You can’t go wrong with this posh version of Cote. Great service. You know what you’re getting. Smaller menu now due to the current climate but still great. Would highly recommend.

We had lunch at the Ivy in the Lanes. We pre-booked online so we were expected once we walked in. Our coats were taken and we were ushered over to our standard cosy corner table that overlooked the rich maximalist style of decor in the restaurant. At 1pm midday there were still lots of people tucking in, in high spirits, chatting and it was an overall nice atmosphere, not too loud, with everyone enjoying themselves. We ordered two glasses of white wine, a still bottle of water, two set menus with a single side and a dessert each. Everything came just under £100. This extravagance is expected from the Ivy, and it was luckily that we had half of it covered by a gift voucher. Otherwise, with the bill’s high service charge %, the small starter size, and two glasses of wine costing a price of an average single pub meal, it would have been a little harder to swallow. But with all that said, the service was excellent and the food came out quickly and best of all the quality and taste of the food was top notch. At half the price it was certainly worth it, but let’s be honest, you don’t step into the Ivy expecting to grab bargain of a meal. Save up and enjoy the indulgence :)

We had the set menu, starters, shepherds pie for mains and it was very delicious. We also ordered some greens on the side, glass of wine each, bottle of water and deserts. It all came to just under £100, just to give you an indication how much you are likely to spend on a 3 course meal and drinks. Everything was very tasty, beautifully presented and decent portions. The service was prompt and friendly, we felt well looked after. Overall a great experience.

Best drink I have ever had was at this place! Fresh and high-quality ingredients. My drink of choice was the golden daiquiri. My bartender Olivia was very knowledgeable and helped me make the best decision on drink choice!! Highly recommend 👌 👍 👏 🙌 😀

Visited with a friend. We had starters and mains, coffees and one glass of wine. Food was delicious and cost with service was middling at £92. The service was excellent and all with a friendly smile from our waiter, David. He was keen to ensure everything was all right for us. Not my first visit and will continue to return.

I had lunch here today with some girlfriends and as usual there was a lovely atmosphere in the Ivy. The food was mostly good but for the cost and with their reputation a couple of things could be better. For example we asked for a tomato and onion salad to go with the steak but it was very poor, tomatoes chopped in chunks and hardly any onion. It looked as if it had been made by a child! The service was also a bit hit and miss and we had to chase up to pay the bill. We would come again because the venue is so lovely but attention to detail is needed.

Beautiful decor. Very good food and drinks. Service at the highest level. I recommend!

It was a great birthday treat .

We booked an afternoon cream tea to celebrate a 90-year birthday so our party of 7 selected a special venue. The main dining room looked wonderful and the reception staff were very kind. Our waiter told us they had “run out” of dry ice which was disappointing as this was a spectacle we had witnessed on previous visits. The selection of sandwiches was average, two of us had stale scones and the sweets were past their best. The waiter in our zone was too busy flirting with a colleague to attend to spillages, and a dirty cup was taken away and replaced a few moments later with the same cup. It all seemed a bit amateurish to be honest. The birthday boy enjoyed the experience which was the main thing, leaving us to pay the eye wateringly expensive bill. Don’t go there for afternoon tea and expect value for money, but it is a lovely venue for special occasions.

I came here for my anniversary dinner with my partner last night and it was my first experience at the ivy and it was amazing. The atmosphere is lovely, the interior is beautiful, great food and perfect service. We were blessed to be served by the lovely Flo H (with red hair) she was very attentive, polite and everything you’d want in a waitress. She made our experience very pleasant. We even got given a complimentary desert as it was our anniversary which was really generous.

Came for afternoon tea with my daughter on 14th April. Was really looking forward to going to The Ivy,but ended up being so disappointed! The cucumber sandwiches were very dry on the outside and around the edges! There are a lot of desserts and not many sandwiches. Some of the desserts were too sickly as well. Think it may be better if customers could choose their own fillings for their sandwiches and also the desserts as there was a lot of waste,including from other people who were also having afternoon tea. Such a shame!

Disappointing. My friend and I both had the monkfish curry, and there were only 2 very small pieces of fish (but lots of sweet potato). The waiter asked just after we'd been served if all was well, and at that time we said yes as we couldn't tell what was (or rather wasn't!) under the sauce. When the waitress took our plates I expressed our disappointment, and she more or less said we should have told the waiter when he checked earlier. So, not only did we not enjoy our food, we also were made to feel we didn't complain at the right time! Not exactly how you should try & recover a negative customer experience.

We stopped here for lunch - we had no reservations just walked in. First, the atmosphere is eclectic and quite incredible. The restaurant is stunning in visual appeal. Service was exceptional with wait staff, servers and management making sure you were taken care of in a manner befitting the stunning nature of the visual appeal. Next, food: we both had shepherds pie and it didn’t disappoint, it was so good. Desert followed and sure enough they were spectacular. Make sure if you come to Brighton you visit this gem.

