Costa Coffee in Fareham

Popped in for coffee. Great staff, one of which knew several regular customers by name. Friendly greeting and prompt polite srrvice - just what is needed for a quiet coffee to kill an hour between appointments

Long wait even though no queue. Staff don’t seem to know what they’re doing and get distracted mucking about or just wandering away. One male member of staff had strange customer service like he couldn’t be bothered. Second time I’ve had poor service here and it’s such a shame as used to be a great cafe. Will be going elsewhere until it improves.

They'd run out of decaffeinated coffee so I had ordinary coffee instead. It was unbelievably strong - I took a few sips and left it. I've drunk ordinary coffee before and it hasn't been anything like as strong as this. I ordered a toasted cheese and ham sandwich. The cheese and the toasted bit were hot but the ham was still cold. The place was full and I made the mistake of sitting in the Deliveroo pick-up area. When my food came I was told I wasn't supposed to sit there and that is why they put up a sign. Could I move. Not a great overall experience. Won't be rushing back.

I waited in Costa for 20 minutes before deciding to walk out. The we're spending all of their time preparing deliveroos instead of serving their customers who were in front of them.....disgusting.....get your priorities right.....I'll be visiting the co op for a Costa coffee next time!

It's a costa... Not a particularly great one, serves standard costa items, there's one member of staff (a male) who's name I don't know but he is always so cheery it's lovely to see. The shop feels very crowded with chairs and tables which are blocked off due to covid, it would be better to remove these fully. Lots of outside seating.

Lovely, lovely staff. Pleasant surroundings. BUT... very difficult to keep up with the frequently changing hours of business! These often change with no warning - a laminated notice suddenly appears on the door, announcing closing time has moved from 5 p.m (quite early anyway, for coffee chains) to 4 p.m. This week (19 - 25 July) it's there. Citing staff shortage, but there are 4 staff that we can see. And the 3 p.m onwards time has not been by any means ultra busy in terms of customers. A couple of weeks ago....same story. Come on Costa - through the first lockdown and in its aftermath, yes, every one was caught unawares and had to adjust. But 18 months on....

We visit various Costa venues, but this is the best in the area by far. Perfect coffee every time, always well stocked and very friendly and efficient staff.

Costa coffee shop in Locks Heath Centre. Ordered a speciality drink - Cream Latte, staff were friendly, newspapers on hand by the checkout and managed to get an armchair seat by the window.

You know what you are going to get at a Costa Coffee. The problem here and at many others is the slowness of service and build up of queues. They need to have a look at the system they use and take drinks orders much earlier - as soon as people join the queue - so that things are ready when you get to the end. It's silly for them to ask you when you're already at the end.

Very much in the Costa mould but very clean, friendly staff and clean toilets. Plenty of outside seating for warm days - avoid Saturday mornings as it gets very busy.

Nice ambience with outside seating. Only one machine so a long waiting time when they are busy. Free parking. Standard Costa offering. Friendly staff.

My wife and I popped in to have a coffee. The place was clean and the staff were smiling which made a change from a lot of Costa places. This place is quite busy and there were plenty of staff so no dirty tables. Costa's aren't cheap.

Regularly get a great coffee here & the staff are always lovely! Skinny latte's are my favourite but have been partial to trying cakes too! The creamy porridge was good when I came out of the gym!

Popped in for a cuppa and a tea cake, not to busy this afternoon, the staff were all smiling and happy to return my banter. The place is always clean and tidy and nothing is to much bother for the crew. Highly recommended. 🍰☕️

Plenty of room, not much atmosphere, more like a canteen. Quality of drinks and food very good.£21 for a drink and snack(pastries or crisps) for 5 of us. Not bad.

Came in on my own and received very good service from both members of staff would highly recommend the Flat white

I am retired at 62. I love my local Costa here at locksheath. The manageress and all her staff are excellent. Always polite. They know my orders and have my drink and food ready in quick time. They do a good job,all of them. Usually very busy and they are on their feet all day. I find it a very good place to be and a welcoming smile from the boys and girls there. 10 out of 10 for me

this is placed in a lovely little shopping village it has a real country feel about it but has your regular shops there really quaint place.

Set in the middle of the shopping centre . Ideal to pop in for a quick ocoffee or to meet with friends

Called here today to meet up with a friend. Only 1 person in front of me who was being served by someone called Chloe. Obviously a friend who she chose to have a long conversation with while she was waiting for their sandwich. Another girl asked what I wanted and made the 2 coffees I asked for. Chloe still talking to friend!! Stood and waited to pay. After about 5 minutes Chloe apologised for the wait and took my money. I told her she wouldn’t have needed to apologise if she concentrated on the queue that was building up and not talking to her friend. Not good service

This is a popular store - good quality coffee and service always very quick and polite. Only downside can be difficult to get a table at busy times but worth the wait. Outside sitting also a bonus when warmer.

Have been to many 'Costa's' but think this one is the best of the lot. Staff always friendly, coffee served as we like it, really nice position in the 'Centre'!!

