The Ivy Canary Wharf in Tower Hamlets

Showed up around 11:20 on a Friday. The lunch and dinner starts at 11:30. Had the crab salad and cod gougons(fried in their famous fish & chips batter) and a mixed berry drink. The dishes were well spaced and fresh. They left a bottle of tap water on the table, and London is just warming up, so I was able to eat on the patio.

Tyra was absolutely fantastic, had the best evening with my friends! Will be back for sure.

Nice ambiance and menu. The creme brulee was premade though and not hot at the top.

Breakfast wasn't great. I asked for the avocado with eggs and hollandaise sauce but on toast rather than a muffin. The waiter suggested I had something else on the menu which was already avocado on toast but with tomatoes. I said I didn't want the tomatoes so he said he'd add eggs. It wasn't nice, there was no hollandaise sauce and they charged me an extra £6 for the eggs so my breakfast was £18 rather than £12. I would've been better sticking to my original order and not eating the muffin. To top it off, my cappuccino was barely warm and mainly frothy milk. Not what I expect for £50 for two people. Previously been for lunch which is ok and cocktails on the terrace which was shady but nice.

I had a rib eye on the bone OMG!!! It was delicious. If you are a fan of steak with fat, this is for you. Let’s not forget how Tyra made my and my partner's night memorable. She really made us enjoy it even further.

Perfect ending to a beautiful Mother’s Day. From the front desk staff to our waitress Jemma, everything was perfect! Jemma was very polite, patient and attentive just what you need when you’re ordering and waiting for your food to arrive. The restaurant was busy but ran smoothly and efficiently, with plenty smiles and nods coming from both staff and other diners. I’d forgotten how much I loved The Ivy and shall be returning more often.

The service here is amazing! The staff are friendly, always smiling, and attentive to every need. The space is cosy and relaxing. The food is fantastic as well. The highlight of the night was definitely the sea bass—the skin was perfectly crispy, and the meat remained tender and juicy. The other dishes were also enjoyable, but the sea bass was so exceptional that it truly stole the show and became the most memorable part of the meal.

Excellent welcome and waiting staff but the food was bang average, and for the price you pay, you'd expect more. I went for the half roast chicken, a chicken was possibly the smallest they could find and add to that, it was dry and no amount of gravy could bring it to life. The 'roast' potatoes are clearly deep fried spuds that were mainly just crunch with little or no potato-like substance inside. A few green beans and a morsel of Swede mash was on the side but you do get 2 good size Yorkshire Puds, well they certainly made the plate look full. Those in the party who ordered roast lamb were taken aback when told that no mint sauce was available but after 10 minutes (and half the meals eaten) some 'magically' arrived. Not a great experience food-wise, I will certainly be spending my hard-earned elsewhere as this was not a cheap or even reasonably priced experience.

We had a lovely breakfast. The attention to detail from being welcomed, seated and served was impressive. The coffee and food were perfect and we loved the ‘no rush’ feeling. What a lovely place!

Really enjoyed my visit to The Ivy Canary Wharf. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, and the service was spot on. Their cocktails were a highlight — definitely worth trying! Went for an evening meal with a supplier, the food is excellent and the service similarly good. We had a 3 course meal with steak as the main. We are in a private room which had plenty of space and it's own bar. It's located 5 minutes from the Canary Wharf Elizabeth line station so easy to get to.

Booked a table for two on saturday 5 days in advance requesting a QUIETER space, because an important call had to be made. Took my girlffiend and when we arrived we were seated near a birthday party table with 8 people who were very loud. People around including us were seated like in mcdonald’s. Could not hear anything that the waiter said or asked, needed to clarify 4 times. Ended up cancelling the call because the environment was unbearable, felt close to a club in terms of sound. Had to watch every plate that the waiter put down because they were put on the edge of the table always. I had a fillet steak and my girlfriend had sirloin steak. We both asked for medium-rare, mine came close to raw, her’s came almost grey (well done). The fillet steak was even a bit cold in the middle. The food arrived quickly. We got a non-alchoholic aperol spritz which was made awfully. Ended up paying 137£ for two people. Do come here if you want overpriced and not quality food combined with an environment that feels like a night club.

