We were served a delicious breakfast, the waiting staff are so attentive. The space is beautifully designed, it's an absolute must when in Brighton

Flora (FOH) and Pablo (Bar) are INCREDIBLE!!! Pablo makes the filthiest Martinis in Brighton and is so lovely and Flora was a sweet angel to me and my Mum when I came in on my Birthday - I hope the Ivy group as a whole has addressed their policies regarding gratuities and their team get ALL of the service charge/tips that are rightfully theirs (as they always should've done, since the change in legislation !!

This restaurant will never see me again. It started with the reservation, you reserve a table to eat and are seated at the bar even though 50% of the restaurant is empty... with the statement that you had reserved at the bar, which is not even possible. Food is ok if you like bland food, everything could be seasoned a little more. After eating, it suddenly became ice cold in the restaurant. When we asked if we could turn off the air conditioning, they didn't even respond. I might have ordered something else if I hadn't almost frozen to death and to be honest in October you don't need air conditioning anymore... Our waiter also preferred to take a break rather than finish serving his guests. The waitress who served us was very arrogant. We then asked for the bill, which was brought to us to look at and to settle the bill. Again, none of the waiters came, so we had to run after them. And even if you are not satisfied with the service, you will automatically be charged a 12.5% ​​tip and given the prices they have there, that can be quite a lot. I also work as a service provider myself but I couldn't afford something like that because then my shop would be empty.

Basic food disguised with upmarket names , cocktails expensive and minimal for the price and this we were most upset about as we had heard the cocktails were amazing , if you are comparing to other local bars in the area they are not , atmosphere and decoration on point other than that not much going for it ! Chicken was basically a kiev with an egg on , burnt burger bun . We were so excited to go but would not go back .

The vegan, vegetarian afternoon was a little disappointing. The cheese used in the sandwich was a vegan dairy lea slice. Left little to the imagination. Oh and they ran out of cream for the hot chocolates. I would say this was less than average for almost 100.00 fir 2 people. Have had better food and experiences at indepent coffee shops and tea rooms. Unfortunate that nothing else was offered to replace the chocolate or dairy lea slice sandwich.

We were recommended to visit the Ivy while we had an evening in Brighton, and I'm very glad we did - from start to finish, it felt 'a bit special' - definitely above a regular dinner out. From the welcoming and attentive staff - not fussy, just friendly and efficient - to the decor and, of course, the food, everything felt really well done. Even the extra touches like the flooring, and the toilets, are next level. And take a quick glance into the sister restaurant next door, the Ivy Asia - that looks amazing too. Our only gripe was a few minutes wait at the front door after being greeted and told the table was ready for us, while the front desk staff kept remembering then forgetting our booking! But it was two minutes of mild frustration followed by ninety minutes of excellence. Definitely we'd go back.

I recently had a less than stellar experience at the Ivy in Brighton. Our server, who I believe was named Vera, started by IDing my myself and my partner when we ordered two cocktails, which I understand is standard operating procedure, but we are 25 and I haven’t been IDed in a restaurant in years. Our drinks came in a timely fashion, and were delicious, but the experience went downhill from there. My partner ordered the haddock cake, which was unique and tasty. I ordered the truffle tagliolini and the French onion soup, both of which were fine, but lacking in flavor and underwhelming. The truffle tagliolini improved with some black pepper, but was still disappointing. The issues with our server arrived as we finished our food. The lovely busser came over to take our empty drinks away while our server ignored us. Our plates sat there, empty and stacked, for approximately 15 minutes while our server walked by, shined utensils, and reorganized salt and pepper shakers. I eventually had to stand up and walk over to ask for our check, which is not the service I expect in a place like the Ivy. our server then said she’d bring it right over, and chose to first clean the table next to us, despite there being several empty tables in her section and no incoming guests. We recieved no apology or acknowledgement for the poor service and being made to sit there with empty plates for longer than it took us to eat our meal, despite the restaurant being relatively empty. Had the service been better, I’d be inclined to return for the atmosphere and well made drinks, but after this experience I don’t think we’ll be returning to this Ivy location.

Super food in a lovely decor. Slight complaint there is a service charge which is not a tip. So you need to pay for service and tip. Seems unfair.

Had a business lunch here ona Tuesday in October. It's standard Ivy fair from the decor to the food, but that's no bad thing. We had 5 in our party and they recommended the Duck Curry and the Tuna especially. I had grilled Peruvian chicken which was very tasty, with a nice hint of spice. A vegetarian menu was provided when asked for. Very polite and attentive staff, service. Recommended

Beautiful decor. Table too small for the number of people we had and was right below speakers. The music was a bit loud so we couldn't really have a good natter and this was also the reason the order was muddled up by the service as we could tell he couldn't hear what we were ordering. Everybody enjoyed their food - I just didn't like the main course as I felt the 2 flavours of duck and lobster just didn't work for me but my brother loved it. We did ask for a bigger table and they told us there wasn't one. We could clearly see there were lots available and bigger but they were adamant they couldn't move us so that left us irritated and for that reason we wouldn't go back.

