Recently stayed for 3 nights whilst at a conference. All of the staff were incredibly welcoming and chatty, room (no.4) was clean, comfortable, spacious and homely. The Full Yorkshire Breakfast was the absolute star of the show, best I've had in years, and the location spot on for the town centre shops and bars and conference centre. Highly recommend staying here

Visited for a late lunch today and sat on the outside terrace. I think we got unlucky and ordered behind a table of about 15 people so the food took a little while to arrive, but when it did, oh my goodness. The BEST gluten free haddock, chips, and peas I’ve ever had. Just delicious. Lovely seating area in warm sunshine - a thoroughly nice time. We’ll be back.

This place is an absolute steal for the price. We had a wedding in Harrogate and booked the B&B here well in advance. The rooms were well equipped and cosy. Staff really friendly and helpful. And the breakfast, you pay £15 each easily, and it's included. Absolutely crackers. Some other chain hotels were nearly double the price. Stay here, support local business!

This is my visit to the restaurant. Got a nice first pint . Starter of bread and butter of the day took 24 minutes. A bit long as I was after 1300 and it was not busy. The butter of the day was wonderful with the bread having a nice flavor. The main of beef cheek delivery was not too bad after the starter. The beef melted in your mouth. So much flavor. The potatoes were very nice. The broccoli was luke warm. Good food for the most part. Service could be improved with telling you when you order how long the wait will be. Will return.

The staff are cheery and welcoming however the room we had.... Room 6 is to be avoided. I was helped to the room by the receptionist as my husband parked the car. He fell over the carpet that was not fitted to the floor in the doorway. The handle fell off the main window when I opened it. The bed was practically on the floor, about the height of a futon. No hooks at all in the bathroom to hang up towels and the shower heat controls did not work, the water was more of a spit than a flow. There was mold in the shower too. As there were no hooks the last occupant had left their towel on the back of the bedroom door for us to enjoy on our visit... We left the room on the first day for a straight 12 hours, upon our return the tea and water glasses were still on the chest of drawers next to the kettle. We had to go to the bar to exchange them for clean ones.... Breakfast was not bad and apparently it is due a refit in January. Well overdue! Excellent location and staff were cheery.

I feel conflicted about this review. The location and staff are great, and the food is fantastic (truly fantastic). The rooms, however, are pretty tired. Our shower curtain was half torn off, and it just felt our room was generally needing an update. Another problem is they give you one set of keys per room. Should be fine, but you're required to use the keys to access security doors on your way up. Very hard to have 2 people doing separate activities.

Had a nice stay at this place but do be warned that there aren't any lifts/elevators. The room was large, lovely, and there was a kitchen. My room didn't have a proper shower - there was a standalone clawfoot tub with a shower attachment which was not in a washroom. It wasn't an issue for me but would definitely be challenging for folks with accessibility issues. There's also no lobby for the inn but there is a restaurant. Breakfast is included and delicious. They'll also hold your baggage for you after checkout. All in all it's a nice place with a great location but is a bit pricey IMHO.

The Best Hotel I Never Stayed At.. Due to a booking disaster on BookingDotCom, we turned up for a two night stay a year early.. The woman in charge of the accommodation side of the operation took it all in her stride and stepped up to the mark like a champ. Sat us down with a coffee, cancelled the booking, sorted the refund, and found us an alternative room in a nearby hotel (which is very nice). Can't say a word about the actual accommodation at The Inn, but the customer service is second to none. Will definitely be staying there during a future jaunt to Harrogate.

We arrived to find all of the 8 parking spaces taken, but we received a warm welcome and were told to go and park in the nearby multi storey car park. The room ok, but there was no toilet roll holder and the door to our room was flimsy. The fire/security doors as you rise the stairs are pointless as a fire or burglar could simply climb over the bannister. The first morning at breakfast, we placed our order but the orange juice did not arrive until 37 minutes later. Our breakfast arrived 47 minutes later and our coffee 55 minutes later. The third time I asked where the orange juice was, I got a curt and rude reply. The next morning was better, only 29 minutes before our breakfast arrived (the orange juice being delivered in just minutes. Quality of the breakfast however, on both occasions, was very good. Shame they can't cook it quicker.

One of the worst Sunday Roasts I have had. Firstly, the table we were sat at was awkwardly placed and we were next to eachother instead of facing each other. My booking was at 2:30 and we only received the food at 3:10. We were only able to order from the mothers day menu which i was not made aware of before hand otherwise i would have gone somewhere else! My diet pepsi was flat. The food was very bad. The ‘vegan wellington’ had 3 undercooked potatoes, some raw and inedible leek and a handful of carrots. The wellington itself was nice. But for £15 this is not at all worth it! My sister got the beef and could not eat half of it because it was so tough and couldn’t cut into it. The cauliflower cheese, steamed veg and swede mash had 0 flavour and was very watery. The staff were lovely and the environment was nice but i can not recommend the sunday roast here at all.

