The Ironmaster in Fareham

They have sky sports and other channels but check first before buying your drinks as there could be other sports being viewed llke F1 or Rugby and even if its a big match they will not show this as some other people are watching this. This pub does not serve food now for quite sometime.

Quick service and good value.... also let my daughter keep her Guinness hat 👍😊

Nice atmosphere and friendly place

The most miserable bar person I'v ever met.

Very rude aggression staff especially the older female . Treatment of disabled people is appalling. Very quick to judge people and come to there own conclusions. Don’t leave many reviews as this doesn’t happen to me. How do people like this manage to stay running a pub? Discrimination isn’t a good image.

The toilets were dirty and the cuballs were not fit for use

Good place to meet for a couple of beers

3 of us came in for a drink and we got told they didn’t serve food so we left to go elsewhere for food. We came back less than 20 minutes later and set up the pool table while one of us went to the toilet thinking we would order drinks once they come out. A very rude female bar tender then came over in a strut and started telling us that it’s a pub not a social club and are we even old enough to drink, i politely told her that i can show her my ID if needed and we came in for drinks not long ago. Our third then came out and asked what we want to drink and the woman then walked off. Very unhappy with my time spent here and definitely will not be coming back. this isn’t even to mention the loud drunk people who were shouting in here at 2pm.

Best Pub in Fareham for sports.

We love the Ironmaster. We go there every other weekend. Landlord is really friendly and an all round nice bloke. They worked hard to raise money for a defrib for outside and have met their target. It's cheap as chips. Has the sport on. What more could you ask for on a Saturday afternoon😀

Friendly staff. Decent ales and cider. Don't do food anymore.

Good sports bar that does try and cater for all sports upon request. Not always possible but they do try. Staff are nice and the drinks are very reasonable, no food ia on offer here 😀

Tried to get in with my military ID which was declined. I was then told apparently the army tell people to carry around their passport or birth certificate as proof of ID as apparently your MOD90 isn’t a form of ID. (As a holder of a MOD90 I can tell you as a service member it’s a legal obligation to carry around your MOD90 as a form of ID)

Nice evening watching the football. Large screens on every table. Drinks ate reasonable.

Bar staff dismiss you, they’re rude and ignore you at the bar. Door staff are also rude, no care for guests regardless of safety. The entire staff team are questionably rude, no customer service skills. Would immediately avoid. Thought this was a family friendly pub but it clearly isn’t.

Come here if you want to drink from plastic glasses

Gone down hill a lot recently. Not the best atmosphere and felt a little uncomfortable at times. Not happy having to swap to a plastic cup at 6 o'clock due to ongoing issues with some "problem" customers 🙄. Needs sorting

I’m not a child, plastic glasses at 17.40 on a Friday afternoon, get a grip. Are sippy cups provided, a please and thank you when you give the bar staff your money is sometimes appreciated, but if you only have 1 person on the bar what do you expect.

Fabulous atmosphere and great beer.

Awful pub, they’re door security like to be very aggressive and violent and push, hit and kick people in the head! No friendly, considerate staff what so ever definitely won’t be back again and wouldn’t recommend.

Met up with friends here to watch the Rugby. Good service and reasonably priced drinks. Left by 7pm just before it got rowdy. Glasses had been replaced with plastic cups prior to us leaving. We had a good afternoon here.

As a town centre pub, in the daytime, this is a friendly, clean and very reasonable place to meet family early evening or weekend daytime.

Just got here for a job, that they asked for last night and the owner wouldn't even come to the door to talk to me. Screamed at me from behind the glass to go, so I did. And this is, people,15 minutes before they open, I can see him not being busy at all. Maybe the pub is good, but people running it are super-rude. First time I got there they were trying to pin a car crash onto me, no joke. My only problem is that I have to work there when they need me, so I will be back there. BUT I DON'T WANT TO GO THERE AGAIN!

Went there for a night out with a mate and had a great night. Friendly staff, good drinks and great live music nights. Haven't eaten there yet which is why I only have 4⭐. Maybe next time all in all great pub 👍

Friendly atmosphere and good selection of draught beers. Handily placed for people to relax after the shopping is done.

At 6pm they come round with plastic cups , it's a shame as we moved on to the pub next door as did half of the pub to drink out of a glass. If you're going to be treated like a uni student at 6pm I guarantee this will be the pub's downfall as I won't be drinking there again in the evenings. I hope u change this ridiculous policy b4 its to late

Myself and my fellow chums took a leisurely stroll down to the ironmaster pub, upon entry we were greeted by the friendly staff and made to feel welcome! The bartender Harry, a rather alternative looking chap, was very attentive, friendly and made the stay rather joyful. The venue was very nice and had a warm atmosphere. I would recommend to people all of all ages and backgrounds! Overall a superb pub ! Keep it up chaps !

Beer good prices, broken mirror in gents, plumbing damaged in toliets and front entrance door glass taped up with hazard tape.

Don't get what these bad reviews are all about, seems to me to be a witch hunt seeing as most of the critic's have never given out any previous reviews, and signed up to trip advisor just to poke at this pub I personally couldn't fault the place, first time in the Iron Master but it certainly won't be the last, Food Drink Staff Atmosphere Pub itself all deserve a 5*, the ale was very well kept indeed, just the place to visit when the wives do their trips round the town, keep up the great work thank you!!!

