The Inn Dining in Scarborough

We are staying in Goathland at a different hotel but this was the only place we could find offering a Sunday Roast is the evening menu. After a days walking a Roast was definitely necessary, if not essential. Walked in and thought we had entered a low cost carvery. First looks and all that. But the roast was simply superb. Extra gravy and veg were delivered without need big to ask. The condiments were also provided within a minute of being requested. So top food and top service and we were delighted. Will come back as the menu offered other great dishes and they only specials to boot.

Had an evening meal here on Tuesday night and was really impressed of how welcoming they were to myself and my dog. All the staff made a real fuss over my dog. They’ve got a great space outside with a few tables outside the front of the restaurant and a big garden with tables. Inside is lively as well. Food was good and not overpriced I had the chicken and chorizo scotch egg to start and the steak pie. Both very nice.

Varied menu of high quality produce and very thoughtful staff. Nothing is too much trouble. On the MENU although one to avoid would be a Barnsley Lamb more of a Bony M otherwise splendid fayre here.

Lovely bar and food. Staff are really friendly and make you feel welcome. A lovely contrast to the awful place across the road where we stayed. Highly recommended!!

We had a dinner, bed and breakfast deal. This included 2 courses for dinner. We both had a starter and main meal. The dessert menu was very tempting but we just couldn't manage anything else ! My starter was an amazingly presented and delicious smoked salmon and prawn cocktail.

Title says it all! Very busy too; avoid 6:30pm because that's when everyone else wants to eat, us included!

Having checked in at a local BnB we needed somewhere to eat that evening…..Gill our host tried to ring here but they were busy so didn’t answer and she suggested that we call in to see if they were able to fit us in….. On arrival at the Inn, we were greeted in a friendly professional manner and the young man (sorry I didn’t get your name) who I think is a duty manager, said we could have a table in 3/4 hour, so that was a result. We sat and had a drink and perused the menu, made our selection and by then the table was available. We chose - garlic mushrooms, cod goujons, hake and a vegetable wellington all washed down with a tasty Rose. The food, service and ambience was very good. We called in the next afternoon, after a long walk and had a drink, sitting out on the terrace. It was once again popular and therefore a good atmosphere.

Stayed in Goathland for several nights and this was the place of choice for us. Great selection of well cooked food and friendly staff who remembered you after only 1 visit.

The menu choice is fabulous, food excellent. We ate there 3 times during our stay to Goathland. Staff friendly, very accommodating and nothing is too much trouble.

We had a lovely meal at inn on the Green so good we went back again 2 days later. Staff very friendly service excellent.

We visited The Inn twice whilst on holiday in Goathland. Both times we had fabulous evening meals, really excellent friendly service and good value for money. Nothing was too much trouble and they happily catered to my partners food intolerances. Would certainly recommend them.

Absolutely lovely warm welcome, the table was decorated lovely and food was amazing. Lovely to sit and see sheep walk past. All staff were lovely and very attentive.

Very good meal, while so close to Whitby we chose the Haddock and weren't disappointed it was a large portion and very well cooked. We had chosen to book a table in the bar and it was really cosy and comfortable , the second night, although, again having chosen to book a table in the bar, we were given an isolated table in the small dining area next to the conservatory , (due to the fact we were informed) that people with dogs were given priority and been allocated the Hydro Bar tables )..... Whilst appreciating we still had a table on a very wet evening we had booked the two nights evening meals in the Hydro Bar 2 weeks prior to our visit and felt that our preference had been ignored, especially as during the whole time we were there no dogs entered the bar area. A small disappointment, which seemed unnecessary. Nevertheless we did have good meals on both nights.

This is within the Inn on the Moor and we ate here throughout our stay. We never even thought of going anywhere else to eat! Good menu, well-presented and not expensive.

Myself and partner came in for a few drinks and ended up stay for dinner. The food was tasty, the staff were amazing and friendly and our drinks we never empty! Couldn’t recommend enough

Step inside this inn and you will think you have moved forward in time 30 years from its looks outside. Inside is a modern contempary hotel/inn with great food, atmosphere and happy staff alway happy to help. A great place to eat/drink/unwind.

Meals were very prompt and very filling at a very reasonable cost. Nothing was too much trouble and staff were very friendly and accommodating.

We we're recommended this location as somewhere we could eat with our dog. The staff were very friendly and the food was spot on. It was so good we returned the following night. The specials menu changed daily so there was lots of choice and it was good value for money.