Been there for an official lunch from my company... It was a set menu for lunch and I opted for the veg menu... Snacks were good... Specially something they served as baby potatoes was really nice.. presentation and service was good... The overall taste for salad and main course was average... Not sure if it was because of the pre-set menu or what other options they have on ala carte... But my overall experience with food was just above average....

The decor is lovely and the general feel/atmosphere of The Ivy is lovely, however the service is not the greatest. I would expect a better level of customer service from The Ivy. If this was improved it would greatly change the whole experience.

What a wonderful restaurant with exceptional service in Canary Wharf. We were visiting with our team from NI for an event nearby and secured a great table for the evening. From arrival, Babis looked after us exceptionally well. Nothing was too much trouble and he was so attentive to the dietary requirements of one of the group. The food was excellent also. Well Done Team Ivy and Babis!

Brigitta and Carla have been absolutely incredible. Thoughtful, efficient, and truly outstanding at what they do, they made our corporate dinner an unforgettable experience. Nothing was too much trouble, and their attention to detail was second to none. I organise and attend a lot of these events as part of my job, so I can say with absolute confidence that they are among the very best. Good restaurant serving reliably decent dishes, with very good service. It’s an easy and obvious solid choice for a no jeopardy meal. Found it a nightmare to find on google maps though.

Ordered the fish & chips and most of the batter was still raw on the inside so it was not appetising at all, I had to spend time taking out the raw batter. Sometimes the fish tasted undercooked, like it was fresh from the sea, personally I wouldn’t like my fish & chips to taste like that. Not to mention it was also VERY oily. The chips were okay, however, and the mocktail I ordered was lovely (Virgin Rossini). Overall, I feel like I was just paying for the ‘fancy dining’ experience rather than good quality food and I honestly could’ve found much nicer traditional fish & chips elsewhere. I will say that this is the first time I’ve had a bad experience at The Ivy as majority of times it’s usually been nice. This experience was very disappointing.

Had the Sunday roast. Good portion size.

We’ve been to Ivy Canary Wharf and tried their Sunday Roast. The food was delicious, and the roast beef was juicy and tender. I was particularly impressed by the Yorkshire pudding and the cocktails—definitely try their Bloody Mary! The location is stunning, right in the heart of Canary Wharf, with a beautiful animal-themed interior. In the summer, there’s a lovely outdoor terrace perfect for alfresco dining. I highly recommend it!

Not a great experience. We were a party of 7 and when we asked for the 1917 fixed menu we were told that it wasn’t available as it was only for tables of 6 or less. We argued that it doesn’t say this on the website or the menu but didn’t get a satisfactory answer. The starters were fine but the main courses were very poor, the aubergine and lentil bake was very spicy and not at all pleasant to eat, the shrimp burger was also quite horrid. We have had great meals at other Ivy venues but we won’t be returning to this one. Over priced and poor food.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic Sunday Roast Experience! Had a great time at The Ivy Canary Wharf for Sunday roast. We ordered the beef roast and chicken roast, and both were cooked perfectly—tender, full of flavor, and served with all the classic sides. To go with it, we had a bottle of non-alcoholic Wild Idol champagne, which was really refreshing and paired nicely with the meal. For dessert, we went for the chocolate bomb, and it was absolutely amazing! The presentation was great, and the rich, melty chocolate was the perfect way to end the meal. The atmosphere was lovely, and the service was excellent from start to finish. Would definitely come back!

