The young waitress was very kind and tried to do everything for us .He was great however the food was absolutely disgusting. I think they should either clsoe down the restaurant or change the chef . I am really sorry for this review but I have to be honest . I have been in many bad Italian restuaratnts and they have served even better food than this place.

Nach Tagen ohne Pasta wollten wir wieder einmal italienisch essen gehen. Glücklicherweise waren wir sehr früh dort und bekamen noch einen Tisch. (Am besten vorher reservieren)Das Essen war sehr köstlich und der Service sehr freundlich. Der Speiseraum war recht klein, aber sehr gemütlich eingerichtet. Alle Speisen sahen sehr gut aus.

Yo diría que este lugar tiene un poco de descaro para llamarse pizzería, la pizza era como una base prefabricada con aproximadamente 3 bloques de queso, ¡no lo recomendaría si te gusta la pizza de verdad!¡Mi amigo ordenó la pakora de verduras que no tenían, así que ordenó la pakora de salchicha, que era salchichas de cóctel maltratadas! También se olvidaron de su pan naan por su curry y cuando preguntó por él se disculparon, ¡pero tuvieron que volver a pedirle que fuera a buscar uno! !Las gambas en el cóctel de gambas eran como el caucho y los filetes también.Una vez más, si un menú parece tener demasiadas opciones para ser verdad, generalmente significa que ninguna de ellas se hará muy bien.Mejor pasear hasta Wetherspoons, donde al menos sabes lo que vas a obtener.

Used this restaurant for Sunday dinner and had one of the best steak pies ever. Meat just melted in the mouth. Great service and chat from the staff. Keep up the good work folks...

Esta es nuestra cuarta vez en este hotel, nunca cambia la misma bienvenida amigable y habitaciones limpias con toallas, champú, gel de baño y servicio de té y café. El desayuno se hace a pedido, así que llega caliente. También hay cereales y comida fría. Nada es demasiado problema en el Imperial, por eso nos encanta quedarnos aquí.

Mi esposa y yo vinimos aquí en un recorrido en autobús. Fue un cambio tardío en el horario, se proporcionó un almuerzo fijo, pastel de carne y luego tarta de queso (había una alternativa vegana, etc.).Teníamos muchas dudas sobre el almuerzo, pero no podría haber estado tan equivocado. La tarta de carne era casera y EXCELENTE, piel de papas nuevas, verduras frescas. La tarta de queso también era casera y no está nada mal. El servicio fue excelente. Un gran aprobado para el Hotel Imperial, toda la fiesta del entrenador quedó completamente impresionada.

Esta es la peor comida que hemos tenido! Elegimos el menú italiano ya que los sabores suelen ser fuertes y fuertes. El menú también dijo que la comida era de origen local. Las gambas en masa estaban obviamente fuera de una bolsa grande congelada y estaban totalmente sin sabor y estaban empapadas. El pan de ajo obviamente nunca había estado cerca de mantequilla.La lubina estaba claramente en el microondas. ¡La pizza de mi esposo estaba completamente insípida y realmente incomible! Decided to eat here when the pizza takeaway down the street closed. So glad we did as it was delicious. Not busy so got a table immediately and had great service. Definitely don't miss it if staying in fortwilliam

Large choice of menu, in the bar side of the hotel. Also had a formal restaurant, not in use that night, & an Italian restaurant. The atmosphere was quiet, on a Friday evening. Staff tried hard to help, but some not slick. Food came through quickly, vegetarian stroganoff was well prepared.

We decide to go for a late lunch one afternoon and happened into the bar side of this restaurant. Its fairly small, but very cozy Scottish decor. The staff was pleasant and friendly. I personally am not fond of Indian food (which is the fare of the main dining room) so ordered fish and chips from the bar menu. I can't reiterate how pleasantly suprised I was... the fish was batteread and cooked to perfection and the chips were crispy and not the least bit greasy. It was served with a salad garnish and garden peas. Tis is hands down the best fish and chips in Fort William ( we are here often), particularly for a sit in restaurant. The other really pleasant suprise? its only £7.95! ( most other sit in restaurants was a tenner and they don't touch this for quality and VALUE!) P.S.>Mr. Barnes ordered the Lamb Bhoona which was the daily special and absolutely loved it.

This is a lovely comfortable restaurant. well stocked. We ate here and the food was marvellous very well presented. They do a variety of food to suit everybody.

