We have been getting takeaways from India Royal for several years and have never been disappointed. Generous portions. Lovely tasty food. Friendly staff. Great meal for the three of us this evening.

We have had a delivery from there probably 4 times since moving to this area, their always friendly on the phone, the guy who delivered has always been super friendly too, he rang when he couldn’t find us, the time before last their portion size we noticed had shrunk especially the chicken in the curry, we decided to give them one last order sadly wish we hadn’t, I don’t know if they have changed their chef ? the sauce in the curry’s wasn’t very tasty just hot, the chicken portion size was minuscule worst than before, hardly any prawns in the biriyani either. We was very disappointed !! Value for money not good..

Utterly disappointing, used this takeaway multiple times in the past. Tonight’s meal was the worst one, rang to tell them only to be told we have to wait and see if someone else complains about the food until they do something. Very unprofessional in my eyes and I shall not be returning my custom anymore.

We got a delivery and the food that was contained really well. Usually you get it delivered and it’s a swamp on the bottom of the bag and everything is contaminated within. The Indian Royal served a clean delivery and the food was superb. I definitely will be ordering again.

Staff really friendly, service good, the food was very tasty. We have since had a takeaway too, the fella that delivered it was very nice he rang as couldn’t find us.. it’s the 1 st Indian we have found local that we really like as new to the area..

It's our favourite curry takeaway in Faversham. They are friendly and will adjust your order to your requests also they don't keep you waiting too long, they run a very good delivery service as well.

Sadly this restaurant has been closed since 2020.

We had the worst takeaway since moving to Faversham 7 years ago. A very long wait for delivery - which they told us about when we ordered. There was so much oil that had leaked out of the containers it was sloshing about in the bottom of the bag There was still so much oil still on top of the food in the containers that I had to spoon it off. The “Royal special chicken” starter was awful - 4 very dry pieces of chicken tikka encased in a huge amount of breadcrumbs - tasteless. Bhindi bhajee was slimy. Lamb madras and prawn pathia tasted just OK but were completely spoilt by the amount of oil. Won’t be ordering again.

India Royal has been in business for years and has always been first class. Just had our end of term takeaway and were not disappointed. Generous portions. Really tasty. And the staff are lovely. Hope they can open the restaurant again soon.

Great staff, fine meal and after 100's of them (both take away and eat in pre-COVID) across decades I've had cause to comment negatively twice - once was a cold dish in a takeaway and once a slightly wrong order. I was once told, in business, it isn't how you're treated when everything goes right, its how you're looked after on the odd occasion something goes wrong - law of averages something would go wrong, and they dealt with that situation professionally. Nothing to say but good ...

I had the royal biriani. The meat was full of grisel, it was chewy and the dish was greasy.

It is not safe to collect food from these premises. There are no policies in place to ensure social distancing.

Yuck. Everything covered in oil as £50 worth of food squashed into one bag then all the bread in another?“Prawn puree” starter was lava bread soaked in greasy oil with disguised prawn bhuna underneath and the prawns were the smallest I’d ever seen with the dish half empty? (Photo supplied)I ordered prawn puree for starter and prawn bhuna for main and they were the EXACT same dish just one had a bit of oily greasy lava bread on top? Burnt inedible naans. Just a mess really. £50 for a very disappointing curry. I rung to tell them and he offered to send me “larger dishes next time” ? and said that’s how the puree comes. No acknowledgement that it’s bad they sold me two dishes exactly the same with different names and one with a bit of lava bread on top. We just went round and round in circles.Anyway plenty of other curry houses to choose from in the future so never mind.Pictures speak for themselves.

Simply the best. Fantastic food. I live in Whitstable and none of the restaurants compare. India Royal has been around a long time now and and they never fail to produce quality food. Recommend.