Very nice evening meal and great service. We've been to Ivy Collection restaurants before and they never disappoint; opulent decor, well kept, well staffed, lively atmosphere and good quality food. It is a few quid more expensive than other chain restaurants but you get what you pay for in my opinion. We had two course and walked away completely full and happy. A small muddle with Mr G's starter was quickly sorted and the staff couldn't have done enough for us.

Been to a couple of Ivy's before so we knew the potential it has to offer. The decor was amazing as you'd expect. The staff were friendly and professional. We ordered our breakfast and waited eagerly. Food came in good time but it wasn't the food we ordered. No apologies just that they'll cook our food now. Waited a lot longer and then received our food. We ordered two omelettes and both looked like a toddler trying their hardest to do a good job. Not the level of expectation you want from a chain like this. Felt rushed and amateurish. Really disappointed.

I didn't think that such a basic meal as a hamburger could be made so unpalatable, the beef was very dry, and the bread was also very hard. I was very reluctant to finish it because I didn't want to waste food.

First time ever to any Ivy and I loved every second! The decor, the service, the food…all were amazing! My new favourite place!

Not used to this style of eating out and made very comfortable for our special occasion.

Didn't book... was just having a stroll through Brighton.. was accommodated with a family of 8..slight issue with ordering..was told everyone has to have a set menu..even though two in the group are vegetarian..so it would have been we would all have to have the same..so.spoke to 3 different people then manager..who said we can not go against policies etc..but he accommodated eventually..however in his explanation and our understanding..compassion politeness and customer service went out the window for several minutes. Eventually he explained he will make the necessary changes..food was good..not what we normally eat..however we enjoyed..

Went to the ivy in the Lanes on bank holiday Monday. The service from the moment we stepped in the door to when we collected our coats was impeccable. The food we had was first class. We were both impressed and would definitely return.

Had dinner here on the 1st April. Very good service, the staff were very attentive and friendly. The food was excellent - the steak was cooked to perfection, the scallops were excellent and the tartare was brilliant. Definitely would recommend.

Dinner booked pre-concert and turned up early because it was lashing down. Warmly welcomed, coats taken and shown to a lovely corner table. Service was good, chatty and helpful. Food was well presented, well seasoned and delicious. Really surprised though that only 175ml wine available, what happened to a large glass or carafe?

We went for dinner for my boyfriends birthday. It was a great atmosphere and the staff were super. Shoutout to our waiter Finn who gave us a great and friendly service. The chocolate bomb was amazing and was even made in a birthday one. Such a lovely evening.

Very disappointing. Nothing on the 1917 menu for vegans - literally nothing. Vegan burger was HORRIBLE. A thoroughly awful meal not helped by poor to mediocre service.

Booked a week ago for mine and my partners 10 year anniversary and I couldn't be more grateful for the way they made our day so special. The welcome from Hugo and Alba was so welcoming... we had a lovely table by the window and our waitress Emily was amazing I honestly couldn't fault her, she was very attentive and recommended delicious dishes... I had the sea bass and my partner the ribeye steak that was cooked perfectly (compliments to the chef) and then after a surprise dessert to wish us a happy anniversary. Thank you everyone at the Ivy for making our anniversary a memorable one xx

Lovely as always spent last night with a lovely couple. Everyone's food fabulous. However my monkfish and prawn curry only had 2 small prawns and 1 small piece of fish. As out with friends too embarrassed to say anything. Flavour good but very disappointed.

After a terrible experience at Ivy Asia (table not ready at booking time, no opportunity of waiting at the bar, of course even not a gesture of getting us an apologetic drink to clearly practising abusive surbooking - will never go back there), we couldn’t have a better relieving experience at the Ivy next door! Great welcome and all staff trying to save our night. The lovely receptionist, staff and food saved the night.

First visit to The Ivy after years of thinking it was too expensive and posh. Well it's very posh but not too expensive compared to most gastro pub type places. Fantastic friendly and attentive service from Finn C (that's what was on the receipt) Food was really nice. Highly recommend the fish and chips and the chicken milanese. Don't live local but will be back soon in another branch (probably Cardiff) to try the burger as that looked amazing too. 👏👏

We booked the tidal room for a small family celebration. The communication beforehand to organise the menu was really well organised. On the day, the service was excellent as was our server I think her name was Lily. The staff catered for special requests re slight change to the menu and the food was delicious. No stars deserved after our 2nd 2023 visit.My guest ordered the special of pork chops, he complained they were under cooked,i ate one-having sent back the cottage pie- and throughly agreed they wern't baked but more like microwaved.The cottage 'pie' consisted of a raw ball of minced beef soaked in red wine also known as raw chopped meat- and in a bowl (i'm not a dog and felt we were being abused by The Ivy' director who first recommended the pork chops as a special; with the cottage pie my choice. but when i asked the manager "what do you call this?" it's not a cottage pie !" he took it away, off the bill. As for the 2nd bottle of Merlot wine,which was a cheap house wine,the general manager suggested he could pour the wine in two glasses back into the bottle(which my guest and i had been drinking from)if we wern't going to drink it.<a unhealthy, unprofessional disgusting idea to say the least and a WARNING to all Not to accept 'already opened' bottles of any drinks anywhere! Fantastic experience. Very tasty food, very friendly staff and everything in tip top condition! Not cheap (compared to Belgium and France) but I really appreciate the British way of doing things!

