My wife and I went for lunch today and it was excellent, both food and service. The lunch set menu (2 courses) was £28 and we were given a couple of lovely appetisers and the choice of starters and mains were great. Cheese souffle and Sea bass were the highlights. Ellie looked after us and made the whole experience complete. Well done all. We will be back

Excellent 3 course meal including Sunday roast Two cobs of homemade bread served (with butter and a nice truffle-y butter - couldn't remember exactly what it was but it was very nice) Starters - crab & ham hock Main - roast pork & roast beef Desserts - blackberry and apple crumble & sticky banoffee pudding All the food was A*, if you want a really nice, high quality meal, this is a great place to go It would be nice to have a little more meat with the roast (especially on the pork dish) but was still ample and didn't take anything away from the meal A really lovely atmosphere and friendly staff too Seems to be the best place in the area Things to note: There is a service charge (about 10%) Can be quite hard to find anywhere to park when busy (there is a car park but is small) so we parked on the side of the road by a field, so keep in mind you might have to park elsewhere

Stayed one night for our anniversary. Lovely room but wafer thin walls , so thin you could almost hear the conversation of the neighbours in the next room. Lovely evening meal if a little pricey. We had room 1 across the courtyard.

Hubby and I were staying in Sea Palling and this place was recommended to us. It IS a dog friendly place - you just have to sit outside but the rattan garden furniture is comfortable and there is a large patio umbrella. It was warm but I'm sure on cooler evenings, there would be patio heaters as well. We enjoyed a very pleasant, beautifully cooked, evening meal accompanied by our Golden Retriever and it was lovely. The staff were friendly and attentive and it was a lovely evening.

We did the 7 course tasting menu with the wine flight. We were really impressed with all of the courses and the amount of food. The wine flight was also very generous measures and good wine. The service was outstanding. A really laid back vibe but the timings were spot on. Would definitely go back when next in the area.

Ingham Swan is my first choice for a special night out, the food is fantastic and the menu du jour is only £34 for three courses of fabulous food (plus some complimentary treats). On Friday night the young staff were very friendly and helpful, describing courses and recommending wine and the atmosphere was so nice. I had a great night, food was out of this world with lots of colours, textures and tastes and I thought prices were unbelievable for what we got. Please don't stop what you are doing!

We came here for our first wedding anniversary dinner. We really loved: - the bread, so delicious! - the veloute soupy thing, topped with the best pesto - the smoked salmon and crab was divine and way more interesting than smoked salmon usually is - the polenta was also delicious and unusual - the dessert which our waitress recommended when asked was also superb and really interesting - the truffle fries were also amazing, crispy and fluffy - the lovely, kind and unpretentious service - how they gave us a couple chocolates for our anniversary - thank you! The mains were probably our least favourite. They weren’t bad, but less interesting and I found the potatoes with the sea bass really undercooked. Not in a way they were raw, but they just tasted really hard and lacked any flavour. The sea bass was still really well cooked. We got the du jour menu and for the price it was insanely good value. A lot of other diners probably spent a lot of more money than us on a la carte on the full tasting menu but the service for us was just as good. Really appreciate them presenting a more reasonably priced option so we could celebrate our anniversary with such interesting and delicious food!

What amazing food and service. Although not a dog friendly place. We sat outside with the dog and decided to just grab some food for the smaller menu. Although we were outside and eating from the smaller menu we were treated like we had just spent hundreds. The service was impeccable, kind, friendly and warm and staff treated us both with such respect and professionalism. We had the soup, hummus and the truffle and Parmesan chips. They were absolutely delicious!!! We will certainly be revisiting without the dog next time and eating from the main meau. Thank you for a lovely evening