I had lunch there with a friend and the place looks amazing, beautiful interior and the food was delicious (we had the wagyu skewers for starters and I then had the prawn curry as a main while my friend had the prawn omelette). The only negative thing I can say about the Ivy Asia is that sometimes it feels like the staff is rushing you (coming over to pick up plates when you're not finished). We still had a lovely lunch and enjoyed it very much!

Such a great place for afternoon tea

Dropped in for a bottle of wine with a friend at the bar today. Barman kept us hanging whilst rearranging glasses, then no pleasantries at all - only 1/2 smile we got was when he handed me the bill - complained to the manager who removed the service. The bar in the Ivy is normally my goto and I have a well used loyalty card but this was very disappointing - the other staff are normally great and even today will got a nice goodbye from the reception

Excellent customer service from the moment we came though the front entrance till we left. Had afternoon tea and drinks. Food was heavenly!

I went to the Ivy with such excitement and high expectations and it only half filled those to be honest. I came as newly gluten free and I must admit the online allergen menu with filters is super useful but it's quite disheartening when you realise how much immediately gets cut out of the menu. Nevertheless, I had the shepherd's pie. It was very nice, but VERY small. I ordered Olives which took ages to turn up, however my friends sourdough turned up very promptly and looked and smelt lovely. Service was average, I definitely felt like they forgot about us on quite a few occasions. Not sure I'll go back, but worth a trip.

Perfect, but what else to expect from "the ivy" Really nice friendly staff and extraordinary good food. The Ivy is one of my favourite restaurants all over the UK but still it surprises me every time when I enter a new (for me new) ivy and experience the perfection like I went there the first time

Delicious food, as always but let down by disappointing service. It seems the newly recruited staff need extra training. Ordered side dishes were forgotten, lots of chasing up on wine top ups as our request for a wine bucket went unheard until the bottle was almost empty. Such a shame as we were celebrating a milestone birthday and I had "bigged up" the exemplary service on my previous visit.

Booked the Ivy for our wedding anniversary as we know The Ivy is always good. The food is great, service very friendly and there’s a nice atmosphere. It was extremely hot inside, but I understand because there’s a kitchen and a lot of people. They brought us a dessert for our special occasion which was super kind of them.

Well, this was a really pleasant celebration and the food along with service was great. We dined with our young family, and they were all equally welcomed. The food was spot on ! We will be back.

The service provided by Finlay complimented a pleasuable evening! REVISITED 27/07/24. Invited friends to a celebrately lunch. They were wowed by the decor, ambience, excellent food, and service. REVISTED 08/09/24. Enjoyed the Sunday minute steak menu. Excellent value, v.pleasant atmosphere as aways. Great end to a weekend, Enhanced by Louis' skilful service.

Went here for a dinner for 2 and had a great time! The service was quick and professional. The servers were polite and had an all round nice attitude. The decor is really nice inside and not as “stuck-up” as I’d imagined an Ivy restaurant to be. They have a lovely selections of unique twists on classic cocktails and I’m sure any would be quite nice before, during, or after a meal. The food is really nice too with lovely presentation if that’s something you’re looking for. It is obviously a bit more spenny than your typical restaurant but the environment and food do justify this. We spent around £40/50 per head but this included a starter and 2 drinks each. Overall great experience only disappointment was that it was a birthday dinner and the staff asked whether it was a special occasion which we confirmed but didn’t do anything with that. (They have some birthday desserts that you can order at a standard price so you still can do this if you’re feeling very celebratory)

Went for my 40th birthday meal with family including children. Food was lovely, decor and ambience great but I actually found the service quite rude. I was not the only person in my party to describe our waitress as abrupt. It was a shame for a place that emphasises luxury that we weren't treated as I would have expected.

Fantastic place, food was superb and the day with some sun all worked together well, 4 people started and main meal £99.00! Worth a visit even just the once.

We had an absolutely amazing afternoon at the Ivy. The staff were wonderful and made our experience amazing. My partner had decided to spoil me for my birthday, and that was truly achieved.

Always a delight going here and our last visit for my birthday didn't disappoint. Our steaks were cooked to perfection and the rest of the food was also excellent.

My favourite restaurant - the food, service, decor, ambience... everything is always first class. A meal at The Ivy is one of Brighton's great pleasures.

Overall, this restaurant offers good service and has a welcoming team that provides excellent service. However, the prices are relatively high compared to similar restaurant. The steak with no sauce and side for chips) a notable item on their menu, was just average and did not stand out. Despite the positives, the high prices and average quality of the steak might make it difficult for some customers to justify frequent visits.

The food was delicious, the service was great and the decor even more maximalist than the Ivy restaurants in London. I loved it!

Love it here, been quite a few times now. However on taking my daughter for a birthday meal today I was disappointed (as it was her first ivy experience) that there was no celebratory pudding at the end of our meal, when booking it asks for any special requests or reason for visiting in which I put 'birthday'. Bit of a let down this time.