Ordered food from here and I don’t think any of our dishes had something good to say about them. The delivery time was average (30mins-40). The chicken madras was so oily and hardly had any actual taste to it. Both of the mushroom and pilau rices was just plain and the mushroom one tasted like it had been shop bought and microwaved. The korma was about the only thing that got eaten and the poppadoms and mango chutney was just average. Really not impressed

Best Indian food and worth the travel from Herne Bay nowhere else is as good

OMG lamb jelfrazi, vegetable rice, garlic nan, absolutely fantastic as always, personally i will not use anyone else but these guys..

Saturday night takeaway for four. Very mixed. 2 Chicken tikka baltis, 1 bhuna and a chicken tikka masala. 2 Naan, 1 sag aloo, Bombay potato, 1 tarka dall. 3 plain rice. £66.The consensus (3 out of 4 of us) this was a pretty poor takeaway. The overriding issue was an excess of oil in the main dishes swimming on top of the food. The tarka dall was almost soup like and very bland. My wife said it's the worst takeaway indian she has had from Faversham (she had the Bhuna) (4 outlets to choose from) Bombay potato and sag aloo OK. 1 of us thought the Balti was OK once the oil had been drained away. We will not order again from here.

I have been overseas for a few years and this used to be my regular. It was if I had never been away, they knew what dish I wanted and did not disappoint. I have tried to make my own phaal and I thought I had cracked it until I tasted theirs. Hot, spicy delicious. Their onion Bhajis and Keema naan are excellent. Worth a visit if in Faversham

Food is lovely. However the service is very lacking. Male staff are not interested in their customers at all. Saturday night meal and the restaurant customers are having to wait a long time for food as the takeaway orders appear to be their highest priority! Lovely lady waitress who is running around trying to make sure everyone is happy. Needs some customer service and time management improvement.

We came here for dinner and it was absolutely delicious.The sauces for the papadums were fresh and tasty.We tried the tandoori chicken as a starter which was really good.As main I had a Naga Curry which was as hot as described, absolutely great.My friend had a butter chicken, very creamy and tasty. the staff was very helpful and friendly.we will come back.

We were spending the weekend away, staying in a hotel down the road, and following reviews on Tripadvisor, decided to visit the Indian Royal. It was a Friday evening on 13th September. We rang at 7:50pm to book a table for 8:30pm, and they were able to fit us in, even though it was such short notice. When we arrived we were welcomed at the door, and then shown to our seats. I have to say that they had a long menu, with something for everyone I would imagine. I have to say my wife and I had a wonderful meal. I had the Lamb Peshwari, a mild curry, but it was flavoursome and combined with the coconut rice was lovely. The house red wine was very good too. Overall, good, friendly, service and a very tasty meal.

I asked for my starter and mains to be vindaloo plus hot. NO chance, very mild. Really disappointing heat wise. Taste was ok, but overall a waste of money. Avoid!

We have been using India Royal since it first opened years ago. It is consistently good for dining in and takeaways. Staff are lovely. Good selection of great tasting food. Latest visit to dine in did not disappoint.

Curry was quality, portions were a great size and everything came out hot. Had the meat thali so got a little but of everything.

I like this restaurant, the food is good and the staff are very nice. The building has a bit of history to it and the dining areas are separated up, you might get a quiet corner to yourself if you avoid the busy times. The minty chicken is different if you are looking for a a new taste sensation

Great place to eat also very nice customer service. Food may not always come out when you want due to it being such a busy place during weekends.

Despite ditching the banquet night some time ago this has not stopped us from coming here as our favourite curry house - my favourite dishes - prawn puree, naga chicken, saag channa rice and keema naan are not bettered anywhere in town - also the house wine is under a tenner a bottle !!! What is there not to like

I ordered as I left Badlesmere.I was told my order would be ready in 30mins.I arrived ten minutes later and it was ready. Perfect fantastic service.Chicken Dansak was excellent. The kema nan did not have more than one mouthful of mince.!.What happened there?