So time for what i believe is an honest review from someone who has travelled around the globe and dined in many different restaurants. So lets start, the Ingham Swan is located in a lovely part of Norfolk and the building & interior is well presented and comfortable. The staff are all well presented & very polite and on hand to offer advice on the various dishes on offer. We went with close friends on a Sunday to the swan as it was recommended by a few of our other friends as a place to try so we did. The menu is well laid out with plenty of choices and an option of a two or three course menu on a Sunday. I myself opted for the Sea Bass starter which was cooked to perfection and well garnished. For Mains i opted for the battered cod & chips which again was cooked to perfection, and for desert i had the Bakewell tart, and again this was excellent. Now for the disappointing part of the experience. The starter of Sea Bass i had was tiny & by tiny i mean two mouthfuls and it was gone, i mean i am not wanting a massive starter but this was more of a token starter. Moving onto the mains and here was the real disappointment the Battered cod piece was so small even our friends were shocked, roughly measuring 2" x 4" on the plate. Now having had battered cod at a very well known TV chefs restaurant in central London and many other restaurants around the UK i was left wondering what had happened to the rest of my Cod ??, now don't get me wrong the flavour & quality was excellent but when you are paying a premium you kind of expect a good amount on your plate, marry this with a very small pot of salad that had about 4 leaves of rocket in & another pot of Charred Lemon, Parsley Aioli the saving grace was the Koffmann Fries which again were very tasty. The desert was actually quite a generous size and again was very tasty. The three course menu is £38 and do i think it was value, sadly no. Again don't get me wrong the standard & quality of the food is great but when you are paying £50 a head (inc a round of drinks) you kind of expect to leave satisfied & full and unfortunately none of us were. Do i expect massive plates full of food hanging over the edge and piles of food falling onto the table, no but i do expect value for money. Its a shame as the food is great along with the service and feel of the restaurant but it just wouldn't be a place i would rush back to especially when hungry.

We booked dinner at this restaurant as it had been highly recommended to us. We decided to book bnb as this was for a birthday. The dinner was absolutely outstanding. We ordered from the menu d'jour and the quality of the food, the balance of flavours was exquisite. 3 courses for £34 with a taste sensation such as this, amazing value. Staff also lovely, a beautiful birthday meal. Highly recommend. However, sadly not the same experience for the bnb side of the experience. Nice enough room. We paid £140 on a special deal, but usually £200. The room was a fair size but had only one small window which opens onto the walkway to the next room. It was very stuffy so my husband struggled to sleep. The bathroom was a little tired with some black grouting in the shower. Breakfast was the biggest disappointment- cold fried eggs, half a mushroom, half a tomato in the fried breakfast. Toast totally cold. Unappetising. Such a shame

We went with high hopes having not been since before covid. We were welcomed warmly and shown to a nice table. The menu is a bit confusing with a tasting menu, a la carte and a menu de jour tucked away at the back of the booklet. The staff did not explain the menu, we had to work it out for ourselves. The hummus in the amuse bouche was very bland. My husband enjoyed his crab starter and his cod main course. I didn’t have a starter and chose the vegetarian cauliflower dish as my main course (£28) - it was horrible. Dry, spiky, burnt and flavourless. I was urged to choose my dessert when ordering my main course and felt rushed into ordering the peach soufflé. It was very sugary and not particularly delicious. We had a gin and tonic each and a bottle of muscadet. Service was included and our total bill was £160. We felt we had wasted £100 as we could have had a tasty meal and drinks in a local pub for £60. We regularly eat in reputable restaurants in other parts of the country so we’re used to contemporary prices but we felt this just wasn’t worth it.

This was our first time at the Ingham Swan, greeted with a friendly smile from a member of the staff, went for Sunday lunch, menu was varied, we both had the beef which had a £6 supplement, after our main meal was brought to the table we then had to wait for the bowl of veg, therefore by the time we had finished our main meal it was cold, desserts were OK, disappointed charging £5 for a cappuccino served in a small cup. We thought the meal was expensive for what we had.

We live locally and had heard how good the Ingham Swan is, so to celebrate birthdays and an anniversary we booked the taster meal. We have been lucky enough to travel extensively and eaten in some really good restaurants so were looking forward to trying the variety here. On arrival the staff were very welcoming without being gushing or false, but seemed genuinely pleased to be working. They served each beautifully prepared dish with a brief explanation of what we were about to eat and then left us to enjoy each course. The timing between courses was excellent too with no undue waiting but also no rush to move to the next course. Ok, so the food, what can i tell you? As mentioned previously we have eaten at other good restaurants so are not new to fine dining. I can tell you that every dish was beautifully presented, but more importantly cooked to perfection with just the right amount of flavouring to really get the tastebuds savouring every mouthful. Every course was fantastic and the flow from start to finish built on the previous dishes. Bottom line, the entire evening was one of life's real pleasures that we will remember for a long time and i can't fault a single aspect. I would encourage anyone to go and enjoy a meal in a lovely environment with genuine happy staff.

