meat, potato and veg choices. Much more than you would find in a more widely known carvery establishment. The meat was lovely and not overcooked, as were the potatoes. The veg was ok but had obviously been stood a will so had gone a little limp. The meal was really good value for money and the staff were really friendly and welcoming. The play area out back was a nice to have and our son spent a good half hour playing there before we made our way home (takeaway deserts in hand... again, really nice!!!).

Best pop-up we have had at one of our events! Excellent communication in the build-up and the team arrived early with plenty of time to prepare. Super friendly team always more than happy to help The food is of a very high standard and presented very well. Fantastic choice of menu. Ostrich burger is out of this world and the brookie desserts were talked about by all guests. Superb value for money and leftovers boxed up to take home. Definitely, be using again!