Staff are great - always chirpy and happy, coffee is great as usual! Love a good old costa most days!

It's a Costa. I've never been here when they've run out of coffee, so in my book, you can't go wrong.

Standard Coffee from a standard Costa. The staff don't really seem interested in the customers or their job and prefer to chat among themselves.

Served as expected, good to have in th local shopping centre as a meeting point. Plenty of outdoor seating and situated in a good centre with a great selection of shops including Waitrose.

Mi marido y yo hemos estado aquí tres veces y todas han sido un buen servicio. Hemos tenido un desayuno fuera en el sol y también por dentro. También fuimos aquí en un día feriado. Todos los horarios ocupados, pero muy bueno.

Costa ! Seriously this place has gone down hill I had a coffee my cup was stained looked unwashed & could see lipstick on it ? The cake was dry & stale & I had a heated up Sandwich which tasted awful & I left...

Vaya aquí bastante frecuentemente y normalmente Disfrute la visita. Ayer no era especialmente concurrida pero no aclaró las mesas o enfermos es difícil encontrar un lugar para sentarse. El café era genial!

I'm disgusted at how myself and a few friends were spoken to at this Costa. An extremely rude employee asked us to leave the café in a very impolite and discourteous manner after sitting down for a few minutes, simply waiting for another friend to arrive. This would be understandable if it was busy and we were taking up a table however it was almost empty. After again talking rudely to us we decided to get our beverages elsewhere. I am now aware that this employee, Louise, has also been unmannerly to other Costa customers and her own colleagues.

One of the staff named Chloe was completely unhelpful and rude, she refused to serve me a drink I required and also, was inconsiderate and would not let me have extra milk to mix in with my hot chocolate; her manners were appalling! I am completely flabbergasted and miss the old, lovely, kind staff who used to work there and believe the current staff need to lose their disrespectful attitude and work with a smile and a positive mentality with perpetual manners towards me and all the other people who visit cause I the customer do not like being disrespected when I go for a hot chocolate after work!

Personal agradable café bebidas, lo que trajo negativo fue el tostado de queso Sandwich. . . fue cubierta en negro que he guardado para transmitir a nivel de comercio de alimentos, ya que creo que es de metal de la tostadora que reservaban el sándwich era incapaz comestible sándwiches tostados.

Just the same as any other franchised Costa. Avoid it! There is nothing about homogenised taste and overpriced food that should attract anyone. Seek out independents!

This Costa is a bit like a large porta cabin and if it's busy it's not pleasant because its very noisy indeed, the acoustics of the building seem to make it really tricky to hear normal speaking levels.The free newspapers are great.The seating is a bit cramped.The staff are also a bit hit and miss, some are really pleasant and some are barely able to hand you your coffee. Not sure why it's so inconsistent at this particular Costa compared to others?The coffee is consistent, but this Costa is best avoided unless your desperate, if you want to chill and have a chat.

Won't bother again. Sign up for a loyalty card everyone and get a free hot lovely coffee at waitrose every day. Tables dirty, cups looked like they needed a good wash.

I went today (16.07.16), and before I went in it looked really busy. However 30 minutes later it was virtually empty. I got my favourite seat (the 2 comfy chairs by the costa sign) and was looking forward to a cooling drink (boy I needed it today!). I ordered and got my drink at a reasonable price (£3.75). However I had to ask for it to be re-blended as it was way to icy to drink before. They did it straight away (by now there was a queue), and it was perfect after then. So a decent visit.

Love this costa friendly staff they know what I have great place to go I love it you can take anyone down there they are all fab

Been here a few times and it was always abysmal! Worst coffee I've ever had was always lukewarm, tables are a state! One of the worst outlets I've ever visited!

This Costa is not always the cleanest unfortunately and drinks not always hot. Have given it a try about 5 times. Would recommend wiping the tables more often.

I am charged different prices for my drink every day. Babyccino on the board is 55p yet I'm charged between 55p, £1.05 & £1.55. Very confusing. I've complained to Costa lots who just send me a voucher but it happens again!

Amazing as always great friendly staff always so helpful great atmosphere always clean and tidy can't wait for the Black Forest hot chocolate to be back

I've given this Costa a few chances and have been let down each time. The floors and surfaces are unclean, the staff can be rude and unfriendly, and their hot chocolate is cold and tasteless.

My two daughters were being lazy, wanting a lift into the the first day back on their second year at Fareham College.on the way down we noticed huge queues of traffic tailing back miles for my return trip. So once the girls we safely dropped off, I decided to stop off here at the Costa Coffee store in the Locks Heath centre, for a drink, toilets and break, while awaiting the traffic queues to die down a bit so that I wasn't stuck in slow or non-moving traffic wasting fuel, going home.The place was quite busy, at about 8.30am... There were plenty of space outside, but at the weather was a little cold, and my back doesn't like the colder weather, I decided to use inside.There was approx half the seating free, and I could only see one table that appears to have just been vacated, with used coffee cups etc on it, needing clearing, the rest were spotless and free....There wasn't a queue at the till, so I was able to order and get served straightway, which isn't always the case in some Costa's... The coffee was piping hot and the aroma was lovely.Deciding to take a window sit, I logged into their free wifi option, so I could catchup on the traffic via my mobile, while I had my drink.The coffee never fails me. I am by no way a coffee buff, in fact far from it, but I know what I like and this was just right.The staff were flitting about clearing the odd table as soon as the table became free... There appeared to only be 2 people working at least in the front of house, but that didn't stop them looking after the customers and clearing quickly.The toilets were clean, and smelled fresh...