The evening started off with the waiter coming to take our order immediately as we sat down, without a pen. We asked for a few minutes, but could we have some tap water while we look. He told us he will collect his pen and be back. After he left us, we saw the waiter speak to another 3 tables, clear a few tables and also give food to a few tables. We did not receive any water. He then came back to us, again without a pen. We waited 10-15 minutes and in that time, another waiter came to take our order. Within a few moments of ordering, a bottle of beer was delivered to my table with a glass that felt like it had just come out of the dishwasher. I did not order a bottle of beer. The waiter who forgot his pen then came over to us and asked if we wanted to order, to which we told him we had already ordered. I asked him for a cold glass, to which he asked what drink I ordered. I repeated, please can I get a cold glass because I do not want a cold beer in a hot glass. He asked again what I ordered, to then be told I did not receive the drink I ordered. He swapped this out and brought both drinks and tap water to the table. No apology was received. Our starters arrived very quickly, all of which were lovely. We ordered the salted sourdough, chicken skewers and truffle arrancini balls. The plates were quickly cleared once we had finished, but we were not asked how they were. The mains arrived shortly after and both looked fantastic. However, the truffle pasta was lukewarm at best…. This added to our frustrations of the poor service we had already experienced. The waiter asked if I wanted another beer, but my partner was not asked if she wanted another drink. Again, at no point were we asked how the food was. Plates were cleared and we were offered desserts to which we politely declined. Reluctantly, we paid the bill and the service charge and swiftly left. Once again, we were not asked how our food or our evening was.

Walked in randomly with a friend after having a great experience at IVY Asia, so we had high expectations. The ambience was great, but the menu had limited options, which made our choices quite restricted. The food was average—not bad, but it didn’t quite live up to what we were hoping for, especially after our visit to IVY Asia. It seems like the focus here is more on quick, fast-paced meals, likely catering to the corporate crowd in the area. It’s worth a visit if you’re looking for a quick bite, but if you’re after something more refined, there are better options out there.

Went for my little brother's 17th birthday. Table of 6 and we were in like an outside extension, by the time we were seated and had ordered it was still day time and not too cold although there was a draught. I ordered olives to start and the burger with the additional cheese and bacon. I paid £4.50 for 6 olives, I knew the restaurant was pricey but that's ridiculous, Thankfully the buyer and chips that came was lovely and worth the money. My parents ordered the salted sourdough bread and it was delicious, a must try. As the evening came it started to get cold where we were sitting and I had asked 3 different waiters if they could put the outdoor heating on and they all said yes however it took 30-40 mins for this to happen and by this time we were leaving. We couldn't have candles in the cake and we weren't allowed to eat the cake in the restaurant which was fine, but don't accept a cake if we can't light it or even eat it in the restaurant, it just doesn't make sense. Overall it turned out to be a lovely evening and the food was nice too. It is pricey but depending on what you order its worth it and just of the experience its worth it at least once. They do have a cheaper deal on during the week which would work out cheaper.

Had a lovely lunch at the Ivy, great food, brilliant service and great atmosphere.

First time at this restaurant and couldn’t fault it. The starter was to die for (crispy duck salad) could have had 3 courses of that and would have left happy. Fillet of beef was a good portion and very tasty and then to finish off the chocolate bomb hit the sweet spot. It was very busy but the service was excellent considering and I would not hesitate to dine here again or recommend.

The food does not make up for the poor quality of service. As other reviews mention, it takes forever to make eye contact with someone who wants to help. Went for the Valentines meal, got there at 15:30 and didn’t get our mains until 16:35 even though we had been waiting with empty starter plates for 20ish minutes. When I wanted to order more drinks, the waiter was very dismissive before I could even say anything and said ‘Your food will be ready soon’. Ordering the drinks was a waste of time to be honest because it didn’t come until we were almost done with our mains. Dessert was disappointing and stodgy. For a valentines event it was very disappointing and seemed ill prepared. Even at the hostess desk no one could find my reservation amongst 5 people. If kind of awkward because they kept saying they were ready but no one moved so when we went to walk through they flagged us back as if we were going to run through the restaurant. They also marked us as a no show which was kind of careless. I’ve worked in hospitality for 7 years so I’m very understanding of most situations, but here it’s clear training and professionalism is lacking. I would never neglect my customers like the staff I encountered. When I asked to remove the service charge the waiter even defensively asked me why, even though he didn’t ask the other table who did the same. Had been coming here for my birthdays and special events but definitely not doing that anymore. Not for some stodgy mash potatoes, undercooked egg and rock solid brownies