Right place to stop if you like your footie with your pint. Definitely a 'boys' place. Friendly enough. Plenty of screens available. Only Sportsbar I found in Fareham.

A great sports bar to watch football on the Sky sports channels but limited real ale pumps

This pub used to be called the Brass monkey!! it had a bad name for one reason or another, after that with a few different bar managers and a name change "ironmaster" it redeemed it self it became a family friendly Dog friendly bar that sold food now that the union pub corp has taken it over it is none of these and with a new manager it is fast becoming a complete dive again and we are talking within a month of new manager. They advertise sky sports but not put commentary on. the manager leaves a woman on her first shift in a packed bar by her self and totally losing the plot, the bar manager refusing to come help woman behind bar so he can watch his spurs play and in the end the bar girl downing tools to go out and have a joint with people waiting at the bar!! so now a family friendly pub sells no food doesn't want kids or pets a has druggies bar staff. stay away at all costs

Went here today, new people running it, got all their family in kids running around adults and kid rolling on the floor, family members from the people supposed to be running it gambling and taking profits from customers, untidy tables , what a shambles ,this used to be our local, no more, come back Carol

Great evening had with good atmosphere and a good team.

Plenty of good beer, loads of TV screens to watch many different sports on and a reward scheme for drinks. What's not to like?

I have visited the pub numerous times before and enjoyed drinks, food and the friendly atmosphere. We visited the Ironmaster in June after having dinner at a nearby restaurant. Luckily the football was on so we were able to watch this while receiving table service for drinks. Staff were friendly, helpful and we had a really good chat with them. At the end of the night it was pouring with rain so staff allowed us to stand under the shelter in the back garden whilst waiting for our taxi (despite it being closing up time) before escorting us under umbrella to the actual taxi, a genuinely kind and thoughtful thing to do which was very much appreciated. Will 100% be revisiting and recommending to others.

Worse pub experience ever ! The man serving drinks is really rude ! Got told to shut up on numerous occasions whilst having a normal conversation with friends ! & if you think of ever watching football here, I wouldn’t even bother. It was England in the semi final, wasn’t allowed to sing the national anthem, got shouted at for cheering when England scored. All the staff members are really rude & need to consider how to treat customers! Left this pub at half time as couldn’t believe the way we were treated. It’s the first and last time I’d ever step foot in this pub again.

While this used to be a very nice pub providing brilliant food, a good variety of drinks, friendly customer service all at a low price, none of these things exist anymore. Food is now diabolical and bought in frozen crap where it used to be fresh and good quality. Spoons are now leagues above for food quality and price over this place. There isn't much drink variety, a lot of unavailable stock and may as well be in London for the bloody price! Customer service, I couldn't rate any lower, specifically towards one self entitled and extremely rude virtue signalling bar man. While the manager was quite friendly, this was clearly not distributed among the staff. Pathetic. Being told , very passive aggressively, about their excessive (way above and beyond the governments "guidelines", not laws) rules on covid arrangements, like not singing the national anthem is disgusting. I hope for their sake there is another lockdown, purely so their terrible business fails and is replace by some rubbish like Starbucks. If I could rate ironmaster a 0 I would. Save your time and money and keep other businesses going.

I had such a great time in the ironmaster tongiht with live football on show. My waiter, Phil was a great host. He made sure our drinks were full all the time and had some great jokes with the group. Great guy and very friendly.

Went for a pint today with the other half. And all it was a pint as that's all we was offered. You would think pubs would love the costom but clearly they don't need it. Will never be going back

If you want to go to a pub and get watched, and told to be quiet when your not being loud 🤨 this is the pub for you. I have never felt so uncomfortable I will not be returning the manager watched us like a like we were doing everything wrong and made the staff act the same. We were up for a good night and spending money but felt so uncomfortable we left.... I hope you enjoy you night I wouldn’t recommend it not worth the cheap pint do go there ever worse pub I have been in. Funliy enough went in a week before just 2 of us and we’re nice as pie. Apparently can’t handle. Table of 6 👍🏻 It’s worse place I have been for a long time.

By far the best pub in Fareham 😍 cheap drinks, great service and the perfect place to watch sporting events. The land lady really looks after her employee's which is great to see, and you can guarentee there wont be any trouble at this place, very well run. The Ironmaster will always be our number one for a few drinks on a Sunday afternoon with our child. I wish it all the very best!

They've got you covered (no pun intended). Massive selection of drinks and lovely staff, especially Phil who can't help but make you smile!

Visited twice last week with friends. The pub has been done out and looks amazing and so nice to see the same staff back. Can’t wait til we can go inside.

My partner and 1 of our friends were out enjoying a Saturday afternoon and decided to visit the Ironmaster in Fareham for the first time. Upon entry we were feeling hopeful as the atmosphere seemed lively and welcoming. At first glance, staff were very friendly...

Brand new refurb is stunning, music in the background throughout the pub, all the sports shown, tvs everywhere even in the garden and the biggest HD TV I've ever seen. All that and the cheapest round I've ever bought! what's not to love!

Covid rules there but not adhered to by all. Service great. Prices not the lowest in the area.

As it is owned by same company as Slug and Lettace, there was no discount beers available

The venue was great, the staff were shocking.... over the top careful and using the COVID as reason to run rough shot over the pub... loud noise, fun or any conversation is not allow, no food and the staff happy to eat take away in...

I liked the Ironmaster yesterday and many times before. It has shut down today, so sad 😔.