What a great Indian, I go about 3 or 4 times a year, and I always get a warm welcome and a hotter curry. Recent new menu has added some more variety and interest to their already superb range. Unlike many Indians these days, portions are staying large and prices very reasonable. I also like cloth tablecloths!! Great food guys.

If you are visiting faversham anytime and you fancy a curry I recommend visiting the India Royal restaurant 16 east street ME13 8AD very friendly staff and the best curry I ever had.

This will always be my favourite Indian in kent I moved away from faverhsam but still visit when I can great food and great staff.

Still is the best Indian around for miles and I’ve eaten in a few . The staff are amazing too and will always accommodate if there’s somthing you want that’s not on the menu .

Well....the food was of good quality however they had missed one of the main dishes, of quite a large order, which is understandable that mistakes are made but to be belittled on the phone and insist I never ordered it (essentially called me a liar even though I read the whole order from a list) . I have never received such bad customer service in my life and find it quite astonishing that I had even paid for it! This is not the first time it has happened! Will not be ordering from them again!

Last year I left a review for this restaurant and couldn’t praise it enough. Unfortunately since the last review my thoughts have changed. Although the food is still good the prices have increased so much! Now you have to pay separately for popadoms and dips and the prices have increased at a ridiculous amount! I understand a small increase but the curry I order for my daughters has increased considerably as have other dishes plus it used to be a discount on collections but that has now changed to cash only. For a family of 4 our take away came to £40 and as this is for only three curries as my daughters share, this is now a luxury treat and not a Friday night dinner!

In the battle for the best Indian restaurant in the Faversham/Canterbury area, The India Royal is right up there. Obviously, this is mostly subjective and very much a matter of personal tast. However, taking a more objective view, I would suggest that the menu is possibly more authentic than most with quite a few non-Anglicised dishes which are worth a try. Heat was rather dumbed down in that garlic chilli dish I had as a main really could have done with a bit more heat. If I order a chilli dish, I expect it to be reasonably hot as advertised, but it was served at a medium heat that, while not so much that a complaint was warranted, it was maybe over-cautious.

This is the worst curry I have had in a long long time VERY watery food &luke warm and havent changed thier price increase on thier web site which changed our bill from £62 to £76 .. safe to say we won't be eating from thier again .

Nice looking restaurant. Modern with some original features from the old building. Nice a spacious. Very clean. Staff were friendly and polite. The food was very reasonably priced and tasted good. Maybe a little bit greasy on one of the mains and the keema naan. But all went down a treat. Would definately visit again. We had - Poppodoms for starter 4x beers (pints) 2x keema naan Bombay aloo Chicken tikka danshak with rice King prawn tikka jalfrezi All for £55! And we took some home.

Venido aquí durante los últimos 20 años, y me decepcionó que ido cuesta abajo, con comida y servicio. Había un grupo de 30, así que no nos dieron ninguna atención. No, todo está bien para usted? " o "algo más? ". Incluso tenía yo ir al bar para conseguir nuestras propias bebidas! ! Nuestro camarero sólo quería decirnos qué estaba sucediendo con el reserva de grupo que tenían. Lo mucho que pagamos y lo que recibimos, la comida estaba bien, pero no es el mejor que hemos tenido. Sag Aloo era simplemente patatas tirado un poco de espinacas. No hay especias o sabores. Era simplemente una comida a mediados de la semana, pero como tenemos una elección en Faversham, no habrá necesidad de volver en una prisa.

Went here for dinner whilst visiting family in Faversham and discovered literally the best Indian we've ever ever eaten at. Everything was just delicious, owner is great, really wish we had left with some recipes.

We went to this restaurant last night and what a find......great food, the best we have come across in East Kent area.

Ordered a takeaway meal,and a drink in beer while waiting,charged me £3.25 for a half which I declined,then decided to put my food cost up to counter this!!!! Then a bunch of guys decided to intimidate me until I told them to poke their food and left. Honestly don't bother...