The staff her are always friendly and efficient. Coffee and food always tasty. Coffee shop clean and has a nice atmosphere to hang out in.

Always consistently good products in comfortable surroundings and as always it comes at a price. So its either a Cafe or a Costa. I much prefer the latter.

Know what your getting, but not sure if it's an owned or franchised outlet . Good location at heart of the Locks Heath Centre .Bit I couldn't get my head round was towards the end of the day chairs would be formed into circles and mops out . Telling customers you don't sit here I want to clean or have cleaned and want to get away on time. In my youth cleaning was done after closing time to customers , not during what are meant to be opening hours.. Feel like you are getting a substandard service and they don't really want you there .... Hence stopped going latter part of the day .meant they lost income as didn't work in area most of the day, so didn't go earlier. Actually went to Whiteley Costs more customer orientated attitude .

I have used this a few times when over at Locksheath shopping in the small shopping centre or at Waitrose. Its a typical Costa franchise house and serves what you would expect.The staff are very pleasant and cheerful and happy to help.If you sit at the long table area opposite the counter it can be very frustrating as whenever the door is opened and closed, the whole table shakes. This is something they need to address, as its very annoying, especially if you have a tablet and trying to work on it.Other than that, they do what it says on the tin.

Nothing we like more than to browse the papers/do the crossword over a lovely Costa coffee! Good quality drinks at a competitive price, with friendly staff.

The staff are friendly and helpful Coffee is in my opinion superior to Both Starbucks & Waitrose though you are able to get a free large coffee if you are a Waitrose card holder. Caffe Nero comes an extremely close second to Costa.Food is tasty if a tad expensive, ambience relaxed with some really comfortable seating.However, the door facing the Post office could do with being locked during High Winds or very cold weather as it is very chilly for customers who chose the arm Chairs as their seating.Table seating is a little cosy but just about acceptable towards the right as you leave the counter.I do frequent this Costa at least 2/3 times a week most weeks.

The staff make their best efforts to remember you and your drink, they are always happy and cheerful, tables and chairs are well maintained and cleaned. The staff are happy to pass their opinion on the different types of coffees and upsell with new flavours.

Nice little coffee bar with typical Costa offering in pleasant retail location. Building is almost totally glazed so light and airy.

First time in a Costa Coffee. Needed to kill some time, so visited coffee shop in Locks Heath Centre. Ordered a speciality drink - Gingerbread & Cream Latte, not cheap at £3.25, but staff were friendly, newspapers on hand by the checkout and managed to get an armchair seat by the window. Always been a fan of Starbucks and sorry to say they are far superior. Also you will be better off visiting the Waitrose coffee shop opposite which serve Cappucino and Latte's at a much cheaper price and the coffee is STRONG - Just the way I like it!

The staff are pleasant and helpful and the coffee is just what to expect, with a nice choice of cakes etc. the location is convenient, the only downside for me is that it's a draughty place to sit, there are 2 doors into the indoor area and they are large doors into a fairly small room, so either warp up or grab a seat on the southsie near to the window, the side facing towards the butchers.

As soon as you enter you can tell this is a relaxed, happy but efficient Costa. I suspect this is due to the staff who are all on top of their game. Coffee and food are as per all Costas but the location, decor and friendliness make this Costa stand out - well done the team in LH.

Finally a decent coffee shop in the area! Love coming here for a drink and cake and a chat with my friends. Staff are always really nice and helpful. Good choice of cakes and drinks.

Out of all the Costa Coffee shops I've been to this one stands out a mile and all for good reasons. Staff are friendly and welcoming. As it's our local one I go regularly to catch up with friends. The staff get to know you and are always proud to give the best service. On one occassion Becky took time to explain to my 7yr old how the coffee beans are grown, transported here and grounded to make the fine powder which we use for our coffee. When I praised her to her manager she was rewarded a bonus. The subsequent visit she took the time to thank me. It was such a pleasure, I just wish all young people are given such an opportunity. This team are always smiling and relaxed creating a wonderful atmosphere this coffee shop has.Keep up the fantastic job you all do.

we have needed something like this for years in the Locks Heath centre.The costa recipe works here and the staff are usually pretty good.The trouble is sometimes its too busy and can be hard to find a seat but not a big issueOverall a regular stop during saturday and sunday shopping

It's Costa. I take a small black americano. But its impressive to watch the lead barista and manager at work.