Falta ambiente y el personal ordenó ruidosamente mesas y sillas alrededor de nosotros mientras comíamos. Cenamos aquí anoche. La comida era horrible, no recibimos lo que pedimos y la camarera estaba más interesada en que probáramos la comida india porque el chef era bueno para hacer comida india, el hecho de que estuviéramos en un restaurante italiano no vino a eso. Mi esposo pidió camarones y consiguió champiñones rellenos. Pedí bruschetta, nunca lo he tenido con tomates cocidos y cebollas antes. La pizza era terrible, apenas podíamos cortarlos con cuchillos ordinarios. Experiencia muy decepcionante y nunca volveremos.

Chegamos numa noite fria e chuvosa em Fort Willian e entramos direto nesse restaurante. O Restaurante estava quase vazio mas acho que pelo clima la fora. O atendimento foi muito bom. Os pratos de massas são individuais mas muito bem servidos. Comemos carbonara e uma massa com cogumelos. Tem no cardápio alguns whiskis escoceses para quem gosta. Além disso estávamos com um bebê de 8 meses e tinha cadeirinha própria pra ele. Muito bom.

I’d seen the Imperial for many years but had never been in. It’s a stalwart of this grand Highland town. Not changing much on the outside. The reception area is fine, excellent toilets which is always a bonus. The bar is really cosy and compact. It had a steady flow of residents and blow ins like myself. The girls were efficient and friendly. Good beer and reasonably priced too will secure this a return visit next time I’m this far north again.

a repeat visit, enjoyed a smashing meal which we chose from their different menus, enjoyed it in the bar, lovely people helping and serving - just wish they'd turn the sound on the TV down, or even off when it's quiet

We were very impressed with our meal here, well worth trying if in Fort William, and at a good price, we will eat here again and recommend the steak pie.

Had lunch here, not too bad. Had a good selection of meals of different types, Italian, Indian and traditional. Quiet atmosphere as bit off the main shops. Service was quick and staff friendly. Meals was nice and cost reasonable.

We were not staying in the hotel but we fancied a pizza for a change. When we walked in the place was nearly deserted but the Hotel receptionist took us through to the restaurant, turns out there are 3 places to eat - bar - restaurant and Rio pizzeria .

This Christmas Day I went to The Imperial Hotel for my Christmas Dinner. I must say, it was a great success! When I got to the hotel, I was given a glass of pink champagne. When the rest of the party arrived, we were shown into the dining room. The table was all decked out in Christmas decorations and there was a cracker for everyone. For starters I had "Ham hock and Chicken Terrine". This was a great dish. It came with a piece of toasted brioche, and oodles of caper mayonnaise. Then we were all given an "amuse bouche". This was a "Bellini Peach Ice Cocktail". Absolutely perfect for the occasion. Then I had "Traditional Roast Turkey with Trimmings" , which was just as it said. I finished off with "Baileys Cheesecake" with christmas pudding Ice Cream. All of these dishes were totally delicious! After a wee coffee, and a glass of red wine, the Christmas Dinner was completed. I must say, the whole meal was fully satisfactory. (And quite cheap, too!) All that cost £35. Bargain!

Our teenage son fancied a pizza, so we followed the signs to the Rio restaurant which turned out to be a room in the Imperial hotel. There were three rooms laid out for meals in all, one for hotel breakfasts, one the hotel bar and the 'Rio restaurant' room. There were so few people in there when we went, the waitress said we could choose any of the three, so we chose the only one that was not deserted; the bar.

Was up in Fort William for a wedding and out Hotel did not serve food past 2pm. So headed into town. A lot of places where full, but thankfully we got a table in here for something to eat.

We both had lasagne and son had Buffalo wings which were actually small legs. Very tasty, excellent quantities. Good service, will return.

This has a quirky menu. It is half indian and half italian. Three of us had indian and the fourth had pasta. The lamb korma was very good but the chicken tikka masala was sensational. We were really pleased with the value.

Dined in the Italian restaurant of the hotel and it was pretty good.Nice decor,friendly waitress.I ordered the deep fried mushrooms as a starter and the portion was good but the mushrooms could of been fried a bit more,firm in the middle.Pint of lager was fine and reasonably priced.I had the Vegetable penne pasta for my main and it was very good.Big plateful.Not over priced like some of the eating places in Fort William.Would done here again.

Visiting on New Years Eve we weren't sure if we'd get a table but fancied a pizza so in we went. We were one of just two couples in the section of the restaurant we were in!The waiting staff were friendly and helpful. The menu outside claimed to be a Pakora bar, but there was no sign of that on the menu, which was strange.Pizza choices included eastern style options, I had one with minced meat.They were tasty enough but quite pricey. Desserts were nothing to write home about.It did the job but wasn't amazing.

