Went in with my elderly Mum for a pint early Sat Evening on our way home as we live locally, she accidentally fed a dog some peanuts, who turned out to be the barmaids, approached by the barmaid asking quiet rudely I may add, not to feed the dog and ask the owner first, we had no idea it was a pub dog and if so maybe you shouldn't let a dog roam freely around a pub if you are so precious about it being fed, rude women needs some manners. We won't be coming back here....thanks

I was wondering down Whiteladies road on a Sunday evening and this pub was one of the few places that looked open and serving food. I wasn't certain I'd want to go in, as I could see the rugby flags and a large video screen showing sports, and I don't usually go into sports pubs. However, I could see LGBTQ pride flags from outside, so I felt reassured. The inside is quite roomy, plenty of space to move about, and busy but not too crowded on a Sunday night. Best of all, the music is low key and not too loud, and the video screen is muted, so it's quiet and peaceful inside. (I don't know if this is the case on other nights but on Sunday it's great.) They have a limited menu - just pizzas - but they are tasty and actually pretty large for a single person; one pizza could easily feed two quite happily. Currently offering "Pizza and a Pint" for £12, not a bad deal this end of Clifton. The bar is small but stocks a really nice selection of good quality spirits, enough to cater to just about any taste, and the amber ale 'Bob' is absolutely delicious. Bartender was quick, slick, and very friendly and welcoming. There are clearly a number of regulars as she spoke with many people with great familiarity. All in all a great ambience, nice little find on a Sunday evening in an area I don't often frequent!

There are times when you make a match and this pub was my match. From a distance I don't forget its excellent atmosphere. That man who has a different glass from the rest, with white hair and who, if no one stops him, always occupies the same table. Guiness, Amstel, all equally well drawn, equally cold. It is and will be the best Pub in Bristol, cozy atmosphere, almost familiar because of how small it is. Sometimes there is a quiz and the atmosphere becomes more uproar. Don't let the slope stop you from visiting Jersey Lili and don't let the covid close its doors, since I see that it is temporarily closed, I just hope to return and have a pint. Greetings from your great Spanish admirer.

If you read a review of mine from way back about the Marisco taven, you may recall be harping on about "Pub" being short for "public house". It should be a place for everyone to relax. This is really true of the Jersey Lily. It very much is a place for you to duck out of the weather/ daily choas, to get a breather, a coffee, a pint, some lunch, some dinner, etc. It has become way much more frequented since it was taken over by Wickwar Bewery, under its initital management of Steph and Biff. Now with the excellent Ben with his hand on the rudder, its still great. We've had the food many times, and all times, good. The staff are lovely snd the locals (ok, me), won't kick your butt! Come say hi. Its a great pub, just don't bring so many us regulars cannot seat!! :-)

Friendly bartender got it. Bit into burger.. stone cold and raw! I like rare.. but not raw. Had quiet word with bartender who refunded us for 2 meals but I'm afraid all 3 of us now have chronic stomach cramps. I would actually recommend this place but only once they've sacked the "chef". Visited here for lunch with work colleagues having been a handful of times in the past as it’s very close to the office. Found that the usual menu on offer had disappeared and all they were offering was an express lunch menu consisting of either sandwiches with chips or quesadillas. The five of us ordered, all dishes are priced at about £6.50. I had the “Bean Chilli” quesadilla and others had a pick of the sandwiches on offer. Honestly, All the dishes that came out looked like dogs dinners. The bean chilli consisted of some cut up pepper and squash with the smallest amount of cheese I’ve ever seen, in a burnt folded white wrap. The sandwiches were lumps of bread, chunks of chicken and a slice of anaemic bacon dumped on a plate. This visit was so bad I wouldn’t bother going again based on that alone. So many other nice lunch spots on the same street!

This popular pub sits in a prime corner site near the top of Whiteladies Road, only a short walk from the extensive Downs area. The unassuming grey-painted external does not provide a hint to what lies through the door. The low ceiling heightens the atmosphere and the cosy establishment was busy with families and groups of men getting together at the end of the working week. The mix worked. This looks like a fine community pub and we received a warm welcome from the chatty barmaid. She allowed us to sample the beers on offer and we eventually settled on a local, thirst-quenching brew. This atmospheric pub also boasts a wide range of plus extensive array of spirits. The food looked good too but we did not have time. We’ll be back.

Went with a couple of girl friends recently. Avoid! Location, on the main stretch, nice little clean pub with a sweet fairy lit outdoor space but the barmaid was insanely hostile! From the moment we got in there was no warm greeting just a look of "what dyou want" followed by grunts and huffs as we asked for drinks. I might add this was a week night, the pub was quiet and there were only 3 of us (sober and pretty chilled people), so no obvious cause for such a foul mood. We had planned to stay here all evening as we heard the food was good but not a chance! I ended up chatting to a local in the smoking area who said "thats just devan she's like that all the time" (so i assume that's her nane/ nickname). Why be like that?!? This place is a chain run venue too so I'm confused why bad attitude staff are allowed?! None of us will be going back and I'll certainly be correcting those that recommend it.
