I make sure to stop at this lovely cafe when near Queensbury on my bike. The cakes are amazing (though not always ideal to overindulge for the climb back up the hill!) and the wooden huts are fab if it’s a bit chilly to be sitting on the benches outside. It’s just off the cycle track and you can keep a close eye on your bike whilst enjoying your pit stop. There is also a handy portaloo should you be in need!

The Junction Lodge is a superb walker’s cafe by the track leading to Thornton Viaduct. It’s got everything you could wish for on a walk around the area: warm welcome, good hearty food and - a real treat - a number of cabins to sit in if it’s too wet to sit outside. The bacon rolls are highly recommended. It opens Wednesday through to Sunday, 10-4. It was a real pleasure to come across this place. It’s an imaginative and creative venture and I hope it continues to do well.

We ordered the steak and ale pie...I was with a friend and my mother who were mortified that I wanted to complain. Unfortunately I didn't take pictures. Pub was busy as it was a hot day and a funeral at the same time. Back to the pie. It was all gravy with the odd tiny bits of meat. The biggest meat I had was fatty 😵💫 Compared to other hostililaries the pie is below average. And definitely would not recommend. Not value for money. The gravy tasted nice though. Giving it the 1 star review.

The food was fab. In fact; we arrived before the rush... within an hour the two chefs had to issue an half hour wait warning. The food is that good. Real Ales available.

Service and coffee fine. Ice cream sundae already very soft when it arrived, just about melted. I would expect better from Betty's and the price paid. I mentioned it when paying as you do ask if everything was OK. Just got blank looks , no apology . Paid and left. Disappointed.

Had a wonderful brunch here this morning with my eldest son. The service was great, as was the food, nicely priced to. The sunny weather made it even better