If you are looking for something special then this is the place. You will not be disappointed. We pre-booked for a Sunday evening and the venue was comfortable without being overly busy. A warm welcome was offered as soon as we arrived, initially by one of the locals helping my wife and I down the step into the bar area. We had already chosen the Taster Menu...around 7 courses of brilliance from the kitchen. Each one perfectly introduced by Liv. Additionally, Holly attended to our drinks and replacement cutlery. The staff were superb and not intrusive. Each course was delicious...especially the fillet of beef and the scallops. My wife avoided shellfish with a perfectly prepared fillet of Sea Bass. A bottle of Australian Shiraz topped the meal off nicely. Charlie delivered some complimentary chocs (my birthday) and a bunch of daffs for Mothers Day... a nice touch. We didn't stay overnight this time around but we hope to soon. Wonderful food, great place and superb staff.

We chose the menu du jour, we had two courses for a bargain 23 pounds each plus sweets off the main menu. We started with a complimentary small bowl of soup, 3 of us enjoyed the mackerel starter whilst the fourth of us the beef starter. Two of us then selected the beef whilst the other two the sea bass. When it came to our bill it was ridiculously inaccurate, after an embarrassing conversation - with my husband having to produce bank statements on his phone; it was settled. We have been to the Swan many times. On a recent visit, as always, the food was stunning. However. The service was extremely disappointing. We arrived and booked in, sat down with a drink and were forgotten about. After nearly an hour went and asked if we had a table yet. The restaurant was far from full. Two young ladies serving 4 tables and they were too busy chatting to do their job properly. The standard way below that required for your chain of restaurants and the prices paid. I understand that the manageress left a few weeks ago. The standards have certainly dropped as a result.

It was the right choice for us to go for a downstairs, courtyard room. The ceilings were a bit low, the eaves would have been really low. The room was across from the pub. The ceiling height and shower were fine. Standing up to put clothes on we’d (5 foot 10 and 6 foot) touch the ceiling when our hands went over our head. The car park is small with no reserved spaces for those staying. You get juice, tea or coffee and croissants at breakfast and then your choice. All staff were friendly, whatever the request.

We had a great time at the Ingham Swan. We came for the overnight stay and specifically the 7 course tasting menu which is included in the package. It's some of the best food we've eaten in such a long time and worthy of a Michellin Star. All was superb- amazing ingredients, imaginatively combined without being mucked around with too much-perfect! Portions were spot on. The room we stayed in (5) was round the corner from the pub - functional, cozy, warm and a comfy bed. Breakfast was also good. Would definitely recommend the package, especially in the winter months when the rate is very reasonable. All the staff were very helpful and kind, the service was pitched perfectly. We walked from the pub the 3 miles to Sea Palling- an odd but interesting place on the coast with a few caravan parks, a cafe with amusment arcade and a long sandy beach with sea defences. We came back a longer route along the Hickling road via Calthorpe - a quieter route with less traffic.

The Swan is a very comfortable place to stay and is justly proud of its restaurant, the food there is very good. The accommodation is in a converted block adjacent to the main bar and restaurant building. Our room was very comfortable and sleep came easily to us. Across the very adequate car park stands Immingham Church, an impressive building whose history dates back to the 1300s. Our prime objective for staying there was it's proximity to Horsey Gap, an area well known by those who enjoy watching the local seals who use the beach for resting on Inbetween fishing trips. Although we did not use it, there is comfortable access to areas of the Norfolk Broads from The Swan

Been meaning to visit here for several months and decided to have a Sunday evening meal out. Opted for the Du Jour menu. Lovely pre starter of celeriac velouté with puffed wild rice. Starters were also well presented. Beetroot tar tar is what I chose which was very light and refreshing. My lady had beef medallions which were described as excellent. Mains, we both had rib eye of beef which was tender and minimal fat which is always a plus. Good size rib eye too. Dessert we both partook of the creme brulee with raspberry gel, coffee ice cream and white chocolate snow. Both described it as the standout point of the meal. Fantastic dessert. The restaurant itself is located beautifully in the middle of nowhere and has ample parking. We are planning to book again for the overnight stay with taster menu. Update Jan 2024, stayed here for the night and had the taster menu. All I can say is, perfection. Simply a delight to visit and eat here.