The shepherds pie is always amazing. However the fish and chips were disappointing as the fish batter was very oily and fish was dry. The batter was so over cooked that it was like a dry crisp. I am surprised the chef let that sort of dish be served. Not what we have come to expect from the Ivy.

The Ivy tends to be one of our go-to places for a treat before a show, etc. We find that they offer exceptional, reasonably priced food, served in beautiful surroundings by great staff. Sadly we considered that things had changed on our last visit on Monday. My prawn cocktail starter was extremely disappointing and a huge change from the previous recipe; meagre ingredients, an unpleasant sauce, and an over-fussy presentation. Our steaks were good but portions were ungenerous. A ribeye from the all day menu, one portion of veg, and a tin cup of chips will set you back in the order of £50. All in all, we felt that the usual spark just wasn't there. A pity.

Every moment of our evening was brilliant ! The staff were fun, professional and attentive. The food was exceptional. The shepherds pie was delicious and the chicken Milanese was so tasty ! We will be back !

Decided to try stopping here at 2pm Saturday afternoon for a refreshment stop after a shopping trip and weren't able to get a table until 9pm as we we're told we hadn't booked and it was too busy. We had to leave slightly disappointed but decided not to give up so tried booking on the Ivy website and hey presto we got a table for two. We gleefully went back to the doorman to ask again if we could get a table this time as we had booked and we're asked if we're were going to order food. It was abundantly clear that the reason we had been prevented from getting a table was because we weren't stopping for food. It's bad enough that these high society establishments charge what they do but when they make you feel like you're not worth their time because you only wanted drinks it's shameful. The restaurant was busy inside but there was a total of 4 customers sitting out the front so plenty of tables and the weather wasn't great so probably weren't going to get much business for anyone wanting to eat alfresco! Had the area been full or a que of customers trying to get in we might have understood that it was going to be difficult to get a table. The doorman was quite persistant in telling us it was com pany policy to only allow guests in who would be eating but he would check with management. Moments later he returned to inform us that we could take a seat outside no problem. It was quite satisfying to feel that we had managed to get a table but actually really insulting that we were made to feel that our custom wasn't worthy. The drinks were very satisfying but due to the experience I can't say I would rush back to somewhere so pretentious.

Full English Breakfast, very good value for this establishment. You’d expect it to be more expensive. But it’s the decor that really is the attraction here. Lovely place and great service no matter what time of day you can attend.

We are fortunate to have eaten in a number of The Ivy Restaurants over the years but have not been for a while. Last night we went to Brighton and although the service was ok and the atmosphere lovely the food was really disappointing. Prior to this I had eaten the best Prawn Cocktail ever in here but what happened last night. The price has shot up and the portion has shrunk, very disappointing. Secondly I tried the Shepherds Pie long with green beans. Shepherds Pie in a Pasta dish is very difficult to eat nicely and the green beans were warm, but tasted nice. We did not receive a checkback to change the beans. Your Restaurant are lovely but please have a look at your menu.

We came for a family meal. This was everything we wanted it to be. We loved the food and service. It was great and we had lovely servers.

Disappointed. Reserved a table at 5.45 and had to wait 30 minutes outside until the table was ready. Ordered rum baba, they didn't have it, so I had to change to apple tart fine, which was tasteless. Ordered fresh apple juice, hoping it was made at the bar, but it came from a can. In the end, the bill included all the things we ordered and that were not available. The only good thing about this place is the architecture.

I know a few of the Ivy's and this one is really cosy yet spacious at the same time, the high ceilings and the art deco style create a comfortable and funky environment. The waitress was caring and attentive to details, which is no small thing nowadays, the food was good, same standard as other Ivy's. On my list for Brighton's visit next time.

We have eaten here on a few occasions and always just wanted to try the bar. So yesterday we just turned up and was welcomed in as always by the staff. The experience while sitting at the bar was an amazing experience !! Not only was the cocktails on point the bar staff were so welcoming. The passion and care they put in to the preparation and also warmth they have with you and within there team is a huge credit to the venue. Thank you for making our visit a memorable one. From my last visit, a vast improvement. We were asked to vacate our table and sit at the bar immediately after our desert as they were running late with service. I would suggest not taking as many bookings and let people enjoy their experience.
