Kambis Lebanese in Brighton and Hove

Four of us ate here on a Saturday night to celebrate a friends birthday, and I think that I can speak for us all when I say that we had a fantastic time. The ambience was spot on. Not too loud, but full of atmosphere. As it was a Saturday night they were pretty busy, but were still accepting drop ins. The staff are very friendly, and professional , and gave excellent advice when we were working out what to order. The food was delicious, and cooked beautifully. We had the Kambi's Platter x2 9Two skewers of kufta, a skewer of shish tawouk, a skewer of lamb shish & chicken wings), and the Mixed Meze x 2, all finished off with tea & baklava, which was more than enough for the four of us, although there were so many other treats that looked good, too. All in all a lovely evening, in no small part down to Kambi's and their wonderful staff. Thank you so much!

Came here for valentines with my wife, Amazing service from our waitress ava, so friendly, food was nice and everything came super fast, would highly recommend!!

This apparently is a local restaurant not too far from where we were staying. Time is running out that evening, but they took care of us not only with terrific service but with incredible food. We all walked away blown away.

Best chicken shawarma wraps and falafel in Brighton. Staff super kind and great for a bigger Lebanese sit down meal. Highly recommended whether you're after a quick lunch to go or if you're having dinner with the missus.

the food here goes crazyyyy. i get the delicious falafel halloumi wrap with their perfectly spicy/tasty chilli sauce for take away and it’s so reasonably priced. We came in for dinner last night and they were so accommodating and sweet. They seem to really take pride in this place and it shows in the way they treat their customers and the delicious food they create.

The staff are friendly and the food is always excellent. The owner is extremely friendly and hospitable.

I’ve been a loyal customer of Kambis for many years, and they never fail to impress. While I usually enjoy their kufta (koobideh) with rice or mixed grill, I decided to try the mixed shawarma with chilli sauce this time—and it was absolutely incredible! The flavors were perfectly balanced, and it was easily the best shawarma I’ve ever had. Well done, Kambis! Keep up the fantastic work!

Chicken was raw and it was awful

I went to the restaurant twice in a row, two days in a row, but the food was not the same quantity in the shawarma. The quantity was very small one day, and the other day it was full of shawarma. I do not have a standard for the service. I will never return to take food from a restaurant. This is the last time to take food from there. The food is not perfect. It’s normal and it’s under normal.

Atmosphere a bit lacking, but it was a winter, mid-week lunchtime.

Always good food. Comes highly recommended for Middle Eastern cuisine. The wraps (falafel sandwich with the works) are the best.

The food was delicious, we ordered Soltani and lamb shish and plate of grills, all were good. Service was very good. The olive was excellent

The food has always been good here. Been going for years. However on this occasion when I had a take away on Tuesday the 8th, I’m 99% sure the food has made my wife and I very ill, I’ll leave the the graphics out. I think you guys need to make sure the chicken is fully cooked and has absolutely no pink on it when served. I’m not the only one to comment this in the reviews.

Friendly Lebanese restaurant with a great selection of vegetarian and non-vegetarian. The moussaka with Lebanese flat bread is delicious. Good selection of wines, including Lebanese. Helpful staff and relaxed atmosphere. Does a lot of takeaway.

Great place for casual dining on western road. High quality food with good service and buzzing atmosphere. We came because of the vast vegan selection and were not disappointed. Highly recommend getting a selection of starters and just sharing them so you get to try the maximum number of things. Highlights were the Vegan Moussaka and the Vegan Ful, although there were no weak links. Would definitely come again.

I had an amazing experience at Kambis. I went with some friends and we ordered kebabs with fries, and everything was delicious, with authentic flavors and perfectly cooked. To finish, we enjoyed a tea that was the perfect ending to the meal. Special mention to my guy Sam, who gave us outstanding service, super friendly and super lovely. I highly recommend this place, and we’ll definitely be coming back! 😊😊

Absolutely disgusting food. Old veggies, very dry lamb and chicken. I don’t know why the rating is good which lured us in but will never come back nor will recommend.

Had the Humous and Chicken Kabsa. Both were delicious. If I lived in the area, I'd be a regular customer. Glad I discovered it.

Had collection mix grill. Quick service,very polite staff,but unfortunately meat wasn't good at all.lamb shish and kofta had weird taste, chicken was flavour less and dry.all meat went to foxes.rice and salad was nice.

We moved out of Brighton almost 7 years ago and this used to be our absolute favourite for a shawarma wrap. Went back today as we were in the area and got two to go and it’s exactly how we remembered , the quality the exact same , flavour, taste and overall great service! Amazing after all this time that they have kept their values and overall service and quality the same! Need to make more trips back! Outstanding 👏🏽

Almost didn’t want to review because I don’t want it to be discovered more…however, the food was bloody spectacular. Sumac on hand and the meat was tender and delicious. Will be coming back asap.