We eat at the Ingham Swan roughly once a month and have never been disappointed. In our experience the food and service are of a consistently high standard. The food is beautifully presented and they manage to get really good flavours into each dish. You can spend a lot of money if you go a la carte, but with the same quality and portion size, the fixed price 3 course menu at £32 is amazing value. Coming from London I know that nothing there would come close at that price. We have just returned from having the Christmas taster menu for lunch with wine flight. Again, superb service and an excellent meal equal to any we have eaten in more expensive and starry restaurants.

Update on my review of 9 months ago. Firstly I still love this restaurant but I visited this week on a trip back to Norfolk and was a little disappointed. I booked 6.30pm and felt that we were being rushed along. (I'm aware there is a second sitting) however I want to savour my food and don't want the next course presented so quickly. In addition the Pork dish was certainly not up to the usual standard ...rather dry & a bit tough. The waiting staff were very good and we appreciated the complimentary drink. Every time I visit my family in Norfolk I visit the Ingham Swan. I love the food and the atmosphere. I live in France and enjoy coming to the UK to experience great dining here. I will return but felt that the visit this week was not quite up to par!

My partner and I visited the Ingham Swan for a meal to celebrate a birthday after wanting to go for a while and hearing good things. The building itself is lovely and the staff were really attentive and couldn't have been better. Unfortunately, for the price, the food was a little underwhelming and, a bit like when we visited the sister pub The Wildebeest, I left slightly disappointed and puzzled by the price of the menu when compared to similar restaurants. It felt like I paid a premium for the reputation of the place rather than the quality of the food.

We stayed for a couple of nights and had dinner one evening and breakfasts on two mornings. We loved it - all our meals were first class, served by helpful and friendly staff. Accommodation was lovely too - rustic but with modern facilities. The location is great for the Norfolk coast. We will definitely be returning! Thank you to all at the Ingham Swan.

I booked an overnight stay with Taster Menu included for my parents, to celebrate my Dad's 70th birthday. Upon their return home they couldn't praise their experience highly enough. They said that all the staff were amazingly friendly and helpful and that the accomodation was welcoming and comfortable. As for the food, they said it was some of the best they'd ever tasted. Each course was beautifully presented and faultless. I requested the cheese course and wine flight be added at the time of booking which proved to be a welcome addition as they both agreed that the chosen wines complimented the food perfectly. The scrummy breakfast they enjoyed in the restaurant the following morning finished off what they described as a fantastic experience and they said they can't wait to return. On my behalf a massive THANKYOU to everyone at the Ingham Swan for making their experience and my Dad's birthday so memorable.

Really enjoyable Sunday lunch at the Ingham Swan. We were lucky to get a table as it was very busy. It’s a lovely refurbished old country pub with nice decor. The menu was really interesting with lots of options I’d have happily tried. Every dish was beautifully presented and very tasty. Service was nice. Only grumble was charged £5 for a coffee which is a bit excessive.

We book Sunday lunch here, whilst touring for a weekend on a motorcycle, the weather turned, and we headed for the Ingham Swan early, the welcome was warm and we were invited to sit in a snug, waiting area with a drink.m whilst the team did their best to seat us early, which they did! The food was excellent, as was the service, and we were so impressed. We’ve booked again for Sunday lunch and an overnight stay on a dinner bed and breakfast package, highly recommended

There are a few restaurant/pubs just south of Norwich. The Ingham Swan, now re-named the Wildebeast is actually nowhere near the village of Ingham (East of Norwich) The Wildebeast is in the village of Stoke Holy across which is about 3.5 miles south of Norwich. We visited the Wildebeast for an evening meal. We were welcomed by Harry who was engaging and welcoming. The selection of ales was limited but what was on offer was a good amber ale. The wine list was excellent and ranged from extremely good and at the high end of the price range. The wines at the lower end were also extremely good. The wines that were on offer by the glass were limited in number, but did include perfectly good offerings. The food was faultless. A very high standard. The a la carte offerings were on the slightly expensive side, but the choice of meals also included a much more economic set meal offering that still included choices. We ordered one a la carte and one set menu, and both were of an extremely high standard. The service was nothing less than exemplary from Harry and Sarah. Engaging, knowledgeable, friendly, but also with a balanced discretion to engage and withdraw as appropriate. This is not a cheap option to eat here, but as the saying goes, 'you pays your money, and takes your choice.' This will not disappoint, and in the scheme of fine dining, this is very fairly priced. The ambiance varies according to where you might be seated. Some like sufficient light to see their food well, others prefer more subdued lighting. Both are on offer, but be sure you choose your seating carefully according to your preference. Will definitely return.