We were on a weekend break in Kent (looking for an Indian meal as we always do on a Saturday evening). We did not have a booking but we managed to get a table for five. The food and service were excellent and great value for money - we would definitely use this place again if we ever come back to to Faversham.

Second and last time. Offered poppadoms and these came out with the worst sauces watered down chutney that was so this it ran off the poppadoms thin yoghurt and plain onion that they charged extra for. The meal was bland and the potato and veg looked like they had been added together at the last minute. The sparkling water expensive. Service miserable Not surprisingly almost empty

we entered as a group who hadn't booked the staff were very friendly and quick to find us a table and there were quick to take our order the food was good and great value for money the servers kept us topped up with drinks and anything else we needed. I would defiantly return or use for my takeaways if it is the same standard as eating in which I'm sure it is as they seem very professional and busy for takeaways from what I could see.

Visited here on Tuesday night as it was my birthday, checked the website to make sure it was still banquet night on a Tuesday, there it was in black and white banquet night every Tuesday and Thursday, so off we went, staff friendly on arrival, it had only been open a little while and we were the only people in there, were seated and offered drinks and popadoms, looked at the menu and decided what we wanted, when the waiter came back to take the order we said we would be having the banquet to which he replied they don't do it anymore, told him the website still says it's available, he turned the menu over to show the back where there was a sticker stating that from 1st nov 2014 there would be no more banquet nights and said I can't stick this on the website!! Anyway having always had good food here before we said ok and ordered anyway. A couple came in and also asked for the banquet and were told the same as we were, they had a lengthy conversation with the waiter about an upcoming trip they are taking to india, he was very friendly and knowledgable, not that I was paying too much attention but it was good of him to spend the time. When the starters came out they were presented well but on cutting into the chicken pakora you would need to have good eyesight to find the chicken it was mainly dough with a hard exterior, the magic mushrooms were the same, the tiniest mushroom I've ever seen no mince meat just a crusty dough ball, the sheek kebab was however very nice. The main courses were hot and the naan bread was fresh and turned out to be the best thing about the whole meal, the chicken in the tikka masala was not very nice, but the others said their dishes were fine. The chef bangs on the wall to get the attention of the waiters!! A coke was £3.10, as much as a starter!! I don't know if it is under new management or why the changes have happened but they are not for the better so I think I will save myself the twenty minute drive next time which is a shame as used to really enjoy this place.

We visited this establishment this week and fairly early on in the night, around 6pm, as such the venue was quiet: rather relaxing to be honest. The decor and general establishment is very clean and almost minimalist. Met with a smile and welcome gesture; and promptly shown to our seats, where the waiter folded out and placed the napkins on us. We were asked if we wanted poppadoms and drinks almost instantaneously, which were delivered very quickly. I personally am not a great lover of Indian food; much to the annoyance of my girlfriend and some of my family members, as such my knowledge on which food is what is rather limited. The waiter(s) were more than helpful providing information regarding what came with what from the menu or if we needed anything extra to add. The food, once ordered, again arrived very quickly and at a hot temperature. Although the prices are very reasonable, the food was delicious. My lamb biryani was cooked beautifully, the lamb itself was almost perfection and the rice and mix of vegetable curry was delicious. Upon trying some of my other halves food, I discovered that it wasn't just my meal that was amazingly well done. The bill when asked was promptly given, and provided were the customary chocolates and those odd hot towelette things. Once paid we were thanked and left with a farewell statement. For an individual who never used to like Indian food, this place has swayed my opinion on the matter; and I look forward to visiting again.

Was on "boys run ashore" in Faversham and restaurant was recommended by the bar maid in the Railway Tavern as good for buffet on a thursday. unfortunately from the !st Nov the buffet is no longer available so we took a selection from the menu. starting with just poppadoms these were good but the mango sauce with them has "runny" and the chop onion was just that with very little other veg.we had a good selection of main course between the 7 of us along with side dishes,,, all were good and tasty and plentiful no complaints certainly would go there again