We ate here every evening of our stay in Goathland as the food was so good, service excellent and at very reasonable prices.I can definitely recommend the lasagne, it is the best I have ever tasted, and the steak pie is also delicious. The deserts are to die for and as the portions are so generous, did not manage one every night. Once or twice we just had a starter and a desert and were well satisfied.The staff are all very pleasant and efficient and certainly aim to please.It is very popular with locals and non-residents so would recommend booking a table before your visit.

The Inn was recommended by Gill at Mill Croft so we booked a table for the first evening of our stay. The food was so good we ate there the following 2 evenings. The staff were so friendly & Paul who looked after us on the first evening was especially helpful. The choice of food available is very good and the Kid's portion size is perfect for somebody with a smaller appetite. They are also very willing to serve a smaller size portion of many of the items on the menu. All you need to do is ask & they will do their best. It is best to reserve a table as they do get very busy, but the ait is worth it.

Came here by recommendation after having a terrible experience with another well known restaurant in Goathland.

Whilst staying at a local b&b; we ate here one evening, the food and service were spot on and the hotel itself very pleasant. Caters for families and dogs.

We went to the inn on the moor for a birthday meal the food was excellent the most disappointing thing was the wait for the food I ordered the steak pie which stated it would take 20 minutes but the meal took one hour to arrive. They do have a very good gin menu which we thoroughly enjoyed.

We have visited the Inn on the Moor before and again we really enjoyed the food and dining experience. The staff are very attentive and friendly service. The ham, eggs and chips were delicious as was the lasagne, followed by a fabulous sticky toffee pudding and lemon pot. Lovely!

Staying in the village for the weekend with the plan to have a drink and a meal at the Goathland Hotel (Aidensfield Arms) however it was closed and remained that way all weekend. We crossed the road and had our drinks and meals here on both evenings and very pleased we were. The odd thing is the facade which makes the venue look too modern for its moorland setting, no criticism intended purely a comment on its kerb appeal. Both evenings we managed to bag the last table available so they must be doing something right. Its more of a restaurant than a bar so given the chance we would have had a drink in the Goathland Hotel because of its association with ‘Heatbeat’ and eaten at the Inn on the Moor.

Lovely hotel & eating areas , the outside does not do it justice. Well stocked bar, reasonable prices. Good menu with specials on a daily basis, well served ,warm dining area. Liked the lounge area, dogs welcome & well catered for. Staff were friendly & efficient, would recommend.

Awesome food cannot rate this enough I’d give 10 if I could. Staff very helpful towards making you welcome.

We had heard good reports about the Inn on the Moor so the four of us were looking forward to dining there. The ambience was lovely with a roaring fire welcoming us. Sadly although we had booked our table for 7pm it was 8.20 before our food arrived. Three of us ordered the Chicken Balti which was completely tasteless, certainly no spice and no one would have recognised this as a curry. The naan bread was soft and felt wet. The fourth member of our group chose fish and chips which whilst not as poor as the curry left much to be desired. Hopefully the management will take on board our comments and maybe we’d try them again in the future.

We had two excellent meals in the Inn on the Moor and the service was great. The specials board had a great choice and the wine list was also very good. It is also dog friendly.

Whilst we didn’t stay here we dined here, they managed to fit us in on a busy Saturday night and were very accommodating

A very lovely atmosphere and the food is good. Decent sized portions and a good selection to chose from. Try the steak and ale pie. It's awesome. Even our fussy 15 year old asked to return so we ate in there three times during our week long stay at Goathlsnd.

Food choice is very good and plentiful, beautiful lounge and you must take photos of the harley displayed over the kitchen door

We were hoping for a table for two but could see that they were busy. We waited to ask at the bar and although the person behind the bar acknowledged us, they then gave their attention to someone else who'd arrived after us. Didn't feel at all welcome as a result and ate elsewhere where we felt most welcome.

It's not every hotel that has a custom bike over the kitchen door, but this one does.

Such a good find we went back for a second night.

Very friendly staff,good quality pub food. Easy walking distance of village. Nice clean, comfortable surroundings.

We were recommended the Inn by a local And the fact that they served evening meals from 6pm, a good time to eat after a long day out. The restaurant and bar is obviously newly refurbished to a high standard and is very welcoming. There are special board as well as a menu to chose from. You place your order at the bar giving your table number. The Server was absolutely delightful and checked to ensure that we were enjoying the meal. Presentation of the food was excellent and we will go back.

Dropped in after returning from Pickering on the steam train. Had a few drinks outside in the beer garden. We had booked a table in the bar for our evening meal but decided to bring it forward by an hour which was no trouble to the staff. Meals were excellent.