We had lunch on Wednesday at The Ivy Canary Wharf and requested a quiet table since one of us needed to take a video call. Service: We were seated in the semi-outdoor area to the left of the reception. The gentleman (I wish I’d caught his name) who attended our area provided impeccable service. He was efficient, professional, and keenly attuned to our requests—discreet and courteous, a perfect 10/10. Among all the Ivy branches we’ve experienced, his service stood out as top-notch. The food was generously portioned, beautifully crafted, and presented with flair. The décor and atmosphere exuded opulence, evoking an enchanting English garden, and were as stunning as any other Ivy.

I came for breakfast. I was in rush but my server gave me so much attention even though they were quite busy. I had quite a few amendments but she took it in stride and sorted everything for me. Her name was Chi or Che. But amazing

It's been awesome place for the food and specially for the taste and service. A great destination of outing for me.

The server was very abrupt, took our plates away whilst others were still eating, didn't seem to care either when we mentioned some people hadn't finished their food yet... Although the food was lovely, the service was shocking, constantly trying to grab people's attention throughout, we were left waiting and waiting at the end for our bill. After half hour I decided to get up myself to find someone to bring the bill over.. After another 15 minutes I got up again to find someone else for the bill. After it eventually came, we ended up getting up again to ask for a card machine, and at this point, the service charge removed. Although the food was nice, I wouldn't bother returning.

Unfortunately the food lets this restaurant down severely. The Chicken Skewers were way too chewy. The Shepherds Pie was cold. The Mushroom Linguini had no truffle flavour or flavour at all, even a large handful of parmesan could not save this pasta. The truffle parmesan chips once again had no truffle or parmesan flavour. The creme brûlée although not tasted store bought and the sticky toffee pudding was very hard and spongy. Overall not a good experience at all. The only good part of the meal was the sourdough bread and butter.

There were 3 of us that had the lunchtime menu. It was my godaughters birthday lunch they came out with a birthday cake for her which was really lovely. The service was excellent from taking us to our table to being served. The food was delicious and well presented.

First time here, apart from a loud too noisy table, the atmosphere was nice and quiet, lovely decor. All the team was nice and our waiter in particular, warm service, really polite, the name on the bill was Darryl but I am sorry I am not sure it is the right name. Despite it was busy the service was pretty fast. We tried truffle arancini, zucchini fritti, Stilton and walnuts souffle and fish and chips. Everything excellent. Great cocktail. We will definitely come back.

Pleasant reception at first all appeared good nice table. Food ordered, we were hungry, so ordered a bread course, bread arrived with no side plates, or butter knives, side plates arrived with starters but no butter knives. Bread was not nice, crispy sourdough. You needed a hammer and chisle to get into it, once it the bread was average at best. When the starters were cleared, the table was not brushed down, so I did it myself. Shepherds pie was beautiful and highly recommended, sweed and carrot mash best ever. The other funny thing was my friend had soup to start with, the waiter brought a spoon and explained it was a spoon and it was for her soup!!!!!

