This place was absolutely chocker block. Food was good, atmosphere was good to, considering it's in the town centre.

Tired and in desperate need of being updated with new furnishings and carpets. It's looking very tired and scruffy. The food and drinks are typical of all Weatherspoons, but as it's looking untidy and dirty, it puts you off eating here now.

I know it was busy & the Xmas fair was on but this is a Spoons that does not have enough staff on. One staff member on the bar working her proverbial off. No ice & not told so until after a long wait & drinks were presented. Scruffy & nobody to tidy the tables. But it's obviously making a lot of dosh & the food looked hot & fresh.

Unfortunately this is not the best wetherspoon I visited in Nottingham. Lot of empty glasses and dity plates were still left in the tables, so I needed to put it aside and it was taked couple of minutes for the staff to take it aside. The toilet was gross, never ever go to their toilet again. But the service was fast and food was typical wetherspoon. Need lot of things to improve for this place.

Visited today Friday 7th Nov 2024. Been here a few times in the past when shopping in Nottingham. Got a table. usual Wetherspoon menu which is extensive and priced ok. We both had the ultimate burger which we have had in the past. the food wasnt as good as in the past, was quite a small burger, not much melted cheese. The chips, few that there was were not very nice.

This is a large, pleasantly decorated and very centrally situated pub. I found the service in Nottingham generally very good and this is no exception: the staff were welcoming and very efficient. The price of food and drink is, as usual unbeatable: by far the cheapest of anything comparable in the city centre. I noticed that they had a booklet (presumably common to all Wetherspoons) with helpful descriptions of the wines on offer: I really like this because it demonstrates a real commitment to providing good quality wines to working people. TOP TIP: as with all Wetherspoons, some of the clientele can become quite ‘boisterous’ (aided by the best value booze for miles). You therefore need to choose the best times to visit: my preference is for early afternoon or evening at weekends and at any time from Monday to Thursdays. Recommended.

Right in the heart of the city of Nottingham, on South Parade, adjacent to The Market Square, is The Joseph Else - a run of the mill Wetherspoons pub. Here you will find the usual trappings of a Wetherspoons pub - very affordable drinks, sticky food menus and toilets that require a map and compass (as well as a week off work) to get to. Not that time off work is something that looks like it would bother the vast majority of the people in this pub, for this pub is full of what you would consider traditional Wetherspoons patrons. That being said, it proved an invaluable stop off for me as I waited for someone to meet me in the utterly grim city of Nottingham. Would I return? Probably not. I may do if it is convenient (such as on this occasion) but I wouldn't actively seek it out. It's not my kind of place, but it is undoubtedly a good place in Nottingham, and it seems incredibly popular.

Grotty place the staff spend more time chatting and messing about outside and are far too tired to wipe the tables clean which are a sticky mess, It would appear the staff have more pressing issues to deal with that isn't customer or job related, Ask for a damp cloth and the member of staff wanders off into the kitchen not to be seen again, Not put off I ask another member of staff and I'm given a bunch of dry hand towels, My advice avoid it like the plague unless filthy tableware what you look for in a pub.

The acoustics are odd in here. Sit upstairs and you can hear everything being said by people from the crowded downstairs amplified. Maybe because of the oddly angled concrete ceiling and peculiar voids. Whatever it is , it creates an unpleasant cacophony upstairs. Take earplugs. Fabulous view onto the old market square. There were only 2 people at the bar, one was being served. Another person walked up to the bar and a barman walked straight up to them to serve them. I stated l was next and was completely ignored. i asked for their name and was told by the barmaid she was new and did not know his name - seriously? I then asked to speak to the manager and was told they were too buy - honestly,, when someone makes a complaint they are too busy! I walked out without purchasing a meal and a drink. If this is your way of running a business then this is one customer you will not get back. Surely there is someone on the premises to deal with customer satifisfacion or does that not bother you. I only used this premise as it was convenient for my business and staff metings but will no longer be doing so. I would like to thnk there would be a response but looking at previous feedback l will not hold my breath. I am proud to own a business in Nottingham but l doubt you feel the same way.

Looking at previous reviews we must of caught the staff on a off day. My daughter informed them of an allergy when they asked. But other than that no offer of advice was given other than pick from the menu and come to the counter when you have selected. We ordered chicken strips which were lovely and also ordered loaded fries with bacon and cheese sauce. Unfortunately they were disappointing. There was the smallest amount of cheese sauce on the side, just enough to cover one chip if lucky. No staff approached us to ask if the meal was OK. Trying to get there attention to ask if we could perhaps have more cheese sauce which I'd of gladly paid extra for. But unfortunately the staff were chatting at the counter. It's a shame because we have been a few times before and the service and food was great and we was approached to see if everything was OK.

Turned up before 7pm on a Saturday night to be told they arent serving food due to "it's been quiet so we closed kitchen down early" so instead of allowing us to eat they would rather turn us away. When asked what time they normally serve food till they said 8pm so they shut down kitchen more than an hour early which is ridiculous on a Saturday night.

Saturday afternoon 4th January first visit table for two, Camden Pale Ale crisp & fresh & friut cider. Rodeo & Doomsday burger & shared some fries, possibly one of the tastiest burgers we have had, looked quite lost on the small plate should include fries. Sadly, the pricing lets it down. This place would have been packed if it were more affordable. the total bill with drinks £51 had the service charge removed £46.