Went for Christmas dinner in a group of 9. A very bland average non festive soup to start The main course came with no vegtables except a plate full of peppers??? some plates had carrots some never and the general standard was very poor.Then got a cheese selection and the biscuits served had been lying out for weeks they were all stale and just dissolved the second they went in my mouth and left me gagging even with a poor chef there is no excuse for this filthy hygene -god only knows what kind of state the kitchens in and the staff clearly dont care. Then the kids desserts were served with the most disgusting chocolate sauce ive ever come across not one child would eat it and others at others tables were complaining too. Awful food hygene and would never return and advise anyone not to go there at the risk of ruining your christmas

As part of a coach trip I eat in here I was not disappointed Food was freshly cooked Staff were helpful polite Only complaint I had was £2 can of juice.Portion size goodChildren were welcome here..

Full Scottish breakfast. Cooked very nicely and piping hot. They offered different ways of cooking for the eggs which is always welcome

Called in here for an evening meal whilst spending 2 nights in Fort William. There were 4 adults in our party, 1 gluten free. They accomodated us easily, it was not full. The meals were OK and they could provide gluten free alternatives.It was all reasonably priced and I would eat there again

Visited while working in area was on a budget so opted for 3 course table d'höte menu priced £14.95. Was good value limited menu, starter lovely, main average but dessert just OK. Staff really friendly, table nicely set however toilet doors right in middle of restaurant was a bit off-putting as my seat was facing them. Would certainly return if on a budget and looking for value.

Buona la location di questo ristorante molto frequentato e dall'aspetto molto english. Molto tipica anche la cucina che vanta un'offerta molto varia di piatti tradizionali. Decisamente eccellente la qualità delle birre disponibili. Buono il rapporto qualità/prezzo .

There are two restaurants and we chose the Italian, the food was good and the prices and service ok. But it was very quiet, whilst some other restaurants that we like the look of down the main street, were full. I would go back in similar circumstances but believe that it is currently undergoing renovation and may be a bit different if we go again.

The breakfast which was included in the tariff was excellent with plenty of choices and quantity if required. The evening meal was quite good and affordable if sticking to the days specials.

The pizza, I reckon were flavourless frozen pizza. Their is no way that homemade pizzas would be so tasteless. The cider was absolutely flat and the nan bread was small and compact. I would not recommend it to anyone

Very good food - excellent 'Special Offer' of 2 courses for £12.95. The Prawn Cocktail was good, though the tomato and cucumber were too big for the dish, so could have been greatly improved just by cutting into smaller, daintier pieces for it to be a reasonable Prawn Cocktail. Salmon steak looked lovely that my friend had, and my Grilled Pork was also very good. Served with New Potatoes and Roasted veg, then followed Tiramisu - large portions again, so very good value for money.

We chose to eat in the restaurant but from the bar menu, which the staff were happy to accommodate. The waitress brought an ice-bucket with the white wine, saying it wasn't very cold. Another waiter poured it shortly afterwards and it was actually warm - I used ice from the ice bucket to cool it. Very good haggis/chicken pakora starters. My husband's medium-well steak was only just medium-rare, and the bread and butter pudding, whilst pleasant enough, had obviously been microwaved as there were a couple of stone-cold parts of it. Being English, we didn't complain, but should definitely have sent the wine and the steak back, and possibly the dessert! We only chose it for nostalgic reasons because we ate there on our wedding day 20 years ago - won't be going back.

Good choice of food at reasonable prices esp for a hotel worth a visit as there aren't a great deal of different restaurants in the town if you are visiting for a while

Wish we had taken the advice of the cab driver who did not recommend it at all! An Italian restaurant that did not serve Italian wine, and food that was virtually inedible. Expressed my views to the staff on checkout who merely said "OK!". No request for more information nor apology.

Using a Hi-Life diners club card (which gave us a good deal!) we had an excellent dinner here. Bruschetta, and Smoked Salmon parcels to start, followed by Chicken Caciatore and Fettucini with Mussels was an excellent meal at very good prices. Supported by helpful staff, good coffee and a very fair selection of Malt Whisky and fairly priced wines, I commend this to you

My family and I loved it here. The service was great (from Aggie) and the and food was even better the view was also beautiful.

In few words - don't bother. Prawns were frozen cheap ones. The sea bass fillet wasn't. Full of bones. Cheese board just cheese and biscuits not even arranged nicely on plate. Wish we'd gone somewhere else

Had lunch there with some friends, we all had beef lasagne and it was absolutely fantastic, cheap meal for a big portion. The waitress was also very nice. I would definitely recommend the place. :)

This week I stayed at Best western Imperial hotel and had my dinner at this restaurant. On my arrival welcomed by attentive staffers and got the order. I preferred soup of the day - chicken soup - £3.95, sirloin steak medium grilled with pepper corn sauce - £16.96. Soup is fine, sirloin steak not perfectly matured. Maybe my fault ordered steak at an Italian restaurant. Always I enjoyed delicious Scottish steak dinner at several Scottish restaurants, I expect the same here also. Staffers friendly and attentive.