Really disappointed to rate The Ivy so poorly, I have thought long and hard and I cannot justify increasing any of my ratings. We visited on a Friday evening, booked for a group of 4. We were very excited and looking forward to the experience. Overall we were so disappointed, the food was poor, the service was terrible, the atmosphere was uncomfortable. We got one served one round of drinks, had to try a few times for another round, despite all of the tables around us being attended and spoken with frequently, it was like we were invisible. We didn't make a big deal, as we just wanted to enjoy the experience, as the time went by, we were all just looking forward to leaving. We got the bill, which wasn't cheap as you would expect, and noted the added service charge and asked to discuss our experience as not being very good. The response we received was pretty poor, no questions of why, no acknowledgement of our poor experience, no apology, simply told pay whag yoi want, or don't pay it all if you don't want too. To say we were shocked as that wasn't our intention, is an understatement. We then made the decision as a group to say we could not pay it at all and we would ask for it to be removed, again hoping a discussion would be forthcoming, shockingly it wasn't. The 4 in the group have visited many Ivy restaurants in other cities and always enjoyed the experience, unfortunately this was not the case and we have logged it as you don't always get a good experience as you would expect. We had a 2 night weekend to enjoy, we decided to put it behind us and that is what we did. The following night we visited Jim and Tonic at the Print House before the ABBA Voyage experience. That was a completely different league, from the warmest welcome, amazing server, great atmosphere, lovely food, just fabulous. We added more onto the service charge directly to our server as they absolutely deserved it. It felt like we were not wanted in The Ivy, wasn't nice and doesn't encourage us to rush back to any of them. I sure with time we will.... maybe.....

We visited at week end as special birthday treatpart of a weekend away booked by my daughter and friend our visit to the restaurant was so disappointing On arrival all good met by 2 nice ladies at desk taken to table then all down hill from there service appalling The waiter who served us was unable to help with drinks choice and made us feel very uncomfortable The menu choice was ok but nothing out standing my fish chips were excellent but the rest of the parties starters and mains were poor or standard at best would have expected so much better from the ivy The service was terrible we weren't asked once if everything was OK we had to call waiter over for drink service and had ask several times for bill before it arrived we asked gent if we had to pay 25% service charge and were informed no we could pay what we wanted but he never asked if service was ok or why we were enquiring At first we were going to pay reduced charge and make a contribution but it took so long to get bil we had ask serval times when Bill arrived we informed waitercwe wanted to pay boll but with out service charge waiter was confused disgruntled said didn't know if we could do that we said we had enquired and we could he said he would have to speak to his manager four people came to till to sort it out Bill came with outcreduction then after discussion and returned receipt came with out charge manager never came over or made an enquiry to how service was or any thing we were made to feel invisible and ignored so many times extremely poor and rude staff behaviour We remained calm and polite through out but don't know how we managed to stay the better people Never before have any of experienced such poor service or ever not paid service charge but we felt we couldn't pay for service we didn't get When we got to desk no one there waited at least 10mins for anyone to come despite one of another party waiting for coats asking excit finaly served but no apology for wait no enquiry ifcwe had a nicecevening everything ok or anything just hellobthanku goodbye Extremely poor and disappointing experence l

way too overpriced! not worth it

Went here for breakfast. Was told yesterday could swap bacon for salmon. When I got there today the manager charged me over £20 (£10 each as it was two breakfasts) extra in replace of the salmon. I never received anything instead of the bacon but had to pay over £10 per head to add salmon. Thought that was a bit steep however staff was friendly and it’s a beautiful place

We visited this spot late in the evening for a quick bottle of wine but ended up staying for another until closing time. While we didn’t try the food, the signature class of The Ivy was evident throughout. The dishes we saw being served to other patrons looked absolutely stunning. From the elegant décor to the inviting atmosphere, everything was impeccably executed. Special mention to the brilliant bartender, Pawel, whose exceptional service made our visit even more welcoming. A truly superb experience all around. Will be back.

Not many gluten free breakfast options. I'm not sure why such a large restaurant only has one fryer. What about vegans and vegetarians too? (Honesty is always appreciated though) Food was nice, The service slow and not very attentive but I wouldn't come back for the breakfast.