The food was amazing (afternoon tea) the cakes were amazing especially the choux one for my birthday with candle. It was very gooey and bad for me but I loved it. If its a hot day make sure you eat inside. It was a birthday treat and felt like that. Thank you my to Grand Daughter who spoiled me.

The nicest and most helpful young man was our waiter, incredible service that was informative, fast, accurate, and knowledgeable. The food also blew us away at every turn, completely worth having a 3 course and drinks here, every aspect is well thought out and wonderful. The decor is also fantastic.

Loud, heavy beat music is not a desirable dining experience for us. As a result the noise level of diners rises, and it becomes similar in noise level to that of a busy railway station. Some may enjoy the 'atmosphere' but this is irritating for those that wish to relax and hear each other in conversation, rather than shout at each other. Because the boorish environment is not for us we were about to leave before ordering, but the manager acted swiftly and offered us a table in the 'overflow' dining room, which was much better. For that we thank you. The food and wine is excellent. The cheesecake simply divine! We came for fine food, and a classy dining experience. The decor, staff, food are right on the money, but closely positioned tables, loud music, bright lights, and deafening noise of other diners is perhaps what one might expect when dining at a fast food outlet. We may be in the minority here because the restaurant was packed, but we had high expectations of dining at The Ivy, these have somewhat lowered and we will think twice before visiting again, or plan a visit during quieter periods. 22/04/2022 Update July 2024 - the previous experience means we've not returned since.

Always a pleasure dining at the ivy chain. Attentive staff always friendly and willing to go that extra mile. It wasn't the fastest of service this evening but was very very busy. Food again always really nice but my ribeye was slightly overcooked would suggest the fillet more as that was cooked to perfection. Really great job guys keep doing what you do best. Definitely worth a visit if your in Brighton.

My husband booked the Ivy for our Silver wedding anniversary, it was our first time. We were greated and taken to our table. We were given the menus and given a moment to look at the food and drinks menu. I ordered a gin and lemonade and my husband asked for a larger. We looked through the menu and had made our choice. I ordered the scallops and my husband had calamari, mains were scallops and crab pasta and I ordered the salmon, but was advised that was out of stock so had the cod. We also during our meal ordered 2 bottles of water. The meals were fab delicious, the pudding was a chocolate bomb even had happy anniversary in chocolate. We were not impressed with the waiter as he came across quite rude and as if we did not belong, the bill arrived and we were charged £10 pounds for the water and £15 service charge. I would just like to know why my choice to tip has been taken away and why I would be charged £10 for tap water. The price for the food is very reasonable and well presented, and would of tipped and do, but think it's rude to add a service charge and expect a tip on top.

Eaten in a good few Ivy's, & so far not been disappointed. We had good speedy service & the lady who looked after our table was excellent.

Fantastic food a little pricier than the browns restaurant opposite but the food is of higher quality in my opinion. Service was impeccable and the decor was unique. My only quibble was being the euro final we did feel a little rushed.

Took my wife to the Ivy as a birthday treat and booked a table in advance. We waited over an hour and a half for our main course, eventually before it arrived I was informed the delay was my fault. Apparently because I mentioned that I had a shellfish allergy (when asked) the 1.5 hour delay was because they had to change the oil in the fryer when cooking my chips!! To go with my burger. An hour and a half wait for a burger, absolute joke. Will not be going back!

We have not been back since pandemic. But decided to give it another try. Food was good but not exceptional as you may expected. Service was quite good. Atmosphere was one of the few top notch ones. We will be back again.

We went for a week day breakfast without a reservation and it wasn't very busy. The decor is classy and luxurious and it feels like a treat. The mid week breakfast special was a smoothie, some mini pastries and jam, and a small cooked breakfast for £16. I think this very good value considering the quality of food and classy atmosphere and excellent service.

Wow, this is probably the most extensive ivy I've been to. Breakfast is always a delight.

First time eating at an Ivy, but the food and service were absolutely incredible. The shepherds pie was probably the best I've ever had and the chocolate bombe was not only an experience but absolutely delicious as well.

The most fancy restaurant in the city, I loved the place and the atmosphere. And I got there several times. The food was delicious and fresh. The waiters were very nice and polite. Don’t miss the afternoon tea.

I came in at approximately 1.30pm looking for a table for 2 to have lunch with my sister. We were placed at the bar. The service we received was more than excellent. Staff were very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was very relaxed. We were made to feel very welcome. The bill was very reasonable. I would recommend this restaurant to any of my friends.

We came from HK and didn't know this was a chained restaurant (a high end one). The deco is interesting and beautiful. The food is great especially the fish which was simple but fresh. The gentleman waiter with eyeglasses is nice and polite. One special thing worth mentioning is the very Broadway, pretty, spacious and clean toilets. Strong recommendation is therefore given.

Don’t bother, chicken thigh used on skewers absolutely no seasoning on the food, and the wait time is ridiculous GO ELSEWHERE