The food arrived quickly, tasted nice and the prices were appropriate. One of the wiatresses was in training so she wasn't quite sure what to do yet, but hey.. everybody has to learn! Would definitely go again

This is a good restaurant with a variety of meals on the menu ranging from Italian, Scottish and English very well cooked and presented with efficiently trained staff.

As we ate early evening we were two of an eventual five people eating. The place looked new and we found out it opened last year. The menu was for Italian style dishes and pizzas. I ordered a focaccia bread with garlic and rosemary to start. It was pizza styled bread, but was very thin, crispy on the edges and quite chewy. The main course I chose was Spaghetti Carbonara, one of my favourites. I was disappointed to find that there was not much cream (if any) in evidence, but an amazing quantity of butter had been used, leaving quite a pool in the bottom of my dish after I had finished. There was really no atmosphere in the room, due partly to overhead lighting where we were sitting.To improve? Lose the overhead lights on an evening. Make sure there is staff behind the bar in the room. Serve focaccia bread which is nice and deep and increase the amount of cream and egg in the Carbonara and cut down on the butter. On the plus side, there was plenty of Parmesan to sprinkle over which helped. Would I return? Probably not.

We ate here s it was raining and we couldn't be bothered to leave the hotel. When we got to the restaurant there was only one other table occupied so we thought we could have a quick meal then go. We ordered our main courses and had a drink and then waited. And waited. Eventually the food arrived. It was a nice size portion, tasted good and was a good price but it took so much longer than I expected.The place is pleasant enough too but I would avoid breakfast - bland and cheap ingredients.

Bar OK if you need something in a hurry. Not exactly full of atmosphere and a strong whiff of curry but other than that it's passable! Doesn't have any decent (proper ale) on tap.

We visited here for supper tonight and thought we just had to write a great review. Most pubs/restaurants in Fort William were full and we came across the The Imperial Hotel thinking it would be out of our price range but how wrong were we! The Hotel was immaculately presented and staff friendly. We ate in the bar. The food and drink was very reasonably priced and a good choice was on offer. A gorgeous meal was had by all, I was craving fresh vegetables and was not disappointed, My friend and I both ate the best cheese and broccoli pasta bake I've ever tasted and the new potatoes were amazing and cooked to perfection. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

I saw a sign outside which said they did a choice of curries for lunch - a choice of beef, lamb or chicken. The restaurant is on the left of the reception as you go in. Comfortable seating, plenty of space and wheelchair accessible.On reading the menu, EVERY dish said "Chicken *****'. No other options were offered. I don't eat chicken. I asked about this and was told you could choose what meat you wanted. As there was a limited choice of curries, I opted for lamb korma. It arrived in a large rimmed dish. The rice and sauce were very nice. However, the lamb was 75% lumps of fat. It was pretty shocking. I don't mean it was fatty lamb, or lamb with bits of fat on, it was just lumps of fat chucked in the sauce. It was pretty disgusting. Luckily (and not surprisingly), I was the only one in the restaurant. I took the lumps of fat out of my mouth and put them round the edge of the dish. The complete rim was filled with fat by the time I finished the sauce and rice.When I went to pay, as when I ordered my meal, the guy never took his eyes off his phone nor stopped texting. He asked if I enjoyed my food. I said that I was very surprised how much fat was in it, and showed him the rim full of fat on the dish. He just said "Lamb is fatty". I said that it wasn't fatty, just lumps of fat in the sauce. He shrugged his shoulders and carried on looking at his phone. I said that I came to Fort William to work, and was just trying somewhere new to eat. He then stopped looking at his phone and said he would knock a couple of quid off the bill. When he initially thought I was a tourist, he didn't care. Don't waste your money - there are some lovely places to eat in this town.

A real shame about this restaurant. Had one of the worst fish-n-chips ever. The ironic thing is the restaurant is on the seaside. Clearly they are not buying their fish locally.

Nothing was too much trouble and the food was well cooked and presented with a smile. Liked everything disliked nothing.