The Ivy in Canary Wharf offers an excellent dining experience with a beautiful and welcoming ambiance. The food was absolutely amazing, crafted with great care and bursting with flavor. Hi everyone, booked the iconic Ivy restaurant this time one of the sister restaurants. Booked for my daughter’s birthday. We were all very excited as the menu looked amazing! The decor is stunning! You really can’t fault anything in regards to looks. It’s beautiful. On arrival we were met by a young woman on the front of house. Very helpful and gave us a table by the bar whilst waiting on our table. Once we sat down this was it. Nothing, not even a hello welcome or anything. Watching staff going up and down passed us all the time. 15/20 still nothing. We wanted a drink. I had to go and hunt someone down! This shouldn’t be the case in the ivy surely?? Waiting and waiting. Drinks arrive and we are ready to go to the table……. That’s right totally forgotten again. We wait and wait. Once again I make the first move. Excuse me. Can we go to our table?? I was told someone will be over. Yep nothing! At this point we feel like we are not really wanted. Finally at the table, sadly again the same thing. Waiting waiting waiting! I had to walk around the restaurant asking for some to take our order. Once done items missed on the starters. Out with children so this wasn’t helpful they were hungry. The scallops were shocking. I mean that. Sorry to sound harsh but no seasoning and massively overcooked. Awful and tiny too! Extremely disappointing. Mains. Kids burgers can’t go wrong? Nope!! Got the order wrong but yet again bland. Black cod with the size of a postage stamp! Oh and one again massively overcooked. Mean done wanting desperately to leave this very bad experience or dining in a should be very beautiful restaurant but we can’t wait to get out. Anyway nope! You got it. All staff not checking on us one bit. Walked around the restaurant again asking for someone to help and take payment massively overpriced payments for extremely bad food. Overall £200 and will never be going back. Asked for details to complain. But nothing given. So sad Overall don’t waste your money. Go to the local chip shop you will enjoy this much much more Emailed back from the supposed manager? But given me an incorrect email address? On the reply? Not great.

We loved The Ivy Asia so we thought let’s give this location a try. We entered the restaurant through the terrace and waited by the door to be seated. Serval members of staff walked past by and no one greeted us. We tried to make eye contact with them but none seemed to be interested. We then walked right in and a woman abruptly said to us-you know that’s not the reception! I was taken aback by her attitude, but asked her where the reception was as there were no signs inside neither! She pointed to a door which didn’t look obvious it would lead us to reception. At this point I wanted to walk out but my partner said let’s just give it a chance. We were seated finally then the most unhappy waiter came to serve us. He looked like he’s had enough and doesn’t really want to be there, so of course no smile, bare minimum service the whole way through. To put cheery on top when we asked to get our parking ticket validated, the receptionist with a stone face told us- we don’t do that during the week, only on the weekends! No sorry, no thank you and no goodbye! I specifically asked about this to the lady who booked my table and she said no problem but never mentioned about only on weekends. Over 200 pounds spent and I wish I’d followed by my first instinct and walked out. One of the worst service I had ever experienced!

This was my first ever visit to The Ivy and Tara served us beautifully as a table of 4 for my birthday celebrations. She was knowledgeable of the menu and attended to our every need. The food was simply amazing, I had the plant based curry which was cooked to perfection and so tasty. It was lovely and warm and welcoming inside and I would recommend and will definitely be returning.

We had a lovely meal at The Ivy. The food was really good, really prompt service and we were really well looked after by our waiter. We had a lovely table and although it was busy, we didn't feel rushed and the service was very attentive. We would definitely go back.

Had lunch with colleagues. Seabass filled-Pan fried. Was very nice! Good atmosphere and service.

Smiley service, good staples that never fail to please. Very glad I chose this venue for my birthday!

Great food, lovely atmosphere. Views of the city buildings are incredible at night upstairs.

I was taken to The Ivy in Canary Wharf for a “large” birthday. I was disappointed. The food was fine but the maitre D’, a tall, slim, bearded young man seemed dead set on spoiling it. First of all he didn’t greet us, or smile; his attitude was supercilious, he clearly had more of a high opinion of being a waiter in a franchised restaurant than I do. He then took us to a table in an orangery type room. I sat with my back to the outside window and it was freezing. Thankfully the rest of the staff didn’t have an attitude problem and were happy to move us to a table in a warm area. The menu was interesting and we enjoyed our choices.