What a pleasant surprise. We just popped in on way home not expecting very much. What exceptional meat. We shared 2 starters and a main. The chicken livers were superb. They were cooked with one flavour I could not fathom, never mind they were great, the lebanese sausagues (merguez like) had fallen apart a bit but nonetheless also tasty. The lamb was melt in the mouth with loads of rice and bread, this was ample. The salad was limited but to be honest that's what you get in many places in the middle east. The food tasted traditional and felt/tasted like it was home cooking and what you would get in the country. I will be back. No photos, I was too hungry!

Tried the shawarmas at Kambis Lebanese Restaurant on Western Road in Brighton, and they were amazing. These shawarmas are some of the best I've ever had. They are packed with flavour and just the right size; not too small that you feel like you need more, and not too big that you feel overly stuffed. I also had the falafel, which was very nice. Unlike some places where falafel can be dry, these were actually good and flavour-packed. The service was excellent as well. We opted for takeaway, but the interior of the restaurant looked very nice. The people at the counter were very kind and smiley, which made our time there even better. It's definitely worth trying!

We have been coming here for a few years. When we visit Brighton. Things have changed over the last 6 months good not as tasty. Still good but not like before . Today we were in Brighton so made a visit and found changed more The prices have gone up which is understandable but then have. Reduced portions. Shame really.

We had booked a table a couple of days before but when we arrived there was no table available until a party left and we were told we could sit at a table for 9 but they would need the table at 7:30 ( our booking was for 7 pm ) After getting our drinks we were told to move to a table for 4. What is the point of having an online reservation system if you are not going to have a table ready for reservations made. The Baba Ganoush was very good as were the felafel but the chicken livers had not had the connective tissue removed so were chewy and very oily. The schwarma, although a big portion, was dry and did not have much taste and came with fries and a few pieces of pickle but no salad. Apart from the reservation fiasco this place wasn’t very bad but neither was it very good.

Talk about real gem you have to try it to believe it and I’m a fussy eater as I have had my own restaurants in the past and I know every corner that gets cut but these guys here no corner cut food was better then I’ve had in high end restaurants claims to be great this place deserves it’s acknowledgment try it to believe it . A lot of options, the lamb is delicious, the service is great! We had the hummus, chicken rice and grilled lamb. Went on Valentine Day, no reservation, it was full but the owner gave us his table!

Great decorum, really encompassing the cuisine which it represents. Staff was good and helpful, the kitchen being in close proximity to the dining area is indeed a good idea and it brings everything together. Food was amazing, well priced, the Lebanese mint tea certainly was a great choice for a hot drink, the china which comes along with it further reinforce the Middle Eastern roots of the restaurant. Overall, a great establishment.

After a 1 hour wait, a shawarma box of microwaved salad, soggy chips and chewy meat. You just lost yourself a regular customer.

Kambis has gone down hill! Ordered via Uber and was missing part of my order and the Ful was swimming in oil.. cold and the one wrap that did arrive had hardly any salad or lamb in it! I use to be a neighbour of there’s and use to eat there at least twice a month, I am shocked by their decline in standards! Will not be ordering anything from them again.. you have lost a valued regular customer! Not impressed!

Kambi’s was such an authentic experience. Most of the common eateries in the UK carry a taste palate to suit the locals however sometimes you are looking for that authentic experience where the taste is able to transport you to that place in ur head. Kambi’s is one such place. Being a vegetarian I got a plethora of options to choose from. Vegetarian Shawarma rolls, falafels and there was a dish with pita bread infused with halloumi inside which was heavenly. 5/5 on food; just a thing though that I felt that salt was a lil high for me. Usually I don’t expect much from service these days as its usually temporary staffing whose not much aware of the dishes and the culinary experience however here the service was great but could improve an inch. Overall, Recommended for sure!

I worked in Dubai for 10 years. So I was excited to learn that there is a Lebanese restaurant here in Brighton and Hove. We ordered chicken shawarma because I really miss it. It was kind of disappointing. I was expecting a shawarma full of flavor. It was bland. Toum is bland.

We ordered shawarma plate and the chicken was so dry 💀. The restaurant is always buzzing so I expected the food to be fresh and tasty but It was the opposite. Don't go to this place. There's another restaurant on the same road called 'Almoosh' which is 100x better. Kambis is pathetic

My vegan Mousaka was slop in a bowl! They didn't replace any non vegan ingredients, they simply took them out. It basically consisted of a bowl of tomatoes, aubergine and pepper, not exactly a mousaka. Dreadful. Service was good

I would eat Kambis every day if I could afford to. Exceptionally tasty food, plenty of choice for vegetarians and top service. If you’ve not been already, what are you waiting for?

Rather ordinary food with some odd touches eg the veggie moussaka only comprised a tomato and aubergine sauce. Where were the potatoes and bechamel topping? Weird. It wasn't bad just far from what I expected. Maybe the menu was better for meat eaters and certainly the place was busy for a Monday evening.