The Bar Meal are not worth the money. The quantity is poor just like a snack. Had meal at 6.00 and was hungry again at 8.00pm

I ordered the chicken Madras in the cozy lounge. Nice experience. The meat was plentiful and filling and of course…hot. If the Nan bread had been fresh and chef-cooked this would have been the meal of the visit to Scotland. What a difference a garlic and onion Nan would have made to the meal....shame...good but not great. Service was better than average but still could be a little better.

Good menu, service and food. A nice ambience, so what more could you ask for? Competitively priced so good value for money. Would have spent as much on the Pizza chains (had there been any) minus the ambience and quality. Would definitely return.

We called in here and took advantage of the steak and wine deal for £30 for two. Service is excellent and the food was very nice , oh and the wine was most palatable considering the price.

This hotel offers a wide choice of food including Scottish, English, Asian and Italian, the food quality is very good along with the service and not too expensive

Pretty hopeless Pizzeria, or at least thats what the neon sign said outside. Pizzas were worse than the cheapest supermarket ones. Thats probably where they came from.Prices were average, and the sevice was friendly, decor was ok. But it should be avoided, we could have gone to the chip shop.

To put this review in perspective, I have never taken to the internet to write a negative review of anything. However, there is a first for everything and after eating in the Imperial Hotel Restaurant I feel compelled to warn people before they waste their money on probably the worst food you'll ever be served.The restaurant environment was fine, and the staff were pleasant. I have no complaints other than the food. As a party of two, we ordered one pizza and one Carbonara. Without exaggerating, I've had nicer microwave pizzas than the one I was served in the Imperial. I'm almost certain I was served a frozen pizza - it was tasteless, greasy and overwhelmingly disappointing. There's something very wrong about a restaurant with "Pizzeria" written above the door serving such a poor standard of pizza. As for the Carbonara, it was cold, had no flavour and there was no ham in it! It was just cold spaghetti with a dull creamy sauce. Having looked forward to a hot meal all day while climbing Nevis, it's hard to describe the disappointment when faced with such a poor standard of food. Please avoid.

ci siamo cascati ancora....ma di pessimo fish and chips non ne potevamo più. Avevamo in realtà scelto un ristorante di pesce, ma era pieno ed abbiamo deviato su questo ristorante dell'hotel best Western. I pochi tavoli occupati erano pieni di tedeschi, che avevano già finito la cena. Perciò siamo rimasti solo noi. Il mio amico ha voluto scegliere spaghetti, perchè ormai intasato dai fritti scozzesi, mentre io ho scelto salmone. La mia pietanza era standard, con uno strano odore del pesce e le verdure lessate, senza alcun sapore. la pasta è arrivata su un enorme piatto, guarnito con 4 grissini e saltata nella panna, pur trattandosi di sugo di molluschi.Ci avevano detto che il cuoco era italiano, perciò ci siamo permessi di pretendere che la pasta fosse al dente.....pretesa folle.Io penso che un cuoco debba cambiare lavoro, perchè porta discredito all'hotel ed alla cucina in genere.Infine la location, con i finestroni che affacciano sulla strada e la superstrada....che meraviglia!

Me and my wife we decide to book this place for staying and eating overnight on our Scottish trip. When we arrived the place look very nice, clean, very friendly but this until we've check in room no 3 what had a very very bad smell, a dirty bathroom and a none working TV. On the night time we decide to eat in their restaurant and we choose the Italian menu( what was the worse ever). I order the minestrone soup for starter what was just a tomato soup with peas and pasta, no other veg on it, and my wife had garlic mushroom( only 4 tiny ones). For mains I had pasta carbonara what was over cooked, very oily and very salty. My wife had chicken and olives rigatonne pasta , the chicken had a curry taste I think was used for their Indian menu and the pasta was very salty and all mushed.In all this time we never had a check back ,i , I try to complain to this girl who never spoke any english but nothing was sorted. After such a bad dinner we though the breakfast ( what was paid for) will be better until I find a piece of a metal scourer in my watered beans, I try to complain again but was the same girl from the dinner time. When we check out the girl on reception says if we want to complain to do it to the owner directly because she don't deal with this thinks. A waste of money and allot of disrespect .

We stopped off and decided on something in the bar. We chose 3 different types of pakora.None were that great, not sure if I'm spoiled by Glasgow Indian food but the pakora was really doughy.Service was very good and friendly though - perhaps we just chose the wrong item!

we ate here as a party of eight. the food was inedible and after complaining the first waitress had to go to get another who could speak English, in a Scottish restaurant ?! , she went away and came back to say" pay bill then we work out discount" .paid bill and then was ignored went to reception where the 2 men behind counter just shrugged when they were spoken to ,so had no option but to leave.sent email to owner of chain who sent message back to say 10% of next visit !!!!!!!, off which there is no chance.