The mashed potato was quite watery and lacking in any flavour, what small amount there was of it. Two small slices of roast carrot plus a few small onions was rather poor for the veg. At £19, very expensive for what it was. Won't be visiting again. Many better restaurants providing better quality and value for money.

• Really lovely staff at check-in (youngish girl) • Nice place at the price - bar/restaurant serving proper food • centrally located w/ on-site free parking (for guests) • Breakfast itself was pretty good, 8/10 Really wanted to give 4-5 stars, but the service at breakfast was honestly abject. We were trying to work out if it was is part of the experience; proper Yorkshire no-none-sense type service or if the older man just didn’t like us - nope, he was like that with everyone. Actually just out and out rude. Picture, The Grumpy Old Men, from, The Fast Show, put into a hospitality role… you’re not far off! • asked for butter after receiving three of the small packets for four full rounds of toast… touches plate in inspection, “oh I see, you’ve used it all” in a condescending, passive-aggressive tone. If he’d tutted loudly, rolled eyes, big head flick/tilt, turned on the spot and marched off it wouldn’t have been out of place • as guests, asked for a coffee in the morn, “You’ve got coffee facilities in the room”… True: kettle, UHT pots, etc. Tbf, a decent enough version, with water and biscuits - but not a nice “made” coffee. • asked politely if he had a pen (to write a birthday card). No reply, just disappeared. Came back with a pen two mins later. Appreciated, but words are useful to let people know you haven’t stormed off, in a huff, as the energy would suggest. • my partner still said thank you when leaving breakfast, no reply. Social skills clearly void here. Fought of the urge to shout “thank you”. Regardless of price, from £20-£800 - you should not have the start of your day ruined when you are on a break by “front of house” at breakfast. The worst bit of recruitment since Rafa Benitez was appointed Everton manager…

Situated close to the main high street close to other restaurants. Great undercover but open seating outside which gets the full sun in the afternoon and early evening. Beautiful decor inside with twinkling fairy lights. Food was tasty although a little on the small side. We all had the 3 small plates for £18 but I needed a dessert as I was still hungry. A few vegetarian and vegan dishes on the small dishes menu but very few vegetarian dishes on the main course menu, not even cheese and onion pie on the classic menu, shame.

Popped in whilst looking for a quick lunch. Very unusual setting for a tea room but works well with about 10 tables set up between the pews & the altar. The pews act as an overflow area if all tables are taken but we arrived as one was being vacated. Very friendly staff, a relaxing atmosphere and excellent value for money. Menu is limited to a choice of rolls, soup and a tempting range of homemade cakes & scones. Rolls could have improved if pickle, mustard or mayonnaise had been offered but the cakes & scones made up for this as they were very nice. The church itself is a delightful building and worth a visit in it’s own right. An interesting alternative lunch option.

Stumbled on this little eatery while visiting Knaresborough on a Sunday lunch time. We went in to get maybe a sandwich and thought it wasn’t going to be great to be honest but ended up having a cooked lunch and it was so good! The place was busy and you could tell they were locals as they were chatting across to each other. We looked at the menu and decided to have have a cooked meal. I ordered pie chips and peas and my husband a burger with chips salad and coleslaw and a pot of tea. You could actually get a 3 course Sunday lunch for £14.50! When mine came there were no peas but another bowl soon arrived full of fresh vegetables and a big jug of gravy. Food was really good the staff were lovely. The lady said that as she had been cooking Sunday lunches she gave me some of the veg. We were thoroughly impressed and wouldn’t hesitate to visit again. Great food and great value for money! Definitely worth trying!

Good range of dishes from small to large. Panini was very good! Salad served with it. Crisps come with sandwiches too! Very good range of cakes too!

I've been going to this chippy for the last year and was the best on knaresborough, I visted for my lunch at work more than I'd like to admit. In the last few months it's gone from bad to worse, half cooked chips, over cooked scallops, stale bread cakes I could go on. On today's visit I saw cooked chips being put back into the fryer to re heat. The guy servings attitude when I asked if they were fresh was not the best when I told him the quality had dropped massively in recent months. The girls who usually work their are great and can't do enough. The new owners need to go back to their old procedures and practices. Please don't let this become another chippy that used to be great. I've wasted £100+ in the last few months hoping it was going to improve