We both had a taster menu and all course did hit the mark. We loved each and every course. Staff were lovely and attentive. The presentation was also top marks. It was well worth a visit and a round trip taxi ride from Ludham. We highly recommended

Absolutely loved our lunch at The Ingham Swan. We had the Menu du Jour and it was superb and beautifully cooked and presented by the chefs. Service was amazing too and staff couldn't be more helpful despite us being late due to coming a long way. We sat out in the sun as we were on holiday. We will return. Thank you.

We travelled four hours from Berkshire to stay here to celebrate our anniversary. It was worth it, but the need to travel so far just highlights how rare in the UK places like this are. Even very good hotels nowadays have really boring menus, and anything a bit imaginative is often way overpriced and booked up months in advance. In addition many places will only accept two - night bookings over the weekend. The Swan has a tasting menu for £85, with a very reasonably priced wine flight at £45. This includes a stand out local fizz which was delicious. Each course was superb, imaginative without being pretentious and beautifully executed. Service is good, a bit slow to start with but we did arrive early at a busy time. Other reviewers have commented about grumpy staff but we found everyone to be delightful. We had room No 3 which was nicely decorated but very small. As I say we were particularly glad not to have to book two nights, especially as this was a bank holiday weekend. Breakfast was very good too. So all in all very highly recommended, and worth our four hour each way trip.

We were excited for a Family Birthday Celebration return visit. Guinea foul portion very mean for £34, but tasted fine. Were not offered a drink until halfway through our meal. Crab gave our Mum food poisoning, which sadly made a very rough night for her. She rang the staff to let them know but no one cared, sadly spoiling the occassion. Parking inadequate. Worst of all though was that we were not told at the time of booking that the table had a second sitting and we were hurried away. We were glad to leave which is a shame as limited places to eat locally and we are unlikely to hurry back here. Suggest Farmyard in Norwich for a better experience.

Left hungry and disappointed after we had the £85 7 course tasting menu last night. Some of the food was really tasty. The lamb main was delicious, the strawberry pre dessert, the cucumber dish too. However, although it’s a tasting menu and you don’t expect a full sized plate of food, some of the dishes were very small. The chicken wing dish and fish course were tiny. The problem came at the end when our dessert (white peach soufflé) which was actually a decent size really didn’t taste of anything. The soufflé tasted of egg, the ice cream had melted but tasted of nothing and the compote was heavy and very sweet. Neither of us ate it. Nobody asked if there was a problem when they picked up two plates that hadn’t been touched. I got the bill and had to walk around to the bar to pay. We explained how we felt, and although the waitress apologised to a degree, we found her rude and arrogant. So, we left hungry and underwhelmed. Disappointing as it was a special occasion for us (not that anyone asked or cared).

We had a lovely stay here this weekend. The staff were so lovely and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Particular shout out to the manager Isabella who looked after us so well. The room was beautifully decorated and despite being cosy up in the loft space, it was everything we needed. The breakfasts were lovely and the chef was very accommodating to my vegan diet. Highly recommend.

This Bistro came well recommended, as we were staying at Hoorayhenrys B&B in Sheringham. We were fortunate and managed to bag a table for 6pm and the whole experience was enjoyable and memorable. Nothing seemed too much trouble for Holly our waitress. I ordered the sirloin and the wife the chicken. Both meals were cooked to our liking, hot and very good quality. Could not fault the service, hospitality and quality of the food. Would certainly recommend giving this place a visit. You’ll not be disappointed I’m sure.

Delicious scone/jam/cream, and deeply tasty coffee. Best cappuccino I have had for some time. Good GF awareness but portions of these, although delicious (plum and apple tart) seemed quite small for not cheap prices.

Incredible service as always and the mussels were to die for, great value for money and always a brilliant atmosphere. One of, if not THE best place to eat on the coast. Don't bother with anywhere else in Weybourne!
